Happy New Year! All the Best for 2011!

I'm sitting here drinking my eggnog & spiced rum.
Seriously, eggnog, only available at Christmas time?! WTH

I'm ready for bed!
De-christmased the house.
Got Ray & K to help.
The tree is down, nativity scene put away, and anything in reference to the Jolly Old Fellow, is put away for another year.
The snowmen get to stay out until the Easter Bunny comes.
Or the snow is gone.
Whichever comes first!

I really have a few projects on the go.
I'm making treats for my stamp club for Valentine's Day.
Hey, it's NEVER too early to whip stuff up!
I just need my label on the back of the 'I Hear A Symphony' atc's, and they're ready to go.
I have a few ideas for the Thank You cards that need to be done too!

I'll close out the year with you some family photos of our Christmas season!
And we're not done yet!
Brunch tomorrow at one of Rays sisters!

I have goofy pictures too, but these were some of the nicer ones!
And OMG I love it when the family's all here!
And happy & content, happy & satisfied, happy.........I love my family!

Ta ta for now!
Talk to ya next year!

It's The MOST Wonderful Time of the Year!

Hellooooooo!
I've had the most fantastic Christmas evah!

I think I must have been VERY good this year!
I got a Cricut, (SHUT UP!), and 2 cartridges, I guess 3, cause 1 came with it, an MP3 player
new boots, wine, chocolates.........I'm still soooo happy!
Add to that, a house full of twentysomethings, and one of those got an Xbox Kinect, which is set up in my living room, it makes for alot of laughter!
I hurt in places I didn't know I had! hahahahaha
I have bowled (kicked ass by the way!), played soccer, thrown the discus & javelin for the last 3 nights!
After the first night, I never wanted to play again.....I. AM.NOT.TWENTYSOMETHING!
But it's all good, just a little twinge now and then! I figure I'll play daily while it's hooked up, or until I need my living room back, whichever comes first!
We've watched Eclipse, Barnyard, drank, had turkey, went for supper for my BIL's 60 birthday, had lunch with friends on Monday.............................it's allllllll good!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!?
V & her boyfriend were here, S left Sunday.
V left yesterday!
And the O/S is home!
I'll take him to his plane in GP on Monday!
I have stuff to do over there that's work related anyway!
I'll also check out Cricut cartridges at Michaels too!
I may never need another punch!

This is the second day this week I'm at my (not new) job!
I will be caught up with most things this morning!
The guys have left me alone.....silly guys!
I've fumagated the bathroom.........(cause the guys have left me alone)!

I'll run to town later to get the mail and stuff!
I've had my fill of chocolate, and snacks.....I really think I can get down to work! (SERIOUSLY!)

I'll put some pics on here too.
Might have to be when K is gone though.
He's been home when I get there from work, and him and I have supper, bowl (I kick ass) or play soccer or whatever! Then he goes out with friends!

Better go, talk to you later!

So This Is Christmas..........

And what have you done?
I'm working on that!

The kids will be home today!
The Ordinary Seaman is in the same province as his mother!
And I thought I was happy when he was on the same continent back in October!
I think we'll have a house full of visitors the next 3 days, because everyone knows he's coming home, and wants to see him!

I've got my arsonal of cookbooks out!
I do up everything I can the day before Christmas, so I can relax Christmas Day!
I remember Christmases at home, when we hardly saw our mother......she was busy in the kitchen!
That wouldn't happen in todays world, as most kitchens & living areas are one space. Mine is!
About all I'll have to do tomorrow is cook the bird, make the stuffing and gravy, everything else will be done.
Doing the potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad, vegies today!
And, making an awesome supper tonight! HA!

Wednesday at the OFH, was kinda bittersweet.
It was a GOOD day!
I got stuff!
The manager & staff got me the nicest Christmas centerpiece, an angel, and a basket full of bath stuff!
The residents were sad, but I WILL go visit!
I plan on volunteering once in a while.
Not for a minute though................I was soooo tired last night I wanted to go to bed at 8:30, and that would never do!
As it was, I was in bed by 10:00, and I was up at 5:30 am!

BEL, my full time job now, had a Christmas party last night for all the companies they contract for.
I was sent to PR in the company Tahoe to get the fixins!
I need to go to school to operate even the heat in that sucker!
When I went to back up, a screen on the dash, told me to watch for obstructions behind me, and showed a picture of what was behind! OMG!
I realized it was a GPS, and the backing up stuff was probably a perk!
I had to read the instruction manual to figure out how to put gas in it!

So, I'm going to get my pasta ready for supper tonight.

If I don't talk to you for a few days, have a very Merry Christmas, and I hope you're spending it with loved ones!

Ta ta for now!

You Know Dasher and Dancer & Prancer & Vixen..........

After having a mild case of burn out, or whatever.....we won't even go there!
I'm back to being myself!
It's Rays BD today!

The roads on the weekend were horrendous, so Ray offered to take me shopping in PR on Saturday!
I said (horrors & shudder): "I really don't want to do anything today.....how about tomorrow?"
I'm suprised he didn't say, "Who are you, and what have you done with my wife?"!

Of course, not doing anything meant laundry, cooking, etc.!
But I did finish a Sookie Stackhouse novel, they're not Twilight, but they're light reading and make me laugh!
I'm going to start the second last one tonight.
I'll stop at the library tomorrow to see if they have the last one in.
I'll have to pick up some holiday reading!

Did do the grocery run yesterday.
Got the menus all figured out for a few days, Oh I Know Christmas is one of them, and I'll do the bird, which I'd better take out and put in the fridge to unthaw tomorrow!
Friday night we're gonna have Rigatoni Broccoli Bake.
You dirty every pot in the kitchen with that one, but it's a crowd pleaser!
I will put some recipes on here after Christmas for you guys!

Was at my other job, soon to be regular job today.
Got a taste of what being the 'gopher' means!
Hopefully it's not every day! I'll never get anything done!
I had to run to town to the bus depot for freight, and Post Office for the mail, and Gift Cards.
I was in the middle of a bank reconciliation, and we have 4!

I DID get the house vacumed tonight and the floors washed!
And burnt the garbage!
My mom sent a wonderful card, I'll take a picture and show you later!
Also sent money.
She said, and I quote, "Spend it on something you can all enjoy on Christmas Day. I don't care if it's groceries, a maid..............."
Not sure if I'll tell her that the only things I have left to pick up are at the Liquor Store!?
V says S likes Paralyzers! I told her that so does my BFF, so I actually have the stuff to make them!
I also have the stuff to whip up Bartenders Root Beer! mmmmmmmm
And my newest favorite drink of course!
Just need some spiced rum to go with the Egg Nog, and beer, and we're set!
Oh yea, gotta get some apple juice for the Apple Cider....it's a tradition!

Going out for supper with some GF's on Wednesday.....my last paid day at the OFH!
I work all day, done at 4:30, then have to go back for the Christmas light drive at 6:30! Might as well hang out in town, and no better way than going out for Chinese Food!

Gotta remember Wednesday to take the pass word off my computer!
Hahahaha, wouldn't that be funny!?
I've already taken all my stuff off, and lots I just e-mailed to myself.

Better go, have to see if Shadow is warmed up and wants out.
She darn near ran over me when I was coming in from burning the garbage!
It was -25C already.....Supposed to warm up to -7C for Christmas Day!

Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.~ Dr. Seuss

Aaaaaannnnd......TGIF!

Ohhhh, I'm sore!
After shoveling on Wednesday, I fired up the snow blower last night when I got home!
Shoulda soaked in my tub!

So now, here I am, with my newest favorite drink, talking to you!
My newest favorite drink, and it has been since last Christmas is Disaronno, Fresca, and a splash of orange juice! MMMMMmmmmmmm! Over ice of course!

I have had the weirdest day!

We'll start with what's been showing up on my desk in the mornings at the OFH!

One of the policies at the OFH is that we are NOT allowed to accept anything from the residents.
The pen holder is from one of the residents kids. I'm liking that, cause now I should never have to look for my white uni whatever pen, my stylus, my glue pen....need I go on!? Some stuff is anonymous, and do you see the FROM: Santa one?
The maintenance guy was in my room this afternoon,
and I'm like:
"WhatdoIdo?"
He just shrugged, and said,"Well, until Santa becomes a resident here........"

I'm busier than heck at work, only 2 more days, and Ray calls me!
600  6 TIMES!
Every time he got me, his phone cut out....bad cell service where he hauls logs.
The problem was, his cross shift had taken Ray's pickup to the shop, shut it off, locked the keys in it, with the lights on!
It's -30 people, can you say dead split battery by the end of the 12 hours!?
I failed to see where that was my problem when he asked if I had the extra set of keys!?
Of course I do.......they're at home where I put them however many years ago!
So I called the body shop to see if someone was available to go unlock it, and shut the lights off.
I should've asked where the cross shift was staying, cause I'da made him call the darn body shop!
He's getting the bill, that's for sure, and it isn't cheap!
I now have the spare set of keys in my purse.

THEN, V calls.
"Did I get any mail, cause my credit card's expired, and I want to buy Toby Keith tickets!?"
Me: "Nope, I don't have any mail for you."
V: "Can I use your credit card?"
I'm such a GOOD mom, I go fetch it and give her the info.
She calls me back: "It's not working, it says it's not a valid card....I'm so frustrated....I'm trying to buy pre-tickets."
Me: "I don't know what to tell you, I'm not there, and it sure should work!"

V calls me back....in between Ray's 600 6 calls.
"I am sooooo blonde....when I put your number in, I put a space between them all, that's why it wouldn't work!"
Me: "I love you , but between your dad and you this morning I'm going nuts!"
So then she texted me! hahahahaha

On top of that I've got D texting me from BEL!
When am I gonna be working for them full time!?
They're having a Christmas Party next Thursday and need stuff picked up in Peace River for it!
Told him I'd be there Monday, I had 2 days at the OFH, then Thursday I could do the grocery run!!!!
I'm going tomorrow for my own!

I received this stamp set in the mail today!
I wasn't expecting it, and not sure what I won or where!?
I did win April at CCAYR and didn't get anything, but I wasn't gonna whine about it!

And finally, the "Oh, Christmas Tree" atc's I told you about!

There's a lot of work in those babies!
I've been working on my "I Hear a Symphony" atc's they're almost done!
Due sometime in January, but I'll send them out between Christmas & New Years!

I'm the hostess with the mostess January for the Stamp Club, and I'm having a stampin' party that same week.
I think I might have to get an embossing machine thingy, and they have the Big Shot, so I'll need all the help I can get!

Better go, gonna see if Criminal Minds is on, and I'm not even gonna lock the door, cause if someone wants to try and get up our driveway, it'll be someone I know!

Ta ta for now!

SNOW!

6:00 am
Rays cross shift (log truck go 24 hours a day) called at 5:00 am!
WTH!
I have horrible sleep patterns at the best of times!
Oh well!

It's blizzarding out something fierce!
I'm too close to done to have a snow day!

Happy Hour at the OFH last night was hilarious!
The band ( we have live entertainment for the Birthday PartySLASHHappy Hour once a month), heard it was my last Happy Hour. (Thanks to the floor girl!)
V: "We've heard this is Gails last party with us!?"
J: "Yup, she's retiring!"
R: " I'm a little sad about that, we'll miss her."
V: " I'm gonna miss her helping me haul all my stuff in!"

They then proceded to play Too Old to Cut The Mustard Anymore!
They redeemed themselves by playing Johnny Reid Today I'm Gonna Try and Change the World, and said that where ever I was working and what ever I did next it would be all good.
My friend I: " Doesn't that make you wanna cry?"
Me: "Nope, not after the first song!"

10:00 pm
It's STILL blizzarding out!
I plowed snow all the way up the drive way, shoveled a place to park, shoveled about 50 ft. to the house, and I don't think Ray's gonna make it in the drive way.
AND, I hurt the vans feelings this morning!
I plowed snow with the car many times, the snow just shot out the sides.
With the van it comes up over the hood, and obscures the windshield!
OHHHHHH S%$#, was said a few times on the 2 1/2 miles of backroads to the highway this morning, and I just crawled!
I did say, "Gawd, I'd rather be driving my car."
Hopefully the van doesn't take it personally, and gets me outa here in the morning!
There's a LOT of snow out there, and it's supposed to keep up for a few days yet!

My peeps wanted to go shopping today!
It IS their regular shopping day, but it was soooo miserable out, I put it off until 1:00 this afternoon!
I still had 6 people come, and 3 wore their finest SHOES! WTH!
After wading through 2 feet of snow at 2 stores, most sat in the van, and only 1 or 2 wanted to go in to the other stores!!
That's what happens when you lead a sheltered life!
No clue, as too, the snow, the wind, mitts, hats, boots............I ALWAYS dress like a dork on shopping days in the winter......I'm gonna stay warm!
So I have parka hair (kinda like hat head, only staticky), I'm sore from shoveling, and tired!
Only 4 more days!

I did get the Oh, Christmas Tree ATC's!
I'll take a picture another day to share with you!

Better go!

Ta ta for now!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Saturday, I got my stuff together and got into town to pick up little P.
Her & I went to check out the Christmas Farmers Market & Craft Fair.
We also had lunch at the hall & visited.....other adults.....our own age!

Then we went to little P's house and watched Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoenix.
And we made these! Ok, they were made, we did them up pretty with bows & ribbon.
They're made out of recycled Christmas cards.
I had printed the following poem on stickers, and put them on the bottom!

This is a very special gift, you can never see!
The reason it's so special, it's just for you from me!
Whenever you are lonely or ever feeling blue
You have only to hold this gift, and know I think of you.
You can never unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close to your heart,
It's filled with love inside!

I'm going to get the girls at the OFH to put them out on Christmas morning.
And if you REALLY think about it, it's not going to go over well with the people with dementia!
But oh well, the rest will appreciate them!

I got pizza in town for supper on my way home.

Saturday night I went & got the tree out of the storage trailer, let it thaw out, set it up and decorated it!
I had brand spankin new lights for the tree, after last years fiasco!
I put the tree up, and ALL. THE. LIGHTS. WORK!
So I guess I'm saving the lights for next year.

I finished these for the staff.
The yellow sheet is my pattern, and they hold a treat size peppermint patty!

Here they're done!

Got all the presents wrapped yesterday, after firing up the snow blower to clear the myriad paths in the yard!

Ray's brother was here for coffee.
He'd come up for a funeral today.
Ray's moms uncle died.

Tomorrow night is Happy HOur at the OFH!
My last Happy Hour as the Recreation Assistant.

I also have one of the Constables from the RCMP detatchment coming for lunch and to talk to my peeps about scams & fraud.
The conversation went like this.
"Hi Gail, this is E G from the Manning detatchment, do you still want someone to come talk about scams & fraud?"
Me: "Yes, I sure do!"
E: "I have a few days off next week."
Me: "NOOOOOO, you have to be in uniform, you look like you're 12, no one will listen to you."
E: "No plain clothes?"
Me: "No, they'll spend the 1/2 hour wondering who's grandchild you are! Can you wear your gun?"
E: "Ok, I'll be in uniform."
Me: "Great, come for lunch!"
E is the youngest RCMP officer we have, he's 23!

And I got the nicest compliment today!
I sent out the blog address to some of my family and dearest friends!
Here's a comment that was e-mailed!

Hello Gail,

Here's some more moose pics for you....I was reading your blog yesterday & thinking what a great idea these blogs are! Your writing style is sweet, felt like I had a nice visit with you.

Take care, Gail & I hope you have a wonderful Christmas this year!

Cheers,

Maya

Hey Maya! You can comment on the posts you know!

So, guys, you ARE. NOT. ALONE!
They just don't comment here, they e-mail me!

Better go.

I'm Up! WTH!

I've been up since about 4:45A.M.!
I think it's more stressful to Leave my job at the OFH than it is to work there.....NOT!

Because they're tearing up the carpets, our house is upside down, cause they're not just in one area!

I DO have my desk cleaned out, and I brought a bunch of stuff home last night!
I had my griddle there for making pancakes for the breakfast club!
I had some scrapbooking stuff there for card making!
A picture of the O/S and Donkey, who we met last summer at the corn maze!

I'm worried about my peeps!
I've told a lot of them I'm done on the 22nd.
Some got it, but a lot said, "For Christmas!?"
Me: "No....forever."
I usually take between Christmas & New Years off, so I guess it's hard to figure!
I'll start telling them again next week!

Human Resources called me 2 days in a row to try & talk me out of leaving!
My supervisor phoned yesterday, and said that she'd told Human Resources I was tired of stupid!
Hopefully they get someone that will stay and do a good job.
I told my supervisor that it would depend who they hired, how much help I'd be willing to give.
Because, REALLY......I. AM. TIRED. OF. STUPID!

Helped at the Library last night for Daddy & Me!

Craft sale again in M tomorrow.
Little P wants to go.
We'll go for lunch, and I'm thinking I need to do my Christmas baking while I'm there!
I don't even have all my stuff dug out, and the tree needs to go up this weekend!
The kids are coming home, or I wouldn't bother.....see it doesn't matter how old they get.....parents still do stuff the kids will appreciate or enjoy!
Then we'll go to Little P's house and watch the 5th Harry Potter!

Ray's been hauling logs since Monday.
V calls almost everyday, cause she's so excited!
I think mostly about her brother coming home!

Better go.
I've already cleaned the roof off!
It's still snowing! I'll be blowing snow this weekend too!
I'd better get some shear pins!

Ta ta for now!

Double Identity!

This crazy busy life I lead should soon be slowing down!

I'm done at the OFH on the 22nd.
Don't worry, I told the manager to keep a copy of my drivers license, criminal check etc., so I can volunteer and drive the bus! I'll still have stories.
Also, I sell AVON (don't tell anyone) to about half a dozen gals there, (cause they hate can't stand dislike the other AVON lady), so I'll be there every 2 weeks or so!

The place is tore up right now, they're replacing the carpet with linoleum, hopefully they're done tomorrow!

My job was advertised internally, and no one jumped at the chance!
So it hits the local paper next Wednesday! Paper only comes out once a week!

I worked at my other job for 10 hours Monday, and was there again last night for 2!
I get tonight off, and tomorrow night I volunteer at the Library for Daddy & Me at the Christmas Tree, do it every year, and actually it's alot like playing with my peeps, only these people are smaller!
Then I'll go back Friday night for a few hours!

I'm not doing a Christmas letter this year!
I've made an executive decision!
I'm going to send people here!
They wanna know what's going on in our lives, they can check it out!

So one of these days I'll have to sum the year up!
You guys already know everything! The good and the bad!

It's blizzarding out!
I've cleaned the roof off, helped my blow up snowman family stand up....they were under a snow drift, put out some Christmas stuff, and told some hunters they couldn't hunt here!
They bow hunt.........SO, they could hunt with a toy gun, and the answer would still be NO!
The ravens are having a party in the back 40, but I didn't get home early enough to go check it out!

I did get this for you though!

Mom & baby.......the hunters came to ask if they could hunt cause they seen lots of tracks.
I told them that some of the animals hang out in our pasture, and there's still NO HUNTING!
These 2 are actually in the neighbors fence, right by our driveway!

So I'd better go, finish the cards I was going to put the letters in, and finish up my treats for the staff at work.
Yup, even the idiots!

And Criminal Minds is on tonight!

Ta ta for now!

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Still Smilin'!

Someone poke me!
Not too hard though!
I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm sure I'll wake up soon!

Got up early...what's with that!?

Put hamburger soup in the slow cooker, did some laundry, went out and burnt the garbage and blew the snow out of the paths with the snow blower. (Also took both shear pins off!)
Came in & made blueberry muffins, and an apple pie, and got some cards ready to mail.

There's 28 that don't get letters, and the calendar I told you about for my friend!

I need about 30 Christmas letters done now, and I can mail the rest.
Crazy huh!

So for my time out before if I see if Criminal Minds is a repeat, I logged on to Facebook.
And found this!

It's Another GOOD Day!

I've actually been having a GREAT week!
You know I won the basket at the $ store, and the stamp set from Brenda at Sweet Paper Treats!

I received this e-mail on Wednesday!

From: TheNovelBlog.com Contests

Subject: RE: I WANT TO DIE TWICE!

To: "'Gail Luck'"

Received: Wednesday, December 1, 2010, 11:31 PM

Congratulations Gail, you're the winner of the Andrew Grant DIE TWICE giveaway. Andrew has been notified. Please allow up to four weeks to recieve your autographed copy of DIE TWICE.

Andrew Grant is Lee Childs' brother! You know, the author of the REACHER books I LOVE!

I was flying high!

Thursday was my stamp club.....these are the cards we made!

I was glad we made the 3" X 3" cards....I've signed up for a Thank You card swap made out of this size!

I gave my notice on Thursday too.
I think the twitch under my right eye is gone!

When I went to the staff room at coffee time, R the maintenance guy was there, and he said"What's this?"
(They already had my job posted.)
Me; "I gave my notice."
Now you have to know R.....he's pretty serious, straight face about almost everything, but WOW...I wish I woulda had a camera!
Me; "When we do the movie, you have to play yourself, for the facial expressions!"
And we laughed, cause he says that to me!
An example is here!

He was a little upset, wondered who he was going to talk to that wasn't an idiot, and who would they hire that had a handle on stuff, and still have compassion etc.!
I said, " Wow, the cutoff is December 9th, it's only posted internally, OMG, they're gonna stick me with some loser for 2 weeks!"
R; "Gail, you're talking out loud!"
We decided we couldn't see anyone working there already applying for the job, so I might be off the hook!
I'm really glad someone else will have to take down the decorations!

Yesterday, my friend P & I watched the fourth Harry Potter. Goblet of Fire!

Today we went to a craft sale in Dixonville, and then on to PR for shopping!
And shop we did, after buying a few things at the sale, and putting our name in for draws!

We got home, by 5:00pm, cause I'm the chauffer, and I'm not driving in the dark.....and stop at the Fields store, cause I wanted a stocking for S.
My friend J who sells Princess House is in there with her husband, and she says...;
"Here's the girl who said P come put your name in for these cause I want them!"
Me; "Did she win the pans?"
J; " No, you did!"
GAWD! Could I win the lottery or something!?

Better go, I gotta get my Christmas cards done sometime this weekend!

Talk to ya later!

Ta ta for now!

Doing a Happy Dance!

Hello everyone!
I've been having a great week so far!
Went to the wine & cheese thingy at the $ store Friday night!
I won the basket!

Lots of fun stuff in there!
Sunday the Friends of the Library went out to dinner with Lesley the Librarian.
She's moving at Christmas.
Then we went to the movie fundraiser for the library.
Saw Charlie St. Cloud.
It's a gooder! A feel good movie....sort of.

Monday I got Happy Mail, from Brenda Weaver at Sweet Paper Treats!
Can't wait to play!

Today I got these!
OMG! Some pretty awesome ones in there!
These were the Halloweenie ATC's , my first ATC swap I participated in!
Pretty cool I thought!

I've been decorating at the OFH.
Uhhhg!
I can't climb up and down the ladder like I used to!
The tree will get up tomorrow!
I put it up, and tell the residents it needs to be decorated by the time I come the next morning.
And actually it's breakfast club Friday this week, so that's earlier that usual!

BUT.......that's a big BUT!
I went to my other job around 5:30 to do payroll.
The boys have been overwhelmed with stuff, and to top it off , the safety girl hasn't been there since September.
D was pretty darn cranky, then his brother B came in.
The liquor is in a storage closet in my office.
I told D to go sit in the closet and come out when he was happy.
He's a big guy, I was sitting at my desk and he walks over, looks waaay down at me and said; "Ok Gail, you can have $2.00 an hour more, and give your notice."
I said, "Holy Moly, (or something), you really have had a rough day."

So I typed my notice up while I was there and will hand it in tomorrow.
I said that my last day would be the 22nd.
We have odd pay periods.

Then I told D that the internet told me not to be suprised if I got turfed when I gave my notice.
So I might see him tomorrow! I dunno!?

And the O/S is finally doing his course!
Naval communications.
Started November 22, and goes til March.
Then he gets assigned to a ship.
He's pretty pumped!
Then he'll be an Able Seaman!
He's also coming home for Christmas! Whooohoooooo!
His plane lands on December 23, and his sister will pick him up!

Merry Madagascar!

Just watched that....so cute!

I was done work early yesterday, after taking my peeps to the Craft Fair at the Ag Hall.

Went over to my friend little P, and we watched Prisoner of Azkaban.
We then went and picked up R for the Ladies night of shopping at the $ store!
We had wine & cheese, and browsed. Put our names in for door prizes, etc!
H called me today to tell me, and I quote, "You won the basket, you little brat! You can pick it up any time!"
The joys of small town living!

These are the flowers I've been crocheting while we watch the Harry Potter series.

I'll use them on cards or scrapbook layouts!

I won a stamp set here, at Sweet Paper Treats!
Check Brenda out, she does cool stuff!

I started up the snow blower today!
Cleaned paths all over, and did the parking area.
Because it snowed I went to clean off the roof, and actually had to get on the roof, cause someone's been shirking his duties, and not cleaning it off properly.
I banged a bunch of ice off the shingles, and swept it off!

Came in and made a casserole for supper.
Beef & Noodle bake.
I found the recipe in the What's Cooking With Kraft magazine.
2 batches of Poppycock goodness!

I DO have a picture, I just can't upload it!
(Uploaded it this morning! November 28!)
1 batch of Peanut Brittle, along with all the usual housework.
Dug out some more snowmen to put out, and my favorite sign that says,
"All Of My Best Friends Are Flakes"!

Then soaked in the jacuzzi for an hour with Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade & my book......I want to be able to move tomorrow!
Watched an episode of Criminal Minds, and I think I'm ready for bed!

Tomorrow the Friends of the Library are taking the librarian out for supper, cause she's moving at Christmas, and going to Charlie St. Cloud. It's a fundraiser for the library!

Then we'll start another crazy week at my other job, and the OFH;  I really need to get the decorations up there!

Better go!

So I'm Thinking...........

I haven't had anything crafty to show you for a while!
I made these for my Stamp Club next week!

I got the inspiration here!
Just a note....DO NOT START THESE IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FILL THEM WITH!
I made a prototype.....don't wanna use good paper if they don't turn out!
And it was perfect!
I made these on the weekend, and only got chocolate for them today.
I have REALLY GOOD 2 sided tape (from Scor pal), but they wanted to come apart, cause only 1 end was sealed!
I fixed that by attaching the flower and tag to the end that didn't want to stick!
The flower is recycled netting off a poinsettia at work!
I have a pile of it!

Today is Walmart day with my peeps!
Always good for a laugh!
Even if I have a list, they're sitting in McD's by the time I get there.
They toss all their purchases in my cart, and go again!
Tonight is supper with the girls, it's G's birthday.
Better find her a card!
Tomorrow is Happy Hour at the OFH.
Friday night, is a Wine & Cheese party at the $ store!
I. KNOW!

Sunday's a movie fundraiser for the library, and we're taking the librarian out for supper, cause she's moving at Christmas.
Monday is a lunch meeting with the 55+ club thingy.........I'll be representing the lodge, not that old yet!

Had to start my lodge calendar over from scratch!!!???
Kept closing, & said the file was corupt......even when I e-mailed it to myself....wouldn't open!

And Brandi, if you're reading this, I see "Can you SMELL what the Rock is cooking" Dwayne Johnson, has a new movie out.......'Faster'!

Happy Monday!

This will be short!
Just wanted you to know that it was a balmy -28 degrees celcius this morning!
It's warmed up to -19 tonight!

Was at my other job for 8 hours today.
I'm full time for them, starting in January! Whoop!

I then went to town, grabbed the mail, and went to my 4:30 pm meeting.
Which lasted until 9:00 pm!
I grabbed a few groceries, and came home!

Tired, not even going to look at a card or scrapbook page!
It's been a loooong day!

So good nite all!

It's been a week of winter!
OK, not quite!
I BBQ'ed supper last Sunday!
Today, it's snowing, there's a wind, and I'm definately NOT BBQing!
I've got Chili in the slow cooker, the potatoes are peeled, and I'm going to whip up some cornmeal muffins for a change!
My cousin Carmel has a recipe blog......you should check it out!
I'm working on the laundry, and the GST, house cleaning, and scrapin'/ card makin'; in no particular order!
It's a great day to stay in!
I can hear Ray up on the roof......skylight!
He went up there all by himself, I didn't have to say; "You gonna clean the roof off?"
And he didn't have to say; "It's not done snowing."!

I spent the day yesterday, doing a load of laundry before I went to town.
Got my hair done......yea, it was time!
Then spent the afternoon, watching Harry Potter with little P, eating junk food, and I crocheted some flowers for cards/ scrapbook pages, whatever!
We watched the first 2, now I have to make a date for the next 2.
Might be this Saturday if I can't think of anything pressing to do! HA!

I built my desk earlier this week, and after not seeing Ray for days (we have different schedules), flipped it upside down, and wiggled it in here!
I'm now wired in the craft room!

And here's a couple pictures of my storage in my messy craft room.
But hey, I pretty much know where everything is!
Except.......and you knew there had to be a BUT!, I haven't found a good paper solution!
I have them sorted by occasions.......then.......nothin'!
I spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect color to 'go with'!

I spent all my allowance last November on these storage cubes from Michaels, and I really like them!
The desk is also 8 cubes put together, with the desk option on!
That gives me total working surface of 60 1/2" X 29".
Everything I use a lot is within reach!
I have wire DVD holders for my stamps I'm currently using, and I change them out as needed.

I could be perfectly happy in this room for days!
I have a phone, TV(with satellite receiver), DVD and VHS player, and now my computer!
The bathroom is right next door! I'm a HAPPY CAMPER!

I also told Ray I was having a nap this afternoon, so if he came home and I was flopped on the loveseat, "Don't talk to me unless my eyes are open!"
He laughed.

Better go, get something done!
Talk to you later.....

Old Man Winter is Here!

Sorry I didn't take pictures, but it snowed last night, and it's probably here to stay as it is -10 out there already!
Plugged the van in.....YUP, had to find the block heater cord, and plugged it it!
Hoping the water situation is cleared up....literally!
Had muddy water yesterday, so Ray had to go get the boat AGAIN!
Hopefully it's fixed, and won't freeze up or anything crazy!
Remember my sewer unthawing episode last year? Maybe it was this spring!
I found it for you! It was in January!

Found some giveaways for ya!
Bakerella is just for you people in the USA this time!
Jillibean Soup blog has 10 days of giveaways! Might have to scroll down!
And I found this, Organized Chaos, for you too!
Enter, and Good Luck!

I forgot to show you this!

I took that in GP, the day of the concert!
People worry me!
I mean, DO YOU NEED A GUN?
ARE YOU GOING TO BUY ONE TO GET TRACY LAWRENCE TICKETS?
What's the reasoning here?
The tickets were waaaaay cheaper than buying a gun!?
And........those people buying the guns, are they gonna bring them to the concert?!
GAWD!

Just like everytime I go to my little independent scrapbooking place.
I walk outside and the sandwich board I walk into is,
"Want a Rose on Your Rump, or a Ring in Your Thing?"
No, she's really NOT in a seedy part of town!
And I laughed the first time I saw it!
After months of that, you'd think they'd come up with something different!
What Is The Attraction?
Or am I too old to get it?! (You know, kinda like the bar scene!)
I'd really forgot how, obnoxious and scary, drunk 20 year olds were!
Then I wondered if the nice bouncers (who looked 12) at the bar, made sure everyone got into a cab when they left!?

I was at my other job today....I was the ONLY one there, and poor V's gonna go nuts if we don't get this discussed and settled soon!
She calls me every Monday!
They're getting ready for logging, cause a lot of camp shacks & equipment left the yard today!

Better go, we spent yesterday & some of Saturday cleaning up some more dead willows!
I have a meeting tomorrow in Berwyn!
Gonna go see if I can find an episode of Criminal Minds!

Talk to ya later!

The Bar Scene is Overrated!

I'm sitting here with the Dr. (ZenZen) eating popcorn.
Well, not really, I'm typing, and can't do both!
I'm actually recuperating from our evening out last night!
I did my shopping, Michaels.........
And my favorite independent scrapbookin store!

The Martha Stewart treasures were a real steal, I couldn't pass them up!
Halloween goodness for less than half! SWEET!
The stamps were in the $1.50 bin, except the musical note, but I had a coupon!
I picked up the deskSLASHbookshelf I wanted for the craft room.
It's still in my van!
I'm waiting for Ray to go to work so I can haul it in here piece by piece, put it together, and get the computer moved before he knows what happened!

V & I went out for supper to Tony Roma's, and then went to Rock City for the Tracy Lawrence concert.
Wrong!
I never brought ID!
"I'm over 50, that's BS, I. NEED.ID.TO.GET.INTO.A.BAR?"
V; "No mom, they ID everyone.
They scan your drivers license, then if you get in a fight you never get back in."
Me; "Oh yea, like that'll happen."
We wait outside, while her boyfriend S brings me my ID.
We get in, case the joint, and of course there's no chairs.
It's a bar people!
They've probably sold 1000 tickets, and have seating for not even half!
Anyhoo!
We asked some total strangers if we could sit with them.
We made new friends!
The doors opened at 7:30pm.
Tracy Lawrence came on at 10:00 pm.
When he came out and asked how everyone was, I thought V was gonna pee her pants when I crossed my arms and said; "Tired and cranky!"
So V & I made our way to the stage with all the drunken groupies.
Not a word of a lie!
I wanted to get some pictures.
V; "He's kinda hot for an old guy."
Me; "I just thought he was looking OLD!"
I pull out my camera.
A 7 foot tall guy standing next to me (HONEST!) takes my camera, uses his other arm to swoosh everyone to the side, and takes a whole s$#@load of pictures for me.
Of course, I was grateful!
I didn't want some drunk broad spilling their drink on me!
**PS. His band was scary looking!
I'm talking WWF; yup you heard me!
I was a Stone Cold Steve Austin fan back in the day,
and I blame the Radbourne girls for that....
Thank You very MUCH!
Anyhoo......Tracy Lawrences' bass player....The Undertaker!

I guess while V & I were standing up at the stage, we missed 3 fights!
And one was girls! GAWD!
We never got back to V's until about midnight.
I don't think I'll do that again!
Too old for that shit!
Gonna stick to the concert venues!
Safer! And they start earlier......need I go on!
But hey.... I bought a CD and a T shirt!

So the girls, V & A & L are going back to Rock City tonight for Pauly D!
Sounds like more of what Rock City's all about, and last night when V asked L what she was wearing tonight (girls will be girls) L said, "I'm gonna get all slutted up for tomorrow night!"
OMG.....I'm waaaaay to old for this!

I got home around 12:30 pm today, and did some laundry, dishes, and cleaned up some of the yard, until the hurricane force winds started up!
I then came in, had cereal for supper, and finished 2 pages of scrapbooking, and did one more!
Hope to do a couple more tomorrow!
Better go, looking forward to my own bed tonight!

Ta ta for now!

It's Remembrance Day

Hope everyone took a moment to remember our veterns!?

My trip yesterday with my peeps was to HC!
I had 9 passengers.
3 weren't out on time and the bus left without them, and one that was crossed off got on the bus!
I didn't have her noon medication!
Because she'd been crossed off the list people!
I was a tad cranky.
They ALL got the lecture about leaving the list alone. There's room at the bottom to put your name if it's full, and because of someone's thoughtlessness, someone went without their lunch pills.
Of course, NO.ONE.DID.IT!
Yoy!

I've got my bag packed to go stay with V and see Tracy Lawrence tomorrow night!

I also spent a some time outside today, cleaning up the willows.

I heard something in the bush.
I saw something in the bush.
I took a picture of something in the bush.
Then I went and got the gun!

See the Wile E. Coyote?
Of course I didn't see him after I got the gun, and he's watching Shadow, who was in LaLa land!
I'm sure my dog has A.D.D. sometimes!

The next 4 cards are what I made at stamp club Tuesday night!

Fairly simple cards, but I like using the sentiments I don't have at home, for the inside and out!
She usually gives us a choice!
This next picture is the cover of my photo album I'm doing of Jason.
The oldest child.

I'm working on 2 pages right now.
We had a lot of 4 and 5 generation pictures taken when he was little.
I've titled it 'generations', but not real happy with it yet!
I'll work on it.
My mom called tonight, and I told her what I was doing, and also asked how to spell some of the Grandmas last names.
She said, "Jason had the most grandparents of anyone I ever knew"!

I've got my Michaels list for tomorrow, and my arsenal of coupons! I'll be calling V, and she'll bring her friend L, and we can all get something at 40% off!
I've got Odorless Mineral Spirits, and Blending Stumps on the list. Thanks Curt!

Oh, before I forget! Michelle Z. has some blog candy. Go check it out!
You've only got until tomorrow!

I've found a few new blogs I haven't been to before, some had newsletters to subscribe to, but some I could follow!

I also wanted to tell you that I'm reading the latest Jack Reacher novel!
Now there's a guy I could go for, if he was real!
Love those books!
A tad gruesome, but when Lee Child has a new one coming out, I just e-mail my Reacher Report to my librarian!
His brother Andrew Grant is no slouch either. I keep e-mailing a contest with 'I Wanna Die Twice' in the subject line, hoping I'll win his next novel. I'm such a dork!
I'll let you know how that goes! hahaha

Better go, need my beauty sleep so I can keep up with those youngsters tomorrow night!

Ta ta for now!
