I tried to sit outside with my beer by the fire, and after sitting in the woodshed twice, I decided I'd come in!

I thought I'd share the Canada Day cards I made last month for Kalen & my mom.
I took mom's to her, but Kalen's might have to wait until next year, because of the strike!

I made them both the same!

They're Secret Reveal cards, and I'm not going to go on & on about what a pain in the a$$ they were to make; just suffice it to say it's probably the first & last time I make them!

I've been busy cleaning & putting things away since I came home.

Think I'll bake later, maybe have a nap!

I'm reading a good book too.

T is for Trespassing, by whoever writes those alphabet books!

It is pouring rain again right now!

We have an old John Deere push mower that lives in the cat house (garden shed)!

I use it to mow around the fruit trees at the back;

as it's ususally too wet to get the big mower over there.

A couple evenings before I left for vaycayshun, I fired it up to do just that.

Imagine my horror, when I engaged the blade;

there was a God awful noise & something went zing passed me & Shadow!

I carefully tilted it up to see underneath, and there was only 1/2 the mower blade!

Arghhhh!

And of course I was wearing my usual lawn mowing attire of shorts & flip flops!

So I told Ray....."You're lucky I'm standing here on 2 legs talking to you!"

I told him what happened, and he. got. mad!?

WTH!

I told him that even if I had been wearing proper attire,

the blade would have done some serious damage, and "why are you mad!?"

It's his job to keep things serviced & full of gas, and I'll use them!

'Cept for the gas guzzling Stihl whipper snipper!

That takes about 3 or 4 tanks to do the whole yard!

Only holds a cup or 2 of gas I'm sure!

I know how to fill the chainsaw too........but I digress!

This came about cause I once put diesel in something that took gas.

Not.My.Fault.

I don't know the difference, and we do have felt pens to mark the jugs!

And some is mixed gas...you know!

Anyhooo, the mower still doesn't have a whole blade on it!

I DID get my thyme planted today!

And 1 petunia, my friend gave me!

And the laundry's done!

And I know what I'm making for supper!

And if it keeps raining I'll just HAVE to play with some of my new toys I bought on vaycayshun!

Gosh I missed you!
Okay, here come the requisite vacation photos!

This was in Montana! Which begs me to say, "Ya know yur a redneck when....."
And his wooden stock racks had a for sale sign painted on them!

I really liked this boot quilt at the Amish Auction sale in Rexford, Montana.

This next one is called Broken Compass.

(Sorry Daniel's in the way, they were selling a few rugs.)

Mom's neighbor was building a smudge!

Not really, but I guess he mows his grass, not all at once, and lights it!

These next 2 were trees cut down on someones front lawn!

An old friend from town, who lives in the pass, in a continuing care facility.

She won't remember I was there, but I know I was!

Fun was had by all!

Even thought the sun didn't shine for more than a couple hours!

Told mother next time we go to the sale in Montana, we're going to Libby for a sleepover!

We did the tourist thing in town, I got stuff to plant from a greenhouse or 2.

Shopped in Idaho, in Bonner's Ferry & Sandpoint.

Ate at a few new places.

Went up to Crawford Bay, up past the Glass House, to the Forge, where the girls do this enameling!

We got to watch Helene make some Christmas ornaments!

It's a fun artsy place to go on a drizzly day!

Was back & forth across the line for gas & beer! hahahaha

My yard is jungle, as it's rained for 40 days & 40 nights....ok, not really, but it looks like it!

The gardens are doing awesome, I hung up the new flag for Canada Day coming up!

I got a whole whack of scrapbooking stuff, I tell ya, Rocky Mountain House has a great store called Scribbles & Giggles, and they have a bit of everything!

Spent all my allowance there!

And the aunt I made the quilt cards for........

Actually whipped up a square of the top left one!

She belongs to a group that makes quilts for people with cancer, and they're always looking for easy patterns!

So, it'll take a while, but I'll get back in the groove, I'm anxious to try out some of my new toys!

I haven't been creating cards lately, but I DO have new stamps & paper to play with!
This is what it was doing Friday morning when I got up!

I just washed 20(!?) loads of laundry today, cause I had everything in the house out to cover the gardens, flowers, shrubs, etc. for the last 2 nights!!

Sheets, blankets, towels! YOI!

I also took this picture of the Wild Rose.....the snow & cold didn't seem to bother them!

Yesterday I spent the day in Peace River.

Just let me have a pity party, sob story.....whatever, then it will be out of my system!

Yesterday was the fifth time I took my vehicle in to get the cruise control fixed.

I have a new computer, a couple new switches for Lord knows what,

and I still don't have cruise control!

I know, I know, that's kinda petty of me when so many others have bigger problems, and I get it.

Makes me happy that no cruise control is ALL I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT!

I go on holidays on Thursday.....I really needed cruise control!

Okay, I think I'm done!

Still have the damn dust problem too!

K, really, that's it!

Ray's seeding the back 40.

My internet's not working properly, so I can't look back to see if I've told you this already....just chalk it up to age!

I've been helping him fill the seed drills.

All 16 or 18 feet of them.

I did ALL the laundry today.

Made a rhubarb crisp, rhubarb cream pie, and an ordinary rhubarb pie, that's going to the freezer tomorrow!

I made a lasagne, hauled boards over from the back 40 to build boxes for our rhubarb, Ray's sister came for supper. I helped fill the seed drill. For. The. Last. Time.

Had my jacuzzi, with a glass of wine left over from supper!

Okay, if you don't laugh at these next pictures I'll give you a really good rhubarb crisp recipe!

I never said I was a dog groomer!

Poor Shadow is bothered by fleas, and yes, her and I have had our treatment for the month, but she's so matted, I got some flea powder, and we've been cutting hair, and rubbing the powder in!

She's pretty good, she sits real nice most of the time, and she gets up & leaves when she's had enough.

The line under her collar!?

She scratched most of her hair off, right down to her hide, so I give her a brush cut under her collar, almost up to her ears!!

I think she's way cooler!

Okay, here's the recipe!

Rhubarb Crisp

6 Cups washed, dried & diced rhubarb

3 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup flour

1 1/2 cup sugar

2 Tbsp. Butter or Margarine

3/4 cup whipping cream

2 cups brown sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1 cup margarine

4 tsp. Cinnamon

Mix eggs, flour, sugar, butter & cream together; mix in rhubarb and put in greased 9 X 13 baking dish.

Mix remaining ingredients together, and spread on top.

Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Enjoy........it's our favorite rhubarb crisp, and I'm always giving out the recipe!

I made it on paper in Publisher, then copied it onto cardstock.

So I whipped him up a card, hopefully it makes him smile!

I stamped the darn sentiment the wrong way on the tag!

I guess it's the right way if you pull it out left handed!

Earlier this week, Ray & I went to the back 40 to look for buffalo skulls;

we found 3 in not too bad shape.

Shadow comes along for the run!

When we got back to where the tractor was, Shadow needed to cool off by sitting in the slough!

Then she actually laid in it, but that picture wouldn't load!

Sunday I mowed grass & whipper snipped.

Okay, I caused a dust storm with the mower!

So far this week after work, I've put a top on my gardens, they're raised beds....damn cats think they're huge kitty litter boxes until the stuff grows!

I put a solar light in the outhouse!
I've watered the gardens and flowers daily!
Dug out the hammock, was going to get the swing, but it's a 2 man job!
Had supper with a friend last night, and went & cleaned the flower beds at the library with 3 other Friends of the Library, and the librarian. Big job......I'm tired & hurtin today!
They are full of perennials, overgrown & straggly at the same time!
Went to my friend Stellas & got some rhubarb!
Today I've done the dishes & scrubbed the siding by the back door, but whatever's on it is NOT coming off!
I think I'm done!
Might just look at the mail or read....and of course I'll be watering things if it doesn't rain!
I've even heard the S word for tomorrow or Saturday! (snow)
