Saturday Shmaterday!

I started out by being in town at 9 AM for my hair appointment.
Ya, it was time!
I got some groceries, visited with a friend, came home, and just now shut er down!
And this can't be too long winded, cause Earth Hour's coming up!
The snowmen all got put away (maybe Spring will come now!), all that's left out is a sleigh with a Christmas teddy bear that needs a home!
I spent forevah on the phone with the not so   helpful people at ACNielson Homescan, both before my appointment, and when I got home!
Guess they're sending me a new scanner! One that plugs into my phone line this time....I can't transmit my info anymore on the computer!
Did a load of laundry, cleaned a bathroom, took out the garbage, checked the stove, vacummed, cooked supper, and the dishes are done! So am I!
Found out today that my Monday meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday, there goes dinner out and one baby shower! I've already rescheduled dinner, and I'll take the shower gift to the babys grandma!

I don't have a lot of pink paper!? (Sorry Bonnie, I've got nothing against pink!)

I checked the The Weather Network, and it says it should warm up by Tuesday.....I'll keep you posted!

Our last Stamp Club was earlier this week, here's what we made.

The flower is covering up a mistake (really; can you believe it?), but I think I'll put a button there,

cause I want it for a guy birthday!

This next one was for Easter; I turned it into a Sympathy card.

Only because I know what I'm making for Easter cards!

This one was fun, it's done with chalk.

So was the background for this one!

Now this next card is a 2 in 1!

One of Vanessas' friends she went to school with is pregnant.

Her mom is having a shower for her next Friday.

I needed a baby card.

Last weekend her and her boyfriend got married, so now I need a wedding/shower card.

So one side is 'For The Newlyweds', and the other side is 'Hello Baby'!

I thought it was pretty clever!

The ribbon on the side holds an insert, which has a whole lot of Congratulations, and Best Wishes stamped on it!

Turned out pretty cool I thought!

I got pillows for the wedding shower part, and a bunch of baby stuff in white, green, and yellow......oh yeah, and a pair of tiny red and blue ELMO socks cause they were cute!

Another one of Vanessas' friends just had a baby girl, her shower is Tuesday, so I'll be making another card, and buying pink stuff......she has a boy, so I'll get him a little something too!

Sure hope these babies aren't catchy!

We always bug Vanessa, she had a dog, it ended up at my house all the time; I had to find it a new home.

I tell people; "Vanessa can't have a baby, she had a dog, and left it here, so I gave it away!"

She lived in town at the time, and it wasn't fair to the dog.

When it was here it wouldn't stay, so had to be tied up, and that wasn't fair either.

She went to a good home.

Working on a few other projects, gotta catch up on my blog reading......

I'm really a gamer, so now you know how I've been spending my time on the internet!

Nope I don't gamble, just play free games!

Haven't heard from Kalen for while.

Stephanie, from Germany was visiting, I think she went home yesterday,

so maybe he'll have time to call his mother!

He ships out again next week on The Calgary, he's pretty excited!

Skip this first long paragraph if you think its`something crafty, cause it`s not!
So I'm having issues at work. I.KNOW!
It's with the mechanic.
I bother him.
I'm not sure why, cause he's over in the shop, but I do.
He comes to the office 2-3 times a day, and he's cranky.
He's a glass half empty kinda guy.
He complains about the stuff he has to fix, which I think is a tad hypocritical; it would be like me complaining that I HAVE to do payroll, or the invoicing, or getting the mail.....see where I'm goin here.....IT'S.MY.JOB!
I asked him Friday for a copy of his drivers licence.
He ignored me.
Our insurance is due, and as we have a fleet, we have to send copies of everyone's drivers licence to the insurance company. I don't see a problem with it. I had to include mine this year.
Today.....on his ONLY trip to the office while I was there.
Me: "Can I get a copy of your drivers licence?"
Him: "What for?"
Me: "Insurance needs it."
Him: "What; you wanna see if I have an impaired?"
Me: "Do ya?"
Needless to say, that was the end of that conversation.
One of my GF's told me to kill him with kindness.
Today..........I just wanted to kill him!
Today when I came back from town, the invoicing I was working on this morning (at a different desk, cause the guys check it), was moved, and someone had been through the stuff ON my desk.
I thought I could handle this, but I'm deciding he's a cry baby and a trouble maker, and I'm watching my ass!
Last Friday he called K, who's out in the bush, who called D, who is out in the bush, and D called me.
HELL O! Walk across the yard dammit! Or call ME!
He told me about his problem that afternoon on a trip to the office anyway!?
Alrighty, I think I'm done venting.
I think he's the one with issues!
I'm gonna put my big girl panties on and deal with it!
I'm gonna suck it up!
I`ll think of something!

That`s both sides of that paper out of my stash......I`m trying to use it up, how else can I justify getting new double sided paper!?

I`m working on some Thinking of You , or something cards right now....also with paper out of my stash!

Here`s Mr. Luck moving snow; as it`s been snowing off & on all weekend; so the propane truck can get in sometime this week!

We`re down to 5% propane, and I didn`t have to threaten him with the `You know what'll happen if there`s no hot water for a shower one of these mornings?"
It`s an empty threat any how, cause he probably doesn`t like cold showers any more than I do!

That tractor is stuck down the drive way on the other side of the road, in the ditch right now!
I didn`t laugh or anything.
He phoned me, and I took the pickup down there, and let him hook a chain up to the pickup, and let the tractor swing me around into the other ditch when the pickup wouldn`t pull the tractor out!

I did laugh all the way home though, as Shadow and I walked up the driveway (1/4 mile), and Ray went to see if the neighbor`s home!

Made me feel better.
It was right after my rant!
I`m still smiling!
Only I`m hoping no one comes to visit, as the drag the tractor was pulling is in the middle of the driveway, I used the pickup to pull it off the road!
The drag is a big ugly triangular thing, made out of metal, it moves the snow to the side as the tractor pulls it.
Better go!
At least it`s warmed up, no more -30 I`m hoping!

CCAYR-March Challenge

Holy Moly, thought I'd never get here!
Ray's done the log haul, so there was pizza & beer tonight up at the shop...of course I went.....I gotta eat!
It's nice to catch up with people you might only see a couple times a year!

I was up at 5:50 this morning...I KNOW!
Got my coffee and was heading for the pump house.
Didn't get farther than the step, when I realize Shadow's barking like some possessed rabid dog; I can hear snorting & grunting, it's pretty dark out; and I'm thinking OMG, this is just like a horror movie, you can't see anything, and don't know where it's coming from!
A few minutes later, as I'm freezing my butt off (-26C this morning kids, with a wind) on the step in my hoodie & housecoat, I hear the unmistakable tink of something going over the fence.
Oh great, now for sure I don't know if it's coming or going!
Then out of the dark, here comes Shadow wagging her tail, so whatever it was, she thinks she's chased it out of the yard.....and out to the pump house I go.

IN THE YARD, that's the front end of the quad on the left.
Mr. Luck didn't get it put away in the shed last fall.

This is what I did for fun last night.

I love going to these classes!
We had a guy in the class, and in the little patch of grass on the left!?
He put in a little wooden cross, and told us, "the trapper died."
This painting is a particular type, as it fades off (sort of) to the side, and doesn't go all the way to the edges of the frame, but for the life of me, I can't remember what!
Anyhoo, she'll do another 2 classes next month, and by then I'll be done stamp club, so maybe I can do both!

And remember I wanted to show you what I was doing with Kalens' BD card?!
Here's the mess....and I'm still cleaning ink out from under my nails!

You take a large stamp, stamp with versamark, and emboss it with clear EP.
Then you brayer, or sponge, or however you wanna get your ink on there, cover the whole thing!
The pieces to the right and left of the stamped pieces are what the original paper looked like!
I'm tellin ya, I had ink.all.over!

This is the finished product.

It's a twisted easel card.
Remember, he likes to display his cards on his desk and brag, so I'm only helping him along by making ones that stand on their own!
I know, I've got the blue and green going on again!
Started with navy, but his favorite color is green, and there's green in the words...........

And just so ya know....he finished his course today in Naval Communications!
I think now he'll be an Able Seaman, instead of Ordinary Seaman.
Not that he ever was 'ordinary'!

We got him a gift certificate for the Old Spaghetti Factory, as Stephanie (girlfriend from Germany) is visiting him right now.
They are sending the gift certificate directly to him, so I printed off a Menu to put in with his card.
I'm thinking of trying to see if I can get some of those side images off the net to color for a card...wouldn't that be cool!? Maybe make them bigger on a printer......? Just sayin!

Everything's good in my little world, other than blowing some snow off the paths this weekend, think I'll be crafting.

So I had to put the card making on hold to whip up some sympathy cards.
I have the O/S's birthday card on the go, and my March cards for the CCAYR site.

Not sure if the ribbon goes, but it was what was handy.

I think I need to stockpile Sympathy cards the way things are going.

I had some new stamps to play with for the inside, and this Medallion stamp is one of my favorites....I actually had it out to use on Kalens BD card.

I did make some of the quilt cards.

Nothing like Curt's over HERE!

But I'm happy with them, and I think my quilter aunt will be too!

I used my Cricut to cut out 1 inch squares cause *horrors I don't have a 1" punch!WTH!

So I used the left over pieces for kind of a frame. They're 5X5".

A bunch of us were supposed to go for dinner tonight to celebrate a GF's birthday.
At 4:30 pm.
She texted me at 3:26 pm, to cancel, said she'd had a bad shift at work.
I had to try to remember who I'd asked, cause we made this date a week ago.
Then I texted her and asked if she wanted company for a while, then at 4:01 pm, I texted, "alrighty, going home now, and I shut my phone off."
Not sure what's going on. Maybe I shoulda phoned her!?
Don't ya think that after a bad day at work, you'd wanna go out with friends?!

Guess I'll have to show you the technique when I've got it together.....apparently blogger thinks I've uploaded enough pictures, and is NOT co-operating!

Shadow was barking at this guy yesterday morning.
He was just inside the neighbors fence.

It was just getting light out, and I must have been shaky!
I found his tracks this afternoon coming up our driveway, so he's hanging around!
Gawd, I'll have to make sure I don't run into him on my way for morning coffee at the pump house!

Better go, it's getting to be my bed time! ha

It takes longer & longer every day to get into my craft room!
I think it's because it's staying light out longer!
And it's even warmed up a tad!
Only in the minus 20s!
I FINALLY finished my moms St. Patrick's Day card!
Hope you like it......I had a lot of fun with it!

I started with the blue because of the background I used with the  House Mouse stamp,

then decided OMG, I need some green!

So I made the flower, and gathered the ribbon with a stitch down the middle.

I LOVE this sheer ribbon, I think I picked it up out of a bargan bin at Michaels.

This is Buster.

He's my sidekick at work!

He's been coming in, and I let him because it's so cold out.

He has to stay on the rug, but sometimes his big head ends up on the floor,

cause for some reason he has to be able to see me!

He's HUGE, makes me smile, and reminds me of the flying dog (or whatever) in The Never Ending Story, which I have!

I've had them since the kids were little. 

Kalen told me once that he never liked those movies, he just watched them cause I liked them!

Buster came from the SPCA, and hated all the guys for the longest time.

He now is friends with almost everyone.

He still won't sleep in his dog house though.

Sure makes you wonder what abuse some of those animals go through before someone rescues them.

These 2 old graneries are on the way to work!

It's getting light earlier, and was a little cloudy, but I managed to get a good shot!

Most of which was on sale, so I figure it made up for the shipping.
