RIP Mr. Mandela.
I'm just checking in........I'm going to get it off my chest.
I had my pity party last night, then put my big girl panties on, and got on with things!
Sorry to everyone who will think this is petty..........
"I'm emotionally and mentally exhausted.
So the next person to P!$$ me off, and I snap, and beat them to a pulp.....
Please come bail me out."
I smiled every time I thought that in the last week!
I don't know where to start.
Believe me, I know some of you have REAL battles you're fighting, but this is my 'normal' life this past week!
I only know that you want to be on TEAM GAIL when the Zombie Apocolypse happens.
I'm not sure what that is, but Kalen and his friends seem to be waiting for it!
We'll start with the weather today.
We made the news!
It was -40 something with the windchill.
No school today.
It's been really cold the past week.
I KNOW, it's WINTER;
we're used to it, just hate the wind with it!
My dryer thinks it should catch fire...........
We're only allowed to dry the clothes 20 minutes at a time.
Ordered a new one, should be here tomorrow.
Kalen's renters moved out.
Can you say OMG disaster????
Vanessa helped clean a couple nights.
We went out with the gf's Wednesday for a break in the cleaning.
I said, "I don't know the last time I cleaned 2 years of teenage grunge off of a shower & toilet.
Oh wait, NEVER, cause it never got that bad!"
D said, "Are you going home after supper?"
Me. "NO, I have to finish cleaning a bathroom, then I'm going to burn my clothes!"
I told Kalen I had to buy about a dozen light bulbs.
He said, "Why? Are they burnt out?"
Me, "No, there's none in the sockets!"
We found gum stuck everywhere, and girls underwear....they have a 14 year old.
I think she's the gum chewer, she's for sure the underwear hider....that kid has serious issues!
I was at Kalens cleaning on Monday night,
when Ray called( they've started the log haul), "We've got no water"
Me, "WHAT?"
Ray, "I got home at 3:00 and there was no water, I went to bed to get a couple hours sleep, and there's still no water."
Me, "Call the plummer, they must have an emergency line."
He calls me back, "They'll be here at 8:30 tomorrow morning."
When Vanessa & I got home from town, I crawled under the house & thawed the water line!
When the plummer came, I told him I'd waited for them since September, and they weren't leaving until I had
heat trace on my line!
It's done!
I've stayed at work until 7 or later last Friday night, and tonight.
Last week I said, "I hope you know I'm missing Happy Hour at the OFH for this!"
I worked at the drug store again last Saturday.
One of the kittens was stuck to a sledgehammer in the shed.
Must have stuck it's paw in the heated water dish, then stepped on it.
I rescued the little hisser & spitter by pouring warm water on it's little foot.
Had my gloves on so picked it up, it was purring in about 5 seconds!
I moved all the metal away from the water bowl.
That's like sticking your tongue to metal when it's cold out!
A crown came off my tooth, and I tried to get to the dentist....100 miles away for a week!
Last Thursday it was pouring rain.
Below 0 and raining is not a great combination!
My next appointment was Monday; it was blizzarding.
Vanessa had to take me to work I couldn't get out of the yard.
I managed to get there on Wednesday.
The roads were snow packed & icy, but no rain or blizzards!
Last night, my last cleaning night; the place is rented until April,
I called my friend P & said, "I'm coming to pick you up, grab your level & tin foil.
The level was to level the fridge that isn't even a year old,
and the tin foil was for the bottom of the oven.
I just couldn't scrub anymore!
The light bulb was broke off in the oven, I had to pull it out & unplug it to get it out!
I just have one question....."How do people live like that?"
It isn't yours so you don't want to look after it?
I wore out one of those magic eraser things on one tub & toilet!
This place has a built in vacum....doubt it was ever used.
I picked up the rent, the entry was always tidy & clean...that's as far as I got.
She's one of those people who's always in pyjama pants.
I just don't get it!?
I'm sure the oven was clean when they moved in.
In fact so were the bathrooms, and windows, and floors. and laundry room, and everything else!
I shoveled the driveway, the deck, then quit!
Told Kalen to find out landlord rights,
cause I'm gonna turn into the landlord (property manager) from hell...
there's gonna be monthly, maybe weekly inspections!
And yes, I WILL wear white gloves!
All this, and still the cats got fed & watered, and Shadow.
The stove outside got filled.
I was supposed to take my peeps from the OFH to Peace River to Walmart tomorrow.
Ain't. gonna. happen.
They don't dress appropriately, and it's still gonna be cold!
I've got stuff to do!
Rays sister sells real estate, and she was looking for something different for her clients for Christmas, guess who's supposed to be making 25 somethings for next week?
I'm also making cookies for Daddy & Me at the library on Thursday.
Last night Vanessa called me.
"Are you coming home?"
"Yes I'm coming home, why, is the house on fire?"
( I used to ask them that if they called me at work when they were little!)
Vanessa, "No, my key is stuck in the lock."
Me, "Are you in the house?"
Vanessa, "Yes."
Me, " Then don't worry about it!"
I picked up a new one today, and tried to install it, but the screws are wonky!
It's going back to the store, and they can try to screw them in where they belong!
Same old, same old!
Okay, I'm done!
I'm just exhausted!
It can only get better...right? RIGHT?
I have a wine & cheese party tomorrow night,
and I'm hoping to catch the movie at the theatre on Sunday.
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!
