Happy Saturday peeps!

It's all good, and I hate to repeat myself, but life is really getting in the way this year.
I'd say summer.......but.......... (insert maniacal laughter here!)

Since I posted last I have had

- Vanessa's birthday supper

 

She got her quilt from last years Amish Auction sale

 

We got a puppy at work....her name is Cardi, (short for Bacardi), no we didn't get to name her.

She likes to sleep in the boot tray, and yes, her face is in my shoe!

 

 

 

I got the lawn mower stuck..........hahahahaha

 

 

Made a card for a shower!!

 

 

I've also:

 

- Took the seniors at the home to the 2 local greenhouses to get their flowers

- Drove the handivan for the community run

- I DID get the lawn mowing & whipper snipping done

- Sprayed the dandelions/ I'll be doing that again....tis the season

- Been to Peace River with Ray for an appointment

- Went with Vanessa to the lawyer (twice) to sign Kalen's mortgage over to her

- Been on the phone trying to get my cracked window replaced before warranty is off

- Was on the phone with the satellite people, cause both receivers quit one week;

we had no TV for almost 2 weeks, which didn't affect me! 

- Planted the garden

- Wednesday dinners with the gf's

- Firepit Fridays

- Caught my fingers in a log when I was using the wood splitter

And a million other things too numerous to mention!

 

Today on the agenda is:

 

The shower I made the aforementioned card for

Building a garbage stand for the house in town

Shopping at the hardware store

Buying some peonies & strawberries.....mine winterkilled!

I'm sure there's a firepit in there somewhere.....with a beverage!

 

Better go, the laundry awaits!

Good Morning peeps!
Here in Canada it's a long weekend, so I AM getting my day between Saturday & Sunday this week.
Still won't be enough!

I'm going to show you the card I made for Vanessa's BIG 3-OH, then you can get on with your day!

Her birthday's tomorrow.

She should be on her way home from Edmonton right now,

where she went for her 11th Backstreet Boys concert!

Happy Birthday to her!

I am making a Strawberry Angel Food Trifle sometime today,

(that should look EXACTLY like the link!)

and steaks will be marinating!

 

We had a blizzard 2 weeks ago tomorrow.

NO.KIDDING!

A full on howling winter blizzard.

 

This is what happened to the bottle tree.

 

And the swing.

 

The bottle tree has gone back for warranty,

and the swing has been moved to a more sheltered location,

after living in that spot every year for about 6 summers!

 

The moose that hung around the yard all winter tasted EVERYTHING!

 

Mountain Ash.......

 

Russian Olive.....

 

And anything else it wanted to!

 

The renovations are coming along....

The kids were gone last weekend so I primed & painted the spare room...

This week I cut wood for the closet bars, they need to be painted,

Ray & I moved the sidewalk blocks to the sidewalk,

I picked up a tub surround, and new shower for the bathroom.....

Vanessa put her back out over a week ago....

so she's frustrated.......

 

The papers were signed for her to take over Kalen's mortgage payment....

I will not be the property manager anymore. YAY!

Kalen is being released from the Navy in August and will go to school...

Reclamation.......I'm sure it has another name, but it eludes me!

He says, "When going to college or university, you're punished if you own Property, a car, etc."

You aren't eligible for any grants, scholarships, or what have you.

 

It has been so cold here!

This morning was the first morning I could sit outside with my coffee

WITHOUT a coat on!

We are JUST getting leaves on the trees!

 

Firepit Friday has become a survival of the fittest!

Lined hoodies, with the hood up,

long pants WITH shoes & SOCKS.

Mittens, blankets, and a roaring fire!

Last night I started a fire, and it was wonderful,

til the sun went down, then we needed a coat,

but I DID have short pants on!

 

I got my potatoes planted,

the gladiola & dahlias are going in today.

The strawberries need to be moved to their new bed.

There's an awful pile of rocks on my lawn from the yard being cleaned out this winter.

We've all had turns raking them off;

and NOT complaining,

cause we need the snow removed.

 

Been cleaning the yard,

removing and cutting up fallen trees,

getting out the lawn mower,

putting away the snow blower!

Cleaning out sheds,

picking up crap that blew all over.......

The usual Springy stuff,

only we haven't had SPRING!

The farmers are complaining.....

that's a given.........

 

Better go, the sun is shining!!!

CCAYR May Challenge

These flowers showed up on my desk one day!
Me: "Is it my birthday"?
Boss: "NO"!
Me: "Hmmm, Easter's over...........what's the occasion"?
Boss: "Happy Administrative Professionals Week"!

Friday of that week I was sending emails to another boss ( I now have 5).........
Boss: "What are you doing"?
Me: " Forwarding emails".
Boss: "Just send them......"
Me: "I'm taking all the crap out so he doesn't get confused; I'm such a good secretary"!
Boss: "I. KNOW! That's why you got flowers"!
hahahaha, it's great to be appreciated!
I also got a bonus last week.............I'm LOVING my job!

Anyhoo.........that's at work!

The weather's been crappy..............
This comes to mind!



It snowed and/or rained for 4 days.............

 

My usual 10 minute drive to work took 1/2 hour on these roads!

 

 

The yard...............

 

My heavy bridge I built last fall; no one thought would move...........

 

We had to sandbag at Kalens house..........

The gutters were falling off the house next door/ to the right.......

I "borrowed" them!

We need to do some serious landscaping back there to get the water to stay off the cement pad that's up there to the right.

It needs to be built up by the house & forced to go LEFT!!!

It's on the list!

 

 

The reno's are moving slowly!
Every time we do something, we find something else............
Oh well, no one said it would be easy!
Pulled the carpet up in the orange room, and found water stains..........
It's all dry, but I'm hesitant to put the laminate down.

 

The bathroom is next door to the left,

it will get a tub surround.

Vanessa's in the process of taking over the mortgage payments from her brother.

I told her my contract was up when I did what I told Kalen I would do.

Didn't mean I wouldn't help...................

I've stopped going there on weekends.

Cause I'm tired, and I need to get my own stuff done!

 

Last Saturday night Ray & I went to Peace River to see Calvin Vollrath!

It was wonderful, and a welcome break!

 

The bottle tree got installed in it's home last Sunday in the cold & the MUCK!

(See, not a leaf in sight!)

 

 

Shadow got her annual hair cut & pedicure yesterday!

I plugged her bed back in so she wouldn't freeze!

 

Yesterday I scrapbooked (finally) the pictures we got at Christmas to get rid of THIS:

 

 

Sat in my kitchen for a few weeks!

Doesn't matter that I used one of these:

 

 

Hahahaha, oh well, they're done & cleaned up!

I'm going to get dressed & make cookies, the kids will be here later for

'Sunday Supper'!

 

Ray's working, he hauls 1 load of gravel a day, takes about 5 hours,

and that's about all he feels like doing.

Has another doctors appointment this week

His sister's been taking him.

They got more tests back;

he needs testostorone shots,

his levels are down and it was explained that it would be like PMS-ing ALL.THE.TIME.

That would explain the moods!

He also has to get his sugar intake under control NOW before it turns into diabeties.

He's supposed to eat 3 "normal" meals a day, and no snacking!

At least not on junk food!

And STOP adding 1/2 a cup of sugar to each cup of coffee!

I've been making Refrigerator Porridge for him for breakfast;

on today's menu is Blackberry & Honey!

I'm not a porridge person, but I even tried it, and didn't mind it!

He warms his up for 30 seconds.

 

So there you have 'The Rest of the Story'!

Ha, you're caught up!

I might even get to play in the craft room today............

We'll see!
