Allsorts Week 812/13 Anything Goes and/ or Use Your Dies

I have used Spellbinders Olive Martinis and Christmas Cocktails. 

This was labor intensive. 

Read...I lack patience! 

Backing paper is SU. On SU white card stock. Bugaboo sentiment on a banner die! After spending 2 days (I get sidetracked. A. Lot.) cutting everything out, trying to keep it together and put it together; I think these turned out fabulous and fun!

 

 

I was so impressed with these; 

Read.... I am a sucker for punishment!

 I made 2 more!

 

The sequins are hiding glue schmeers!!

I have moved and lost my glue erasers!

Allsorts Week 811 Lots of White!

I might have taken it literally! As I made one over here! Was easy to do another!

I have used a Shimmer White cardstock from SU. Which is not really white! Not when held up to other 'white' cardstock! The words (?) are layered. The bottom layer is a blue, and two white layers. EF is Crafters Companion, and trees from Tim Holtz (Sizzix). Enamel dots from my stash.

I have made another House Mouse card!

 

 

I have used a Stampendous stamp called Ornament Candy.

Colored with Ohuhu markers. Sentiment is Lawn Fawn. Glossy accents on the bauble. Used traditional red and green card stock. Green is embossed with an old SU folder.

I went to the Christmas light parade Saturday night! Was fantastic. We were at the beginning of 35 minutes of awesome smiles! Started pouring rain just as we were leaving, so pretty sure the people watching way up the street were soaked.

It's been a real busy time! Of course I am not telling you anything you don't already know! Tuck Shop tomorrow; haircut, my car goes to the shop! Have to make my Greek pasta salad and rum balls for the pot luck supper on Thursday!Thursday is Scrabble, and a pot luck supper. Friday is a night out to see the Blossom Valley singers; Christmas songs! Saturday the library is hosting a free book page ornament making class. All supplies are included! And so on!!

Allsorts Week 810 It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It's Lynn hosting over at Allsorts today! Her theme is It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas! There's the Anything Goes option too!

 I have used AALL and Create Jingle Dreams. I stamped and colored with Ohuhu markers.  I masked the image and used a SU star stencil. I blended yellow through the stencil, then used Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze. The panels of SU cardstock are cut with Stampendous dies; and the back panel was embossed with an old SU folder called Divine Swirls. Gold twine, a stitched button from my stash, and a Creative Expressions sentiment. That's strategically placed over a schmeered star! My stencil stuck!

My card went to Mia in Greece!

I went with the color scheme, and friendship!

I used shimmer white from SU, spellbinders die, SU EF, words(?), and Tim Holtz trees! Clear dots from my stash, oh, and the one in the aperture.....fell there so had to stay! Sticky little suckers!

It is called Holiday Travel. Colored with Ohuhu markers.Rims and trim were colored with a metalic pen. Glossy Accents on the windows and lights. Some shimmery paint on the snow/ road, and a few gems. Image is popped up and put on  stampendous die cut paper and cardstock. Background is from a 6 X 6 pad of Carta Bella or Echo Park (old).

Allsorts Week 809

I have used 2 EF from SU. Bottom one is called Petals a Plenty.

I also inked up a new to me Poinsettia die (Given to me in a sandwich bag)! I say inked up, as I left the die on and stenciled ink through! I had the snippet of snowflake paper in my Christmas 'stuff". It had silver snowflakes on it, so was perfect.

It's getting down to crunch time for Christmas cards! Go, make a card, before it's too late!

I have used one of my favorite sets! The stamp, dies and sentiment are from Brutus Monroe! I think it makes a wonderfully different card! Colored with Ohuhu Markers. I have used some puffy stuff from SU for the marshmallows! Paper is Echo Park or Carta Bella 6X6 pack. I actually just threw out the packaging, as my little paper pads won't stay together anymore! Stars from my stash!

 I fussy (shudder) cut out my House Mouse image. I die cut the boughs. Attached them all on paper from the $ Store, which was attached to a kraft card base from Chloes Crafts. Put a LOT of sparkly ornaments on the branches, glossy glaze on the lights, sentiment from Creative Expressions, and called it good!

I said I had a minute to play because here's what's been happening since the end of August! I delivered Bryson to his parents in Edmonton on August 30th! I don't even think they were home and he's already planning for next year!

In September my mom decided she was selling her house and moving to town. She found an apartment in a Seniors complex.

Her property sold in about 36 hours!

I had to find a place quickly! I had been looking, but the rental market is tough, probably like anywhere else. I looked at a place, said I would take it. The (very nice) people went on holidays to Hawaii, and when they came back, I started moving in. I have been here since October 18th, mom moved to her apartment on October 20th. 

Closing date for her house is November 30th.

She loves where she is! Gets 2 meals a day. Which meant she had to downsize big time! Her little one bedroom apartment might be 200-300 sq ft. Her house was almost 2000 sq ft!

We had a huge yard/ garage sale, but not everything from the house made it out!

I am here to tell you....those rooms and closets you never look in. Clean them out NOW! Honestly; because I moved in with my mom 3 years ago, I sold almost ALL my furniture. I still had things in boxes because I didn't need anything. I have a storage container; and every day lately there have been 3 boxes on my kitchen floor. I am being ruthless! One box is for storage, one box is for the Girl Guides and one box for the Thrift Store. I am happy to say that I can get 4-5 boxes into one for storage! Now I am digging all the Christmas stuff out. I look at it for a few days, and find most of it relegated to the Thrift Store box. We really don't NEED all that 'stuff'!

I love my little space, it's a one bedroom modular with TONS of light!

My craft desk, and majority of the crafty stuff is in my living area! It's the first time in 10 years I haven't had to sleep with it in my bedroom!

I am not in town, but I am closer to town!

I am on the river just out of town, can see two mountain ranges...and it's quiet!

So hopefully things slow down to 'normal' for me soon!

Christmas

It's Week 806 over at Allsorts, and Brenda is the host!

She has picked Christmas as the theme! There's also Anything Goes, if you're not in Christmas card panic mode yet!

A polite reminder: To protect possible copyright infringement, all entries must detail as a minimum the make/brand of products used (free from internet is not acceptable).

 

I found this sheet of DP; my scrapbooking, enabler friend had given me! I let it do the work! It was enough to make 2 cards! The green matches, just doesn't stand out like the purple!  I used an LDRS die with shadow; used a sparkly vellum for the shadow, colored cardstock and silver cardstock from Michaels. Background dies are Stampendous.

I sprayed the sentiments with a shimmer as the DP has a bit of sparkle.

Added some pearls, and called it good! Even did the insides with an LDRS sentiment!

Prize for this week are stamps and stencils from Lavinia.

This is a High  Hopes rubber stamp called Free Broom Rides. colored with Ohuhu markers. It's cut with a Spellbinders Wonky Square die. I did the background with a Carta Bella stencil. Added a piece of ribbon, a few enamel dots and done!

This week I have a cute frog!?

 

This is from my bi-monthly online card class. Stamps, stencils, and dies are from Spellbinders; and the set is called Jump For Joy! I have used Nuvo Glimmer Paste for the top left flower, and the water circles. I added blue glitter to the water, after making a mask and spraying it with Caribbean Blue Glimmer Mist. The cat tails have flocking on them. My frog also has a sparkly lily pad!

I was behind in my class; as I had my grandson all summer! Thank goodness for watching the live...later!

Prizes for this week are a Stampendous House Mouse stamp, and a stamp set from Oakley.

I used scraps from a 6 X 6 Echo Park pad. I cut them into 3/4" strips, and just started gluing them onto a base. I used a Martha Stewart fence punch, Tim Holtz cat and a Carta |Bella sticker sentiment. I put Cosmic Shimmer on the cat.

I had a go with my new Lavinia stamps! Don't worry, I will keep practicing!

 

I blended the background! Decided almost every scene I seen (see what I did there!) had a moon. Tried that out! Sorry, not sure what ink I used...purples, and a blue or two(SU and Close to my Heart)! A little yellow on the moon, and where the lantern stamps might fall! I stamped Forest Lanterns on either side. Stamped 3 of the 4 Fairy Foragers. Stamped my sentiment which is from Forever in Time. Random berry type things at the bottom is an SU stamp. Mushrooms are from Brutus Monroe, colored with Ohuhu markers. My white Perfect Pearls wouldn't work, so used a white enamel for dots!

 

Does anyone else want to touch your dots to see if they're dry!? I didn't do that!! Put it far away, as there was too much work invested already and didn't want to do it again! Used Glitter Glaze through a stencil from the moon down. Stencil is from Woodware called Mushrooms. Used yellow stickles on the lanterns, including the one the fairy is holding. Diamond stickles on the wings, which turned blue! But that's ok!

 

Whew! I need a lie down!!

Falling Leaves

I got the inspiration for this card off of Pinterest. 

Cause sometimes I got nuthin'!

 I have used a SU stamp set called Gently Falling. SU inks are So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Ruby Red and Rich Razzleberry.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Copper. Sentiment is SU stamped with Brutus Monroe Raven ink, clear embossed.

You can see the Glimmer! It's pretty IRL!

Using Glimmer Mist always stresses me out! I have the red- Cranberry Zing, that I save for Halloween, as it always looks like blood splatter!

Allsorts Week 800 Anything Goes

We have Sarn as a GD! 

In my travels this summer, picking up Bryson, and returning him; I got to go to some REAL craft stores!

On a piece of geli print, I used AALL and Create Light Bulbs #23(apparently discontinued), Power of the Word, (both probably available from stockists, (as I bought Lightbulbs in my travels this summer) and I butchered the die cuts from Nature's Doily! Why you ask....because the dies are HUGE! All attached to a Kraft card base.
