HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween everyone!
I've had 3 little Halloweeners, and that's probably all I'll get!
That's better than none, and makes me smile!
Plus, it's been getting pretty nasty out there! The wind is howling, and it's COLD!

The power must have went out last night at some point!
It wreaks havoc with the motion lights! I woke up to my clock flashing, and the yard lit up like an amusement park! Had to go out to the pump house and flip the breakers off, then on!

I LOVE my 'other' job on a Saturday!
Where else can you have Baileys with your coffee at 8:00 am? Well maybe camping!
Maybe I need to rethink the whole, "I can't do 8 hours Saturday and Monday thing!"
I was there until 12:30 pm.
Finished what I wanted to though, so will go back Monday!
I took the Martha Stewart witch lantern, and it was a big hit!
I'll let you know if the fake candle is still 'burning' Monday morning!

Happy hour at the OFH was busy last night.
Only Stella dressed up.....I tell ya, they're a bunch of party poopers!
I made a survey type thingy for my newsletter this time. I want to know what they want to do!
I only have one signed up, so far to go to Berwyn next Wednesday.

All I did when I got home was try to nap.
Didn't work though.
Only because I was trying to download the software for my scanner, and decided in order to not have it cancel or time out, I had to be on the computer.
I really would rather have had a nap!

It snowed a couple inches last night.
I didn't get to fire up the snow blower though, cause it was too warm and the snow was slushy! I didn't feel like throwing water!

I really hope to make some cards tomorrow!
I got all my treasures from the last Stamp Club!
Haven't used a darn thing yet!
I have an idea for a few cards.

I'm going to make supper, and a rhubarb pie, and some cookies.
I think I have a bucket of cookie dough left from the Play School fundraiser.
And speaking of fundraisers. We had a Silent Auction at the Library, and I bought something. Not sure what, Ray's not the best message taker. Even he said, "I should have had her call back and leave a message on the machine."!

I'm reading The Golden Compass, have I already mentioned that?
If I did, just chalk it up to where I work, and that it's catchy!  I didn't know that it was part of a trilogy!
But I do now, and told the Library to order in the next 2 for me to read. I'm liking it.

Martha Stewart Marathon Crafting is Over!

Done!
I'm done 4 lanterns....1 of which I gave away today, and the other 2 are going to their homes tomorrow!
The witch will come with me on Saturday!

Only took 3 nights, and a do over of one.

Hey people! Different sized frames.....so some of the pictures were different sizes!

And I really should be getting ready for bed instead of chatting with you!

Because I was Pissed Off angry at my peeps for not wanting to go to the Halloween party, I finished decorating today, and did up my newsletter and calendar.

Some times at work while I'm playing working on said newsletter and calendar on my computer, the little dialogue box on my e-mail starts flashing cause someone's sent me a message.

Now I have all my stuff set to 'busy' or 'offline' cause most of the time I really am! Well not offline so much, cause as long as my computer's on, I'm connected! I often get back to my computer with the little tabs flaching and someone going; "Are you even there!?"

Todays ims went like this:

D: "What are you doing?"

Me: "Calendar & newsletter."

D: "Do a good job with that. Hey do you know the password for (make something up here...like I'm gonna tell you!)

Me: "Isn't it on the password sheet?"

D: "Not in the one I sent you. Where's the password book?"

Me: "I don't know, but mine are on my desk on the left. Did you look in the file? It's an odd one, it's atmq something something."

D: "I got the file and it doesn't work, don't worry about it, I faxed them a letter asking for it."

A few minutes later.

D: "They sent a letter back saying you were the boss and could give it to me. Could you stop here after work?"

Me: hahahahahaha, really!? Yeah I can.

Another few minutes.

D: "What's your pets name and your first & last initial of your middle name?"

Me: "My initials are de, and you know my pets name."

D: " The d & e are working but not the pet...I've tried 3."

Me: " Does it say favorite pet? Cause sometimes I put the kids names in there?!"

D: "No, I've tried all that."

Me: "How many tries do you get? God, it's the internet, I could've been your dad or your brother when I signed us up for that! The possibilities are endless!"

D: " Unlimited tries.......I got it, it was case sensitive."

It shows him offline.

A few minutes later.

D: "Thanks"

Yup, never a dull moment at either place!

Mom called, she's on her way to Edmonton tomorrow, to look after my aunt that had the liver transplant.

Vanessa called...I got us the Reba tickets online.

Now I have to collect the moolah!

Better go!

34 Years

That's a long time hey!?
That's how long I've been married, our anniversary was on Sunday.
Ray went to work, and I did what I wanted!
Which didn't include cleaning the car, and it's snowing out!

Well I had Martha Stewart craft night last night and tonight, and made 3 of the Halloween lanterns. If you didn't click on a precious post and check them out, now's your chance!
They are TOO COOL!
I only did 3 cause I'm giving those away, and I'll do the witch for me to take to my 'other' job on Saturday(I know, I know, I'm only going for 3 hours tops!), and leave it on my desk in the window.
It'll look cool! And those fake candles are supposed to burn for a lot of hours!

I'll post pictures another night. I'm sooo tired! That's my usual lament, but I'm really disappointed with  my peeps at the OFH, and that makes me tired!
I only had 3 sign up to go to Fairview for the Halloween party, and I need 6.
Oh well, tomorrow when they want me to take them shopping, cause the bus isn't leaving town, I'm NOT!
I figure I can get my newsletter and calendar done. And finish hanging up the streamers and balloons for our party Friday night.
Although I am debating on whether I want to give up my Friday night after today!
Richard our maintenance guy said, "That's crazy, out of 50 people, 6 can't sign up to go?"
I guess not.
They're cranky there too.
Worried about H1N1.
They're past the due date for that one!

Kalens' friend Kendra  turned 20. Today was her birthday, along with our MLA Frank, and my youngest brother Larry!

Better go, have to find something to wear tomorrow, since I'm not wearing my costume!

Until I go to try something else, and it doesn't work!

We hauled wood this morning, then Ray had to go to work!

Stay At Home Saturday and a new computer!

I'm connected!
It only took several hours to transfer all the porn stuff off my old computer!
Not really, didn't take long at all! Worked like a charm that external hard drive!
Now I( just have to make sure I've got everything)....and I will between what's left of today and tomorrow.
Had to make a quick trip to town to the local computer store!
This new computer has no modem for dial up!
Can you believe it!
So I got it installed, spent a bunch more money while waiting, and then came home and hooked everything up AGAIN!
Then called "Thank You for Choosing Telus" cause I'd forgotten my password for the dial up connection!
That helpful soul told me dial up was ......get this...... "vintage!"
Yup....I told him "You know yur a redneck when.....!"
Guess I'll try wireless in the near future, after I check into how many millions they'll extort want for that. He told me it hooks to the USB port, yup, that's it, away you go!
Only IF, and that's a big IF, we have a really good cell phone connection!
I didn't bother telling him that when we moved here, and didn't have a REAL phone, we had to climb to the highest point of the yard (Just like in Green Acres)...sometimes it was the tractor tire to get cell reception!
And speaking about 'vintage', we had a bag phone for over a year! Anyone remember those?
Sure couldn't walk around with that!

I'm on my token 100 loads of laundry for the day. Okay, it's 4, fifth one going in right away!
Supper's in the slow cooker (stew), and bread machine (dill)!
I've done dishes, cleaned 1 bathroom, and not a lot else!

Oh, I did work on my Thank You cards I want to get done....that will be later today!
I did a bit on them when I got up this morning at 8:00 am. I might really like this 'Stay at Home Saturday'!

As I was hanging out the 4th load of laundry, cause it is kind of nice out, and it's really a blustery day, I noticed 2 dandelions fighting for their lives! Come on! It's getting to the end of October, we've already had a frost or 2 and snow even!

I passed up a cheap trip to Vegas with friends! Don't know if I mentioned this, but my friend Dianne called me at work yesterday and asked, "If I wanted to go to Vegas on November 9-14 really cheap with (insert a whole whack of girlfriends names here), for something like $399.00!

I said, "I can't." :(
I can't because
a) My baby needs a ride to Edmonton one of these days for some tests for the Armed Forces, Air Forces, or Navy, whichever one he's deciding on.
and
b) I'm hoping my mom will be in the city when we go!
I wanted to go from November 11-14th.
Kalen will have to wait until he hears from the powers that be in those departments!
He's fretting cause he hasn't rented out the top part of his house yet, and his friend Kendra is fretting cause she doesn't have a job at the end of the month!
I told them, "Everything will work out." It usually does.

Vanessa's friend is not coming until tomorrow with my latest Michaels treasure!
Too bad it wasn't today, cause supper's gonna be good.
But I'll be whipping up something tomorrow too!

TGIF....and a new computer!

It's Friday...and no, I haven't started drinking!
I shouldn't even be on here I have soooo much to do!
I needed a great font for the cards I was making, and had to use the computer for that!
Of course, I must be connected to the internet to do that! *wink wink Cause why sit here and just look through fonts?
How boring is that!?
And I had to catch up on a blog I follow!

I'm not going to my 'other' job tomorrow!
You heard me....it took me until yesterday morning to catch up on all the goings on in my life!
And I KNOW it took that long because yesterday was the first time all week I didn't wake up to my alarm!
Then again this morning I was up before the alarm went off',  so me being tired and cranky is not a pretty site my friends!
I just have a lot I want to do, and I'd like a little down time, where I don't have to do anything if I don't want to, and I like to bake and haven't done that forever! OK, I did last week, but I HAD to! Nope, I've just decided that 8 hours on Mondays at my 'other' job will have to do for a while!
I was ok working Saturdays AND Mondays, but that was before we aquired another company and got busier. I was only working 4-6 hours a day. But it's been 7-8 hours, and I'm getting worn out!
And I KNOW I'm only gonna be there Monday for 8 hours, because I have a meeting at 4:30 pm. (Oh God, here we go again)!

I made apple pies with my peeps at work today! I even made one to bring home! They said I could!
3 of the gals peeled and sliced, and I rolled!
7 pie in less than an hour! And the one I brought home is awesome!
We're making pie again next week, cause we have apples left!

I've got a new computer sitting on my kitchen floor.
I brought home my external hard drive from work...hey, hey, hey, before you get your shit in a knot about that let me finish!
Now, I brought my external hard drive home from work. It has everything on it from my computer there. I'm going to put the stuff I have on this; my personal computer on it.
I will then; transfer all my crap on to the new one, delete it off the EHD, and download the leftover stuff onto my old personal computer, which is then going to the OFH, cause the one I have now is a piece of crap! Of course I WILL have to remove all the porn  he he, ya whatever! It's card & scrapbooking sketches, a whole crapload of pictures, etc., etc. That will all come off, and I'll use this one at the OFH.
There's not a hope in hell that I would get a new one from the NPHF, cause mine was new, maybe 3-4 years ago! It freezes, it takes me an hour to get a sign up sheet made and printed off!
Imagine how fast I'll be doing my newsletter and calendar!

Well, better go, I want to finish some cards I've been working on, and I might have a drink yet!?

WalMart Wednesday

Today was the day I took my peeps to WalMart this month!
Always a laugh/ or 2/ or 3!
One of my guys bought $20.00 worth of gum, then didn't have money for lunch!
He was with a friend who bought his lunch though!
I asked if he had enough lunch. He said ,"yes!"
I DID tell him that I could have lent him money!

Then we went to the IGA.
One of the residents gets a certain kind of wool there.

Then thay talked me into going to Penningtons.
I've NEVER been!
It's just new to PR. It's where Reitmans used to be downtown.
All right! That store is as much fun as Northern Reflections!
I now have a Pennigtons 'PS Club Advantage' card!
And I bought a TO DIE FOR sweater, and some leggings.
I KNOW!
Should've saved all the legging I had when they were in style!
The nice helpful (of course) saleslady told me to wear the outfit with boots or slouch socks.
SLOUCH SOCKS! Are you guys listening....I told her I HAD some! I'm not a sock person all summer, but let it snow, and I need warm feet!
I did tell her that my slouch socks were neon colors, and no one ever sees them in my BIG farm boots!
She just said, "Get some black ones."
No sense of ha ha that one!
I can also wear the 'to die for' sweater with jeans. It's long enough to be a dress....if I were in my teens, which I'm not, in case you didn't know!

Then I had to go to the $ store in town. Needed some Halloween balloons to finish up the decorating at the OFH.
I DID look at WalMart! They didn't have what I wanted.


Coming home, I had a suprise.
You'll know from older posts if you're following this blog, (and I don't know why you aren't! hmmm?) that we got rid of the buffalo cause they wouldn't stay in the fence any more.
Well...this was the welcoming committee!

I was pulled off the road into the driveway!

They didn't go far though the rotters!

Hope they get back in their fence! He's the neighbor to the south west of us!

AVON was in, so sorted that and it's all out in the car already!

Took a while because I had to make some labels!

The teens at the Library are Fundraising for their Movie Night, so I got them the fundraising item through AVON.

Now it's in the book for pete's sake! So wanted to put stickers on the page, and send people to the Library or get them to call  for a set!

Better go, I'm finally catching up on my sleep! Not quite so tired!

I did really well at Stamp Club Monday.

I'll take a picture of everything I got, for not a lot of money!

Vanessas' friend Jeremy is supposed to be coming by tomorrow with my latest treasure from Michaels too!

I'm sooo excited!

I'd be even more excited if I could start on my craft room! Actually WalMart had a desk I liked, and some shelves...so I'll have to check out the prices at Michaels! I'll take pictures before I remodel!

There is no Arizona......

That's the subject I put in an e-mail to my friend that bought a house in Maricopa, Arizona!
I think she's spending a week a month down there!
Trying to plan a trip for March!

Had to pause and go supervise the dumping of the dirt!
We had water in the pump house this Spring.
I know, I know, we had all summer to get it there!
Well the last month, and I'm proud to say I've been nagging!
That's right, you heard it here first!
I was done asking, and started nagging!
I nagged again when I came home from work today, guess DH has heard enough, cause he came in and said, "where do you want this dirt."
Nope, I wasn't suprised! I was  the one trying to trench it away from the pump house.
Have I ever mentioned that we have gumbo!?
Not an easy task, that trenching!

Yesterday I didn't set my alarm.
Yes, I had to go to my other job, but I've just been exhausted!
I got there at 10:00 am, and left at 5:00 pm.
Got home to do a few things, and pack up my lunch, cause I WAS the Hostess with the Mostess last night at Stamp Club!
I think I did pretty good. She was going to call me today....I think she forgot about me!
We made cards....no, not one Halloween card!

I think I want NEED this stamp! It's called Dasher!

This was a fun card to make! The poinsetta type thingy is like a decoration! It's made with the BIG SHOT, and I don't need one, but I'd sure like one!

Dasher was done with embossing here! LOVE IT! Says she who was never going to get into stamping! Now she says, (with her fingers crossed behind her back)"I'm not gonna heat set anything!" I think it's coming! The embossing and the glitter!

This was a birthday card. I had to color....I think I colored out of the lines when I was in school too! But he's cute. I didn't stamp a sentiment inside, so will have to see what I have!

Oh yeah! Got home after 10:00 pm last night in the fog, and was hyper...you know how it goes! I finished my mom's Halloween card!
I used the spider I used on the buckets for the craft day at the lodge!

And here's the inside....I used the Pumpkin Patch stamps I got last month!

And the inscription says "Happy Halloween from our patch to yours." I got it in the mail today!

Now I'm off to see what's on TV. I am really not doing anything tonight except the dishes! hahahahaha

Well, since I'll be going to my room I might think of a card or 2! Or maybe make a card or 2, but hey, that's how I roll!

My back hurts....and I'd like some Cheese with my Whine!

I'm supposed to mention this give away on my Blog....so here goes Living Out Loud!

I took my peeps to the Harvest of Music last night in Peace River!
We almost didn't get to go, as I need 6 for a trip out of town, and 4 cancelled.
That left just 5 + me!
I made an executive decision and said ,"We're going anyway...I'm going to count myself!"
Then one of the residents changed their minds, and off we went!
We went to Smitty's for supper, and got to the Athabasca Hall at 6:20 pm, just like we were told to!
They had reserved seats for us right at the front!
I have a confession to make..........I'm not a Bluegrass or Country Gospel fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed last night!
All the Entertainment was AMAZING!
It was a wonderful evening, & by the time I unloaded my peeps and put the bus away it was 11:40 pm!
I did not get home until MIDNIGHT!
Funny thing was, just when I drove up to unload, there was a police pickup coming down the street!
He stopped to watch for a minute!
We laughed, and I said, "He probably thinks someone is stealing the Handi Van to go for a joyride!lol

Ray came home last night just after midnight.
I was reading in bed.
He said, "We shut her down early tonight. I didn't think you'd still be up!"
I said, "I just got home!"
Ray, "You were out with the residents until midnight?!"
Me, "Yup!"
And fun was had by all!

This morning I was running through my head what needed to be done today.
Bake for tomorrow, vacum, wash the floors, laundry, nap, etc., etc., etc!
 I must have did 100 okay 8 loads of laundry!
The last one just quit in the dryer! I hung most of them up outside.
Cleaned 2 bathrooms, and did the shower curtains & rugs!
It had to be clean sheet day today, because I wasn't home all day yesterday!
So did both beds, then did all the bedding on the spare bed! Well, I dunno, cause it was a wonderful day in the neighborhood, and nothing smells better than bedding hung outside!?
I vacummed, and no I DID NOT VACUM UP ANYTHING IMPORTANT (to me anyway) THIS TIME!
Washed the floors.
My friend Dianne came for coffee, and set me back a little! Alrighty, that's just an excuse! She really didn't! She called to say she was coming & I told her I'd try to be dressed by the time she got here!

I took the wheelbarrow and Shadow, and walked to the back 40 to get some straw for her house!
We slogged through the gumbo, GOD, that stuff's awful when it's wet! So me and the wheelbarrow weighed a LOT more than when we left the yard, and coming back I felt like one of theose people with a rickshaw it was piled so high! Of course I brought too much straw, so I stuffed what I could in Shadows' house, and wheeled the rest into the woodshed.
I'll see if I can cram some more in there tomorrow.
She was cozy in her house! Didn't come out for a long time!

I baked my famous Pepper Jelly Tarts for tomorrow night. (Stamp Club)
I also baked my famous individual Mini Chocolate Cheesecakes!
Oh what the heck, most everything I bake is famous! HA!
I think I have it all under control!

I also made a pasta salad, cause hey...I might get hungry yet tonight!

It's a witches house, and it's in between the goofy looking pumpkins!
Didn't turn out so well....I'll have to take one in the daytime!

Better go....I'm getting hungry for some pasta salad, and I have to make my lunch for tomorrow!

And I REALLY need 20 minutes to finish mom's Halloween card! It has to be mailed this week!

I know, get off of here and do it!

I've been trying! You DO KNOW I only have dial up, and AVON is online now! I need something to do while I'm trying to place orders, or printing off invoices....!

Libray Soiree!

Just got home a while ago from the Annual Open House at the Library!
A great time was had by all, and the food was amazing, as always!
Our friend Frank Oberle, our MLA was there, and his lovely wife Debbie!

Along with some of the Library Board, members of the town crew, and Friends of the Library, and just the general public!

Better go, need my beauty rest!

Gotta go to my 'other' job tomorrow, and I can only stay until 3:30 pm, as I'm taking a bus load of my peeps to the Harvest of Music, at the Athabasca Hall in Peace River!

We're going out for supper, then to the show!

Should be fun!

I figured out why my "O"'s took soooo long to get to Texas!
I got the mailman from the lodge to mail them. And he did.
When I mail them, I make them put a sticker on for Customs, write down what it is, and put a value of 5 or 10 bucks on it. Then it can be tracked! It's only an extra $1.00 for that!
Cause I mailed my flowers on Tuesday!
We'll see how long they take to get there!

Charity, the one doing the Halloween Banner swap, must have done the same thing!

Gonna start decorating the lodge tomorrow for Halloween! Whoo hoooo!

The weather was lovely today! Got above 0 for a minute!

Shadow's outside barking at something or nothing!

She barked all night last night!

She's a little bored I think with just the cats for pets!

NO buffalo, and NO horses next door!

She's even taken to chasing things; not only in her big 160 acre yard, but in her air space as well!

I'm not sure what she'd do if she ever caught a Raven or a Goose!

Vanessa texted me this morning! She got my Crop a Dial (Crop o Dial? not sure) from Michaels with a coupon!

She was just home with my last wish list, and I sent her back for more!

Dianne also texted me, and said she was house sitting at Glorias and did I want tomatoes?!

I said, "I don't have time this weekend."

She said, "We froze them."

I said, "Ok, I'll do some another day."

I'm also hostess Monday night for the Stamp Club, so have to save some goodies for then too!

Not sure how lunch will go over, cause everyone seems to be in Weight Watchers!

Hint, Hint!

As I hurried to work this morning, cause I just can't get my butt in gear, when it's still dark, I was dreading winter! I go to work in the dark, and come home in the dark.  It's depressing!

The only great thing about this morning was the sunrise....which I'm happy to say; happens around 7:40 am instead of 5:00 or 5:30 am!

Another depressing thing is going to the punp house for a smoke.

The aereation pump gets noisier by the year! Holy moly, can't even hear yourself think! I'm thinking that's the reason I've cut WAY down on the cigarettes! It's enough to make me want to quit! Okay, I'm gonna think about that one!

The book I'm reading the residents at the lodge is about the pilot Wop May. I want to call it Heroes with Wings, but I know that's not it!

Anyhoo, I read for about 45 minutes, then shut the book, and the ladies & I started talking, and my gentleman that comes to story time says with his thick accent, "THASSSIT?"

I took a slurp of water, and read another chapter!

He's really great!

Every once in a while when I'm passing through the dining room he says, "Story time?"

And I say, "Not today!"

So today on my way through, I said, "It's story time, Come on, !"

Better go, I have mom's Halloween card to finish, and ideas for a few more cards.

And the Lemon Loaf should be ready to come out of the oven soon.

Kittens, Kittens EVERYWHERE!

Got home today with my $50.00 dog food.........yeah, I know, Had to shop locally!
Even my scanner asked me, "Are you sure?" when I told it the price!
Ray was just getting his coveralls on to go get wood....(refer to earlier post about how much would he get done in a day if he got his butt in gear)!?
Anyhoo, went to feed the cats, and there were kittens all over!
We knew Jerry had 3, because they'd been hanging out at the woodshed!
I even managed to pick up one of the little hissers & spitters! Man, they're funny when they're little!
The last time I was at the cat house, I told Ray, "There are kittens in there, because there was a lot of scrambling when I went in."
He said, "Guess I better move the tires and see what's back there. Last time I moved them there was a bees nest."
That was a few days ago, or maybe even last week.
I guess the wild orange cat has some too!
I also had to stop at the drug store.
My knee's been killing me!
Ever since Saturday (naturally)!
Vanessa came home for the weekend, and Ray said, "How long has it been hurting?"
Vanessa, "Well she's been limping around ever since I got here at 5:00."
No Sympathy there! lol!
I rationed my last 2 pills and took them at bedtime, Saturday & Sunday.
I then cleaned out 2 purses, and 3 drawers looking for more. They're the good anti-inflamatories!
Turns out, I just got the prescription...didn't get it filled.
I only need 10 at a time, 4 a day, and I'm good!
By Thursday I shoud be cured......this time!
Saturday at my 'other' job, I took some pictures.

He protects me at my 'other' job.

He runs beside me when I drive into the yard over there, and he can look me in the eye through my car window! He is HUGE!

I made supper yesterday.
The kids came out early, so I dressed them up, and sent them to help Ray get wood.
Kalen, "When are we eating?"
Me, "I'll put it in the oven right now if you go help your dad!"

It would be my snow blower, kicked out of the woodshed, until all the wood is in. Then it has a corner!

She is a Collie/Great Pyrenese. She never grew into her feet!

He comes to play with Shadow when his owner (Jason) comes to dine with us!

Technically it's tomorrow.
We had a lovely supper with Ray's sister Evelyns family!
They have a cabin about 3 miles from here.
Vanessa's home, and answered the phone this morning while we were out hauling wood. When we came in she mentioned it.
I already had a roast, potatoes & carrots in the slow cooker, and a loaf of bread in the bread machine!
We went anyway! The appliances shut themselves off when they were done, and we had a great time!

I also made some puffed wheat squares (cause Vanessa likes them), and my famous
Double Layer Pumpkin Pie is made for tomorrow, and in the fridge.
I'm still  planning to make some pepper jelly tarts, and some unbaked cookies (Fiddle Diddles). I have to make something for the 3rd Annual Open House at the Library Friday night.
I'm also the hostess at Stamp Club next Monday (19th), so have to make somethng for that!

I'm making a pasta dish for supper tomorrow night, Kalen's coming! We had our turkey tonight, but we will have Pumpkin Pie!

I made Meatloaf Stew yesterday in the slow cooker. Ray & I like it. It's in Jean Pare's Slow Cooker meals. This Spring when the guys were fencing and stuff, I had to go somewhere. Could have been the LACAA convention, or maybe I worked at the casino, anyway, I threw that in the slow cooker for one of their meals while I was gone. I got home, and Kalen said,"What the heck was in the slow cooker the day you left?"
I thought a minute and said, "Meatloaf stew."
He said, "Well it sure tasted a lot better than it looked!"
I said, "Your dad and I like that!"
Ray said, "It couldn't have been that bad, cause it was gone in one sitting!"
I'll admit, it doesn't look like much, but it is really good. If you have that cookbook, try it! Throw an onion in with the potatoes and carrots! Put BBQ sauce on the top. Cook on low for 8 hours....it is REALLY good!

The other day I vacumed up my favorite eye liner!
I always vacum out the drawer in the bathroom. Ray keeps his brush in there.
It was one of those that was about 1 inch long......you know, the one you can squeeze another week, month, year out of!
Thing is, I'm sure I can get it for about $1.99, being an AVON lady & all!
Now for sure I have to find it in the book.....my luck it won't be on sale!

Vanessa brought the treasures from Michaels that I wanted her to get!
2 punches, 2 scrapbook frames, and another ribbon holder!
And I put my order in for a CROP-A-DIAL for when she goes home! Of course I gave her a 40% off coupon too!
I go to Grande Prairie next month to see my eye guy, so will check out the scrapbooking storage stuff!

I also tried to add a blinkie! That's the little pink box on the left. It should be flashing, and SYC means Scrap Your Crap, and there's actually a website to that effect, and if the darn blinkie would work, when you clicked on it, would take you there to check it out! Oh well, here's hoping!

Hey...I've been wanting to tell you stuff for days!
Monday, my mom called.
We talked about the aunt that broke her neck while I was in B.C. this summer.
About my brother, and Julie & Shaun.
where to send my brother Duane's birthday card. (He'll be 50 on the 14th! Man he's getting old!)
I told her I was working on the cards my other aunt wants, and the flowers for the Flower Swap.
She told me my other aunt had a liver transplant that day.
No one knew. She has had a liver disease for years I guess, but she didn't want everyone making a fuss....you know!
My cousin was the donor.
I get off the phone, and Ray says, "you were on the phone for over an hour."
I say, "so?!"
Ray says, "I don't know what people find to talk about for over an hour."
Now....I could've burst into peels of laughter, but I just said, "Really!? You, who says, 'I'll be right back', and comes home 3 or 4 hours later!?"
If you know my DH you'll find THAT highly amusing!

Tuesday, we had all the lodges for lunch and then a presentation by Camilla Jones.
I've seen her before and really like her.
She had a stroke at 41, but she didn't want to do that presentation.
She did, 'The Gift of Laughter'.
I've heard all sorts of comments.
"She used every swear word in the book."
Well I don't know what book that lady had, but I only heard 'bitchy. shit, and I'm gonna say crap' must be in that ladies swearword book!
"The stuff about farting was 12 year old humor."
"Her material is for a bar."
ETC.ETC.ETC.
I even paid 5 bucks and went to the evening presentation in town.
Doesn't matter how often you hear her, it's still funny!
I've decided, and I might be repeating myself here, that "Some people are just happy being miserable."

Yesterday was another busy day at the OFH!
We went shopping in the morning, and right after lunch we played a game called Reverse Dictionary.
At 3:00 we went to Granny's Fashions. That's the second hand store in town.
But in between, I did a survey with Param, from the U of A, in conjunction with the Alberta Motor Association, about transportation for seniors.
Tuesday, the president of LACAA (Michelle Hill) called and asked if I'd take part in a survey about Active Living. I said ok.
I'm the most northern Rec. Ass. (Recreation Assistant) that goes to the convention.
I did the survey this morning when I had a minute or two. And this afternoon I got an e-mail with an invitation to join a forum, in Edmonton on October 28th. All expenses paid. It's from 1-3 pm.
I'm torn! I think when I grow up, I'm gonna be the minister of something.
October 28th is the Halloween party for all the lodges in Fairview. and you KNOW I LOVE Halloween!
Can I REALLY make a difference if I go?
That's a LONG way to go for 2 hours!
I'll have to give it some thought.
We hauled wood and fired up the outdoor wood furnace....in the blizzard last evening!

There it is smoking away, and Ray's unloading wood into the woodshed. Quit looking! You can't see him! Or the trailer he hauls it on!
You know, I wonder how much stuff he'd actually get done if he got his butt in gear more than an hour before I got home from work!
I went last night to help get a load of wood, and I said, "I don't think there's enough wood cut here."
Tonight, when I got home from work, I went to see what he was doing, and he said, "One more load like this, and I think I'll have all that's cut over there."
The woodshed will maybe be 1/3 full!
It needs to be 3/4 full to get us through the winter, and even that's iffy, since we're starting now.
Ray also had to unthaw the valve on my water tank that didn't get drained before the blizzard!

Tomorrow, I'm taking my peeps out for lunch at Sing's Restraunt.
Working on my November calendar, and I have to do some baking for the Open House at the Library next Friday. I also have to get an auction item over there by Wednesday too for the Silent Auction!

That was someone's Facebook status today, and that's how it's been!
Busy yesterday!
Worked at my 'other' job for 7 hours, came home and scrubbed the garden doors, inside and out, started a couple cards, started the crocheted flowers for the 'Flower Swap' I signed up for, and made a batch of salsa! Good thing I had a roast with the fixins in the slow cooker!
Today, I cleaned!
And I crocheted! 8 Flowers are done! 7 to go! I WILL take a picture of those little suckers when I'm done....case they take F O R E V E R to get there!
I also threw "Uncle Tio's Tortilla Soup" in the slow cooker for supper, and a loaf of Italian Bread in the bread machine! My 2 most FAVORITE appliances!
Vanessa got me the soup on her San Diego/Mexico trip in June! It was pretty darn good.
All the potatoes are dug. We won't have enough to last until the new year this year, but they're nice looking!
We also blew the water out of the hoses and stuff. The lawn mower is gone to it's winter home, and the snow blower is in the woodshed. I still don't have my own power pole for plugging in this winter yet though!? Okay, the pole's there, the wire's not dug in! Maybe this week if they're not farming again! I guess the canola took a hit, from that wet heavy snow last Wednesday.
All my scrapbooking stuff is now in the craft room!
Of course it's NOT put away, I'm working on stuff!
But I'll work in there!
If you get the Michaels flyers........they have organizational stuff for us idiot scrappers, and I think I'll save my allowance for a room like that!
Soooooo, the futon will be moved to the other room, and the bed can go!
The table's cleaned off, the island, and the bread machine counter. Also, all the things that accumulated on the dryer in the entry all summer, have disappeared!
I also cleaned some of the closet in the spare room. Only because I had lost a Halloween costume!
Come on....it WAS serious!
I have a bagfull of clothes for Granny's Fashions from THAT little panic!
Better do something with my closet next!
I did the laundry and hung it out, and most of it made it back in here. I saved some for tomorrow!
Oh yeah. I ordered a new computer. From Dell of course! I had clicked on one of their ads. They had no shipping, which is a killer, and $230.00 off the computer I wanted! AND a 20" flat screen monitor .... whoa!
Hope Ray's not home when I haul that badass in here!
Oh what am I saying, Like he won't notice a monitor that will be almost as big as our TV!
It's my turn to be hostess next month at the Stamp Club.
I'm going to e-mail Lana for some order forms, and books. We're allowed to get outside orders, so I'm gonna!
All righty then, gotta go get some sleep. I was up at 6:00, and have to go to my 'other' job sometime tomorrow!

Wrecked!

I shrunk the fake drapes!
I went to hang them up today, and they are at least 8 inches (Ray says) too short!
I washed them in cold, I didn't dry them!?
I don't know what happened....all I know is that they look stupid!
Guess I'll pull the pleats out of them to see if they'll make REAL drapes! I think they're wide enough.
If I take the pleats out, and a small hem at the top for a rod, I think they'll fit!
They must have heard me say that I wasn't cleaning those vertical blinds in the living room again! This is the FIRST, and LAST time I'm cleaning those suckers!
They don't fit in the bath tub properly, and they were filthy, so I scrubbed them in the tub the best I could, then had to do EACH slat ! NEVER AGAIN!
Taking the drapes apart might have to wait a minute though, cause it's October 1st, and I got to get the Halloween stuff out!
It's all out, the house is a disaster, I did tell Ray I'd get the house cleaned up this weekend!
I also did some tomatoes that were turning red.
I took the skins off, and left them to drain in the fridge.
I should have enough Saturday or Sunday for another batch of Salsa!
