I really shoulda made a Christmas card, cause we've had a snowfall warning here today, and we've got about 2 inches of the lovely stuff already, but I needed this card for a friend!

Stressful week this!
A friend of ours had her twins on the weekend, and her dad died this week.
He was battling cancer.
I need to send a few cards.

Work is CAH RA ZEEE busy!

Had a few commitments, and ended with Happy Hour at the OFH last night!
Somewhere between arriving & leaving last night, I got talked into taking my old peeps to Wal Mart next Saturday.

I fixed my vertical blind that Vanessa & I wrecked when we assembled the tread mill!
I. KNOW!
We're home wreckers!
The blind got pulled off, and it busted the little clip!

 

I got out my trusty little dremel,  my jewelry card making tools,  some hay wire

and got busy!

 

 

I love the dremel set.

A little FYI; that sucker can drill through anything so don't drill directly on your countertops.

Just sayin!

I was going to replace them, cause I've always hated them, but hey, they work!

 

Here's some pictures I took this week..............We'll start with the sunrise this morning!

I was up at 4:30 WTH!?

I found this nest over by the creek, which is running.
It's only about 3 feet off the ground; my mom thinks they didn't know better.

 

This was just cool!

Wish I'd have still had the camera out when he lifted off, his wing span must have been 7 feet!

We cleaned some of the yard today................
The garbage that was sticking out of the snow, went to the dump!

Had to make some ditches in the lawn!
Remember this post, the mess they made digging in the water line!?
Well there's a lake back there!

I guess we'll have to add more dirt close to the house.

Ya know ya live in Alberta if you can go from:
10 degrees above 0, to pouring rain, to below 0 & snow!
Yup, I kid you not, and it's still below 0!

I finished a Mini Album for one of Vanessas' friends.

Then I did a make work project...you know me, there's very seldom an easy way when I'm on a mission!
I received my goodies from Quilled Creations!
I got this kit!
The instructions are not great....usually when quilling they'll tell you to make so many circles or what ever and you use one of these to measure!
These instructions say to make random circles....hahahahaha!
So I did!

That lilac is no way gonna fit in that cute little oval card!
So I made my own!
Here's the finished product.

 

It's going to be a birthday card for a friend.

 

I'm doing the sunflower now, and trying my darndest to make it to fit in the oval card!

 

Ok I'm done!

Oy, today makes 6 months that we have had snow!? WTH!

This was last Sunday.

I was too depressed to take a picture this morning...of the blizzard!
It got to 2 degrees today......seriously!

I'm not even a farmer, and it's getting me down!
I know, we can't do anything about the weather!

Anyhoo, here was the 'had to have item' I got at last Saturdays Silent Auction.

 

My mom said: "Is that going in the 'seldom used appliance cupboard'?"

Me; "Actually I've been wanting one of these!"

One of the kids made off with the blender, and why can't I mix drinks & stuff with this!?

Oh well, if I don't like it, one of the kids will get it!

 

This past week, I went out for supper Wednesday with the gf's.

Sorted & delivered Avon.

Booked tickets to Victoria for Vanessa & I.

A Princess House party.

Last night I went to the Quilt Show, out for Supper, and then to the movie.

GI Joe Retaliation.

 

I got this picture of a moose hiding in the forest.

 

 

These swans were in a puddle....

 

 

 

These poor geese were snow shoeing!

 

 

 

 

Next week I'm getting my hair done, it's past due!

Out for supper, the Volunteer Appreciation, supper with the gf's,

and I'm doing Happy Hour at the OFH next Friday!

 

It took me all week to make this Birthday card!

I kept trying different side steps til I found one that worked!

 

 

I also had a needy week!

Those clouds were the 'need' part!

 

I've got some amazing stuff coming from Quilled Creations!

Their shipping is atrocious, but I've always been happy with what I receive!

 

Better go, hopefully the weather shapes up!

Three posts in a row, must be a record!

I needed a Sympathy card last night;
Not just any Sympathy card, a card for a special pet.
My gf's sisters family (Got that!?) lost their dog on Wednesday.
I'm not sure of the details, but I KNOW he will be missed.

I had a card in mind, so I searched....... I found it through Splitcoast Stampers....
anyhoo, I used this one!

 

I also used a paw wheel with some iredescent versamark on the inside.

 

 

I printed a sentiment off the internet to finish it off. 

 

I deliver Avon on the street Rocky lived on.

I'll miss him howling at me at the first house,

then following me all the way down the street to the OFH!

 

R.I.P. Rocky

You almost got a twofer last night, but I got sidetracked then I got tired!

The title makes me want to use a stamp I have that says "Whatever you are be a good one."

It's been hectic for some reason this week, maybe cause 2 of my 3 bosses have gone on holidays!?

Here's the sunrise one day this week!

 

I know it's Spring because the geese, crows & swans are back.

If only the snow knew, and disappeared!

 

These swans are pretty hard pressed to find some open water!

Earlier this week they refused to co-operate for the photo shoot!

 

Yesterday they got their stuff together!

 

This is how we rednecks in Northern Alberta take a walk in Spring!

 

  This is the driveway at the beginning of the week.......

 

This is the main road......North.

 

Main road.......South.

 

These are my boots at the side of the road.....I changed into my shoes!

The road's dry, the driveway's not, and my new walking shoes are suedey leathery things, that probably won't like the mud and water!

 

Ray had to fire up the tractor last night to clean some of the snow at the top of the driveway, cause I'm having trouble getting in and out!

6" of slush plays havoc with my van!

 

I saw this moose trying to hide one evening on my way home!

 

There are 2 hanging around in the hood!

One has ticks really bad, and one looks pretty good!

 

I'm off to the movies tonight.

The Great & Powerful OZ!

 

Tomorrow night is a fundraiser for one of the churches in town.

Dessert & Silent auction!

Pretty sure there'll be something there I can't live without!

 

Next week is a crystal party at one of the gf's!

Again, I'm sure there will be something I can't live without!

Yes, they've gone & left me alone!

And YES. it's coffee time!

Create a Christmas card with a Christmas Tree featured somewhere on the card. This can be on the paper, image etc just so long as we can see it.

I made 4 of these!

Was going for 6, but the tree paper (of course I only have 1) was not 12 X 12! WTH!

Kraft is my latest favorite color! Haha, is it a color?

I've also used a wooden button....

I've been hoarding saving them!

I have the makings for 4 cards with the die cut out!

A Challenge

Good evening!

What a weekend, and yes I had to work today!

I cooked on Saturday!
Ham, scalloped potatoes, the works, made a Raisin Sauce for the ham!
It was DELISH!

Here's a picture of the dessert that made everyone smile!
Including Vanessa, cause it's her favortie color! HA!

 

Just google Clouds & Sky...all it is is jello & whipped cream!

But just what we needed!

The fun didn't stop there!

For our next trick....after supper, dessert & wine............

We; Vanessa, her friend & I went to unload the treadmill I bought, and Vanessa brought!

Ray forgot where he lived, and wasn't home!

Vanessa:"It took 3 guys to get it in here"

Hers is the white SUV.

I went & got the furniture dolly, and we slid it out onto it.

Both tires were flat!

We got it to the steps outside on the flat tires.

With Vanessa & I on the 'Heavy End'- that's what it said,

and Carol at the top of the stairs, we pushed & pulled it to the door.

Carol flipped one of my entry way rugs over, and we slid it the rest of the way into the kitchen!

I made Vanessa take pictures so she could "PROVE" that 3 women got it into the house!

 

Here's the sad, flat tired dolly!

 

 

I need you to notice all the SNOW we still have!

 

The disaster in the entry way!

 

Here it is........in the kitchen!

All 335 lbs of it!

 

 

Here's Carol & I with our farm gloves on!

 

 

And our boots & shoes; told her not to worry about it!

 

Then on Sunday, Vanessa & I put it together. TWICE!

OMG!

We got it together in the kitchen,

and it wouldn't fit through the doorway of the bedroom it's going to live in!

 

Ha, we're both taking pictures of the unbelievable NO FIT!

That was ok though, because Vanessa had dropped one of my little screwdrivers into the handle part, and we couldn't get it out without taking it apart!

 

 

There you have the rest of the story!!!!

It's resting comfortably in the master bedroom, which is humongous;

it has it's own spot, and Ray won't be home when I use it anyway!

We put a little table there for my CD player, cause I listen to audio books while I'm on it....

Only I might check out an ipod!

I have an MP3 player, but we can't get a book to download onto it!

Yes, I've had it to the computer store, the library,

and anywhere else they might know something about it!

 

I need to find a home for all the stuff that came out of the bedroom!

Including that little computer table on the left!

Think I'll take it to the second hand store!

 

I did make a few cards last week!

I tried this technique I got from my friend Myrna's blog!

 

 

 

I made 2 of them!

The second one, I made some pretty trash, cause I tried to run the lattice through the Xyron!

Run the cardstock through the Xyron before you use the die!!!!

They're very pretty!
