Allsorts Challenge #844

 Hello!

Hope you are well!

Sarah is the host over at Allsorts, and she would like to see Ribbons and/ or Bows. There is also the Anything Goes option!

This card is a kit from LST! It's called Forever Thankful and is by LDRS. The flowers, butterflies and bee are stamps and dies. I made Sympathy cards out of a few. The background pieces are made with a corner rounder and Spellbinder dies. Ribbon and gem from my stash. It's a 5" X 5" card.

Prizes this fortnight are from AALL and Create and Polkadoodles

Go see what the GD and DT have created!

Talk to ya later!

Life changes for the better when we realize that we don't have to know everything and we don't have to pretend we do. --Simon Sinek

Good afternoon!
I had really good intentions of doing this earlier!
Much earlier.

I went to look in my email for some inspiration for the title.
Got sidetracked and cleaned out hundreds of old emails.

The laundry got done.
All of it!

Trip to the grocery store.
Before 9 a.m.!

The trifle for dessert tomorrow.
Is done!

The paper work for me getting scammed online before Christmas.
Is done!

I am working on my second crocheted swiffer cover. I had a bunch of cotton I'd seriously thought about tossing.....mine are made with scraps! I love that they're reusable!

It's also time for me to make another batch of Laundry soap. There are lots of recipes on the internet. The one I found called for Fels-Naptha bar soap, and I have quite the stash from my trip to mom's last year! The rest is the same as the picture I took  when I bought this last year!

I will get my supplies on Monday in PR. I have appointments, and Vanessa & Bryson are coming along for the ride, and to do some grocery shopping.

I AM getting my Valentine cards done.
2 have already been sent! I'll show them to you, but you can't say anything, because they won't have them yet!!

I have replenished the birthday cards, sympathy cards (hope I never need them), Thinking of you etc.!

I have watched the little dude down the alley.
In fact his parents are having date night tonight, and going to SING

I have done a casino, been to a movie or two, had gf suppers, Friday night craft night, the flu, and of course the list goes on!

Here are some cards:

I know this last one is cheesy. Just let me have that! It's Valentine's!

These are my treat boxes I made for all my peeps for Valentine's! I'll get the stuff to fill them on Monday!

Better go!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

Imagine what you could do if you weren't afraid to try. --Michael Ritter

Hello!
How are you?

It's been a while!
I've been making Sympathy cards.
Not my favorite.

I'll show them to you then you can get on with your day!
The first two were part of kits from Stampin Up. I get the Paper Pumpkin monthly.

The next two I made last night. My stuff is still all over, so I'll make another couple today.

I made Shadow an appointment to get a hair cut last Monday.
I  had just got into my vehicle to go pick her up when the groomer called & said we had to reschedule.
The hospital had called, it was her mom.
Her mom died that day.

Then my SIL's grandma died.
Long story, but his grandparents raised him.
Her funeral is tomorrow.
I'm picking up a few peeps and we'll go.

I've been trying to stay out of trouble.
Been to a few movies.
Eddie the Eagle.
Zootopia.

Had a Firepit Friday or 3.
Going to work at the casino next week in GP.

Haven't heard anything from the hospital about getting the hardware out of my foot, so I called.
I'm not on a 'list', and the paperwork hasn't got there!
I tried calling my surgeons office.
I listened to the message twice.
The 'phone' hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and 1:00pm to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday.
I called Thursday at 3:33pm.
So I faxed their office from work on Friday!
Good golly!
It's a painful process, but I'll be persistant!

I think the only project going on over at the kid's this summer is the painting of the deck.
I have to get the website for the gazebo, as the snow last May collapsed some of the roof bars. It was a heavy, wet snow. We need to order some replacement roof support.

Kalen is graduating in June.
I have to pick my travels carefully.
I'll go to that.
FYI, lawyers are expensive!
 I'm in the wrong business!
The annual Ammish Auction sale, and the Family Rebellion might have to wait until next time.

Have a great rest of the weekend!
Have a great week!

Talk to ya later!
Hope you're all well!

REPEAT THIS 3 TIMES: Everything always works out for me! Everything always works out for me! Everything always works out for me!

Hello peeps!
Hope you had a lovely Easter weekend spent with loved ones!

I made a card last night, as Ray's going to a funeral this afternoon.

This was my drive to work a week ago Friday!

Horrible white stuff!

The swans are back!

Here's the start of the laminate at Kalens house!

Finished in one room!

Honestly, you can tell we live in Smalltown, Nowhere;
when renovations come to a screeching halt
cause we can't find drapes & curtain rods within 300 miles!
I ordered from Sears!

We DID work in the laundry room...........
Who lays carpet in a laundry room in the basement!
It came out!
A wall got painted, & I cleaned the spray paint off the window!
Cause REALLY;
someone would have to be standing in the yard
between the house & attached garage to watch you do laundry!!!

My title today is what I told a blog friend yesterday as we 'chatted' with email.
I remember saying that I had to go see where the water under my washer was coming from.
After I cussed out the washer;
which has been a lemon since I got it.......
don't tell the kids, they bought it for me.......
I was reminded about what a pain it is,
when I read Mary's blog post about her refrigerator!

Anyhoo..............
After I cleaned out the cupboard between the washer & dryer,
scrubbed shelves in there,
moved it out to get behind the washer.....
scrubbed under the washer..........
decided nothing was leaking.......
took off the panel where the hot water tank lives.......
YUP!
It's the hot water tank!
I need someone to do a survey about appliances or anything going wrong on a holiday, or weekend!
Cause from where I sit, it NEVER happens during the week;
and we are second on the list today for a new hot water tank!

Ray will have to go to his sisters to shower before the funeral,
and me;
I'll get to work sometime this afternoon,
when the new hot water tank is up & running so I can shower,
and maybe get a load of laundry in that didn't get done!
And it's payroll!
I'll be at work til I'm done!

I'm also house sitting/cat sitting for 2 friends in town.
The ones that live across the street from each other.
I'm paranoid now that something will go wrong!
I got my key stuck in one door on Saturday...
I was like, "REALLY, just what I want to do on Saturday,
change the lock while no one is home!"
I got it out; I now use the door with the code!

In other news, we enjoyed a wonderful meal on Saturday;
Vanessa was busy yesterday.
We also had Firepit Friday(on Saturday)!
Still a tad cool, but we lasted until almost 11:00PM!

Have a great week everyone!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

An uninspired mind is a handicap we all can do something about. --James R. Ball

Good evening!

What a weekend, and yes I had to work today!

I cooked on Saturday!
Ham, scalloped potatoes, the works, made a Raisin Sauce for the ham!
It was DELISH!

Here's a picture of the dessert that made everyone smile!
Including Vanessa, cause it's her favortie color! HA!

Just google Clouds & Sky...all it is is jello & whipped cream!
But just what we needed!

The fun didn't stop there!
For our next trick....after supper, dessert & wine............
We; Vanessa, her friend & I went to unload the treadmill I bought, and Vanessa brought!
Ray forgot where he lived, and wasn't home!
Vanessa:"It took 3 guys to get it in here"
Hers is the white SUV.
I went & got the furniture dolly, and we slid it out onto it.
Both tires were flat!
We got it to the steps outside on the flat tires.
With Vanessa & I on the 'Heavy End'- that's what it said,
and Carol at the top of the stairs, we pushed & pulled it to the door.
Carol flipped one of my entry way rugs over, and we slid it the rest of the way into the kitchen!
I made Vanessa take pictures so she could "PROVE" that 3 women got it into the house!

Here's the sad, flat tired dolly!

I need you to notice all the SNOW we still have!

The disaster in the entry way!

Here it is........in the kitchen!
All 335 lbs of it!

Here's Carol & I with our farm gloves on!

And our boots & shoes; told her not to worry about it!

Then on Sunday, Vanessa & I put it together. TWICE!
OMG!
We got it together in the kitchen,
and it wouldn't fit through the doorway of the bedroom it's going to live in!

Ha, we're both taking pictures of the unbelievable NO FIT!
That was ok though, because Vanessa had dropped one of my little screwdrivers into the handle part, and we couldn't get it out without taking it apart!

There you have the rest of the story!!!!
It's resting comfortably in the master bedroom, which is humongous;
it has it's own spot, and Ray won't be home when I use it anyway!
We put a little table there for my CD player, cause I listen to audio books while I'm on it....
Only I might check out an ipod!
I have an MP3 player, but we can't get a book to download onto it!
Yes, I've had it to the computer store, the library,
and anywhere else they might know something about it!

I need to find a home for all the stuff that came out of the bedroom!
Including that little computer table on the left!
Think I'll take it to the second hand store!

I did make a few cards last week!
I tried this technique I got from my friend Myrna's blog!

I made 2 of them!
The second one, I made some pretty trash, cause I tried to run the lattice through the Xyron!
Run the cardstock through the Xyron before you use the die!!!!
They're very pretty!

Hope you're all well!

Be careful the environment you choose for it will shape you; be careful the friends you choose for you will become like them. --W. Clement Stone

I want to be just like all of you!

My 'Snow Days" are ending tomorrow!
Thank goodness!
The laundry is ALL done, the floors are sparkling, and Ray said he'd be home tomorrow to fix the snow blower! Whoo hoooo!

I can only take so much of this down time (unless I'm on vacation)!
I might or might not have e-mailed my peeps at the county office this morning,
and said, "Nobody's getting their AVON until I get out of here!"
The grader went by at 2:50pm!
I can imagine what my desk looks like at work, and I'm the Handi Van driver for the Community Run this Thursday, and next!
There goes those mornings!

I also had a minute to read my book, and have an awesome drink!
You know I make my peeps different coffees & hot chocolates, cause I got nuthin else to do!!!???
Sometimes I have left overs, and I decided to try one this afternoon.
I'm going to give you the recipe cause it goes in milk, and you know how I feel about that, so it MUST be good!

Hot Choco Coffee Mix
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup instant coffee
Mix together, put in decorative jar.
Directions: Heat 1 cup of milk in a large mug in microwave on high for about 2 minutes.
You want this really hot.
Add 1-2 Tbsps. Hot Choco Coffee Mix. Stir.

I used 3 tablespoons, and yummo! I had 2 mugs of the stuff!

I also made 10 Sympathy cards for the stash.

I have a couple packages of these blue & brown cards with envelopes.
I used the SU Medallion stamp, and Hello Doily.
They're all a little different.
The ribbon hides where I screwed up stamping!
Why are you not surprised!?
The ones with ribbons & buttons are a little bulky, but I'll probably use them locally.

Hope it's warmer in your neck of the woods!
Snowfall Update: It's still snowing!

Hope you're all well!

Be curious, not judgmental. -Walt Whitman

Hallloooooo!
I've been a bad blogger this week!
OY!
Second post of the day people!
And I had to start laundry!

Saturday the girls were here, and we made cupcakes; some for Bryan & Laceys package, which no one took a picture of!?
I'm not clear on the popularity of Red Velvet anything!?
If it weren't for the cream cheese frosting, these would've got a solid...meh!
The Peanut Butter Overdose Stuffcakes were amazing, and got rave reviews!
And of course, the Mini Chocolate cheesecakes were drooled over!
Everyone got a care package, and I had no shortage of bowl lickers, frosters & dishwashers!

Monday we had a Friends of the Library meeting, and I used up a lot of my niceness! (Inside joke between the guys at work!)
Our leader just doesn't 'GET' volunteering!?
She thinks you NEED to be there, and that's that!
So after extolling the virtues of volunteers, and how you wanna treat them good so they'll be willing to help again.....and going on about how volunteers need to feel appreciated.......you really don't wanna P%$$ your volunteers off before they get to the event (which is what happened!)........guess who's making Thank You cards?!
That's ok!
I'm a volunteer, I wouldn't do it if I didn't like to, or want to support the cause; it still makes me smile & feel special, and not taken for granted when I get a Thank You card in the mail!

Tuesday night I put together my new piece of furniture for the crap craft room!
It needs to be modified, I'll do that this summer on the deck!
I WILL take a picture!

Wednesday was dinner out with the gf's.
One gf is in Mexico, so her daughter filled in!
It was nice to see her!
She needed to take some time off before the end of March, so was staying at her moms while she was in Mexico!

Thursday night we had stamp club!
If I can find the pictures I'll upload them........I spent 1/2 an hour looking for my HM image in the previous post.......my pictures used to upload onto the computer, in a folder, by date....don't have a clue what happened!?

Here we go!
This first one is missing a sentiment cause........wait for it........I screwed up!
I.KNOW......RIGHT?!

Then we got the giggles, cause we had an "I've never done that before...........", at stamp club!
OMG, it was hilarious! And just kept getting better........one of the girls needed a glue dot, I said "here, I've got one stuck on my thumb!".......which led to...."I've NEVER done that before!"
The new girls were almost rolling on the floor, they couldn't believe some of the "I've never done that befores!"

This next one uses the Doily stamp that's on my have to have list!

This next one uses a fun stamp set, that I ordered.....I KNOW!
It was free with your purchase of so much merchandise.....no worries, I consistantly spend the amount needed!
Good thing stamp club is only once a month, 6-7 times a year!

The next one I thought might make a good graduation card for a guy!?
I can always change up the sentiment.
See the doily die cut?
YUP, I ordered it!

Just so ya know.....the die cut was on the list BEFORE we used it!

Last night I worked on, and finished my HM card!

Next we have my nek-kid iPad!

I've taken it to work, Wi-fi people!
Downloaded some magazines, and games.
Can't download anything at home unless I take the sim card out of my internet stick!?
My phone doesn't have a sim card.........something to do with it being an android!? FYI!
Anyhoo, I digress................I bought it a jacket this week, and the picture doesn't do it justice.........It really is a BRIGHT ORANGE!
Which I will spruce up when I have a minute!
It IS a bright color, cause they're so slim that if you set a piece of paper on it it's lost!

I'm a little miffed at the FREE games the ap store lets you download............they're only teasers!
And OMG, have you ever played Angry Birds!? It's adicting!

Alrighty.....I think that's it!
Ray will be going to work soon, I'll be doing laundry, cleaning house, feeding the birds (real ones; before they get angry!), and making Thank You cards!

Oh Yeah......My friend Carol over at CraftinGranny's Card Shack has some blogaversary candy!
She's pretty talented too!
There's a button on the top right of the blog.........thought I'd advertise for her!
Go check her out!

And my friend Curt is hurtin...........could ya go and send him some well wishes!?
You can tell him I sent you!

Ok, Really, that's it!

Talk to ya later!

Craft a Scene Challange

Here is my entry:

The nightmare to make it is in the previous post, but I wanted to play along!

P.S. You'd think this was my first rodeo!?

Ta ta for now!

All life is an experiment. -Emerson

Don't be afraid peeps, I'm feeling like myself!
Even though Old Man Winter appeared yesterday with a vengence!
If I'd have wanted to go out the door last night, I'd have had to tie a rope around my waist to get back to the house!
The stove was out this morning when I got up! OMG!
And the weather was less than desirable, and is gonna be like that all week!
Here's a pic of the stove chugging along to catch up with the heat!

There's NO smoke coming out when it quits!
All is well now!
I got it going, just like Laura Ingells would have! ha!

After playing mindless games, reading & watching movies yesterday; I settled down to make a card for the girl in our Stamp Club that lost her mom.
I went over here to read up, and try out a sky!
First, let me tell you that I DON'T have those inks ( I KNOW), nor the little styluses!
I tried this one:

Then I did this:

After deciding I was 'heavy handed'; Sheree's exact words;
and that I really hated disliked them both, I pulled a Michele Zindorf, and did the Direct to Paper, which resulted in this:

and finally this..................
Which made it on to the card!

Oh, crafting is sooooo hard!
I need to practice!
Don't worry, I will!
And the rejected ones WILL end up on cards!

I'm going to make the card it's own post, so I can enter it in Craft a Scene!
I gotta start somewhere!
And I want Sheree & Myrna to see I can play along! hahahaha!

The O/S left Friday for Funchal, Portugal!
To get on this ship, which was doing this!

Talk to ya later!

There's A Very Fine Line Between Hobby and Mental Illness.

I might need an intervention!

Spent the weekend in Grande Prairie!
The hilarious thing about Michael's  this time, was Vanessa & I went in and out with the coupons (cause I had a whole whack), different times of the day, and got different cashiers!
So the big items were 40% off!

There was cake to be had!
After we went to dinner at The Keg!

I got the rest of the roll of ribbon!
I have a stamp similar to it!

These are the cake makers!

Vanessa & I.

Worked Volunteered at the casino!
Friends of The Library go between Christmas & New Years.
Finished those cards I was working on.

Vanessa's boyfriend Shawn has the BIG 3 OH coming up!
The guitar is a paper clip.
Michael's had different shapes!

Got home late Monday night.
Last night I mowed; couldn't finish cause there wasn't enough gas!
Tonight I whippersnipped where I did mow, and mowed over by the cat house.

Yesterday I had a great day!
I won some stamps over here on Sheree's blog.
And then.....Steve from Chrysler Canada called me!
Actually he called & left a message on Monday, so I called him back.
Chrysler Canada is sending me a cheque for the difference of the rental!
So I e-mailed my friend, who knows people....
This is her reply:
I'm so glad they took action Gail. You were treated poorly and I'm glad they recognized that. Chrysler really does strive to provide superior customer service and in my years of working with them they have been quite good with clients. PR Chrysler was out of line in how they treated you and sometimes those northern dealerships need to be reminded that people up there know people who know people at head office! hehehe! I'm glad you are getting a refund!
And he's following through.
He told me he spoke to the Service Manager, but unfortunately the owner was away until Monday.
He also asked me if there was another dealership I could go to.
On the way to Grande Prairie, I stopped at Fairview for an appointment.
After the whole Service department was rolling on the floor laughing, or trying not to, their Service Manager told me that "sometimes it's not about Chrysler Canada, it's about looking after the customer."

Things are good in my little world!

I'm working on my cards for.......
wait for it..............

Hope everyone's doing great!

Angels fly because they take themselves lightly.-Jean Cocteau

Hello peeps!

Relax, no rant today!

The kids were home on the weekend, and we watched Rango & The Adjustment Bureau!
Those kids know me!
I don't go to movies....the odd fundraiser that's it!
They were both great!!

I've been busy!
Of course I have!
I was going to tell you the mothball story, from the previous post!

We have a mouse; not in the house yet, but under the far tub!
I was in my craft room one night, and I heard a noise.
I thought, "What the heck is that dog doing?"
And went to look!
The dog was asleep on the steps.
I come back to the craft room, pause at the bathroom & other bedroom, and hear it!
Partying under the tub!
I took Christmas out of the closet, cause that's where the access to the pipes is!
Brought home a box of Steel Wool from the store and went to work, filling the 5" holes that were cut for 2 (two) 1/2" pipes. IKIDYOUNOT!
I'm going to be a contractor in my next life.
Don't know if I wanna 'do it right', or shove all my crap into walls etc., and cut really BIG holes where they're not needed!!
Anyhoo, I put steel wool around the vent stack that I could reach too.
I threw a block of mouse poison under there, put Christmas back in the closet and called it good.

A couple weeks later; Ray, from his lazy chair says,"you didn't get rid of that mouse."

The problem is, the tub drains at the far end, it isn't accessable from the access!

I clean Christmas out of the closet again; the mouse poison is gone; I throw half a box of mothballs under the tub,  & another mouse poison block.
2 days later, the whole house smells like mothballs, Ray 'thinks' the mouse is gone, and the kids are coming home for the weekend!
I decided I should have only put about 2 mothballs under there, so while everyone's at the Demolition Derby, I open the access up, and vacum up all the mothballs I can see!
Had to throw the vacum cleaner bag away, and I think I've got it under control!
Sure glad it was summer so the windows could be open, I'd have died in the winter!
The kids stayed out in the camper!
Christmas IS NOT back in the closet ....yet!
And I didn't know what smelled worse...the mothballs or the room deodorizer I had bought for my craft room to make it tolerable! YUCK!

Got some pics for you.
I've been working on Sympathy cards....maybe if I have a stock pile of them, I won't need them!

Made my mom's BD card, and got it in the mail.

My chore today was to sort the bottles!
I have maybe 1/4 of that in the back of the van!

I did get most of the yard mowed yesterday.
It was raining when I came home from work today, I read my latest Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum) novel, until the rain quit.

Shadow helps with the bottles.......hahahaha, she licks the pop bottles, and juice jugs, etc.!
She doesn't listen when I tell her "You don't know where that's been!"

Gotta go.
Talk to ya later!

When you dig another out of their troubles, you find a place to bury your own.- Anonymous

I think I'll have to lump everyone together so the hole's big enough for my troubles this past week! I'll get the cheese right now.
And before I start, I just want to say that I still can't comment on some posts!?

Myrna, your stuff is great; like always!

Bonnie, I am terribly sorry for your loss.
And that right there folks will make my crap seem trivial!

Took the van to PR a week ago Monday for a sleep over.
S, in the Service Dept. at Peace River Chrysler told me, "You're right; this has gone on too long, bring the van down, we'll have a rental for you yadda yadda!"
I drove a Jeep Cheroke all last week, and I was happy, cause I wasn't vehicle-less.
Remember, this is the 6th time the van has been there, cause of the cruise control. (I still have the dust problem)
Took the rental back Saturday, picked up the van.
Monday ( July 18th) the nice lady from AVIS calls me.
"Did you know Peace River Chrysler only pays $40.00 a day?"
"I don't know why they don't tell you people that."
They paid $168.00, I paid $229 and change.
I called the manager at Peace River Chrysler, asked him if he thought that was fair, and after the "Didn't anyone tell you?"
"That's Chrysler Canada's policy, not ours."
I snapped.
I'm not a freakin mind reader!

Let's figure this out.
6 trips there and back 1200 kms at .35 a km $420.00
2 tanks of gas @ $70+ bucks a pop.
My time......12 hours of driving time, anyhoo, lets say $10 bucks an hour just for fun, never mind the waiting time, and inconvienience. Lets say 20 hours total (I'm being kind) $200.00
I'm into this for $760.00 already, and remember this is warranty.
THEN. I. HAD. TO. PAY. $229.00 FOR. THE RENTAL.
Don't forget I had to wash it & fill it up with gas before I dropped it off, I'm going to say $65.00 for that!
I'm in it for $1,054.00, just on the cruise control, which does work now thankyouverymuch.
Getting screwed over by my vehicle dealership....PRICELESS!

But wait, there's more...............
I went on Facebook, and trashed them (Peace River Chrysler), just like I'm doing here.
Apologized to everyone for the 'DRAMA' (go to the college and take a course), and one of my 'friends'  KNOWS people.
People at Chrysler Canada.
She didn't promise anything.
She's gonna make sure a LOT of people at Chrysler hears about this.
I LOVE her!

I e-mailed her a copy of the original letter I wrote them.
I had issues with the document fee.
On TV they advertised that the $150.00 document fee is negotiable.
I had to pay $499.00, for nothin'! No trade in, no financing.
And when I mentioned the ads on TV, the woman asked me "What the hell are you talking about?"
I shoulda packed it up and walked out then.
I'm so guilible, and a sucker for punishment!

Ok, I'm DUN..........................
You don't wanna know what I told the manager at Peace River Chrysler, let's just say my mom would've washed my mouth out, and then I was so frustrated I bawled!
And I gotta be REAL mad to do that!
I DO have an appointment with a dealership in another town, that is another 1/2 hour away, but oh well. Maybe they can solve my dust problem.
Shoulda bought this vehicle there, that's where we usually shop.
I'll admit to making a mistake, and it won't happen again!

K really I'm DUN.

And Wednesday night I took the peeps from the OFH for ice cream, at the hot pink ice cream shack down the highway!
They make me laugh!
We drove around aimlessly for 2 hours!
We gotta do that again!

Today I found this!
Nope the guy isn't related, but I sure laughed!

Got some pictures for you.
The moon was out the other morning!

My one & only peony this year!

The only 2 tiger lilies blooming!

Ray's peas & potatoes!

These guys are getting bigger!
I have pictures of them Here!

I've been making Sympathy cards.

I'd like to get ahead with these but it never happens.
There you have it!

It's Rodeo weekend in town! Yeee Hawwww!
Vanessa & S are on their way!
I took smokies out for a snack, and it's raining!
Got my fabulous rhubarb crisp in the oven.
All sorts of muchies and beverages out!
I told her they had to stay in the guest suite (camper), cause the whole house smells like mothballs/long story/I'll tell them when they get here!
So I've ran across the yard, turned on the hot water, put out the slide, the rug, the awning, and lit a mosquito coil for under the step; so the little critters don't hurry in when you open the door.

I'll tell you the mothball story later!
Have a good weekend!

Ta ta for now!
