So this just happened!

 

 

All over my kitchen table, yesterday and this morning!

 It was this months Paper Pumpkin'!

It's already on it's way to the recipient, along with the last Hot Chocolate on a stick!

It also took a day and a half.....not the 30 minutes these kits claim!!

Hopefully it arrives next week! 

I have Beer Bread from a mix in the oven, then I'm going to cook supper at the kid's.

One of my friends is coming.

Later this evening we're going to Vanessa's in-laws, for games & fireworks!!

 

Christmas was good.

Here's one of my gifts from the kids.

Made me laugh!

I also got a gift certificate for a pedicure.....love those!

Back in the day, I didn't think I had time for pedicures, so would always give them to Vanessa!

Not anymore!

I also have a certificate for a massage, so I should be feeling just wonderful in the new year!!

An update on Google Friend Connect

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

We only worked 2 days this week, and are working 2 days next week.

I know, I know....Relax! 

Ha, I've got a gazillion things on the to-do list!

Vanessa & I finished the baskets & bags full of homemade goodness!

We customized!
 

 Well, the basket on the right was not turned the right way!
They were filled with salsa, rhubarb relish, almond rocca, cherry bark, nuts & bolts, hot chocolate on a stick, a few crafty food things we made, and poppycock!

This was the second Open Bar we made for a gift exchange!
They're full of airplane sized booze.
It didn't quite make the monetary value, so the scratch tickets were added!
They're on Pinterest under perfect gift exchange gifts for guys.
I'll tell you the first guy that got one at Vanessa's staff party was afraid he'd get a candle!
He was very excited to see this!

For Vanessa's gift exchange tomorrow night, I made my world famous Pepper Jelly Tarts, and I might make a seafood dip for crackers. She doesn't cook...remember!? I have time!
I'm going with them for supper at the in-laws on Christmas Day, so will make an Ambrosia Salad, and my famous Double Layer Pumpkin Pie!
I might even get to play in the craft room on my days off!

It's dinner out tonight with the gf's.
They're getting Body Scrub from the previous post! 
The girls at work got the other 3!
The old hotel restaurant opened again in town, 
so we're going to try it! 

It's been snowing big fluffy flakes all day!
It's actually quite pretty, and we've warmed up a tad from the deep freeze last week!
I think we're just spoiled because it's been so mild!
And the Northern Lights have been phenomenal!!!

Lots going on!
Christmas markets, baking, the last card/gift cards are going in the mail tomorrow!

I made these today....body scrubs!

Who knew that salt & oil would weigh so much!

Apparently I have to put a disclaimer on them, as there's no preservatives, so they make the floor of your shower very slippery!

They are lavender/ vanilla, and pomegranate/ orange.

 

 

Playing with Paper Pumkin from Stampin' Up!!

Love them; you're supposed to be able to do the contents in 

30 minutes....I beg to differ. Maybe I'm just slow!! 

I made my Hot Chocolate on a stick today. It's just made, not cut up & bagged. Maybe tomorrow!
We have had our staff party; we're really busy at work!
Which in this hurry up & slow down world is a bonus.
I'm grateful every day for my job! 
We did get a new server, so there's some growing pains, hopefully that's all fixed tomorrow!
I can't send email from our accounting program!  

Vanessa & I have most of our goodies made for baskets! Oh, and because I want to share a feel good story with you....here you go. 
Get the tissues; she really is doing amazing, I go visit her once a week!
The lady that took Cardi in is awesome! I went this afternoon, always with treats, played fetch, gave belly rubs, and got slobbery dog kisses! She has 2 other dogs, and everyone is getting along.....most of the time!!
I'd better go, hopefully it doesn't take me as long to chat again!

Vanessa & I went to the movie Saturday night. The Martian with Matt Damon! Go. See it! It was great! 
V & I went to visit Cardi.
I've received and delivered about 1/2 the Avon.
It's coming every week.......Tis the Season!
I thought I'd have a day off yesterday.
It was the Remembrance Day holiday, but the drug store needed me to do Christmas, so I went & helped for about 6 hours!
Crafty Fridays start tomorrow night.
Will be working on my second Welcome Sign.
I have not heard one word from the guy who cut out all the pieces for me, and I left the first one on his doorstep in about May.
Going to an Art Show in town on Saturday night.
Planning is on for the Christmas Party for work.
Vanessa & I will be making Nuts & Bolts about next week!

Went to Vanessa's again this year, as I'm in a basement suite, and the doorbell doesn't belong to me!
We had over 70 kids again this year!
This is Harley, me & Vanessa!
V is a Facebook junkie, so we were called 'adorable'!
Hahaha, I haven't been 'adorable' since I was a baby! (If then!)
 

Gandalf came to visit, and stayed for supper! (That's why my sleeves are rolled up!)

 We had a lot of fun, and a lot of laughs!

Kalen texted me a couple weeks ago, and said he needed some Christmas cards.
Me: How many?
Kalen: What's the standard order?
Me: Whatever you need. How about a dozen?
Kalen: OK, and I want to pay.
Me: You're my kid, that entitles you to free cards for life.....like your g-ma!

I have a pile of scraps of Christmas paper on my desk....don't ask, so I have 3 made!

I'm sorry about the oh so crappy lighting!

Anywho, since I talked to you last, I've been to another Fall Supper, dog visits, movie Transylvania 2( which was just as cute as the first), the Picture Art (photographs of local artists) up at the county office, the greenhouse Christmas opening, and it's Firepit Friday!
Since it has snowed, and stayed, it was raining out a while ago, we'll be inside.
The crafts will start next Friday!
Getting my hair done tomorrow, dentist on Monday, and I have a bag of apples on my kitchen floor that need something done with them! Also going to The Night of Artists next Saturday night.

Happy Halloween!
It's my most favorite day of the year!

This week I've made cupcakes, treats, delivered them, went to the foot surgeon, dentist, a fall supper, movie, got Avon, sorted it, and delivered it, Firepit Friday .................

These were the treat bags I made my peeps!
Kids at work, hairdresser, a lady at the post office yesterday that was having a bad day...............

 They all included some form of this Russell Stover pumpkin chocolate, and the bigger ones had a little more!

 Finally finished Vanessa & Harleys' Halloween card!

(It's dark purple, horrible lighting!)

 

This was pumpkin spice chocolate I found at Michaels & made them for the top of the cupcakes, which apparently didn't make a picture! But the recipe is here!

 This is what it did Monday!

Didn't stay, but we're supposed to get more tomorrow!

It's the "S" word!

 Later this afternoon, I will go to Vanessa's to had out treats!

I'm in a basement suite, and the doorbell doesn't belong to me!

Hauling my bag of costumes up the alley!!

Firepit Friday has still been going strong as it hasn't snowed yet!

We dress warmer, and the fire is bigger!

The foot surgeon & I will talk again in 3 months.

He wants to do surgery again, I just think the screws should come out!

It's not healing; I told him that's because I'm allergic to metal, and why do you have to wear that big bracelet that says 'METAL' into the operating room if no one looks at it!?

Another dentist appointment in a week for a crown!

The movie we went to was The Intern,

with Robert DeNiro & Anne Hathaway.

Highly recommended! 

Tomorrow evening we're going to another fall supper, then to Transylvania 2! 

Tis the season!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!
I have made a few cards.
I'll show you them, and then you can get on with your day!

I needed 2 wedding cards, so whipped up 2 standbys!
(Mom needed one!)

 I made a Halloween wreath from a Stampin' Up kit and took it to my mom!

The color is really off here! It's all quite orange!

Look for the purple spider. It's put together with beads!

 |Kalen's Halloween card. I stopped last Sunday on my way home & had lunch with him & 2 of his room mates to the Rusty Nail Bistro, which is to the west of Grouchy Daddy's!

 My drive was beautiful!

Mother Nature was wonderful in all her Fall Splender!

Our leaves are long gone, we have such horrible winds!

 We also had to stop for this procession!

A push & pull load! It's so heavy that there's a semi at the front, and one at the back!

I guess I'd have to know the trucking company! 

The kids are all away!

Vanessa & Harley are gone to a concert in Edmonton.

Kalen took my nephew Shawn & went to grammas!

This is the first time in about 2 years that I didn't have any projects at Vanessas'! 

I've been grocery shopping, filled the van with gas, I'm on my 4th load of laundry! 

The plan is to make a pie or 2, work on my Halloween bags for my peeps, maybe make a card, make my pumpkin spice pumpkin shaped chocolates for on top of my Halloween cupcakes for work, make stuffing, I bought a chicken! Peggy is coming for supper tomorrow. I also took her with me on my trip and dropped her off at her daughters!

I need to get the outside of my windows washed either later today or tomorrow morning. I got cabbage roles |& perogies from the Farmers Market yesterday, they're thawing in the fridge!

I have an easy recipe for  sugar scrub I want to try. I have a 25 lb. bag of apples sitting on my floor to do something with, and I brought the brand new coveralls home from work to pick the patch off the back!

We moved into our new (to us) shop & office.

I can probably walk there if I have to!

There was a box of brand new coveralls; if someone would pick the patch off the back, we can use them!

I might or might not have volunteered!

I have a dentist appointment Tuesday morning, and I finally (after whining) get to see the orthopedic surgeon on Oct 22!

I can live with the pain, it would just be another ache, but the swelling bothers me!I want to know what he put in there!
So this has taken me forever cause I keep getting side tracked on the internet by stuff like this!

I am seriously trying to get my $#!& together to blog somewhat regularly..........it's not working!
|I HAVE made some cards, only because my aunt ordered them, and I'm going there this week!

The kids have hooked me up with Netflix. 

Harley figured out how I can upload photos, and got my wireless printer to work on my new laptop!

One of our friends families built a cabin down by the river on their land.

 We just go hang out for the day!

We take lunch & something for our coffee, and it's an all day visiting session!

We were missing one of our peeps, hope she's feeling better!

This will be a short week for me, as I'm leaving Thursday for the wedding!

We're moving our office closer to town.

Hopefully before I leave!

I'm getting a new windshield on Tuesday, and we have our monthly meeting(supper)! 

The van gets cleaned on Wednesday, supper with some gf's,  & I have a doctors appointment to see when I can get the screws out of my foot.

They are causing me a lot of grief!

Good thing it didn't rain all summer, I couldn't even get my rubber boots on!

I asked this same doctor about 6 weeks ago about getting the screws out of my foot, and he said  if he needed to fax a note or something they would.

The following day one of the women working at the clinic called me & said that the letter they had got from my surgeon, said that he'd take them out after a year.

So I'm thinking .....that was that!

My surgeon told me, he could take them out after 6 months.

He also sent me to physiotherapy to "Retrain my gait."

We can't 'retrain my gait' as long as I'm waiting for it to hurt while I'm walking!

It doesn't; but it might!

It's just so swollen & bruised all the time.

And tight, and hot, and angry!!!

I have a metal allergy........pretty sure they used deck screws and they need to come out! 

The people at the clinic are gonna jerk me around so it will be a year before the screws come out!!!!

Anyhoo, that's what's been going on!

Hamburgers for supper tonight at the kids!

I've already been there to help hang the Guest Board from the social!

I didn't make a dessert  but I did make cookies, and took some there!

Hello everyone!

I know I've been MIA.

It's not for lack of trying!

I tried talking to you on August 23/ that didn't happen!

My old computer just wouldn't upload my photos.

I bought a new computer; just to have Kalen tell me he needed a new computer for school.

Merry Christmas Kalen! He paid half, and I gave him my new laptop!

I've had MY new laptop sitting on the futon for a week!

I finally had a minute on Thursday-ish.

I need a computer literate 8 year old to help me!

It's bits & pieces here & there!

I had to download the watermarked images site again etc.

So if there's extra words on the photos just laugh or ignore them!

I'll get it figured out; I just use the free one!

I don't have anything crafty today so feel free to carry on!

I should be getting my jam made too, so I can go help the kids with the sidewalk blocks; then there's Sunday supper!

As you know, Vanessa & Harley got married when they went on vacation in June!

We had a BBQ pot luck social for them August 22 in their backyard!

It was wonderful!

So many people came, and it was great fun!

We decorated, a friend made the guest "board", we made the little take home treats, had a photo booth! You know everyone's having a good time, when the person taking the photos gets the giggles!

This was my offering! A dessert & a salad!

 The "Guest Board", when it gets hung in the entry, I'll take another picture!

 A friend made it, and did an awesome job!

 There's a lot you can do with plastic & balloons!

 It was such a lovely day. Everyone had a nice time, and the selection of food was amazing!
