Maybe Christmas he thought doesn t come from a store Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more. Dr. Suess

Hello friends!
I've been thinking about you!
Here's a fun fact!
This was the temperature this morning when I got up!

It's ok, we're used to it here in Northern Alberta, it's the wind that's evil! Any exposed skin for any length of time, will be very cold!!!
The past 2 weeks have been cold, it's supposed to warm up tomorrow!
Craft night has been productive! I just finished these on Monday!
These are wine bottle snowmen! The bottles are full of wine!

Another project is on the go, but will be finished in January!
Damn Pinterest!
I have made Christmas cards. The girls at work were giving me a hard time. "You finished the cards you're making for other people to give away?!"
The answer, was Yes, Yes I am! I did send out a few.

I got carried away with my sunburst die when I realized it was very accommodating!
And the last one; I had 1 (one) sheet of that Christmas paper with pink in it. I think we've discussed this before! Who. Does. That!? One piece of paper pfft!
I have been to a few Christmas parties, movies, the kids dance recital, we DID go see Mama Mia last month!
Doing a casino in January, Garth Brooks concert in February, hopefully a trip to Arizona in March, Vanessa's going to Vegas in April to see the Backstreet Boys, I'll help with the babysitting.
I've watched the baby a few times. He's really a content little dude! Lucky for them!
Nothing in May, Amish Auction Sale in Montana with my mom in June. Vanessa wants to come to introduce my mom to her great grandchild.
Trip with a couple gf's in July.......I'm sure lots will come up!

I'm cooking Christmas at Vanessa's this year.
We got the turkey yesterday. Kalen will be home, and most of the SIL's family will come!
It will be a day of food, laughter & love, and that's how it should be!
I've gave out treats & baskets all week, and tried for 2 of the last 3 today! I texted one friend to see if they were home, and they texted back saying they were far, far away in San Antonio, Texas! The other one was sick!
So I came home and made butter tarts, 1 batch of poppycock, and a pan of eatmore bars! Now I'm debating whether to make 1 hour cinnamon buns, or Hot Chocolate on a stick!
You do know that some of them do not get made into hot chocolate! My friends have said they just eat it off the stick!

Anyhoo, here's the project I couldn't show you in the last post.

I'm hoping if you click on it, you can read it!
Kalen said yes, "but I have demands."
He wants to pick the hockey team Bryson cheers for, and he wants to ok the babysitters! Hahaha.

I did a big family advent calendar for the kids (&baby) this year, and I'm getting them a membership for the Toy Lending Library we have here in town. It's the coolest thing, and very underutilized!

Better go, or I won't get anything else done!
Still want to make a batch of Almond Roca too, but that might be tomorrow or Monday!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Merry Christmas and all the best in 2017 if I don't get back on here!!!

Christmas isn't a season. It's a feeling. -Edna Ferber

Christmas isn't a season. It's a feeling. - Edna Ferber

It's that mad dash, stressful time of year!
Not for me, I'm dun!
We only worked 2 days this week, and are working 2 days next week.
I know, I know....Relax!
Ha, I've got a gazillion things on the to-do list!
I just want to wish you a very Merry Christmas, and with how the blogging is going lately, I'm going to say,
and
Happy New Year!
All the best in 2016!

Vanessa & I finished the baskets & bags full of homemade goodness!

Yes, there's a beer in the top one!
We customized!

Well, the basket on the right was not turned the right way!
They were filled with salsa, rhubarb relish, almond rocca, cherry bark, nuts & bolts, hot chocolate on a stick, a few crafty food things we made, and poppycock!

This was the second Open Bar we made for a gift exchange!
They're full of airplane sized booze.
It didn't quite make the monetary value, so the scratch tickets were added!
They're on Pinterest under perfect gift exchange gifts for guys.
I'll tell you the first guy that got one at Vanessa's staff party was afraid he'd get a candle!
He was very excited to see this!

For Vanessa's gift exchange tomorrow night, I made my world famous Pepper Jelly Tarts, and I might make a seafood dip for crackers. She doesn't cook...remember!? I have time!
I'm going with them for supper at the in-laws on Christmas Day, so will make an Ambrosia Salad, and my famous Double Layer Pumpkin Pie!
I might even get to play in the craft room on my days off!

It's dinner out tonight with the gf's.
They're getting Body Scrub from the previous post!
The girls at work got the other 3!
The old hotel restaurant opened again in town,
so we're going to try it!

It's been snowing big fluffy flakes all day!
It's actually quite pretty, and we've warmed up a tad from the deep freeze last week!
I think we're just spoiled because it's been so mild!
And the Northern Lights have been phenomenal!!!
You need to check out Famous Amos on Facebook!
https://www.facebook.com/FamousAmosPhotography/
Not sure why that didn't show up as an URL!?

Better go, have a great rest of the week!!!
Eat too much, laugh too much...ENJOY!!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

PS: Famous Amos has a website!

Family is not an important thing, it's everything.--Michael J. Fox

Friday December 16/2011
This might take a few days to write!
Did Daddy & Me at the library last night!
Always a blast!
Except for one rude child....about 5.
Are there rude 5 year olds?
She was at the computer writing a letter to Santa with her dad.
Child, "What are you doing here?"
Me: " I'm helping this little boy write a letter to Santa."
Child: "My dad's helping me."
Me: "I see that, you're very lucky."
Child: "Why're you helping him?"
Me: "His dad is helping his sister right now."
Child: "Why're you here?"
Me: "I'm helping Santa with his 'NAUGHTY LIST!"
Too much!? Nough said!
This is the site we use, case you're interested!
The letter writing is the first box on the left undet the Santa video!
It says new, but we've been doing this for about 5 years!

Going home to make my cabbage rolls.
Hopefully Ray got the tree to the house!
It's in a storage trailer across the yard!
Normally I'd go drag it across, but we have no snow, and I don't want to wreck the duffle bag it's in!
It's too heavy for me to carry!
I got a lot to do this weekend!

My poor friend T at the OFH!
Her grandpa died this week.
She texted me Tuesday.....'I got a trip to Peace River with the seniors tomorrow, can you go?'
I had to say no! I did give her a couple names though!
T texted me Wednesday morning.....'I've got the light drive planned for tonight, can you go?'
I texted back.....'Change the light drive to next Tuesday, I'll be in town anyway, I'll take them then.'
Such a big help I am!
Apparently the light drive is changed, but I don't know what to!
The funeral was today, I'll talk to her this weekend!

Sunday, December 18, 2011
Well, I think everything's under control!
Cabbage rolls are made, the Peanut Squares & Christmas Trees (that's what they're called) are made!
The tree is up!
The Nativity is UP!
Got a million little things done!
Sugar Cookie dough will be made today; for tomorrow!
B & L's December treats will be put together today...to be dropped off tomorrow!
The vacuming might get done today!
Floors will be washed about Thursday!

Here's a picture of the Christmas Tree cookies.

And this is them with the snow on top!

SU had an awesome sale; it's probably still going on, I know I ordered things I couldn't live without!
The glossy paper!? Not on sale, but ordered it to try the wax paper technique again!
I gave over half the package to a friend making a calendar!

Kalen doesn't have his Christmas card, or his parcel......... the tracking link says it was delivered Friday! Told him to get on it!

I might get a nap in today.....here's to wishful thinking!
I've been trying to find my Baked French Toast recipe for either Saturday or Sunday morning!

I've got some cards on the go, pretty sure they're nothing you guys wanna see until after Christmas!

Got dinner out with the GF's Tuesday & Wednesday! (Different GF's!)
Maybe the light drive with the seniors Tuesday...then my calendar is clear until the Casino the 28th & 29th!
Gotta work in there somewhere too!

V & S will be here Friday night.
Got the menu planned for the big day!

I did find this site for you though, good stuff here!
They're wise words......everyone should think about them this time of year!
And all year!

Better go!
Have a great week everyone!

Ta ta for now!
