Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. --Winston Churchill

Hello everyone!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

I've created a few things this week, have some sites to share with you,
and I need to make a card or two......

I went to 2 movies last week!
Yes, our little town has a movie theatre!
We went & saw "Annie" and ' Night at the Museum/ Secret of the Tomb"!
I think I liked the first Night at the Museum better!

I've gone out to dinner with friends.
X 2.
Different friends!
Dyed a friends hair, went to the hair dresser myself...going for a new doo!
Went to craft night last night, finished my Valentine's treats for my peeps.....
& finished the bosses kids treats!

Here's Kalens Valentine's Day card I made him!
He has it so I can show you!

I found that 'tape' at the bottom in a drawer.
It is actually Scotch tape brand!
Pretty sure it was around before Washi tape/ of which I don't have any!?

I turned these..........

Into these!
Of course my friend Myrna told me about the 'must have' SU Envelope Punch Board,
so I gotta use it!

Sorry the picture quality is so crappy!
They're really RED not orange!
I have 2 kinds of that 'Scotch tape'!

I got the free printable file for the envelopes here:
I also found a few more, didn't use them, but thought I'd throw them in anyway;
you know, in case you need any ideas!

I'll have you know, I sorta joined Pinterest.
All I know is I have followers, and I really don't spend a lot of time there!?

I also had a picture to show you what I saw when we had unseasonally warm temperature last week!
But Blogger slash Picassa isn't co operating!
And yes, we did BBQ on Sunday!

I also wanted to 'knockonwood' tell you about Kalen/Vanessas!
Remember the trenching, sandbagging that went on!?
Kalen asked if we had the army out!

In August we built the little retaining wall to protect the cement patio.

This is where we BBQ-ed Sunday, and we're please that there wasn't a lake!
I don't want to jinx us, but I think the water is going the right way!
Away from the house!
We survived the January thaw!
I'll keep you posted when Spring is really here;
cause it turned back into winter with a vengeance, and it's snowing!

Better go, have to wash the crap out of the van's tires!
I have a shimmy, & I'm taking Ray to GP on Wednesday for his pre op.

Hope you're well!
Talk to ya later!

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. --Thoreau

The Challenge right now over at HMFMC(186) is:

~ MAKE IT MASCULINE~

Pretty sure I failed miserably on the 'masculine' part, but I'm really sure this is an awesome "guy' Birthday card!!

Aaaannndd this my friends is why it takes me so darn long to make a card!!!
Decisions decisions!

You've still got time to play, deadline is this Saturday!

I'm also going to link this up over at

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
We're having unseasonally warm temperatures here in my neck of the woods...

In all things, be willing to listen to people around you. None of us is really smart enough to go it alone. --John Clendenin

I'm baaaaack!
Sorry for the unscheduled hiatus!
I'll show you the card I made.....FINALLY, then you can get on with your life without reading the blather!

I got the inspiration here!
Sadly, there are no more posts, and the link to Facebook is 'broken'!

At the end of August I moved to town. By myself.
I couldn't do it anymore.
You can think I'm selfish & petty, but I couldn't do another winter on the farm.

I'll give you a condensed version:
I couldn't keep up.
I had a humoungous list of things 'TO DO" during the summer.
Our season is sooo short; doesn't help that firepit Fridays were spent trying to stay warm into June!
Some things on the list were really BIG things that needed to be done on the farm, & at the house in town.
The majority got crossed off.
I did them.
Either by myself or with help from Vanessa & friends.
Winters are spent keeping the roof under the skylight free & clear of ice build up, making sure the driveway & paths & parking are clear of snow, keeping the wood furnace going, and on top of that I volunteer, and sell Avon on the side.
I couldn't do another winter.
I lost 20 lbs. over the summer (which didn't hurt), and almost my sanity!
Ray's ailments almost put me over the edge, with everyone, his family included, trying to help.
You can't help someone who doesn't want to help himself.
I spent a lot of time alone.
For years.
We started Sunday Supper years ago, so I wouldn't be eating alone on the weekend; we still have it here.
So I'm still alone, in my one bedroom apartment.
But, when I get up early, I do not have to tiptoe around until someone decides to roll out of bed at 12 or 1.
I'll be fine, and I think I finally have my S#!& together enough to start crafting, and doing things I want to do instead of things that need to be done.
I am not looking for sympathy, I'm tough, and I'll be allright.
The farm will be listed at the end of this month.
Besides my kids, this will be all I get out of this relationship.
I started the 21 Day no Junk Food Challenge, and walking on the treadmill.

I got this image off of pintrest, no I don't pin (so far), but if you search this comes up.
It's on my fridge.
The only thing I miss; Candy Canes, the little ones!!
My favorite this year are the Gingerbread flavor!

We had a wonderful Christmas, Kalen was home for 2 weeks.
He's enjoying college.
Vanessa's busy, and once a week she visits with a friend she grew up with, who moved across the street from her, and I go drink wine!

New Years was spent at Vanessa's then I went to a friends and we watched the Niagra Falls New Years Eve special.
I can walk almost anywhere now & do.
Friday nights are 'craft night' at a friends, we are making wooden welcome signs.
Big ones.
We're at the painting stage, and I thing they're about 3' X 2'!
I'll be sure to show you when we're done.

Work is really busy (of course), we had a wonderful year, a fun Christmas supper, and things are still going great.

There you have it!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope to be back posting regularly!!

Talk to ya later!
Hope you're all well!
