Sorry for the unscheduled hiatus!
I'll show you the card I made.....FINALLY, then you can get on with your life without reading the blather!
I got the inspiration here!
Sadly, there are no more posts, and the link to Facebook is 'broken'!
At the end of August I moved to town. By myself.
I couldn't do it anymore.
You can think I'm selfish & petty, but I couldn't do another winter on the farm.
I'll give you a condensed version:
I couldn't keep up.
I had a humoungous list of things 'TO DO" during the summer.
Our season is sooo short; doesn't help that firepit Fridays were spent trying to stay warm into June!
Some things on the list were really BIG things that needed to be done on the farm, & at the house in town.
The majority got crossed off.
I did them.
Either by myself or with help from Vanessa & friends.
Winters are spent keeping the roof under the skylight free & clear of ice build up, making sure the driveway & paths & parking are clear of snow, keeping the wood furnace going, and on top of that I volunteer, and sell Avon on the side.
I couldn't do another winter.
I lost 20 lbs. over the summer (which didn't hurt), and almost my sanity!
Ray's ailments almost put me over the edge, with everyone, his family included, trying to help.
You can't help someone who doesn't want to help himself.
I spent a lot of time alone.
For years.
We started Sunday Supper years ago, so I wouldn't be eating alone on the weekend; we still have it here.
So I'm still alone, in my one bedroom apartment.
But, when I get up early, I do not have to tiptoe around until someone decides to roll out of bed at 12 or 1.
I'll be fine, and I think I finally have my S#!& together enough to start crafting, and doing things I want to do instead of things that need to be done.
I am not looking for sympathy, I'm tough, and I'll be allright.
The farm will be listed at the end of this month.
Besides my kids, this will be all I get out of this relationship.
I started the 21 Day no Junk Food Challenge, and walking on the treadmill.

I got this image off of pintrest, no I don't pin (so far), but if you search this comes up.
It's on my fridge.
The only thing I miss; Candy Canes, the little ones!!
My favorite this year are the Gingerbread flavor!
We had a wonderful Christmas, Kalen was home for 2 weeks.
He's enjoying college.
Vanessa's busy, and once a week she visits with a friend she grew up with, who moved across the street from her, and I go drink wine!
New Years was spent at Vanessa's then I went to a friends and we watched the Niagra Falls New Years Eve special.
I can walk almost anywhere now & do.
Friday nights are 'craft night' at a friends, we are making wooden welcome signs.
Big ones.
We're at the painting stage, and I thing they're about 3' X 2'!
I'll be sure to show you when we're done.
Work is really busy (of course), we had a wonderful year, a fun Christmas supper, and things are still going great.
There you have it!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope to be back posting regularly!!
Talk to ya later!
Hope you're all well!

Happy New Year Gail............loving your post and your card x
I, for one, do Not think you are selfish.
There comes a time when one has to finally look out for oneself or you are no good to anyone else. You are a wise lady.

email to follow one of these days. :)
I see 2015 is bringing you some much needed changes in your life and I'm so glad to hear you are taking care of yourself. Life is always challenging but how you did what you did all those years is beyond me. Welcome back to posting, crafting, and enjoying some fun things in life instead of working all the time. You owe it to yourself to be happy Gail. Know that I'm thinking of you and only wishing you the best life has to offer. Ever need to chit chat, I"m here. Love & Hugs!
BTW........Love the card and design!
You are an inspiration - and in more ways than one. I keep my fingers crossed that you will soon find the time and peace of mind to craft to your heart's desire - this card is a very promising start, that's for sure!
Great card, Gail! Love the idea of flowers in paper.
Best of luck in your new adventures.
It sounds more like self survival than selfish Gail, you have ti do what is right for you and well done on you having the courage. I pray 2015 will be the start of better things for you.

Such a gorgeous card!! Well done, you! :D
such a pretty card gail! i have every faith that you'll be fine; from what i've read of your blog, you are one tough person with a positive attitude to carry you through whatever comes your way. take care of yourself and keep warm and cozy. when we get a dusting of snow, i have to thank goodness it's nowhere near what you've had to endure with your winters. spring is just around the corner. :)
hugs, linda
Gail, this is one pretty card & I'm loving the sweet flowers spilling out of this Tussie Mussie. Sounds as though you've had quite a rough time over the past years, and you can be justly proud of all your hard work. Regardless of the outcome, you gave it your best effort, and that's all any of us can do. Comes the time, when you just have to look at situations realistically and determine which way to go. Seems like you made the best decision you could make and now it's time for YOU. You can manage your life as you choose to enjoy it (which is what it's for anyway!) and go on to whatever makes you happy. Take pride in that you could make a difficult decision and move forward. To whatever awaits. At least it will be not working yourself to pieces to keep up with never ending chores. Good for you. It can't have been easy. TFS & Big hugs. Stay warm too! Have fun...embrace life.
