Blog Candy

Listen up my uncrafty friends!
I wanna chance at this, and the deal is I have to post it on my blog!
Here it is!

http://athousandsheetsofpaper.blogspot.com/2010/08/1000-sheets-for-thousand-sheets.html

That's the link....I couldn't copy & paste the picture...but I will try again!
I have to go back over there and comment that I put it on my blog, and make a comment, and if I hurry I'll be #1309!

Check it out!

Fall

I'm sure it's here!

I went on the Ag Tour Saturday, then for a 'Long Supper' at Dixonville, got home around 9:00 pm, and was picking my tomatoes & peppers in the dark!

It didn't freeze, but was down to 1.4C!
Last night was 1.2C!

I have pictures for you !

We went to a shop where the guy does honey, and all got a sample!

We went out to the Hutterite colony. This is canning already done for this year!

We got fresh Saskatoon Pie & coffee.
It was really interesting! I think they have it figured out!
Life's not about 'things'!

Then I saw this in one of the shops.......

WHAT! Do they send the young men into town on Saturday night?
A few renegade Hutterites at the colony?
The writing over the back tire says 'Final Approach'!
hahahaha!
We went to an exotic bird farm. Not much to see there. About 3 pens with pheasants, and these swans...that's it!

It was a great day though, and the price was right!

We also saw a doe with her fawn crossing the highway, and the fawn had spots! It's a little late for that baby!

Been really busy, and sooooo looking forward to camping & fishing this weekend!

Got a few cards to make this week! I also signed up for an ATC swap on the Fiskateers sight, a Halloween one. It will be my first, I'll take pictures. I did cheat and buy ATC cards at Michaels last time I was there!

Have supper tomorrow night with a few friends.

Have to make it to my 'other job' tomorrow or Wednesday night, as I won't be there next Monday!

It's about time to start my jams & stuff too!

Gitter done!

Sunshine & Watermelon

Watermelon has to be my favorite summertime fruit!
The sun is shining right now, but it really cools off at night now!
Gonna have to watch my tomatoes don't freeze!

I hung clothes outside on the line....that always makes me smile!
Whenever I hang underwear up I remember Ray telling me:
"I found a pair of underwear under my pillow."
Me: "Were they mine?"
Ray: "Who the hell elses would they be!?"
hahahahahahahaha

We went camping for a sleep over! I made Ray get up early(OK, so we were half an hour behind schedule when we left).
But we fished and visited and had a really nice time!

And I just tried to download some photos for you and it said 'failed'.

On my way home from 'my other job' I saw 3....I think....cranes!

I was hoping Criminal Minds was on tonight, but I don't think so.

Might have to play on here, or go make some cards!

I heard from the O/S yesterday.
His status on Facebook was "carried people against there will, doused them with water, sauces, syrups, restrained them, locked them up and in the end was rewarded with beer. Best sail ever. Crossing the line ceremony, look it up."
So I did! I looked here, but apparently there's a lot of stuff on it! Including utube!
Haven't got THAT far yet, but I'm sure I will.

Better go!

Still PO!

Alrighty...I've had an exhausting day picnicing with my peeps, and I get home to a message from the sales person I bought the Grand Caravan from.

Ray had called her last week to complain that I had dust coming in around the door seals, mostly at the back.

Her: "That's funny , you're the only one that's ever complained of it."

Me:" Ray, she doesn't give a s%#*, she was done with me as soon as I drove off the lot, you have to call service. I'll make a list and get stuff looked at when I go for the oil change that's on them."

In the meantime, Ray had called service, and they told him that it happens, sometimes they have to reseal them.

Today, at exactly 9:57 am, there's a message left from the sales person, asking about the trouble I'm having "with dust or something coming in?"
Give her a call, and she'll set something up with service.

Know what!? I'm a big girl, and I can call service myself, but because I hardly go anywhere, I might have to take it down earlier than it's first oil change.

Lets see.... I work Monday to Friday, I AM NOT taking time off work.
It's about 100 kms away and I've sat in their Customer waiting area before! Last time I was there, I had picked up a coffee at TH, but a guy had actually brought LUNCH!!??

Last night I was watching TV, House to be exact between 6 & 7 pm, and the Grand Caravan commercial comes on with the 4 guys crying in the back watching a football game. NOW, theyre advertising them for $19,999.00! And YES you smart asses, I WAS WATCHING A CANADIAN STATION!

Now, this is the SAME commercial I had watched the night of July 28th, the day before I went to PR to check these Grand Caravans out.
Only at the end of that one, it said the $150.00 document fee was negotiable.
When I brought THAT up at TSChrysler I was asked "What the HELL are you talking about?"
Because if you remember from an earlier post, their document fee is $499.00 (WTF)!
And YES, AGAIN, I was watching a Canadian television station!
J & I had discussed it on our way to PR, and he had seen the same commercial.....THE NIGHT BEFORE!

Also, and GAWD, nobody should have got me started again....the check for the Caravan was cashed before I even picked it up on Friday the 30th!

Okay, I'm done ranting......there's a reason why we don't shop there!
First it was the price, now the Caravans were ALL that price...so I thought oh what the hey!
I'll be thinking long and hard about my next vehicle purchase in 7 or 8 years!
After we fix the dust problem!

On a lighter note, the O/S called me Monday from Manzillo, Mexico!
He had a blast, and I think later that day they were on their way to Lima, Peru!
The kid's gonna see the world!
They've met up with another ship, and given it supplies, and he thinks they'll be together for the rest of the voyage.

I must go make some BD cards, and watch a couple hours of Criminal Minds, my new favorite show!

I LOVE My Job, I Love My Job, I love............

Well it's been an interesting first week back to work!
Yesterday I took the ladies shopping downtown (uptown)?

I went in later, and stayed late to take them for ice cream.
Every summer when the weather's nice, we have Ice Cream on the patio about once a week.
You HAVE to come outside for an ice cream cone!
That's the catch, because some of those people NEVER go outside!

Some of the ladies had told me that "It's been hot, and NO ONE has given us Ice Cream on the patio"!?

So we loaded up the bus, and that was a chore & a half!
I was trying to update my list to leave at the lodge.
I had people on that didn't sign up, not everyone brought their dollar, and after 10 times of hearing, "Where ARE we going?" from the people with dementia! I slid into the drivers seat, smiled at the residents who still have their faculties and said, "This is gonna be FUN!"
I took them up the highway to Hotchkiss, and there it was, in the middle of no where....A hot pink Ice Cream Shack! Sorry no picture, next time!
He has 26 flavors, but most of them wanted Maple Walnut, Chocolate, Strawberry, and plain old Vanilla!
I did talk one lady into Creamsicle Swirl, and she said it was great!
I had a waffle cone with Heavenly Hash on the bottom, and Moose Tracks  for the top scoop!

We then went to one of the staffs place out in the country, checked out her yard (Beautiful), seen the mare and new baby(sooo cute), and drove around aimlessly for an hour or so.
We got home about 7:30 pm.

I parked the bus, and took the keys in, and was filling out my time when F. came out of the bathroom, and said he didn't feel good.
Me: " Are you diabetic?"
F: "Yes."
Me: "Come and sit down."
F: "I have a glass of water over here."
Me: "I'll trade it for orange juice."
Got him sat down, found the floor girl and told her F wasn't feeling good, and that he was sweating.
She was busy, she'd tell home care, then the ambulance showed up for another resident!

Meanwhile, the guy with broken English is mad at me!
W: "Thank you for ice cream!"
Me: "Did you want to come?"
W: "Yah, Thank You for Ice Cream."
And he's agitated!
Me: "You can come next time."
W: " NO! Not coming this time, not coming next time!"
Worse than a child I tell ya!

Me: " I had a full bus, I couldn't take everybody, we're going again."
W: "Ohhhhh."
I'm thinking maybe he can't read the board and calendar to know what's going on.
Me: "We're going to Berwyn for lunch next Friday, do you want to come?"
W: "Next Friday, I dunno what I be doing."
Me: " I'll ask you next week, see you Tuesday."

Good Golly Miss Molly!

I didn't get home until 8:00 pm.
I don't know what happened with the resident the ambulance came for.....I don't know what happened to F, and I don't know if W is STILL mad!?
That's our first big fight since before Christmas....I guess we'll get over it!

So I'm up, doing laundry, the sink is full of dishes, and I've got a million things on my to-do list today!

Talk to you later!

I'm BAAAACK!

Yesterday was my first day back to work at the OFH!
After 3 weeks and 2 days!

Some residents hunted me down to tell me they missed me.
With others, like the exercise class it was a collective thing.
One lady told me it was too quiet without me there!
It's always funny, cause it's a short time for me, and it's FOREVER for them!

So we went on our picnic today with the other lodges.
There's 5 of us in the foundation, and every Wednesday from May to September, we get together.
The other 4 lodges are within 40 minutes of each other.
I have to travel 1 hour to be at the closest lodge!
Our picnic today was at Pratts Landing.
We've been there, and won't be going again.
It's over 2 hours for us to get there, and that's just too long for my peeps!
1 & 1/2 hours one way  is about my max!
I get stiff sitting in the drivers seat, I can imagine how uncomfortable they get!

So our trip for Friday was cancelled, the ladies want to go shopping.
Think I'll stay in and take them for ice cream at the new Ice Cream Shack down the highway!
I'll post a pic, I hear it's painted up real good!

Better go, I have AVON to sort, but don't feel like it! I'll take a stab at it though cause we're getting company tomorrow night!

Time Flies....

It's back to work for me at the OFH tomorrow!
I wonder if they missed me?

Made another birthday card.

I DID make this card for my mom's birthday, but wasn't happy with it, so she got one out of my stash!

I was also checking out the Fiskateers site and found another stair step card to try!
You can find it at Lea's blog here!

Check it out and you'll see why I'm so excited!
She made a card for my favorite holiday! Anyone?

She has other great stuff on there too!

I worked at my other job for 8.5 hours today.
No, I didn't get everything done.
One of our banks changed their stuff, and have a few glitches to work out I think!

We've lived here for 6 years now!
Hard to believe.
We lived in town for 30 years.
We've had this land for a long time, and put power on it, and Ray dug a dugout one year.
Then one time he said: "Wanna move to the farm?"
Wasn't hard to convince me, cause our neighbors were a pain!
We sold our house in town to our daughter and her then boyfriend.
He still lives there, and we still see him. They're still friends.
I always told people: "Vanessa wouldn't move out, so we did."
She hated that!

She's at a Backstreet Boys concert in the big city as we speak.
I think it's her 7th!
I took her to 2, then she learned to drive and I didn't have to go anymore!

The O/S called me today. He's in San Diego. He needed a phone number for the Bellavista Hostel in Santiago, Chile. Anyone? Even if I go to book online I can't get a phone number!

One of my Facebook peeps gave me one. He'll call again when he's in Mexico.
I was hoping the local librarian would read my facebook status and have a travel book and look it up....one can hope!

Our power keeps going out. Not enought to screw everything up, just enough so the clock flashes.
Drove me dithers last night so I pushed a button.
I was up and showered before I realized I was up and hour early!?WTH!
I was at my other job by 7:30 am!

Better go, I'm getting tired, and have to make the coffee yet for morning!

2 in One Day!

This is your lucky day!
I posted my cards for the CCAYR Challenge, now I'm gonna tell you stuff!

Went to a wedding yesterday!
It was great!
The weather was great!

This is the card I whipped up Friday morning!

This was the lovely bride coming down the aisle on the arms of her mom and grandpa!
She was radiant!

It was wonderful!

I made this card for V's boyfriend.
Had a little trouble with the embossing stuff on the patterned paper, but it turned out all right.

I don't make too many guy cards...I'm gonna have to practise.

Ray & his friend were outside today checking out the Caravan.
He PHONED me to come see where the dust was getting in.
That will be on my list for the first visit to Chrysler.
Did I mention the first oil change is on them?
Whoopty doo!

There was a message on my answering machine when I got home from GP, from PR Chrysler.
Said they wanted me to fax a copy of my registration.
Said Chrysler wanted the registration of all vehicles bought in July.
Well you know what?
Chrysler can call me and I'll fax it directly to them!
Oh yeah....I'm still WTF over the whole experience!

Better go! The holiday is OVER, and I'm back to work in the real world starting tomorrow!

August Challenge for CCAYR!

August Challenge!!!

Happy August Everyone! Can you believe we're about halfway through the summer? I hope it's been nice weather for you!

Here's our challenge for August.... Since many of us have had a lot of heat this summer, we're going to cool things down with SNOWFLAKES! Yes, as some of you guessed from the sneaks, your cards this month need to have snowflakes of some kind - in the paper, embellishments, stamping or whatever you like!

I like the way these turned out!
I actually made 8 of them to send to Stephanie!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggedy Jig!

Got home yesterday afternoon from staying in GP with V & S!
We shopped til we dropped, cooked, worked, hung out with the scrapbook lady at the little independent scrappin store, went out for supper, and watched 2 movies!
That's what I LOVE about vacations, I can do what I want!
To a point I guess!

The 'goin to Costco' car sold on Tuesday afternoon!
Money's in the bank!

The van worked and felt wonderful for it's maiden voyage of more than 100 kms.!

Of course I went to Canadian Tire and pimped it out!
Hahahaha!
I got mats and more mats, and a console of sorts, and a shade to reflect the heat in the windshield!
I DO have to trade it for one that actually fits!

I went to Michaels and found some great deals!

V & I went out for supper, cause I had a birthday coupon for Boston Pizza.
No tip there, it started out great, then went to hell.
V said: "Maybe it's cause you have the coupon for an entree?"
Me: "Well I think they'd want to impress me so I come back and spend some more money!?"
Really, this was the first time we'd had bad service there!

We watched Sherlock Holmes and Mona Lisa Smile.
Liked them both!

So nice to sleep in my own bed!

Today, I've painted the bug zapper post.
Put up the new shower curtain rod I picked up.
Had tea with my friend Feather.
Made a wedding card for tomorrows wedding....I know, cutting it pretty fine huh!?
Scrubbed the floor in the camper & made the bed. Ray used it last!

Now I'm talking to you, and goin to watch TV (cause it's like 200 degrees outside), and make some Christmas cards, for the CCAYR August challenge.

Better go.

Memories, and My Bags are Packed

The 'old' Going to Costco vehicle has been scrubbed inside & out for the last time.
It took a long time to clean it yesterday, maybe I was just prolonging the inevitable!?
Got a few attachments to that car, and it NEVER let me down!
It's sitting at the highway with our phone # on it, and we've had 2 calls today.

Yesterday, at 12:31 pm exactly, "Virginia" showed up on the call display.
Me: "Hello?"
Fine Young Fellow from Virginia: " Hello, may I speak to GL please?"
Me: "This is her."
FYF: "Are you the one that just purchased a Grand Caravan?"
Me; "Yes I did."
FYF: "Would you mind doing a 2 minute survey for Dodge/Chrysler?"
Me: "Nope."
FYF: "On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, would you recommend a Dodge product to your friends?"
Me; "10."
FYF: "Before purchasing at PR Chrysler had you shopped around? Either in person, or on the internet?"
Me: "Yes I did some research, and checked out another dealer, but only on the internet."
FYF: "Can you tell me which one?"
Me: "C Chrysler."
FYF: "Can you tell me why you didn't purchase from them?"
Me: "They only had 1 Grand Caravan on their website, and starting price was $28,000.00."
FYF: "That's great......Now on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, how would you rate your Grand Caravan?"
Me; "I only drove it home last night, I really haven't been anywhere."
FYF: "That's all right."
Me; "8, I'm sure I'll love it, but I only drove it 100 kms."
FYF: "That's okay. Now on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest how would you rate your overall WHOLE purchasing experience at P R Chrysler?"

BINGO! SNAP!

Me: "I'm gonna say 5, but that's pushing it."
FYF: "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, can you share with me why you gave that rating?"

HE ASKED!!!!

Me: "Mostly it was about the hidden costs. $250.00 for nitrogen in the tires, and it's not like you can refuse, it's already in them. Who knew the undercoating protection etc. isn't put on at the factory anymore, and that's an expensive option, there were others, but the kicker was the $499.00 document fee when there was no financing or trade in!"
FYF: "Can someone from Chrysler contact you?"
Me: "Sure."

Believe me, I'm not gonna hold my breath on this one......I'm still waiting to do the survey from having the car in to be serviced for my malfunction light!

Going to my other job tomorrow, then going to stay with V& S until Thursday.
Got a week of vacation left, might as well do something!

Ta ta for now!
