I'm having a heck of a time getting on here!

Big changes at work......as you know the oilfield is shutting down....
Some of the guys got laid off, as their maintenance runs were cancelled. Us office staff got our hours reduced. (That might be a good thing, as I should have more crafty time!) Believe me, I'm grateful to have a job.
Kalen has been sending out resumes, has had a few interviews, nothing in his field; a job is a job; he can tough it out until the economy picks up!

Vanessa & I had a movie date last night, we watched Tangled! Cute movie! 
I went to a birthday party for a 13 year old on Monday! Been a long time...
Of course I made a card!

She loves neon, and the lighting is terrible, but you get the gist!
The inside had neon pink!

I've been working on Valentine cards, we've started craft night Friday, suppers with the gf's, went to a movie, have to sell bottles, and clean the van; 7 of us are going to GP next weekend to see Johnny Reid!!!

I'm watching a friends house, shoveling snow....although the last 2 days have been above 0, so all the crap has melted off my van! Been studying for the D I V O R C E. It's ok; it was inevitable, and I'll be fine. I know, famous last words, but my lawyer seems to know what she's doing.
One of Vanessa's friends is having a tough time right now, and we were wondering why it's always the woman that leaves?! I'm lucky my kids are grown up, and that's all I got to say about that!!

The foot is really giving me grief. Those screws have to come OUT! The sooner, the better. Did I tell ya the surgeon wants to operate again.....think I did, but it's not going to happen! I have a Dr's appt. next Friday(February), and earlier this week I didn't think I'd make it! I called last week for an appointment....you know you live in a small town when....

Mom called on the weekend; said maybe we shouldn't go to the Amish Auction sale in Montana this year. Because of our dollar. If we don't go, she'd like to do an Okanagan Wine Tour, or check out NK'MIP at Osoyoos. On the other hand, she said, maybe we should go, cause there will be no Canadians there!! I'll keep you informed!

Hope the New Year is off to a great start!

We had our fireworks on New Years eve!
It was soooo cold!
We set up our lawn chairs, had our beverage in our to go cups and were an awesome audience; when the first firework almost took out grandpa and the house......
They think it tilted when it was lit, so after being properly horrified, we laughed, and got on with it!
 
I finished up some Christmas cards yesterday!
I'm either really early or horribly late!

Again, 30 minutes, pfft!
Three episodes of Dexter later!
That's just what I felt like watching!

I am busy at work, grateful every day to have a job in this economy.

I'm house sitting, for 3 months while the BFF is off to Phoenix for 3 months. WTH! I was at her place last weekend for the 'rulz'!
They've set mouse traps! Have only ever had 1 of the little critters, but don't want to take any chances!
I said, "Let me tell you about me and mouse traps! If one gets caught; with my gloves on, I will throw the mouse and the trap over the fence! I will NOT pry a little dead body out of the trap and reset it! I WILL however, buy a new trap!"

Other than that it's going well!
We've just had another cold snap (it is winter after all), and has been -20 something since they left!
It's been really foggy, the hoar frost has been amazing! Almost as pretty as the Northern Lights!

As soon as my laundry is done, I'm trotting up the back alley to the kids house. They've gone to Edmonton for the weekend, so will make sure everything is well at their house!
