Hello and welcome back to House-Mouse & Friends MC Blog. We are so glad you are here. The weather is getting cooler and the leaves are changing colors. This time of year is gorgeous and so we are celebrating this lovely season of change with our New Challenge.

So make anything that reminds you of this beautiful season of change. It could be related to Fall, School, Pumpkins, colorful Leaves, Football, Halloween, etc... the sky is the limit...

Craft a Scene/September Challenge

Our theme this month is Trees, Trees, Trees. So what does that mean, you ask? Well, we expect to see at least three trees stamped on your finished project.
We are looking for stamped or digi scenes that are finished projects (no ATC's or unmounted work). 

This is for the Challenge over at Craft a Scene!
Pretty sure I'm cutting it close, but I tried!

 

 

I even played with Flower Soft, I think I like the MS flocking stuff better, unless someone has a secret they're willing to share about how NOT to get Flower Soft all over!

Anyhoo, I think it's pretty!

September Challenge for Christmas Cards All Year 'Round

WARNING: This post may contain Christmas Cards!

 

This month the theme of our challenge is "Christmas Presents"

A nice simple one this month, just include a present on your project.

I didn't add a ribbon or a bow, but I DID do the inside!

 

I'm going back to make a few more of these/ hopefully 5 more!

SIGH....
My attempts to keep in touch with you at least once a week have failed miserably!

I did get the cards made and sent to SAS4K's Canada. Halloween, Birthday, Thinking of You, and a few Christmas.

Here are a few more Halloween cards.

I got my van back, on Wednesday (finally). I should be good for another 50,000 kms!
I'm hoping for more, cause I'll be paying once the warranty is off!
I've cleaned, puttered, put things away, got things out.......

Made my Happy Thanksgiving cards for mom & the kids.

Had a lovely time by the fire last night, yeah there's a fire ban on, cause it's so hot & dry, but we were real careful, and had water sitting near by!
Had friends that were passing through to go dig potatoes up north today!
They come a LONG way for spuds; I was happy to see them!

You know, the one in French!? hahaha
Well, the fire.......it's BAAAAAACCKK!

I've been getting up before breakfast and going to work........banking some time for next month!

I actually got up late this morning, cause were were outside at the fire pit until waaaayyy after midnight!
It was beautiful, and so many stars!

Already though, a load of laundry is waiting to be hung out, I brought the tomatoes in out of the freezer to make more salsa later, found my rubber gloves to chop up the peppers; believe me, I've learned! The beans are soaking for the salsa........
I'm going to repot some plants, put my board I cut & painted on the piece of furniture in the craft room that needs it, and do all the regular stuff that gets done on weekends!
I've had breakfast, finished the 8th scarf (one more to go);
I've played my turns in Words With Friends on Facebook, read blogs, I need one more cup of coffee, and I think I'm good to go!

HA! Surprise!
It's less than a week since I posted last!

I DID make a few cards! They went together pretty darn easy, cause I'm determined to use up some scraps!
These are going to go to SAS4K's, if I can get my S&!% together and make some more!

 

In other news, I told my boss I was like the hair dresser or bartender!

His people confide in me!

We then had thee oddest conversation I think I've ever had!

I told him some stuff that needed to be addressed, and some of the complaints the guys had, and then I blurted out, "I want a raise."

He told me that they'd had a family meeting, and discussed that very thing,

and we could do it several ways.

He says: "What were you thinking?"

I said: "I'd like a dollar an hour more."

He said: " We would give you $1.50."

I said: "I'll take the $1.50!"

And that was that!

That should keep me on my cloud for a minute!

 

Here are some of the tomatoes I picked Monday night, cause the temperature was single digits!

Of course today was tropical!

 

 

I cleaned them, took off the ends, squashed them into freezer bags, and tossed them in the freezer!

 

We also got our water hooked up Monday!

I'm happy I was home, so the meter and ugly stuff is all enclosed with the hot water heater!

First thing I did was scrub toilets, and wash a load of clothes,

because, as I told Vanessa, "I have REAL water!"

 

I made this salsa on Sunday out of last years tomatoes I had froze!

WAAAAAYYYYYY easier to pop them out of their skins when they're thawed!

I may never scald another tomato!

 

Tonight I made Rhubarb Relish.

(Cause I had nuthin better to do!)

It's an awesome condiment for meat, or hot dogs, hamburgers etc.!

Looks terrrible (it's brown) but is amazing!

 

These are the funky scarves I've been knitting in my spare time!

There's 7 there, I'm on the 8th, but haven't sat down!

It takes 2 hours to knit one!

 

I've got to do some serious shoe shopping when I get a minute!
Don't know if I told you, I have a pin and a screw in my foot from the surgery, and TODAY I finally took a pair of shoes to work I can wear!
Everything (where my shoes crease) seems to hit the pin (it's under the big toe), and is extremely painful!
I was even thinking of taking my slippers!
I'd have been laughed at; but pretty sure the comfort would have been worth it!

That's all I got!

Hopefully the gf's come out for beer and a chat around the fire pit tomorrow night!

Gonna be another fun filled weekend of chores!
Gotta clean out one garden, and put some of the furniture & stuff away, get out the bird feeders etc.!

I don't know what to tell you!

Fall is here, and that puts me in panic mode!
Summer's too short for everything I want to get done!
Work's been busy....only the POTD (hahaha/thanks Myrna), seems to stay the same!
I've been going early to make up for having to come home & have a nap after my surgery!
I'm ahead of the game now, but it won't last, cause I work the casino next month, and drive the handi van again at the end of October, beginning of November!
The refinishing of the wood adirondack chairs by the fire pit are now next years project!
Window washing needs to commence sometime in the next few weeks!
Everything needs to come out of the garden, including the potatoes!
I need a piece of wood, yeah I even measured it out, to modify one of my storage pieces in my craft room, and it'll have to be done on the deck, cause it might get messy with the painting, and screwing in.....but I'll gitter done!

I DID book my flight to see my boy in beautiful British Columbia in November, and if I'm really good, will be going to Phoenix, Arizona for a wedding in March!

On the list for today is SALSA!
And maybe putting the lawn mower in the shed, and getting the snow blower out (shudder!)!
I need to fix my BIG bird feeder too!

Yesterday I baked muffins using some of the cherries I strained out of the Cherry Brandy I'm making.......YUMMO!
I vacumed, did laundry, split wood, and pumped out the sewer forpetessake!
Ray better fix that this morning before he goes to work!
Think the pump fell off its bricks, or tipped over or something!

I HAVE been crafty when I have a minute....just not card making or scrapbooking!
I DID need 4 cards when I came home from holidays,  just dug them out of the stash!
I'll have you know I didn't even go to a craft store on my holidays, OR when I went to GP a week & a half ago!
HONESTLY......there is NOTHING I NEED!
Now having said that, I WILL be ordering some SU stuff by Friday........that's when the demonstrator places an order! It's always fun, she takes the orders, then draws for the Hostess stuff etc.!

There are some challenges I want to do this month though....we'll see what happens!
I have been reading blogs & stuff, and DID find this card I want to try!
I've been knitting funky scarves.........all the gf's are getting one for Christsmas.....
I'm not worried, they don't hang out here! (I'm on scarf # 7)

I'm baaaackkkk!
Ok, I've been back since last Sunday, but life's got in the way!
I'd love to have a routine.....that would last at least 2-3 days!

On the 14th I went to have my stitches out!
I was there 2 HOURS!
2 hours people.....I only had 9 stitches!
That's how tight they were put in! I guess so I didn't come apart at the seams!

The drive down to my moms was painful!
There's really no place to put your foot up when you're driving!
I had to buy Advil at a gas station and pay boot leg prices!
Anyhoo, the foot quit swelling every time I didn't have it elevated on Sunday, August 19th.

This past Tuesday I quit wearing the 'boot' cause my foot fit in a shoe, and I could move my toes!
I went to GP to see the specialist on Thursday.
I was at the hospital for 3 hours, had lunch with Vanessa, went to Service Canada to renew my passport, and got to Fairview at 5:30pm to leave my van at the dealers!
Told them to call me when it was fixed!
I have no cruise control (again), it's a dust collector, and I have odd ticking noises when I turn left or right!
No one's called!

I've been getting to work before 7 this week, and staying until after 4!
I'm not complaining, my desk is almost cleaned off!
No one does my job while I'm away!
I think I'll go to work Monday, even though it's a holiday.....there should be no one there except the bosses and the phones should be quiet!

Kalen was there for a few days!
He went to Shambhala which was close to my mom's then caught a ride!
I put him on the bus on the 18th!
Before he left, some of us did a brewery tour!

The mountain was on fire where we held the family reunion!

I got new shoes......

The one on the left is my lovely boot, so I don't put pressure on my toes!

The one on the right is for walking on the treadmill, much safer than bare feet!

 

 

Some cousins and I did a tour of Nelson!

Took the ferry over to Crawford Bay!

 

 

 

 

These vehicles were a popular sight in my travels!

 

 

There is Sand Sculpting going on in Creston at the new Ramada!

 

 

I also spent a few minutes with my blog buddy Myrna!

Who has been much busier than me since I got home!

 

The drive home was wonderful!

I drove up through Radium Hot Springs;

it's been so long I had forgot about these

 'Wildlife Overpasses'!

 

 

Had to take a samll detour to attend my oldest Grandsons graduation!

(I'll tell you that story one day!)

I met Vanessa there, she chaperoned the grad party!

He's on his way today to start college next week! I'm so proud!

Home now, my house is a disaster, I'm going to look after some stuff in the garden today, sort the bottles, and make some rhubarb pies!
