“When the past calls, let it go to voicemail, believe me, it has nothing new to say.” – Unknown

Hello!
I've been meaning to get on here 4-evah!!!
I downloaded my pictures this morning, went to do all my errands, and I'll admit, I then procrastinated!!
This post is picture heavy, as I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Alrighty, had my surgery.
This was the favorite (not) SIL sneaking pictures in recovery!
I requested a LARGE Starbucks coffee, and fries from Opa's after surgery, which was scheduled for 2:20pm May 18.
That folks, means no eating or drinking ANYTHING as of midnight the night before!
Haha, probably downed that in 3 gulps!

 My 19 was Vanessa's birthday!
Which call for a blue card with a dragonfly.
You can't see it, but the wings are shiny!

That Friday May 20, one of my bosses texted me before 6 am, and asked if I needed a ride.
I said "Do I?"
He said, "I don't think you're going to get anywhere."
I said I was ready, and walked outside to this!

I could hear the forest breaking with the heavy wet snow.
This was our yard at work!

These were the flowers we had put in the kid's garage.
Put them out for some sunshine on the weekend!

Then I left on June 3 for Kalen's graduation from Olds College.
He came & stayed with my aunt & I and we attended a musical event featuring Nice Horse! Pretty great evening.
The next day we went to Olds.

After he received his diploma, we posed for a picture, and I carried on to my moms.
The first sight of the mountains makes me happy!

Of course I needed to make cards for the graduates!
Yes there were 2 this year, on the same day!
Vanessa went to Sera's; I'm the surrogate grandma, and I went to Kalens.
This was Sera's card, sitting on top of the inspirational mug.

 This was Kalen's card.
I used my envelope punch to make the bow.
There was a great video on U tube.

I needed a birthday card for a friend before I left too.

I got home Sunday, just in time for the favorite SIL's birthday.
I made a fruit pizza which was a big hit.

 And a special cake.
We eat up at the SIL's grandpa's every Monday night, and he knows his grandson doesn't like sweets, so he says, "I have a watermelon, should I cut it up?"
Vanessa & I gave a resounding NO!
Vanessa said, "You'll see."

I made a pudding, cool whip frosting, and did a watermelon cake!
Remember the Dr. Suess cake a few years ago?!
This turned out a little better!
Oh, who am I kidding, it too was a big hit!

So I'm home for a minute!

Been to a few movies, The Jungle Book, the real one...Loved it!
Vanessa, Inge & I went to Mother's Day last Thursday......Loved it!
We've had Firepit Fridays, except when the Province wide fireban was on! We still got together!
Last night no one was around, so I went & drank wine with one of Vanessa's friends!
We're having a firepit in Vanessa's back yard tonight if it stops raining every half hour!

Decided to go to the Family Reunion next month; can't put my life on hold, just because my lawyer & Mr. Luck have everything else on hold!
My lawyer sends me a bill faithfully every few weeks, to 'top up my retainer' but nothing's happening.
I've also quit sending her cheques unless she sends me copies of everything she's billed me for.
Kalen told me I could write a book.
Told him I'd think about it!

I stayed with Kalen last Saturday night on my way home from moms.
We went to Drumheller, had Vietnamese food for supper, drove around, and popped in at Rosebud
We've penciled in a dinner theatre for next Spring!

At Vanessa's house they're getting the babies room ready.
I picked up the trim today.
They both had to work, so I sold the bottles, and picked up the base boards!

The trip to Kalen's grad, and moms' was the trip from Hell!
(She says with a smile on her face!!)
Because of my foot, yeah it's sore, and still swollen & bruised; also because I haven't been able to do anything but sit on my a$$, my sciatica nerve in my other leg started acting up! After surgery I filled a prescription for an antibiotic (strong) that I had to take 4 times a day.
Friday before I left I didn't feel good, and in my pointed head, I was thinking, holy moly these pills are 500 mgs each.
That's 2000 mgs a day!
I ended up in emergency Saturday.
I apologized for not waiting for the doctor.
I was nauseous, very emotional, and my foot felt like it was going to explode. I was in a lot of pain. Also, the sciatica didn't help!
They gave me a shot of Toradol.
I could feel it moving down my leg, and it stopped just below my knee, and I thought, COME ON!
I went back for out patients at 7:30 pm.
The doctor asked me who prescribed the pills,
and asked why I was taking them.
I said the surgeon, and I didn't know why I was taking them, did I have an infection, so I don't get an infection!?
Told me to quit taking them; when you take antibiotics, and your body doesn't need them they build up in your body and wreak havoc with your immune system! Oh Yay.....
Prescribed an amazing pain killer, and since my foot doesn't hurt like it did before the screws came out......
I've been doing more, walking more, and the sciatica has settled down since I got home! Yay me!
For now, because it is so swollen and bruised, I go once a week for blood work.
They can check for infection with BLOOD WORK people! Jeesh!

So that's it for me!

Better go trot up the alley!!
Hope everyone's well!
Have a great week, and what's left of the weekend!!
Talk to ya later!

THE BEST PART OF LIFE is not just surviving, but thriving--With passion and compassion And humor and style,And generosity and kindness.--Maya Angelou

I'm baaaackkkk!
Ok, I've been back since last Sunday, but life's got in the way!
I'd love to have a routine.....that would last at least 2-3 days!

On the 14th I went to have my stitches out!
I was there 2 HOURS!
2 hours people.....I only had 9 stitches!
That's how tight they were put in! I guess so I didn't come apart at the seams!

The drive down to my moms was painful!
There's really no place to put your foot up when you're driving!
I had to buy Advil at a gas station and pay boot leg prices!
Anyhoo, the foot quit swelling every time I didn't have it elevated on Sunday, August 19th.

This past Tuesday I quit wearing the 'boot' cause my foot fit in a shoe, and I could move my toes!
I went to GP to see the specialist on Thursday.
I was at the hospital for 3 hours, had lunch with Vanessa, went to Service Canada to renew my passport, and got to Fairview at 5:30pm to leave my van at the dealers!
Told them to call me when it was fixed!
I have no cruise control (again), it's a dust collector, and I have odd ticking noises when I turn left or right!
No one's called!

I've been getting to work before 7 this week, and staying until after 4!
I'm not complaining, my desk is almost cleaned off!
No one does my job while I'm away!
I think I'll go to work Monday, even though it's a holiday.....there should be no one there except the bosses and the phones should be quiet!

I've got the obligatory holiday pictures for you!
Fun was had by all!
There's nothing crafty in this post, so you can quit reading now if you like!

Kalen was there for a few days!
He went to Shambhala which was close to my mom's then caught a ride!
I put him on the bus on the 18th!
Before he left, some of us did a brewery tour!

The mountain was on fire where we held the family reunion!

Here's a picture at night, we watched it flare up!

I got new shoes......
The one on the left is my lovely boot, so I don't put pressure on my toes!
The one on the right is for walking on the treadmill, much safer than bare feet!

Some cousins and I did a tour of Nelson!
Took the ferry over to Crawford Bay!

These vehicles were a popular sight in my travels!

There is Sand Sculpting going on in Creston at the new Ramada!

I also spent a few minutes with my blog buddy Myrna!
Who has been much busier than me since I got home!

The drive home was wonderful!
I drove up through Radium Hot Springs;
it's been so long I had forgot about these

Had to take a samll detour to attend my oldest Grandsons graduation!
(I'll tell you that story one day!)
I met Vanessa there, she chaperoned the grad party!

The graduate with his escort!

Vanessa with the Graduates younger sister;
who got her dress off the 'Bargain' rack, cause she hates dresses!
It was gorgeous!

'The Graduate' & his gramma Gail!

Interesting pose, but in my defence it was probably the 30th time someone said 'smile'!
He's on his way today to start college next week! I'm so proud!

Home now, my house is a disaster, I'm going to look after some stuff in the garden today, sort the bottles, and make some rhubarb pies!
Hope you've all stayed out of trouble, and are well!

Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!
