House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

You guys are getting a two-fer!

No it did not rain...........I've done lots today,
just been working on this ever since they announced the challenge!
Supper's cooking!

The NEW CHALLENGE...
Our mega talented Teamie Kate, is hosting and has chosen the theme * Monochrome *

Here's mine.

 Sorry Bonnie!

I made a side step card.
I used Black, Grey, Silver with some white......
not sure I should've put the white..............
Anyhoo,
my Halloween HM was painted with glo in the dark paint,;
then I used flocking on his costume...........
which together smelled REALLY bad when I used my heat gun on it!

 I couldn't get a really good picture...sigh!

There's a cool spider web behind the BOO you can hardly see.
And the webs behind the spiders have silver stickles on them..............
Oh well,
I'll let you know if it glows!

I also got to try out lots of Halloween goodies I got last year after Halloween and
my enamel I picked up earlier this year!
No wonder it took me so long........and do we need to talk about drying time!?

You've got lots of time to play people, so get busy!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later.
Ta ta for now!

Craft a Scene September Theme - "Dusk to Dawn"

Our theme for the month of September is "Dusk to Dawn". OK, so this means we want to see night time scenes. In other words, no sunshine.

I'm playing along (before it's too late) over Craft a Scene.

This is what it looks like at my house when the sun goes down!

This card is already on it's way as a sympathy card.

Hope you're all well.
Talk to ya later.
Ta ta for now.

Laughter is the one form of communication every culture can understand. --Author Unknown

I have a minute!

Welcome Sue! Not sure if you'll learn anything here, but you might get a laugh or two!

Went out for supper with one of my peeps, bought groceries then came home!

I have 2 more BIG-ish projects, then I can build the bridge over the creek (spring run off),
then relax.....I think!

Kalen got hit by a truck riding his bike to work on Friday.
He's ok, the truck didn't stop at a stop sign.
I'm stealing this picture off the internet, so if it's wonky...........

He texted me right away.
I told him he'd be stiff the next day, but he works out lots, runs & rides his bike for hours, so felt all right.

I made him a card.

This will make him smile, cause he knows how far I'll walk for a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Here's the inside.

Not sure if you can read it, but it's a definition of "LUCKY"!
He told me he volunteered at the Mustard Seed that night,
cause when you "almost bite it, I figure you owe the world something" unquote.
The guy wanted to not report it and just pay for the bike;
Kalen reported it....
the bike is worth thousands......
oh to be young & have money!!!
It's a touring or racing bike....
my mom said she can't get out of the hundreds of $ for a bike, so can't imagine!

Then so we don't have another 'card for no reason' fiasco like here,
I made Vanessa a card!

She'll get the 'latte' thing too!
Hers has the definition of 'unique'!

AND.....in case you're not paying attention, I've fired up the sewing machine!
I tried it on this card here;
and practiced some more on these 2!
Okay, don't look too close!
That's why they're going to the children!

Tomorrow night is dinner with the gf's.
Thursday I want to wrap the water lines....again!

I'm taking the heat trace to the electrician so he can put a plug in on it.
I need 100 feet of it!
A couple years ago I told Ray, "this is the last year I'm cleaning off the roof"!
This year I mean it!
Hopefully this will melt the snow under the sky light so there's no ice build up.....
That's what should happen in a perfect world.........I'll keep you posted.

On the weekend I sprayed the last of the chemical out of my containers over by the sewer pump out.
Relax people, it's for control of the weeds;
Shadow knows the 'P" word, and the cats don't like the smell, so all stay away.
My little rubber boots leaked, so I had sewer socks!
I dug the rest of the potatoes.
The whole time I'm digging I could smell cat $hit!
There was none in the gardens.......
I was walking in it!
OMG!
I had sewer socks & cat $hit shoes!
About 4pm I came in,
shoved my clothes AND shoes in the washer & had a shower!
I tell ya....160 acres and they gotta go in or around the gardens & flower beds!

Had firepit Friday, and 5 o clock somewhere!

The strawberry bed is built, full of dirt, and covered til Spring!
I just have my gladiola left in the big flower bed,
but it hasn't froze hard yet and they're still blooming!
All the windows but one are washed on the outside!
2 are even done on the inside!
It has nothing to do with energy, this stuff has to get done!
Tonight I washed, bagged & hauled more tomatoes to the freezer.
I even bought some rubber gloves today,
cause I have a pile of peppers I gotta do something with!

Working on a couple more cards for challenges.
No, I don't have any more time, it just gets dark earlier!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

Christmas Cards All Year 'Round

WARNING:
THIS POST MAY CONTAIN CHRISTMAS CARDS!

Oh SIGH!

I like to play along over at CCAYR!

The challenge for September is
Christmas Fairies with a Little Sparkle.

I'm not a 'fairy' person people!
The design team samples are gorgeous, and so are the entries.........

I HAD to play, I like my Christmas cards to be done in a timely manner!
I don't like the last minute scramble!

Here's my contribution.

What can I say, she has wings!
It's a Bugaboo image! (I have a lot of them!)

Then I found this stamp set, and got right to work!

I then realized it's an angel not a fairy..............
So feel free to disqualify me..............
I have 2 more cards for the stash!

It's lovely here today, going to finish the windows!

Oh Yeah, I'm also going to link this up at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra!

Hope you're all well!

**Autumn Leaves** for HMFMC153

Wow, there are a lot of wonderful entries over at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge!

It poured rain here Tuesday so I had a minute to play!
This card is already on it's way to Kalen, for a Happy Fall Y'all!
Pretty sure he doesn't read the blog....but don't tell him!

I tried some Inca Gold on the embossed leaves behind the image.....of course it doesn't show up very well, but it is real shimmery!

You still have time to play so dig out your HM's, Gruffies or Hoppers!!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

Great acts are made up of small deeds. --Lao Tzu

Just checking in!
It's Fall people, and that leads to Winter (shudder)!

I haven't been playing in the craft room for ev-ah!
Just piling up the 'had to have' items off the internet & elsewhere!

It's supposed to be tropical again today, so the tomato & pepper harvest are on the agenda!
Also finishing the Strawberry bed; hopefully Ray sticks around long enough to haul dirt!
I'm also trying to decide if I need to mow once more, or the mower can be put away.....
I'm leaning towards putting it away!

This week I've sorted & sold some bottles!
Our bottle depot will be closing November 1st, and I at least want all the bottles from the campground gone & not sitting around!

I've dug half the potatoes!

I went to "We're the Millers" with some gf's!
Lots of cussing, which I always find unnecessary; and considering I didn't like "Bridesmaids" or "The Hangover", I enjoyed this.

One of the gf's son & DIL bought the "big drug store" in town.
I offered to help with inventory. WTH!
I arrived yesterday morning by 8:30 am, and at 9:00 pm told them I'd had enough fun, I had to go home!

I've got some more pictures from the "HOLIDAY"!

Here's the craft Kalen & I did.
Mom gave me my dads wallet to give to Kalen.
Said if he didn't want it, to destroy the stuff in it.
I didn't want to just give him the wallet so it could be tossed into a drawer.
We went to Michaels, bought a shadow box, mod podge & created!
Kalen wanted the wallet in there too!
I also had included a medal my dad had won in school for being the top athlete;
in like 1940 something!
I need to send Kalen a crafty safety pin (the right color), and he'll attach it to the wallet.
My mom also found my dads passport, so is sending that, and a black & white picture.
So really, everything is destroyed, and on display!

Vanessa finally spotting the lighthouse at Fort Rodd.

Awesome huge Christmas ornaments (and why isn't someone painting them) at Fort Rodd!
Actually they're buoy's, but pretty cool!

We hopped on an Aquabus when we got off the SkyTrain (why it's called that I'll never know);
where we were bussed from the ferry; to take us to Granville Island in Vancouver for the day!

I am standing in front of Hatley Castle,
where they filmed scenes from X-Men 2 and 3!
I'm facing the school (university?) they filmed scenens there too!

This was an awesome light in one of the stores on Granville Island!
It's from Ikea, and made out of paper!
It was about 3 feet across!

Here's Kalen being a 'tree hugger' so you can get some perspective on these humungous cedars at Cathedral Grove!
This was also where he said, "Mom, we're not waiting for you to take a picture of EVERY tree."
I brought up the rear and photographed as many trees as I wanted! hahahaha

This is where Terry Fox would have finished his run.
I think Kalen told me it's where the Trans Canada Highway starts/ends in Victoria.

I put the kids on the HIPPO BUS!
I took the 10 minute walk to Starbucks for their Pumpkin Spiced Latte!
It's a BUS not a BOAT people!

On my drive home on September 1st, I stopped to photograph the wildlife!
This guy was pretty big, eating clover, (shortage of berries I'm told),
and every once in a while he'd look up like, "Where'd all those people come from!?"

This guy was smaller, up the road a ways, and eating the clover!

That's all I got!
Hopefully I can get creative this week....
I've been hoping that for 2 weeks now!
Better eat, and see if the dew has dried up!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. --Neale Donald Walsch

Hello everyone!
Nothing spectacular....just wanted you to know that I am home!
Had a wonderful trip with the children, non stop laughter & hiking & eating & adventures & memories!

Here's some teasers, cause you KNOW there's more to come when I get a minute!!!!

A young man from Brazil took this picture for us at the Butchart Gardens!

Kalen & I standing in the Pacific Ocean at Port Renfrew;
Vanessa wouldn't cause it was cold!

Here she is after our 2 km hike (and nobody took the water), washing her feet with her bottle!

Kalen & I drank our warm bottles!!!

Everywhere we went in the wilderness the signs say,
"Bears can run fast.
Cougars can run faster.
DON'T RUN."
Vanessa said she was gonna run,
Kalen & I were gonna let her........bait you know!hahahaha

I won this paper from SU!
11 packages of their design paper in the new catalogue!
I can't wait to play!

We've had some issues here this past week, which is why I haven't blogged.

And of course its crazybizzy at work, so I've been tired!

I also had 2 AVON orders to sort & deliver when I got home!
There's still some in my van.
Gotta take a minute to go visit my peeps at the OFH!

I had my yearly (it's not even yearly, it's 14 months in between now) check up,
because I've had the BIG C
Relax people, it's been 10 years!
I.AM.A.SURVIVOR!

Had an eye exam, which had to be the full meal deal cause I've had a detached retina!
Ordered new lenses!
Told them when I had to wear my glasses all the time I'd get new frames!
Those people are pretty persuasive!

The water that was put in last fall is leaking under the mobile home!
Hopefully the guys are here tomorrow to fix it so I can finish that project!

I ordered a new bed & frame just before I went away; it came yesterday!
I bought beer, & fed the gf's that came to help me get it in the house last night!
We had a fire and visit!

Today has been a make work project, as I took out the old mattresses & frame!
Cleaned the carpets, drapes, etc. & set up the new bed;
which HOLY MOLY is a Princess & the Pea bed!!!

In between doing laundry, working on the Strawberry bed, I KNOW, I KNOW, it was going to be done weeks ago........I'm on it!

The weather's tropical so I'm outside........
the tomatoes & strawberries ae producing like nobodys business!

I'll be coming around slowly to see what's new with you!
Just wanted to check in!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!
