Hello!
Hope you're all well and staying safe!
I finally got to go see Bryson and his little family up in Northern Alberta!
When I told my boss I was leaving for 2 weeks, his assistant came to my office and said, "He's devastated you're leaving."
I said, "He doesn't even like me!"
I got a bonus, and a raise.
I will show you the cards I made before I went, then you can get on with your day!
I send Bryson thinking of you cards.
I had to make mom a birthday card, as I was away for her birthday this year.
Apparently I can't take a straight picture!
This was a stained glass technique from Jennifer McGuire.
Bryson had medical appointments in Edmonton, so I took him and his mom. They were going to do his surgery the next day.
As Vanessa was filling out the paperwork, he got bumped!
We went to the zoo!
I know that's not how you wear a mask! Don't judge.
We had to wear one when we went inside any indoor spaces at the zoo.
After his second day of appointments, I took Bryson on a surprise adventure.
We went to Jurassic Forest north of the city.
This is Vanessa saying 'who has the biggest smile?'
And...the wooly mamoth!
Which was disappointing, as Vanessa and Bryson were coming home with me for 3 weeks. She had to get someone to pick her up in the city (600kms/400 miles) and take her back the following week. I had to head home.
Hopefully we made some memories.
I bought him some sunglasses he NEEDED.
I had to try them on.
When they got home, Vanessa sent this picture titled 'Farmer Batman'!
He had his surgery.
Did so well, he was released the next day. The stay is usually 3-5 days.
When I went to visit, I had taken some card sets, stamps & ink for him to make cards for his friends & family. We just never had a rainy day to play.
Because he couldn't do little kid stuff, running, jumping, and bending over, Vanessa dug out the card making stuff.
Said he loved it! I said he will be the next Tim Holtz/Seth Apter!
I sent him a Get Well Card
There you have it.
There's been yard work, canning, cleaning etc. going on.
I think Kalen is painting mom's sidewalks today. I am making supper. We are very lucky to live in a place where there's a fruit/vegetable market on every corner. We try not to get stuff at the grocery store that we can buy from a local farmer.
Last weekend I replaced the tin foil on my back door with this.
It's a lot classier looking!
I do NOT have a new deck yet, the trees in the front yard are still up, and we're running out of this year!
I will try to come visit, your blogs. I haven't had a minute to do much!
Wash your hands, talk to ya later!
