Merry Madagascar!

Just watched that....so cute!

I was done work early yesterday, after taking my peeps to the Craft Fair at the Ag Hall.

Went over to my friend little P, and we watched Prisoner of Azkaban.
We then went and picked up R for the Ladies night of shopping at the $ store!
We had wine & cheese, and browsed. Put our names in for door prizes, etc!
H called me today to tell me, and I quote, "You won the basket, you little brat! You can pick it up any time!"
The joys of small town living!

These are the flowers I've been crocheting while we watch the Harry Potter series.

I'll use them on cards or scrapbook layouts!

Check Brenda out, she does cool stuff!

I started up the snow blower today!
Cleaned paths all over, and did the parking area.
Because it snowed I went to clean off the roof, and actually had to get on the roof, cause someone's been shirking his duties, and not cleaning it off properly.
I banged a bunch of ice off the shingles, and swept it off!

Came in and made a casserole for supper.
Beef & Noodle bake.
I found the recipe in the What's Cooking With Kraft magazine.
2 batches of Poppycock goodness!

I DO have a picture, I just can't upload it!
(Uploaded it this morning! November 28!)
1 batch of Peanut Brittle, along with all the usual housework.
Dug out some more snowmen to put out, and my favorite sign that says,
"All Of My Best Friends Are Flakes"!

Then soaked in the jacuzzi for an hour with Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade & my book......I want to be able to move tomorrow!
Watched an episode of Criminal Minds, and I think I'm ready for bed!

Tomorrow the Friends of the Library are taking the librarian out for supper, cause she's moving at Christmas, and going to Charlie St. Cloud. It's a fundraiser for the library!

Then we'll start another crazy week at my other job, and the OFH;  I really need to get the decorations up there!

So I'm Thinking...........

I haven't had anything crafty to show you for a while!
I made these for my Stamp Club next week!

Just a note....DO NOT START THESE IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FILL THEM WITH!
I made a prototype.....don't wanna use good paper if they don't turn out!
And it was perfect!
I made these on the weekend, and only got chocolate for them today.
I have REALLY GOOD 2 sided tape (from Scor pal), but they wanted to come apart, cause only 1 end was sealed!
I fixed that by attaching the flower and tag to the end that didn't want to stick!
The flower is recycled netting off a poinsettia at work!
I have a pile of it!

Today is Walmart day with my peeps!
Always good for a laugh!
Even if I have a list, they're sitting in McD's by the time I get there.
They toss all their purchases in my cart, and go again!
Tonight is supper with the girls, it's G's birthday.
Better find her a card!
Tomorrow is Happy Hour at the OFH.
Friday night, is a Wine & Cheese party at the $ store!

Sunday's a movie fundraiser for the library,and we're taking the librarian out for supper, cause she's moving at Christmas.
Monday is a lunch meeting with the 55+ club thingy.........I'll be representing the lodge, not that old yet!

Had to start my lodge calendar over from scratch!!!???
Kept closing, & said the file was corupt......even when I e-mailed it to myself....wouldn't open!

This will be short!
Just wanted you to know that it was a balmy -28 degrees celcius this morning!
It's warmed up to -19 tonight!

Was at my other job for 8 hours today.
I'm full time for them, starting in January! Whoop!

I then went to town, grabbed the mail, and went to my 4:30 pm meeting.
Which lasted until 9:00 pm!
I grabbed a few groceries, and came home!

Tired, not even going to look at a card or scrapbook page!
It's been a loooong day!

It's been a week of winter!
OK, not quite!
I BBQ'ed supper last Sunday!
Today, it's snowing, there's a wind, and I'm definately NOT BBQing!
I've got Chili in the slow cooker, the potatoes are peeled, and I'm going to whip up some cornmeal muffins for a change!
My cousin Carmel has a recipe blog......you should check it out!
I'm working on the laundry, and the GST, house cleaning, and scrapin'/ card makin'; in no particular order!
It's a great day to stay in!
I can hear Ray up on the roof......skylight!
He went up there all by himself, I didn't have to say; "You gonna clean the roof off?"
And he didn't have to say; "It's not done snowing."!

I spent the day yesterday, doing a load of laundry before I went to town.
Got my hair done......yea, it was time!
Then spent the afternoon, watching Harry Potter with little P, eating junk food, and I crocheted some flowers for cards/ scrapbook pages, whatever!
We watched the first 2, now I have to make a date for the next 2.
Might be this Saturday if I can't think of anything pressing to do! HA!

I built my desk earlier this week, and after not seeing Ray for days (we have different schedules), flipped it upside down, and wiggled it in here!
I'm now wired in the craft room!

And here's a couple pictures of my storage in my messy craft room.

But hey, I pretty much know where everything is!

Except.......and you knew there had to be a BUT!, I haven't found a good paper solution!

I have them sorted by occasions.......then.......nothin'!

I spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect color to 'go with'!

I spent all my allowance last November on these storage cubes from Michaels, and I really like them!
The desk is also 8 cubes put together, with the desk option on!
That gives me total working surface of 60 1/2" X 29".
Everything I use a lot is within reach!
I have wire DVD holders for my stamps I'm currently using, and I change them out as needed.

I could be perfectly happy in this room for days!
I have a phone, TV(with satellite receiver), DVD and VHS player, and now my computer!
The bathroom is right next door! I'm a HAPPY CAMPER!

I also told Ray I was having a nap this afternoon, so if he came home and I was flopped on the loveseat, "Don't talk to me unless my eyes are open!"
He laughed.

Better go, get something done!

Old Man Winter is Here!

Sorry I didn't take pictures, but it snowed last night, and it's probably here to stay as it is -10 out there already!
Plugged the van in.....YUP, had to find the block heater cord, and plugged it it!
Hoping the water situation is cleared up....literally!
Had muddy water yesterday, so Ray had to go get the boat AGAIN!
Hopefully it's fixed, and won't freeze up or anything crazy!

No, she's really NOT in a seedy part of town!
And I laughed the first time I saw it!
After months of that, you'd think they'd come up with something different!

Or am I too old to get it?! (You know, kinda like the bar scene!)
I'd really forgot how, obnoxious and scary, drunk 20 year olds were!
Then I wondered if the nice bouncers (who looked 12) at the bar, made sure everyone got into a cab when they left!?

I was at my other job today....I was the ONLY one there, and poor V's gonna go nuts if we don't get this discussed and settled soon!
She calls me every Monday!
They're getting ready for logging, cause a lot of camp shacks & equipment left the yard today!

Better go, we spent yesterday & some of Saturday cleaning up some more dead willows!
I have a meeting tomorrow in Berwyn!

The Bar Scene is Overrated!

I'm sitting here with the Dr. (ZenZen) eating popcorn.
Well, not really, I'm typing, and can't do both!
I'm actually recuperating from our evening out last night!
I did my shopping, Michaels.........
And my favorite independent scrapbookin store!

The Martha Stewart treasures were a real steal, I couldn't pass them up!

Halloween goodness for less than half! SWEET!

The stamps were in the $1.50 bin, except the musical note, but I had a coupon!

I picked up the deskSLASHbookshelf I wanted for the craft room.

It's still in my van!

I'm waiting for Ray to go to work so I can haul it in here piece by piece, put it together, and get the computer moved before he knows what happened!

V & I went out for supper to Tony Roma's, and then went to Rock City for the Tracy Lawrence concert.

Wrong!

I never brought ID!

"I'm over 50, that's BS, I. NEED.ID.TO.GET.INTO.A.BAR?"

V; "No mom, they ID everyone.

They scan your drivers license, then if you get in a fight you never get back in."

Me; "Oh yea, like that'll happen."

We wait outside, while her boyfriend S brings me my ID.

We get in, case the joint, and of course there's no chairs.

It's a bar people!

They've probably sold 1000 tickets, and have seating for not even half!

Anyhoo!

We asked some total strangers if we could sit with them.

We made new friends!

The doors opened at 7:30pm.

Tracy Lawrence came on at 10:00 pm.

When he came out and asked how everyone was, I thought V was gonna pee her pants when I crossed my arms and said; "Tired and cranky!"

So V & I made our way to the stage with all the drunken groupies.

Not a word of a lie!

I wanted to get some pictures.

V; "He's kinda hot for an old guy."

Me; "I just thought he was looking OLD!"

I pull out my camera.

A 7 foot tall guy standing next to me (HONEST!) takes my camera, uses his other arm to swoosh everyone to the side, and takes a whole s$#@load of pictures for me.

Of course, I was grateful!

I didn't want some drunk broad spilling their drink on me!

**PS. His band was scary looking!

I'm talking WWF; yup you heard me!

I was a Stone Cold Steve Austin fan back in the day,

and I blame the Radbourne girls for that....

Anyhoo......Tracy Lawrences' bass player....The Undertaker!

I guess while V & I were standing up at the stage, we missed 3 fights!
And one was girls! GAWD!
We never got back to V's until about midnight.
I don't think I'll do that again!
Too old for that shit!
Gonna stick to the concert venues!
Safer! And they start earlier......need I go on!
But hey.... I bought a CD and a T shirt!

So the girls, V & A & L are going back to Rock City tonight for Pauly D!
Sounds like more of what Rock City's all about, and last night when V asked L what she was wearing tonight (girls will be girls) L said, "I'm gonna get all slutted up for tomorrow night!"
OMG.....I'm waaaaay to old for this!

I got home around 12:30 pm today, and did some laundry, dishes, and cleaned up some of the yard, until the hurricane force winds started up!
I then came in, had cereal for supper, and finished 2 pages of scrapbooking, and did one more!
Hope to do a couple more tomorrow!
Better go, looking forward to my own bed tonight!

It's Remembrance Day

Hope everyone took a moment to remember our veterns!?

My trip yesterday with my peeps was to HC!
I had 9 passengers.
3 weren't out on time and the bus left without them, and one that was crossed off got on the bus!
I didn't have her noon medication!
Because she'd been crossed off the list people!
I was a tad cranky.
They ALL got the lecture about leaving the list alone. There's room at the bottom to put your name if it's full, and because of someone's thoughtlessness, someone went without their lunch pills.
Of course, NO.ONE.DID.IT!
Yoy!

I've got my bag packed to go stay with V and see Tracy Lawrence tomorrow night!

I also spent a some time outside today, cleaning up the willows.

I heard something in the bush.
I saw something in the bush.
I took a picture of something in the bush.
Then I went and got the gun!

Of course I didn't see him after I got the gun, and he's watching Shadow, who was in LaLa land!

I'm sure my dog has A.D.D. sometimes!

Fairly simple cards, but I like using the sentiments I don't have at home, for the inside and out!

She usually gives us a choice!

We had a lot of 4 and 5 generation pictures taken when he was little.

I've titled it 'generations', but not real happy with it yet!

My mom called tonight, and I told her what I was doing, and also asked how to spell some of the Grandmas last names.

She said, "Jason had the most grandparents of anyone I ever knew"!

I've got my Michaels list for tomorrow, and my arsenal of coupons! I'll be calling V, and she'll bring her friend L, and we can all get something at 40% off!

Let the Waiting Begin!

I was at my 'other job' today.
D didn't talk to his brother about me working there full time.
So left him my list of demands  negotiable items.
D; "Is this all?!"
I really don't have a lot, and I want to be fair, they're my spending money, the OFH pays the bills.
They pay me more, so don't see a problem.
It'll be less stressful too.
You NEVER have a day off from the OFH!
If I'm in a store I'm thinking 'oh my peeps would like that."
Craft store, 'I wonder if my peeps could do that?'
There's no end!

No wonder when I go to my moms I sleep like a log!
I don't have to think about anything!

The O/S status on FB earlier this morning was 'Bored at the Amsterdam airport.'
The kid's on his way home!
Ok, to his base, but the same country his mother's in!

I was outside earlier, and someone was shooting.
I called them a bunch of names, and came in, and after another shot, called Shadow to come in!
I told Ray, "It's like someone took a shot right beside me, it wasn't an echo, and you're not sure which direction it came from!"

I've got supper for tomorrow in the slow cooker, and scrapbooked 2 pages.
Ray's going to work, so I'm cooking it all night, instead of tomorrow when no one's around!

V's called 16 times this weekend.
She's excited about us going to see Tracy Lawrence this weekend!
I also sent her to Costco for popcorn, it's about time to start making poppycock for Christmas!
And peanut brittle, and fudge, and pepper cheese tarts, etc!
Do you make anything special?
I'll have to make marshmallows too if the O/S coming home....that's his favorite candy!
They can't be frozen though!

Better go, going to play at long term care tomorrow with my peeps, and to HC on Wednesday!

Green Acres is the Place For Me!

Yesterday was a little uneventful around here! WHAT you say!
I put the Halloween stuff away, the little that was out, and finished my cards for CCAYR, cleaned some, and started rounding up the snowmen that live at my house until about March!
I'm that ODD!
I change the coffee cups in the cupboard, the snowman glasses & plates come out, change the pictures on the walls, pillows, ....I know, it's sickening!
Oh well, gives people something to talk about!

And today.....I've done the laundry, burnt a bunch of dead brush from the north side of the house, cleaned the oven (ok, it cleaned itself, but I gotta scrub it out), made puffed wheat squares, and was gonna make muffins, until I had to clean the oven.
We also did this...........

That's the float to keep the water lines off the bottom of the dugout.

Will freeze asap!

This is an August job, not November!

I was the puller out of the boat!

Anyhoo, It's no wonder I'm the brains of the operation!

Ray was going to tie a rock to the hoses.

Why?! WTH!?

I have absolutely no idea!

I said; " We have a float to keep them off the bottom of the dugout, the problem must be somewhere else, cause tying a rock on the hoses, and having a float to keep them up just isn't working for me!"

The float is also tied to a stake on the north shore.

I went over there, and Ray chipped the ice away and I pulled on the rope.

Lo and Behold, it lowered the hoses!

So I tightened it up about 4 feet, and the hoses dropped.

Then Ray let the rope go on the float, and the hoses went to the bottom of the dugout!

Me; "You better go back out there and tie that rope up higher in the float! It's laying flat which means the hoses aren't being held up! I'm gonna get real cranky if I have muddy water tomorrow!"

Ray; "I'll be real cranky if the hoses plug up with mud a month from now!"

Hopefully we've taken care of that!

It also started snowing while we were out there...oh joy!

I'm now going to my room , got a few ideas for scrapbook pages, after I scrub the oven....still have muffins to make!

Decisions Have Been Made

I've kept my bosses at my 'other job' waiting long enough!
I was there yesterday, and D told me to write up a list of what I wanted and what I expected to be doing, and he'd do the same.
I had thought about this since last Monday, and they hire a guy to be the gopher, so I had decided that if I wasn't going to get bored, I'd like to be the gopher!
That was one of the things D said I'd have to do.
Pick up and deliver parts & people etc.
Yayyyyy!
I guess on Tuesday, I'll hand my resignation in at the OFH.
I'm a little troubled about that.
Feeling sorry for my peeps actually!
They've hired so many idiots lately, that I'm scared for my people.
Nobody wants to work anymore, and if they tried, they could have a lot of fun with those people!
The girls we have now are so busy worrying about what everyone else is doing, their jobs are suffering, and nothing gets done about it!
Oh well, such is life.
Guess when it gets bad enough something will be done to fix it, and the regular, dependable girls will suffer....that's what always happens!
Which is why I haven't been to a staff meeting for years!
Our last manager led by threats and intimidation, most of the girls were scared.

I speak my mind, and I'm not into being bullied and harrassed at my job!
If I stuck up for the girls, they suffered. Maybe a month of nights....all weekends, no holidays when they wanted them,you get the picture.
She made a co-worker cry; when she had days off and wanted to come work the casino with us; and was told she couldn't.
You should feel safe at your work place, not scared!

However, that's a big weight off!
I just have this annoying tic under my right eye, that I'm hoping will go away, as soon as I give notice!?

I'm working on my November cards for CCAYR!
I have one made.....I had some paper I wanted to use, and they'll look great!

Things Heard at the OFH in the Past Week or so!

Said at a party; "Sit down,  & shut up, before I kick you out!"
That would be me talking to a residents kid that Pi$$ed me off!
He was trying to turn the fans off, cause 'mother' was cold.
I went over and told him to leave them alone, with that many bodies in the place I could work up a sweat just sitting.
He started pinching my arm, and said; "Well if you weren't so..."
Me; "Don't even say it! Go sit down!"
I admit I'm overweight, what was going through my head at the time was, 'if you think I'm fat, it's a wonder your mother doesn't spontaneously combust!'
The first line was said, when he tried to follow me into the kitchen where I was whipping up delicious snacks!

Me; "Is it 5 o clock somewhere?"

Resident; after I blabbed about what was for supper, "Well the cook can be as lazy as she wants...the pays the same."

"Drop me off at Walmart."
Me; " We're not going to PR today!"

"Where's my basket?"

Where's my purse?"

"I need a thing to hold my dentures overnight, and a nice perfume."

"Why do you have to go to the Library for tea? You can have tea here!"
That; from the guy who can't come with me EVAH!

It's only Wednesday! 2 more days at the OFH!

I did find someone to organize the 'choir' at the OFH.
I actually got the guy who helps out with the School of Rock at the High School!

He's real excited and happy to help!

The conversation mighta went something like this.
Me; "They sing a lot of 'hymms' they call them. I call them funeral songs."
S; "Hymms? They should be called hers!"
Me; "You need to try to get them away from that a little, and teach them funky, more upbeat stuff."
S; "That'll be a challenge, and I'm up for it, and maybe they could perform with the School of Rock!?"
Me; "That would be great!"
He's gonna call me next week, and set up a date.
It'll be about every 2 weeks, but it's better than nothng!

It's gonna take me a while to scrapbook my first baby!
Not because I get sentimental (well maybe a little), I've got pictures to hunt down from all over, and I want it perfect....ya know!?
I've got 1 page done!
I guess if you break it down, and I did 1 page a week, that's 52 a year.....I'm fine with that!

And here's the page I finished, and you can tell this will be scrap as the mood, idea, mojo, whatever you call it, comes to me, the book will just have to be put together when I'm done all the pages!
I DID dig out a photo album that had a frame on the front, and I'm doing a Tim Holtz mask of time, I'll share when It's done!

The wind almost ripped the rolled roofing off.

I told Ray we could fix it next spring!

I was gonna climb up there, but he volunteered.

Ray also wanted me to take a picture of the woodshed, cause he got 2 more loads of wood on the weekend.

I guess he figured I was serious about not hauling wood when it's -40!

So it's overflowing now!

No one's gonna screw my day up, cause the O/S called me at work from Germany!

Alrighty, it was for a recipe, but hey!?

Sent him the recipe for Spaghetti Cheese Bake!

It's a crowd pleaser!

Rays' sister called before breakfast to congratulate me!
Ok, I WAS up and showered, but it was exactly 7:29 am!

Guess I'll have to see if Ray wants to come, then V only has to get rid of 1 ticket.
I doubt that he'll enjoy himself though!
It's at Rock City (go figure) and they will pack the house with about 1,000 people, and there's only seats for about 200?!
I'm prepared to stand, or maybe I'll take one of my peeps walkers. That outa get me to the front of the line, and I'll have a seat!

So, I have something to look forward to!
Oh what am I talking about, almost every day is a good day!

This morning when I went to the pump house to have my smoke, I could hear the fan running on the furnace outside, and no smoke.
Ray had cleaned the ashes out yesterday, then put in humongous logs, and they'd gone out. AGAIN!
Good thing it's still warm, cause there I was with my coffee, in my housecoat, and my little ducky boots, lighting the outdoor furnace! AGAIN!
When I got home tonight I toodled over there, and opened the door to see if there was a flame.....yup!
Hopefully, it goes now!
Those big logs just don't want to burn!
It's all green wood too, I don't want to babysit the darn thing all winter!
