Papper...I Mean Pepper Jelly!

I put papper jelly on my Facebook status last night, and haven't heard the end of it!
It's Pepper Jelly all right!?
It finally got made tonight!
I WAS going to make it last night....got the peppers ready (yup, wore rubber gloves this time), turned the canner on, went to put my jars in the sink to sterilize, and only 4 lids to fit!
That was the end of that!
I usually have an overabundance of lids....so DID stock up today!
Here's the proof!

I'll try my new recipe over the weekend. Cranberry Pepper Jelly, as soon as I find the rest of my jars, cause I just KNOW that everyone I gave jam & stuff to in the small jars, has returned them.
I must have miss placed them! ;)

I also made the O/S a Halloween card. And as soon as I find his address I'll send it to him, hopefully he'll get it between, arriving from his CRUISE and going to Germany!
I think he said they'd be in Guatemala in the next day or 2.
He has to work, so won't be spending any money!

This is the second time I uploaded this darn card. Nothing special, but I'm thinking that Co-ordinations paper is fast becoming my fav! And this picture doesn't do that paper justice! It's either black or a really dark green with almost a neon green that I embossed and sanded!
I was just fooling around, and made the pumpkin out of an oval punch.
I'm really not getting serious about anything until after the Christmas Tree ATC's.
I think I'll wander over to CCAYR in the next day or 2 to see what the October Challenge will be!
Hahaha, the card is sitting on my DS, which I was playing for a while before making this card!

Oh boy, remember a post or 2 ago I cryed you a river about working with idiots, and maybe they'd like me full time at my other job?
Monday the conversation went like this!
D came in, so I took my sticky notes for him to his office.
He was lounged back with his feet on his desk.
Me: "What are you doing?"
D: "I'm not gonna do anything."
Me: "You got a hang over that just won't quit?"
D: "That's the trouble Gail, at least a hang over goes away, I don't know what I picked up. I'm waiting for Tyson, then going home to bed."
Me: "OK fine! I brought you some more sticky notes but you haven't even looked at the ones from last week."
D: "You know what Gail, you need to be here full time, you can drive that f'en handi van once a week."
Me: "I'll think about it, but you ask me when you mean it."
D: "I'll bring it up at the next meeting."
It won't be a meeting, he'll just tell them how it's going to be.
I've thought a little about it.
That job is my spending money.
I pay my bills & stuff with the OFH job.
My other job pays better, but I can have a sick day here and there at the OFH.
I'm thinking I can negotiate something. 
I've only told 2 of my friends, and one is my immediate supervisor at the OFH. She said: "Well I feel sorry for me. You'll be bored."
My BBF said: "Well you've got a decision to make."

Good thing I'm not losing any sleep over it....yet!
I was fretting that I ran off the October calendar and newsletter for the OFH, and I think the only birthday I put on there for October was the Cadillac! Damn!
Oh well, it gives the residents something to talk about. I always tell them there will be a test on the newsletter and calendar!

Better go, got an e-mail today saying my drapes were cancelled! hahahahaha, the ones in stock, then will be shipped December 23. Now they're cancelled. Forgot the e-mail at work or I'd call, guess I'll be shopping online again!

Dentist & Glee

This morning I took my van to the dealer to be resealed, and got a ride to the dentist!
A million couple thousand $$ later, I have 3 teeth fixed. And an appointment in December to have them cleaned etc.! And my mouth hurts!
Remember I had broke my tooth, had a temporary cap on, which I busted eating pizza during happy hour at the OFH on Thursday!
So today was the permanent cap and the cavities front and aft of said cap! The back cavity had a mercury filling in it! WHAT!
I was sure I spent my kids inheritance going to the last dentist forever to have all those replaced!?
Apparently I have more!? WTF!

So I bought my groceries, a new light for outside that I'll wire up there this weekend....yes kids I do my own!
I have those STUPID coach lights, and when the one at the main door burns out, I have to stand on a stool and be a contortionist to get another bulb in it! This new light has NO BOTTOM! How easy's that!?
The other light is on a deck so it's not so bad! Yea, I only bought one! We'll see how many people notice my miss matched outside lights!

I then made a batch of salsa! Was gonna go to my other job, but the ripening tomatoes won out!
I really have to get some gloves for when I do the peppers! My fingers are still tingly!
I made the one with corn in it...sorry K! He doesn't like to eat anything that looks the same coming out as going in. WTH! Some sort of food fetish I guess!

I then watched GLEE!
I LOVE that show!
I makes me smile, and sometimes laugh out loud. Not unlike Two and a Half Men used to!
I don't watch a lot of TV, cause I always forget what nights the shows are on.
I try to catch Bones, and Criminal Minds.
I only started watching Glee after reading this post here by Mr. Gunfighter. I figure if a real bad ass like himself liked it....what the hey!?
Then I was reading this blog recently; and it made me laugh too!
So, seriously, if you haven't caught an episode, you're missing out on some awesome music. I guess they have CD's out and everything!
Face it, I'm a GLEEK!

I'm a Hurtin Unit........

That's what my cousin who joined the military used to say!
And I DID get into my tub last night!
Apparently it wasn't long enough, and I probably should be there right now instead of talking to you!

I just got off the PHONE after ordering my drapes and sheers.
I had trouble on the internet so I phoned.
I'm sure I was talking to someone in India or the Phillipines!
Don't get me wrong.....I don't think I'm prejudiced, I just really want someone who can speak English! (And not as a second language!)
I ordered drapes, sheers and a curtain rod, and as we were ordering, after each item, she told me to hold on a second while she saw if they were in stock. They were....all of them.
When we were done, she told me that the sheers and crutain rod would be here by October 7th, and the drapes by December 23. HELL O!
I'm still smiling about that one!

Ray was home for most of the day.
I DID get the pump house cleaned out.
It has to be ready for the -40 degree weather, so I can toddle over there in my housecoat, ski doo boots, mitts & toque for a smoke in the morning!
I know, so quit smoking.
I've really thought about it, and when the kids were in school I got nothing but grief, until one of our conversations went like this.
Kid: "Why do you smoke?"
Me: "I could drink and beat the crap out of you."
End of converstation!

Then; before Ray drug his ass outside, I started on the shed where the mower and quad live in the winter. The snow blower lives in there in the summer.
I had tossed a bunch of stuff outside, cause when Ray cleans his vehicle, he throws everything in a box and it gets put in the pump house or the shed.
I only threw 2 boxes out of the pump house.
They're actrually all still out there, cause he got called to work. Sure hope it doesn't rain!
When we lived in town, he'd clean his vehicle and toss the box in the garage, and V would clean her car and haul her box downstairs.
Now we have neither, so he has to learn to deal with it immediately!

Anyhoo, he'd brought a bolt bin home from an auction.
It's sat outside on the wagon for weeks.
Think 4' X 7' of cool pigeon holes! About 40 to 45 pigeon holes!
My crafty brain just went nuts thinking about the fun stuff that would fit in it!
So we revamped it, put a back on it and hauled it into the shed.
Me: " So, what can we put in there?"
Ray: "Bolts." ( Bolt Bin people!)
Me: " Do you really have that many nuts & bolts?"
Ray: "I have a lot and I can never find them."
By the time supper was ready, I had him talked into putting screws in the holes too!
I KNOW there's bags of those all over!
And some of the small power tools fit on the bottom bigger shelves.
sigh
Guess that's why I have a craft room!

I blanched some tomatoes for salsa....that has to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday night!
I'll be at my other job tomorrow, I have to wash my van, then I have a meeting.
Tuesday, I go to the dentist in the morning, my van goes to get resealed, and I'll probably go to my other job in the afternoon.
I also made my grocery list for salsa and pepper jelly!

Oh yeah. I went to feed the cats at the cat house today, and there's a stray cat with 3-4 kittens.
Not any of our cats....remember the coyote buffet earlier this year!?
They're not even little hissers & spitters, cause I picked one up and brought it to the house to show Ray.
Their eyes are open, but they're not very big.....don't worry, I'm not gonna get attached to them!

Better go, gotta get the coffee made and find something to wear!

Windows are Washed!

Ok, I still have 2 inside ones, but that's ALL!

I thought long and hard about drapes VS vertical blinds, but I think it's gonna be drapes.

I'm not cleaning those mini blinds again....they're toast!

The sooner I have something to replace them, the sooner they're going!

I also re arranged the furniture...we'll see how that goes over!

Busy week at the OFH!
Wednesday we went to Berwyn.
Thursday was the Birthday Party SLASH Happy Hour.
I also busted my temporary filling eating pizza at Happy Hour!
And yesterday I took my peeps to Walmart!

Found my costume for Oktoberfest!
Got a Tavern Wench. When I told V she said a guy at work told her that was a "bar slut'! How Rude!
We're having all the lodges up for an Oktoberfest on the 27th! I even bought a blonde wig with pig tails!
Gonna shorten the dress though! They're always too long, or I'm too short...whatever!
It'll be fun! Have to pick up craft supplies in GP when I go, so everyone can have a hat!

It's supposed to be nice tomorrow too! Great to hear, cause I've got 2 sheds to clean out.
Our woodshed is not full yet!
YIKES!
Told Ray to get the logs hauled over here and I can cut them up when I have a minute!
I should also clean my closet out...again, and take a bag or 2 of stuff to the little yellow house!

My embossing tool quit! WTH!
I haven't even had it a year!
I was on a roll doing my trees for the "Oh, Christmas Tree' swap.
On the 13,14 & 15 trees (cause it's a 3 set stamp) it just quit!
V got me another one, but I'm on hold with them until I get to GP

Which is only about 10 days away, did you forget? I'm going to see Johnny Reid!
It's gonna be GREAT!
A friend went last night and said it was 'awesome'!

I also go to the dentist Tuesday, and get my REAL cap put on my tooth. It's really not bothering me, so I'm eating mush carefully, and sucking it up!

Better go, might soak in my tub so I'm not stiff tomorrow!

Always Somethin Goin On Down In The Trailorhood!

V & S left around noon today.

I brought some more stuff in out of the camper.
Gave 4 window screens a bath & a shower!( They were REALLY dirty!)
Burnt the garbage, 3 loads of laundry, and was going out to wash the outsides of a few windows.
My BBF called and asked if I could make her a coffee before I washed windows.
I said: "Of Course!"

She brought out a chip for my DS that my little friend had given me(cause he had a new one)!
I played a whole level of Mario something! There's a whole whack of games on there! I'm not just stuck with Texas Hold'Em or Guitar Hero!

Yes, I did get the outside of 4 windows washed. And the bathroom cleaned!
Finished my ATC's

Now I can start my O Christmas Tree ATC's!

Later when I lock all the doors and see if my new favorite show is on, I'll fool around with some!

I need 26 of the trees!

I still need to make stickers for the back of the Halloween ones, then I can mail them!

Going to my other job tomorrow!

Gonna be another busy week!

And the trip to GP to see Johnny Reid can't come soon enough!

My dear friend is having trouble at work with a supervisor.

We all know the type.

Malicious and manipulative.

Or maybe we're the only organization/foundation with one of those!

I don't understand people, what is to be gained by making peoples' lives miserable?

It's the worst form of harrassment & bullying, and it shouldn't happen at that level of authority.

I know firsthand that the woman led with threats & intimidation,

but my immediate supervisor made me shut up.

Now it's a problem that they've created, and no one  knows how to deal with it!

(They've created a monster) REALLY!

I personally think this person overstepped her boundries a long time ago, nothing was done about it,

and now they don't know what to do.

It's kind of, YOU MADE YOUR BED, sort of thing.

My friend said if she's going down, she's singing.

Thing is, she's had the job for over 25 years.

I know that this woman of authority would make it so miserable for workers, that if you didn't quit,

she fired you, and she's got away with it for years.

She's a liar, and a con artist.

I feel bad for my friend,  I told her yesterday if she's singing  it'd be a DUET!

It's was a sad, been there, done that, got the T-Shirt conversation.

The woman in authority likes ass kissers brown nosers, and things done HER way,

and you're done for if she doesn't like you, doesn't matter how long you've been there!

She was appointed to the job she's in, in fact it might have been created for her,

and now the creators are trying to figure out how to get rid of her.

I think it's kind of a catch 22.

She's a big shit disturber, and then fixes things so she  looks good.

I have another job....they might like me there full time, or at least a little more than I'm there right now.

V & S got home for the weekend last night!
I should be getting dinner ready!

Yesterday I took my peeps up to the hospital for a BBQ and games. We hang out with them a couple times a month, cause lets face it, most of them end up there from our place!
On our way up there, F & E were in the seat behind me.

E: "Did you go to the hairdresser?"
F: "Yes."
E: " Well she didn't do a very good job."
Me: " E! That's not very nice!"
F: " That's OK. I just looked at her hair and figured mine can't look any worse."

GAWD!!!!
Just when you think they're all loosing their minds!

So today I'M at the hairdresser...you know, I DO go about every 7-8 weeks! Ever since she fixed my Goth look (Unintentional!), I faithfully go.
I make an appointment WAAAAAY in advance so my hairdresser can come up with some funky cut or color, or both!
We were discussing the color.
How about purple?
Not old lady purple!?
Nope, with magenta highlights.
Sure. YIKES!
(My thoughts are it's hair it will grow!) ( I'll tell you the story of my Fuschia hair some day!)
While we're on the subject, I say, "What's with some of my old peeps, coloring their hair, and it's such un natural colors, what are they thinking? What's their hairdresser thinking!?"
My hairdresser: "They're probably saying the same thing about you!"
 Touché!

Better go, gonna clean some stuff out of the camper! And I HAVE to start my windows!!!!
They're pretty gruesome!

Cookin'

V & S will be home this weekend, so I started tonight with my effortless meals! hahahaha
Tomorrow we're having Baked Pasta, and cheese bread, and Saturday I'm making fish and taco salad, for those that don't like fish!

Finished another wedding card, and I made an envelope!

Don't worry, I fixed the little turn down on the right there!

Gonna take a break until after the weekend, then will be finishing the ATC's for the swap, and starting the others!

Oh who am I kidding.

At 9:00 pm I'll be locking the doors to go watch my new favorite show in the craft room, so I'm sure I'll be experimenting with something!

One of the residents gave me a book....shhhhhhhh!

Once a week a lady comes into town and teaches us painting.

We finished a card today, and will start on a snowy northern lights scene next week!

I'm really enjoying it!

I have a few of her books....now just to practice!

She's moving south in the middle of October, so we'll be on our own!

Started decorating the lodge for fall today. Looks sooooo good. I'll take some pictures when I'm done!

Took a bunch of stuff out of the camper today.

Yesterday when I got home, Ray said he'd drained the water.

I said: "Are we done?"

So I guess that's it for camping this year!

I'll have to clean it out and wash it up etc.!

I also made him start the wood furnace last night. OK, I started it!

Wasn't impressed when I came home and had to put 3 wheelbarrel loads of wood in it!

I TOLD him it takes a stove full to get it up to temp!

Better go, almost time for me to lock the doors and watch Criminal Minds!

I've been turning the thermostat on in the mornings, so I don't freeze to death having my shower!

September Challenge for CCAYR

The September Challenge is:

Hi Everyone! Christmas is just 4 months away...are you ready yet????
The September challenge is going to be a card that is any shape other than the standard 4 1/4 X 5 1/2. It can be suare, rectangular, curcular, big, small, whatever, but not the standard size. You card must also have gold, silver, crytal or pearl on it somewhere as well!

I made slider cards, and while they were VERY time consuming, I like the way they turned out!
They are 3 1/2 by 5, and have silver and crystals, or stickles on them somewhere!

Hope you like them !

My inspiration for them came from the May 2010 CardMaker magazine. Page 60, to be exact, designed by Jill Jacobson, Courtesy of Sparkle N Sprinkle!

Happy Grandparents Day!

I'm going in to the OFH later to make Sundaes for their special day!
We used to have THE GREAT GRANDPA & GRANDMA EXTRAVAGANZA, but I'm too old for a sleep over and Gail just never got ANY sleep!

I've already got supper in the slow cooker, cleaned the kitchen, burnt the garbage, did a load of laundry, cleaned 1 bathroom, did the dishes, now I'm talking to you!

I think it's back to back Criminal Minds tonight, and you KNOW I'll be in my craft room with All the doors locked!

I've been busy.
Had to take the Grand Caravan to PR yesterday for some warranty work. Trouble is, they had to order the parts, so it means another trip. I told them I'd be down on the 28th, I'll drop the vehicle off, and someone will take me to the dentist.
I also took back the SECOND air conditioner that I bought with my duck money. (Remember my duck won first place back in June)?!
The first one was just wrecked when we took it out of the box.
This one, the fan was broken. Kinda ticks me off, what if I'd have waited until next summer to use either one!?
Now I have a credit there, oh well. I DO need a new beer fridge!
Then, cause Ray was working I went to my other job for 4-5 hours!

I've been working on a few projects in my craft room too.
Been working on some Thank You, and Birthday cards for my mom for Christmas. Don't worry, she doesn't read this! No computer, and she doesn't want to learn!

I'm working on my cards for CCAYR! I'm trying 'Slider Cards' and I'm liking the way they're turning out!

Bullies

As you know friends, I work at a Seniors Lodge.
Every Wednesday from May to the end of September our 5 lodges in the foundation get together on a picnic. Ask me later how much I like this!!!!

Today on the way to the picnic an hour and forty five minutes away; one of my peeps in the second last row kept jerking forward, and turning around. I could never catch the guy behind him....until on the way home.
Now,  a 7 year old  BULLY isn't funny, and it's really not funny when the guy's around 70!? :(

When we got to our picnic, I asked if G was bugging him. Now this guy being bugged is autistic of sorts, obsesive compulsive, you get my drift. He said: "No, it's all right. It's all right." WTF!

So when we got home the bully was the last one off the bus. I had debated after seeing him perform; and believe me it's hard for me to keep one eye on the road and the other on the bully! My peeps will tell you that I CANNOT gawk & drive! On whether I should not say anything, & make him sit in the front next time, or if I should say something when we get home. This guy is BIG.

I decided to say something, as I've seen him pick on this individual at his dining room table too.

Me: "You need to sit back in your seat and keep your hands to yourself."
Him: "What the hell are you talking about? I didn't do F@#% all."
Me: "Don't sign up next week, cause you're not coming with me."

There's a lesson in there somewhere folks...like don't cuss at the bus driver!

This is the guy, the only guy that comes to exercises, and he's really lazy, I can't watch him or I'd giggle through the whole routine, anyhoo, we play beanbags after and when one of the women get a bag in the 1000 point slot, he says 'bits'. That's BITCH in the real world kids!

I'm soooo damn mad at him, I'll have to tell home care not to bother signing him up, cause he won't be going! They say that these residents should get out, you know what!? They just don't want to put up with them all day!

I've had it with him!

He's off the bus!

I have the authority!

Dentist

I busted a tooth Thursday, and because of the holiday (Labor Day) couldn't get in to see a dentist until today.
So I went camping and ate very carefully!  I'm so glad that booze is in a liquid form!

Friday night when I got there it was a beautiful evening!
Got there just in time to go fishing!
I set up after we got in. In the dark!

Saturday V & S came for a sleep over.
Sunday when we went fishing we wore toques & mitts!

It was darn cold! Yesterday of course when it's time to come home, the lake was calm and it was warm!

Got home at 6:30 pm last night and Ray was at work.

So I practiced my backing up skills, and after 386 tries 20 minutes I had the fifth wheel parked on it's little pad! I also unhooked it from the pick up, AND dumped the sewer ALL. BY. MYSELF!

Yay me!

Then this morning I had the dreaded dentist appointment.

Got me a day off from the OFH, and this afternoon I went to my other job.

V got me a 2" hole punch. Not only a hole punch, but the cadillac of them all! Now I need the starter set, so I can use it! And we all know how much she loves going to Michaels!

Toast!

I'm always a day behind with my posts!

Yesterday I took my peeps on a picnic to Tangent.
We get to cross the ferry!
It's an exciting time for the residents!

On our way home, we almost met our waterloo, we coulda been toast, etc!

We were past the turn off for PR, so I set my cruise control. Yes friends, the Handivan has cruise control!
Not unlike those big 16 (or more) wheelers! But I digress!

This side of where the old scales used to be is a cross road, and a CN service truck was stopped at the stop sign.
THEN. HE. PULLED. OUT. wth

The things running through my mind at the time were:
Surely he can see me?
OMG, what the hell is this guy doing? I actually might have said that out loud, and it could have been
 " What the F%*& is this guy doing?"
Damn, I don't want to hit that approach.
And probably a million other things.

So I tromped on the brakes!
Squealing like on TV, I got around him on the approach, and came to a dead stop!
I said to my peeps, "I hope everyone was buckled up!?"
One lady replied, "My nose wasn't."

I pulled a pen out of my purse, cause I was gonna chase him and get his license plate #!

But to my surprise, he turns around and pulls up behind us!

I said: "What the hell were you doing?!"
Him: "I'm sorry, I thought you were turning."
Me: "WHAT!??!!"
Him: "I thought I saw your signal light on."
Me: "I was going a little too fast to turn sweet pea."
(My heart's thumping outside my chest by now)
Him: "I know, and when I realized you were going to fast to turn, I couldn't get that turbo across the road fast enough."
One of the residents: "What's your name?"
Me: "Now your gonna get interigated."
Him: "John F."
Resident: "Where do you live?"
Him: "Here in town. How's your heart, cause mine's out here."
Me: "I think I had a heart attack. You gotta be more careful."
Him: " Well that's why I came over, I wanted to apologize, you have a good rest of the day, and I'll try to drive more carefully."

GAWD!

I didn't know if I wanted to bawl, I had an instant headache (again! I'd had one earlier cause I work with idiots!), and I wasn't sure I COULD drive!

But I got my shit together, told the residents now they had something to tell their grandchildren!
Told them I thought this job would be the death of me, but I didn't think I'd die in the handivan!

They asked me if the bus had just been inspected.
I said, "No not until November."
They thought that it had really good brakes.
I said: 'Good thing those work, cause the emergency brake doesn't, you can drive around with that on! Better not tell Chuck we squealed the tires either!"

I'm stiff today, probably from trying to push the brake pedal through the floor!

I also wanted to tell you that I'm reading Twilight.
You know, darn kids, won't let me watch the movie until I've read the book!
I'm really not that impressed!
I'm about 130 pages in, and she's already figured out he's a vampire? Just cause they live in some rainy little town in Washington? Awww come on!? PUHLEEESE!
I thought Harry Potter was more believable than this...but oh well, I'll read them!

Better go, my SIL just brought 2 baskets of strawberries that need a bath!
