Winter, Summer, SNOW!

I lit the outdoor wood furnace last night!
I was FREEZING!
It was minus 0 this morning! (Celcius)
There was a bit of the White stuff, and it tried to rain or snow all day....but not very hard!

I spent the day cleaning up willows DH knocked down around the dug out last year!
Then we stated pulling out the ones that were dead and rotten at the back of the yard.

And this is how it's done!

Ray puts a wrapper around them and pulls.
I can't do that because I wouldn't learn how to drive the tractor...remember?

Then he packs them all away.

We'll get a permit and burn the big honkin' pile in the winter!

Here's Shadow smiling.

I didn't get the boxes for the horse shoe pits made yet.
Ray doesn't like me to use power tools, so I will wait until he's not home!
Otherwise he takes over the project!

The REA meeting is this week. That stands for Rural Electrification Association.
One of those things that are supposed to be owned by the members, but doesn't really work.
Most REA members want to sell to Atco. They feel their bill are too high, and that the service isn't great. PLUS! When we have a problem, the phone is answered in Camrose or some other town down south.
Remember when our power was out?
Shortly after, we received a little blurb with our bill about how when the power is out we should call right away, because it might only be us.......HELL-LOW!
We're only allowed one vote for directors, selling out, etc.
I said, "Both names are on the land!?"
Ray: "Doesn't matter, people who have lots of land only get one vote."
Me: "Makes sense, but if we still lived in town and there was an election for councillors or mayor, we'd both get to vote." "Tell them to take my name off the bill then!"

I doubt that I'll get to the meeting anyway.
I have one Monday, and another Tuesday....don't know if I'll be in the mood for 2 on the same day!
My friends Facebbok status was, "I have so many meetings next week, I might have to change my religion."

Better go get the bed out of the dryer.
Have to pick Ray up in G tomorrow. He's taking his pick up for body work.

On another note, this is the second time I've done this post!?
When it says there was an 'error saving' in red at the bottom, it means it...heads up! Pay attention! Just sayin!

Ta ta for now!

It's a Cloudy Day in The Neighborhood!

It's been an eventful week, and it's only Thursday!
I got these on Tuesday at the OFH!

Aren't those awesome!
They're from my 'other' job, and were delivered to the OFH on Monday.
Makes me think the safety person didn't get any.
And it kinda makes me feel bad for sending a snarky e-mail to one of my bosses Monday!
 (I have 3 over there!)
They're for Professional Administrative Week.
Gawd, I was good with just Secretary's Day!

I need you to go over here and check out Lisa's blog.
She's really crafty, and has some awesome BlogCandy!
As soon as she gets 100 followers, she's drawing for it!
You COULD get lucky!

I was decorating the lodge at the OFH for Mother's Day yesterday.
My old gentleman with the REALLY thick accent says, "Somebodys coming?"
Me: "I don't know, is someone coming?"
Him: " Somebody coming, geve u a prize cuz iss pretty."
Me: " You'd think so hey?!"
One of the ladies said: "What did he say?"
Me: "Somebody should come and give me a prize because it's so pretty! I'm putting W (My gentleman) in charge of that committee!"

I'm not just in charge of the Recreation at the OFH....some days I am the recreation!
They LOVE it when the place is decorated.
Helps them keep track of the months, occasions, special events and so on.

Most days it's pretty entertaining around there!

I stopped at the computer store in town today, where the residents purchased their 15 inch digital picture frame. I told them I'd bring it in one day nexte week, and they could put all the pictures on it that I wanted on, and get it to work properly!
It's supposed to randomly go through ALL the photos and then start again. It doesn't even get through once, and stops. ALL. THE. TIME. AT. THE. SAME. PHOTO!
Has forever. I've tried putting different photos on, and everything else I can think of, I've even deleted that one, and it still stops at any photo I have on there of one individual! She's not even that bad, doesn't live at the lodge or anything! She's our former mayor!

Started sorting paper in my craft room. I know, I know, I'm always sorting paper!
Just can't find a system that works! Yet!
I've been trying to find the embossed paper I bought in GP in February! Someone took it! It isn't there! Gonna have to get V to get me some more when she comes home Sunday!
She's checking to see if my punches are there anyway!

My number one son graduated from Basic Training today! He didn't want anyone there....until about Sunday!
Then I said: "I think it's a little late!"
It's across the country....yadda yadda...Sure I'm disappointed, hope he took lots of pics!
I'll see him when he gets to Victoria! It's closer, I've been there, and love it!

It's really cooled off today, and been cloudy....but no rain...it's badly needed!

Better go...I'll leave you with a few more Arizona pictures.

Here's me and the 'DUKE'!

The girls at a rest stop on the way to Sedona.

Bus stop!

Alrighty, must go get my beauty sleep. Taking my peeps to Walmart tomorrow!

Volunteer Appreciation......

Went over pretty good I think!
We had a FREE movie for our community Volunteer Appreciation!
167 coupons for the Free Pop & Popcorn were turned in!

It was sure less work, and less stressful than having a luncheon!

We helped clean up, and I was on my way home by 9:00 pm
Gotta love it!

Lookit here!

We've got LEAVES!!!!!
It's APRIL people!
Usually I'm holed up in my craft room until the end of April!
Cause it's too cold/wet/miserable/ etc. to be outside!
It's been darn tropical!
Love it!

I'm not gonna plant the garden or anything crazy like that!
I'm sure we'll be paying in May or June!

But we can sure get a jump on things that need done!

I made a thinking of you card for DH aunt. Whe moved to an Assisted Living place just before Christmas, as she'd had a stroke.

I've sorted the AVON.
Whipped up a card.
Watched Bones.
I've been up since 5:36am

I thought I'd lost my camera at the theatre last night.
It's an awesome camera. It takes great pictures!
The kids got it for me for Christmas a couple years ago.
Plus I had just put my new and improved battery in it. It lets me know how much TIME I have left on it!
I was worried sick, because one of the bags I had packed to my car had a hole in it!
So, I called the nice lady from the theatre, and she called me back at 7:00 am and told me it wasn't there!
Asked me where I was parked, so I told her, and she called me back aqbout 20 minutes later!
NOTHING!
So I was still cranky about it!
I get to work, and get the bags out of the back seat.......and there's. my. camera!!!! YEA!
I kept frantically going throught the bags, and it probably DID fall out of the one with the hole, and as I'd rifle through one, I'd put it down and rifle through another!
So I kept covering the damn thin up!

It's good, I'm good, it's alllll good! Only 2 more sleeps til TGIF!

Better go.

The Robins are BACK!

Well, apparently they've been back, but I had a yard full of them today, and it's the first time I've seen them!
Your gonna have to trust me on this!
I was putting a new screen in one of the doors on a picnic table out back, when my subconcious heard a lot of rustling etc.!
Robins everywhere!
By the time I came in to get my camera, the cats were out and the robins had flown the coop (so to speak)!
And the screen I put the new stuff in?! Too tight dammit, it's warped in it's little slot! I'm going to get some plastic screen, this was metal and was not very forgiving!
I did take some pictures of them in the trees, but honestly, they're too far away!

I finished my mom's Mother's Day card.

Here we go again with the perfectly centered print!
Can't get it to move over!

I took a picture of the moon last week when it was full.

Cool huh!

We had a fire at the OFH last Friday!
1:30 pm. Full staff, and the REAL DEAL!
We did what we were supposed to. The problem was the people that wanted to help!
Learned a few things, and there's a few things that should be done different!
We'll see what the talk is tomorrow when I go back.

I did go Saturday and pick up some of my peeps to take the to the quilt show.
Nobody said anything though!
I won a door prize. I'll have to get a picture for you.
I almost cried when they told me that Pat L. had started them, and the quilters had finished them.
I used to work with her way back when, and she died last year of a brain aneurism.
The quilt show was in honor (memory) of her!

Been busy cleaning the yard, etc.
Burnt brush all weekend. We've been cleaning out all the dead willows, and planting Spruce Trees. Well, alrighty then, we're replanting them! They're started in the forest, but are too close together.

AND.....the posts are in for the horseshoes! That's another, "Ya know yur a redneck when...!"
I'll be making the boxes this weekend, and hauling the sand! Just have to get Ray to haul home 2 sheets of treated plywood to put over top.
Oh come on....you know they'll just be HUGE litter boxes if I don't cover them!
We each have a set of horseshoes....I think they're the same weights, but I'll be checking them out!

Had an all right day at my other job today. Only there 8 hours, but D should be home soon and I"ll be there forever!
Not next week though! Got a meeting at 4:30 pm!
Talk to you later!

OH CANADA........Oops!

So my dear family and friends.
I've got a new flag.
Finally you say.
The other one had almost rotted off the pole.
But, as I told my brother in law, I wasn't taking it down until I had a new one, cause how could I see if  it was windy or not!?

So you've all heard the shop local shpeel!
I was shopping this morning with my peeps, and someone had told me that they weren't paying $60 for a flag. (Are we patriotic or what!?)
And he was right! They were $40.00, $50.00 & $60.00!
Gawd!
Then we went to the local Drug Store; you know; the one that charges a fortune for everything.
Hold on to your hats! I found one for $10.99!

So I got all the stuff together.
Duct tape, scissors, those plastic little rachet tie thingys.
Put the flag up and stood back to admire my handiwork!

Crap!
Started all over again!

There! Got it!

Still have a headache....don't know what's going on!

I even had a good day with my peeps!
We went to the library for tea and cookies.
There was an open house next door for Sunset Gourmet (?). Spices and stuff like Epicure.
Then we went to Granny's Fashions! It's a second hand place.
Ended with Ice Cream up at the Snack Shack!

Now I'm getting the AVON done, and will go and get creative in the craft room!

Monday, Migraine, Meeting

In that order!
It IS Monday!
I was at my other job, and got a headache, which took it's sweet time turning into a migraine (yes I'd like to throw up!)! I took normal drugs, then had to take 1 (ONE) of the other drugs. The kind if I don't take soon enough I can be stoned and still have a headache!
I also had a meeting at 5:45pm. I DID go, I'm the secretary!
I just have a nagging hurt behind the eyes, and I'm really tired, and YES I'd like to throw up!

I couldn't even drag myself into my craft room when I got home.
The craft room I have to spend 1 hour an evening in Monday to Friday; cause I have one!
Good thing I spent a lot of time in there on the weekend!

I'll be late getting home tomorrow night too, as I'm going out for dinner with friends.

It's warmed up, and the sunrise this morning was wonderful, and NO, I wasn't up in the middle of the night to see it! It actually rose at a decent hour....sometime before 7:00 am!

I got the stuff for mom ready to mail.
Her grandmas family is having a reunion this year too.
I found their site on Facebook, and joined, so I could get information for her.
I'm thinking I should go with her, but there's this cousin I didn't like when I was little and made to play with her, I'm thinking I probably won't like her as an adult!
Plus it's July long weekend, and I'd hate to miss out on some serious fishing!

K's graduation is next week, and he doesn't want anyone to come. Said the flights, hotels, yadda yadda are expensive.
Grandma S is right PO'd at him. Said we had to go for him, and all the other kids that won't have anyone there.
I told her I thought it was a little late now.....it's less than 10 days away.
I really wanted to see my baby in uniform!
He does have some pics on Facebook, but they're in their fatigues.
Anyone can wear camo!

Better go, getting tireder by the minute.

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells......

I'm having dial up issues (again/still)!
Wanted to write this last night, but couldn't get on!

We've had hurricane force winds, cold, and it tried it's damndest to blizzard!
There is snow on the ground, but it won't be staying!

I'm doing laundry, making squares (I know someone will call at the last minute for dessert for the meeting tomorrow), slow cooker's on, will do a loaf of bread later. So I can get another good day of card making in!
I DID make Rays aunt a birthday card. She's a retired nun, and has a birthday this month!

I found this paisley and thought it would work for Birthday Cards.

Did another one.

I've also been working on Christmas Cards (of course)!

I love the way these next ones turned out!

I was reading a blog the other nite, and her advice was to "Blog for yourself. Blog like no one is reading your blog."

I don't advertise, cause it just is for family & friends.

I don't care if no one reads this! It's for me, and things I like to write about and do!

There are sooooo many crafty blogs out there! With crafty people who will tell you exactly what they used to make the card, measurements, embellishments, papers, etc.
I can never keep track!
I buy stuff I like, and will eventually get used! Gotta quit buying patterned paper though! Have to use up what I have! (Hence the paisley!)

So enjoy (or not)! Here's few more pics from Arizona!

Slackin' Off.....

Well not really!

I've finished my cards for this months challenge over at Christmas Cards All Year 'Round.

I DID stamp sentiments in a bunch of cards today....2 were upside down....oh well, I fixed those! Good thing it's easy to put an insert in! Hope the recipients don't all think I screwed up, because I put inserts in the darker ones as it's hard to stamp something that shows up!

I tried tidying up my craft area. V is coming home tomorrow. NOT that she'll play in there or anything! You'll never guess what happens when you drop a sheet of rub ons on the floor without the protective coat!!!???
Any one know how I can get them off?
Just plain scrubbing the floor didn't work!
They were white, so are hardly noticable....But I have a giggle every time I spot them! Not a haha one, a rolling of the eyes I can't believe you did that one!

I promised some pics from Arizona. Man, if I was retired or won the lottery you wouldn't have to twist my arm very hard to live there!

This is us at Tortilla Flats.
Population 6
30 miles from water
2 feet from Hell

And this is the food we got!

Awesome food, and a great time!
I don't think we had one bad meal there!
Except for breakfast, we ate out every meal but one!

I will be spreading the pictures out!

I have a large envelope ready to send to the O/S tomorrow. I got him a T-shirt in Arizona. Want to get it to him before he's done his basic training. Then he says he's going to Victoria.
I wanted to go to his graduation, but it really soesn't sound like he wants anyone there!

I'm hoping to have a minute tomorrow to order a Scor-Pal or a Scor-Buddy!
Our dollar is about par, so should be great! I'll let you know how it goes!

Better go get the bed made for V! Gotta remember to get milk & stuff too. Isn't it funny when our kids come to visit, you find yourself getting the stuff they like!? If I have a minute I might make some puffed wheat squares too. They're her favorite! I also sent her a text asking her to check and see if the punches she ordered me are in! Also some foot powder for her dad!

Happy Easter! And Cards.....

I cleaned house and baked yesterday so I could play in the Christmas Cards All Year 'Round challenge!

Here is the challenge for APRIL...

Since spring is here, make a Christmas card with at least ONE soft pastel color on it. (could be baby blue, soft pink, pale yellow or pale green)

So here are mine

I think I covered it all! Pink, light green, yellow & blue for the pastels!

Hope everyone's having a wonderful day with family and/or friends.
The kids aren't home this year, so Ray & I had steak, baked potatoes etc!
V will be home on Tuesday for a few days. Her income tax is done, and she has to sign for it.

Ray plugged the culvert that runs under our driveway in hopes that the dugout will fill. We didn't get a lot of snow this past winter, and I'm happy the buffalo are gone!
The dugout is filling, so tomorrow he'll have to dig  the culvert out....or I will!?

The geese are back!

This was taken in Rays sisters field on my way home from work last week!
