Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase.

 It's 'kinda' spring here!

We have sooo many projects on the go!

I am on project #2 for me. Project #1 is clearing up all the dead branches in the back 40. I am bringing them to the front, so if when the trees come down in the front yard, they can all be chipped up for use other places! I pull out all I can, but when they're still froze down, I move on. Project #2 is trimming the cherry trees. I am on tree #2 but can't go up & down the ladder anymore today, so came in to try & finish my Easter cards.

Kalen is on project # 29 out of; I am not sure how many he has on the go. He did finish one yesterday. His greenhouse is up, needs a few tweaks, and now he's marking where the posts go for the guy that's going to push them in. Oh yes, he has one section of trellis up for the secret garden!

I made 2 get well cards. One for my friend Helen who had back surgery.

One for Kalen who stepped on a nail Monday, and drive himself to the hospital for a tetanus shot!

It looks pink in the pic, but is really red!!

Moms St. Patrick's Day card.

I am not sure why it's so tiny!

In other news, we've started some plants. They are happy in the little inside greenhouse, with grow lights(we have to wear Men in Black sunglasses for), and heat mats! They're for the secret garden.

I haven't face timed Bryson lately, but his mom sends me pictures!

Did you know they have karaoke in pre school!?

Oh what fun!!

And he's learned how to wink!

He stands on that stool for his picture, so I think he's getting so tall!

That's all I got! Work is busy.

Mom got her first vaccine!

Kalen might be getting one now, as at their job they're considered essential workers.

He said he didn't know how he felt about that. His co worker, and I am in agreement, said, when they call your name, go.

We will all have a turn, and if Canada gets their poop in a group, it should be sooner rather than later!

So for now, keep on keeping on!

Wash your hands & wear your mask!

Talk to ya later!

Stay safe!

“Be brave to stand for what you believe in even if you stand alone.” —Roy T. Bennett

Hello!

Hope you're all well and staying safe!

I finally got to go see Bryson and his little family up in Northern Alberta!

When I told my boss I was leaving for 2 weeks, his assistant came to my office and said, "He's devastated you're leaving."

I said, "He doesn't even like me!"

I got a bonus, and a raise.

I will show you the cards I made before I went, then you can get on with your day!

I send Bryson thinking of you cards.

I had to make mom a birthday card, as I was away for her birthday this year.

Apparently I can't take a straight picture!

This was a stained glass technique from Jennifer McGuire

Bryson had medical appointments in Edmonton, so I took him and his mom. They were going to do his surgery the next day.

As Vanessa was filling out the paperwork, he got bumped!

We went to the zoo!

I know that's not how you wear a mask! Don't judge.

We had to wear one when we went inside any indoor spaces at the zoo.

After his second day of appointments, I took Bryson on a surprise adventure.

We went to Jurassic Forest north of the city.

This is Vanessa saying 'who has the biggest smile?'

And...the wooly mamoth!

We were in the middle of the Jurassic Forest when Vanessa got a call from the hospital. They could do the surgery the following Firday.

Which was disappointing, as Vanessa and Bryson were coming home with me for 3 weeks. She had to get someone to pick her up in the city (600kms/400 miles) and take her back the following week. I had to head home.

Hopefully we made some memories.

I bought him some sunglasses he NEEDED.

I had to try them on.

When they got home, Vanessa sent this picture titled 'Farmer Batman'!

He had his surgery.

Did so well, he was released the next day. The stay is usually 3-5 days.

When I went to visit, I had taken some card sets, stamps & ink for him to make cards for his friends & family. We just never had a rainy day to play.

Because he couldn't do little kid stuff, running, jumping, and bending over, Vanessa dug out the card making stuff.

Said he loved it! I said he will be the next Tim Holtz/Seth Apter!

I sent him a Get Well Card

There you have it.

There's been yard work, canning, cleaning etc. going on.

I think Kalen is painting mom's sidewalks today. I am making supper. We are very lucky to live in a place where there's a fruit/vegetable market on every corner. We try not to get stuff at the grocery store that we can buy from a local farmer.

Last weekend I replaced the tin foil on my back door with this.

It's a lot classier looking!

I do NOT have a new deck yet, the trees in the front yard are still up, and we're running out of this year!

I will try to come visit, your blogs. I haven't had a minute to do much!

Wash your hands, talk to ya later!

With our love, we could save the world. --George Harrison

Good Morning!

The world didn't end.....my cousin in Austrailia told us it was 'business as usual', as she left us hanging cause she was having a massage! haha

We had a wonderful, cold Christmas!
Would have been better if Kalen was here, but he did call from the ship, and everyone talked to him!

I was spoiled, as usual!
Gotta tell ya the highlights!
I got a $1,000.00 travel vouchure from  my bosses!
When I thanked them for it, I told them it was right up there with the tickets the kids got me to go see Emerson Drive, Doc Walker & Aaron Pritchett!!!!!

I worked Thursday & Friday, and will work Monday!

My mom had called Sunday, and asked about brining the turkey;.......get on the internet & look it up, and call me back....hahahaha!
So I did, we did,

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/turkey-brine/

http://savorysweetlife.com/2010/11/how-to-brine-a-turkey/

turned out great; don't put the stuffing in it, the gravy was awesome!
Didn't have to add anything!
I just used what was in my pantry, and I'd do it again!

Had trifle for dessert!

We ate too much, laughed too hard, played games, and the kids even took out the skidoos Christmas Day, in -30 something with the windchill!
Ya know you're from Canada when...............

They got all dressed up, and we asked if they went to the bathroom!
My gf was here, and she said kids should be sent out on the step, before you get them all dressed up, cause when that cold air hits them........................
She's the same gf who said, "You've got Christmas everywhere, and no tree!"
See, no one really missed it!
And one less headache and stresser for me!
(Hahahaha that rhymes!)

Vanessa was babysitting her cousins dog over Christmas, her name is Reese!
She didn't stay long when wanting out!
Someone had to dress up and go with her, or she wouldn't get off the step!
I. KNOW!
A dog in the house; she was no trouble!

Here's Buster at work, knawing on road kill!
I told B there was half a dinosaur out my office window!
Ya know yur a redneck when you give your pet half the animal for a bone!

Shadow's been loving her heated dog bed already this year I can tell you!
Last year she slept outside, cause it was too warm for her!

It's on the upward swing, days getting longer!
I see this morning it's only -6!
OMG, it'll feel tropical out compared to what we've had!
I better go, get ready to go to town.
I'm delivering AVON, and looking after houses for 2 gf's!
Ya, I know!
What was I thinkin!
I hate intensly dislike going to town, on weekends & holidays, unless I'm going to something!
I'll get over it!

Ray hurt his back; thinks he's 20;
pulled something putting a humongous log in the wood furnace!
Yeah, I know you're thinking 'how convenient';
but he really did, he's got drugs & everything!

My mission today is to pull some snow off the roof!
(Which was Rays' mission, until he screwed that up!)
We have a handy dandy thing called a 'roof rake'!
It's awesome, as long as the snow is not packed!

Anyhoo, I made a card for my gfs stepdad who had a heart attack just before Christmas:

He's a John Deere man!
Farmed forever, still has a tractor or 2!
Hence the John Deere green!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks to my blog friends that sent me cards & stuff! You know who you are!
I appreciate it!

Happy New Year everyone......just in case I don't get on here again before then!
Hope you're all well!
Ta ta for now!

All of the animals except for man know that the principle business of life is to enjoy it.- Samuel Butler

Good morning, or afternoon, or evening......whenever you're reading this!

The O/S is home from his sail!
Sent me an e-mail, he needed bills from the house he owns in town for his income tax!
So I made him this card to go with!

I just let the cardstock do the work, so it might be a little girly.....oh well!
The inside says "Just walking on sunshine"!
I added "It's all good", and told him to have a great day!

The day after I mailed that batch of papers he needed, he texted me, telling me he needed more papers!
I told him to get his S#!& together, and I made him this card!
He's having surgery tomorrow....no, nothing serious!

That's a little more masculine!
I put a real bandaid over the stamped one!
He'll get 2 cards in one week....that will be something of a record!

I was excited to hear he'd be home at the end of March.....
his birthday's April 1st (go ahead, have a laugh!)
Try & tell your friends & family you had a baby on April 1st!
One of my gf's said,"Yea right, April Fools!"
He's the child, who, when he was about 8 or 9, and I asked him what he wanted for a birthday cake; asked , "Why do we have to have birthday cake? Why can't we have Birthday pie!?"
I have made him Lemon Meringue Birthday Pie when he's home, ever since!
Yup, you can put candles in pie!

This is how cold it was Friday morning on my way to work!
I.KNOW!

Here's the beginning of the sunrise the same day!

Yesterday I had a few recipes I wanted to try so my friend P came out to sample them with me!
Ray sometimes forgets where he lives when he's done work, so I dine alone!
We had Mexican Cheddar & Rice...I'd make it again!
Gnocchi & Mushroom sauce.......I'd make it again, and I'd actually even make the Gnocchi!
And I whipped up some fresh buns to go with!
We drank wine, had a few giggles; she likes to see my latest creations!

Better go, gotta post my Cards for CCAYR!
Maybe work on a HM stamp!
Make some muffins for my lunch, and maybe Ray's read the instructions for the log splitter,
cause I sure haven't!
Have a great week people, and thanks for keeping in touch!

Ta ta for now!

I can resist everything except temptation. - Anonymous

REALLY! Still eating everything!
Not smoking though!

When I got my last Stamp Club goodies, the instructor had cleaned off her desk and tossed the cast offs my way!
So far I've made these.

This one says "U, to have a Happy Birthday" on the inside.

This next one, I tried out my Large Classic Inverted Scalloped Square Nestabilities!
Lovin the nestabilities!
Did I mention I got them  HERE  for all you Canadian readers!?
This place rocks!
I ordered Thursday, my stuff was here Monday!
Gotta love that!

It says 'Better Get Better" on the inside!
Of course I just had to scrunch up the ribbon, and slap on the biggest button I could find,
so it will. never. fit. through. Canada Posts. Normal. mail. slot!!
Cha ching!

Then, this evening I got fuel, at the bulk place....you know, one where you put your gas card in, punch in the pump # etc., it's after hours, there's no one in the office.....
Well, it's not -30, I had nothin better to do than stare at the pump.

Then I checked out my receipt!
Lets have our lesson of the day.
The pump says 57.43 litres.

My receipt says 67.43 litres.
HUH!?
I took the pump picture after I got the receipt!

But see, I think I got 57.43 litres in my vehicle, but my receipt says I'm paying for 67.43 litres!
I'm wondering how long something's been out, cause not everyone is anal like me and gets a receipt.
Most people fuel up, and drive away!
I WILL be calling Monday morning to take on Corporate America...ok Canada; and let me tell you that I'm batting about 0-5 right now!

But somethin ain't right!

Better go.
Am planning on going to the 'Material Girls' quilt show tomorrow.
Meeting my friend P there for the show, and lunch!
Gotta support the small town functions!
Talk to ya later!

Ta ta for now!
