My friend Therese came over yesterday to play with the Big Shot, so I colored and made a card!

 It's a House Mouse image. Old wooden stamp called Flutter-By. It's a Halloween stamp so left off the pumpkin!

I masked the mouse off and stenciled the background. The Flower is popped up and is a stamp and die (Echinacea) from Technique Tuesday; Thanks is from the same set.

Years ago I made an open stand up box to hold cards. Couldn't find my recipe so made my own. It holds 12 cards.

Cut a piece of card stock 10.5" X 7.5"

Score on the long sides at 1.5"

Score long way at 4" and 5.5"

Glue sides together.  Clip the top corners. Done! 

*Edit: This will hold cards that are 4.25" X 5.5"

The image is colored with Ohuhu markers. Stickles on the raindrops. EF is SU. Spellbinders dies. Some DP, twine and charm to finish. The charm and twine are also to hide the black smudge that must have been on my die.

It's Liz over at Allsorts for the next fortnight. She would like to see Shades of Blue. There is also the Anything Goes option.

I should have save this card for this challenge!!

 I used a Stampendous House Mouse Designs/ Happy Hoppers called Hoppy Moments. The trees are SU. I stamped and masked off the image to blend my blue sky and stamp the trees; then colored the kite and image with Ohuhu markers. I took embroidery floss and did the kite tail string and string for the kite. The sentiment is Concord and 9th. Image is mounted on navy cardstock on a white card base, and a few enamel dots from my stash.

This is a House Mouse stamp from Stampendous called Warm Mug.

SU sentiment and Spellbinders embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment on the patterned paper. It got lost in the embossing, so redid it and die cut it! (Sentiment was also crooked!)

I have used a Stampendous stamp called Ornament Candy.

Colored with Ohuhu markers. Sentiment is Lawn Fawn. Glossy accents on the bauble. Used traditional red and green card stock. Green is embossed with an old SU folder.

I went to the Christmas light parade Saturday night! Was fantastic. We were at the beginning of 35 minutes of awesome smiles! Started pouring rain just as we were leaving, so pretty sure the people watching way up the street were soaked.

It's been a real busy time! Of course I am not telling you anything you don't already know! Tuck Shop tomorrow; haircut, my car goes to the shop! Have to make my Greek pasta salad and rum balls for the pot luck supper on Thursday!Thursday is Scrabble, and a pot luck supper. Friday is a night out to see the Blossom Valley singers; Christmas songs! Saturday the library is hosting a free book page ornament making class. All supplies are included! And so on!!

It is called Holiday Travel. Colored with Ohuhu markers.Rims and trim were colored with a metalic pen. Glossy Accents on the windows and lights. Some shimmery paint on the snow/ road, and a few gems. Image is popped up and put on  stampendous die cut paper and cardstock. Background is from a 6 X 6 pad of Carta Bella or Echo Park (old).

 I fussy (shudder) cut out my House Mouse image. I die cut the boughs. Attached them all on paper from the $ Store, which was attached to a kraft card base from Chloes Crafts. Put a LOT of sparkly ornaments on the branches, glossy glaze on the lights, sentiment from Creative Expressions, and called it good!

I said I had a minute to play because here's what's been happening since the end of August! I delivered Bryson to his parents in Edmonton on August 30th! I don't even think they were home and he's already planning for next year!

In September my mom decided she was selling her house and moving to town. She found an apartment in a Seniors complex.

Her property sold in about 36 hours!

I had to find a place quickly! I had been looking, but the rental market is tough, probably like anywhere else. I looked at a place, said I would take it. The (very nice) people went on holidays to Hawaii, and when they came back, I started moving in. I have been here since October 18th, mom moved to her apartment on October 20th. 

Closing date for her house is November 30th.

She loves where she is! Gets 2 meals a day. Which meant she had to downsize big time! Her little one bedroom apartment might be 200-300 sq ft. Her house was almost 2000 sq ft!

We had a huge yard/ garage sale, but not everything from the house made it out!

I am here to tell you....those rooms and closets you never look in. Clean them out NOW! Honestly; because I moved in with my mom 3 years ago, I sold almost ALL my furniture. I still had things in boxes because I didn't need anything. I have a storage container; and every day lately there have been 3 boxes on my kitchen floor. I am being ruthless! One box is for storage, one box is for the Girl Guides and one box for the Thrift Store. I am happy to say that I can get 4-5 boxes into one for storage! Now I am digging all the Christmas stuff out. I look at it for a few days, and find most of it relegated to the Thrift Store box. We really don't NEED all that 'stuff'!

I love my little space, it's a one bedroom modular with TONS of light!

My craft desk, and majority of the crafty stuff is in my living area! It's the first time in 10 years I haven't had to sleep with it in my bedroom!

I am not in town, but I am closer to town!

I am on the river just out of town, can see two mountain ranges...and it's quiet!

So hopefully things slow down to 'normal' for me soon!

I inked up the Diva Hopper cause she makes me happy. She's on a mission!

This a book binding card. I glued my twine into the fold for the spine!  Stencil is one of Faber-Castell a set of 10. It's OLD! Hopper is cut out with Spellbinders Labels Four. Image is colored with Ohuhu markers. Flowers/ leaves are Scrapbook & Cards, and Spellbinders. Twine, gems and charm from my stash, and that little purse opens!

It took me longer to make this card than it should have! I had the image, I was trying to find the right paper! I have become very proficient at folding for this Double Pleat card! 

 

 

I used a HM cling stamp. Colored with Ohuhu markers. DP is Doodlebug, image cut with Spellbinders; flowers and leaves are a mix of Spellbinders, Brutus Monroe, Scrapbook/Cards and Honey Bee.

We went right into summer last week sometime, today it's Fall!

Of course it's our Blossom Festival this weekend, so rain is forcast! I usually go to the parade, and that's it! It's a great time! They even have a midway with rides this year!

Made me smile on my way to town yesterday. I drove past where they were setting the rides up! Looks fun; I don't have kids to take anymore! I think this is instead of fireworks! We're already so dry. A lot of BC and Alberta are on fire!

 My card today uses the HM image 'For Me'.

Stamped and colored with Ohuhu markers, and a sparkle gel pen. Cut out with a Spellbinders die, a rub on sentiment-cut with another Spellbinders die. I found the yellow paper behind the image in my stash. It's by Sandylion (thought they just made stickers?) and is called Corduroy; dated 2006! I am using vintage scrap/ card making paper!!

In other news, this is for Karen. About the movie Civil War. It left a LOT of questions unanswered. My brother liked it, cause it was a shoot 'em up, blow 'em up movie. But, even he said why?

It got 1/2 a Rotten Tomato from me because Kirsten Dunst was in it, and I haven't seen her forever!

In other news.....

I have watched Where The Crawdads Sing and Marry Me. I liked them both! Those were on Netflix. Emma and I have a date for the Fall Guy when it comes to the theatre.

I have weeded like a crazy person! The thistle and dandelions are my fave! My brother's been mowing the lawn. We'll see if my mom will do it now he's gone, or if I have to! I am arranging to get a guy to come once a week while I am gone!

Today started cold, windy and raining here! I see the sun is out now; we had a special weather statement for the mountain pass just west of here. The S word!!

I have been going the Scrabble at the Library. I found out last week, that once a month we go to Julios Lounge at the Bowling Alley for a drink to celebrate that months birthdays. We also have a draw once a month (every time you show up and pay to play, your name goes in a hat) for a bottle of wine. Guess who won!? These are my people!

I picked a bouquet today of whatever was blooming! They're not happy. It was below 0 last night, and will be again tonight, so pretty sure everything that's blooming will be dead :(

Hopefully it starts getting warmer! Grass was mowed for the second time already. Grass and weeds still grow!

The lady in charge of us at the Tuck Shop where I volunteer is having a get together at her house on Sunday. Should be nice.

Larry and I are planning on going to the movie Civil War in the next week, and I'm going to see if he wants to go to the cow release tomorrow at the dairy down the road! Cows are kept in the barn all winter, then released in the Spring! It's a big deal, and lots of fun, with Vendors from the Farmers Market, Food Trucks! I went last year!

March came in yesterday like a LION! Blizzarding, hurricane force winds. Then I went to town. Warm,  melting, water running! It's about 12 kms!

I am so ready for nicer weather!

Took about half a dozen Valentine cards to the Tuck Shop. I have a kit of them half finished on my desk, and I'm making Bryson a card, as he won the Grade 2 You ROCK (Recognition of Character & Kindness) at school for January. Maybe December.
