Every day is a new day

 Hello everyone!
Thought I'd better update you with things!
Not a lot of crafting for me lately!
I worked from home for 2 weeks after my surgery June 9th.
Then I went in 3 days a week.
And I liked it!
Then this happened!

4 weeks post op on July 10th, I fell down in the yard.
Broke my knee cap, tibia right under the replacement, and broke my left ankle!
Did NO damage to the knee replacement, but it is compromised, as the splint stays on from 6 weeks to 3 months.
I will have to work 4 times as hard when it all comes off.
The boot is 6 weeks!
I have a wheelchair, so the right leg is stuck straight out in front of me, and a walker, as I'm allowed to put weight on the left leg to hop!
I got my stitches out last week, and go for x-rays this week.
It's not any fun taking me anywhere with my leg stuck out!!
I've been home for 2 weeks, and just this week started working from home again!
I have no pain, I get muscle spasms that are fun.
It's been really hot here, fires all over, so it's smokey, but we are supposed to get rain!
I hired a handy man to finish the little front entry, as me falling pushed Kalen over the edge, and he wants to list our little farm!
He will wait until I am walking/driving.
So we will get done what we have the supplies for, and move on.
There is a lot to do, and now I can't even help!
On a happier note, this little family is on the way here, minus Abby in the backseat, she's being dropped off at her mom's!

So, I will get better, it will just be a long haul!
I do have to make my mom a birthday card.
I do get around slowly & carefully with my walker & hopping, so will put something together for her!
Hope you're all well & enjoying summer!!

Talk to ya later!

Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase.

 It's 'kinda' spring here!

We have sooo many projects on the go!

I am on project #2 for me. Project #1 is clearing up all the dead branches in the back 40. I am bringing them to the front, so if when the trees come down in the front yard, they can all be chipped up for use other places! I pull out all I can, but when they're still froze down, I move on. Project #2 is trimming the cherry trees. I am on tree #2 but can't go up & down the ladder anymore today, so came in to try & finish my Easter cards.

Kalen is on project # 29 out of; I am not sure how many he has on the go. He did finish one yesterday. His greenhouse is up, needs a few tweaks, and now he's marking where the posts go for the guy that's going to push them in. Oh yes, he has one section of trellis up for the secret garden!

I made 2 get well cards. One for my friend Helen who had back surgery.

One for Kalen who stepped on a nail Monday, and drive himself to the hospital for a tetanus shot!

It looks pink in the pic, but is really red!!

Moms St. Patrick's Day card.

I am not sure why it's so tiny!

In other news, we've started some plants. They are happy in the little inside greenhouse, with grow lights(we have to wear Men in Black sunglasses for), and heat mats! They're for the secret garden.

I haven't face timed Bryson lately, but his mom sends me pictures!

Did you know they have karaoke in pre school!?

Oh what fun!!

And he's learned how to wink!

He stands on that stool for his picture, so I think he's getting so tall!

That's all I got! Work is busy.

Mom got her first vaccine!

Kalen might be getting one now, as at their job they're considered essential workers.

He said he didn't know how he felt about that. His co worker, and I am in agreement, said, when they call your name, go.

We will all have a turn, and if Canada gets their poop in a group, it should be sooner rather than later!

So for now, keep on keeping on!

Wash your hands & wear your mask!

Talk to ya later!

Stay safe!

To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist.~Oscar Wilde

 Hello dear peeps!

Sure hope you're doing ok.

Vaccines are rolling out.

Mom, who's over 80 can call March 22 to get put on a list.

I made some cards for an order.

I'll show you those so you can get on with your day! I made 6 so she could have a selection, and she took them all! I still will make a birthday card for a 1 year old after Easter.

I also received an order for 2 grad cards.

Can't quit my 'real' job, but it's a nice change!

I made 2 of the middle one.

Of course there's no picture! It's a feminine one though, with flowers and stuff!

Bryson called me one night to tell me he was sitting outside in the car.

Cause the firetruck was at his house!

He told me the smoke detector kept going off. It was in fact the carbon monoxide detector.

Smoke detector is easier to say!

Vanessa had texted me to tell me that, I told her to call 911, and go outside. It's a free service the firemen do, and they'd rather show up for a false alarm. Turns out their detector had expired (who knew)!

So all was well!

This is what Bryson and I do when we Facetime!

I change into whatever pops up, and he takes pictures.

He said his mom needed them to send to people!

Hahaha! I would hope not!

He also thinks he looks blurry, so I took a picture:

Kalen dug another hole to replace a hydrant in the yard. It's been one a year. We have 4. I am just the assistant, and I run for stuff.

I don't really run. I was put on a list in Cranbrook last year for a new knee. The wait was 2 years. They called last month, and the wait is ......2 years.

I got referred to Kelowna, I have already got an email from the optimization team at the hospital, and had a call from the surgeon. The wait is 6 months.

I have a friend who is ready for an all expenses paid adventure!

When we discussed it, she said, 'I can't wait for your surgery'!

She's kind of in my bubble. She's a nanny for a doctor, and neither one of us go far!

It is starting to pick up at work, now people aren't so afraid of travel. We just had an awesome compliment at the hotel.

It said, the cleanliness is essential. Please don't lower your standards when Covid is over.

I broke a tooth about a month ago. My dentist had to pull it, as it split right down the middle. I will be getting a bridge at the end of April. Saving my pennies for that!

Also called the hot tub guy. I'm going to try to get to Cranbrook in the next couple weeks to check them out, and sit in it!! I still need someone to build my deck.

The trees in the front yard aren't down yet, but they'll just have to be careful! I have waited long enough!!

One of my friends got hacked and was messaging me through Instagram. I messaged the real her to tell her. She had just got out of the hospital from back surgery. I am going to make her a card. I also have 1 St. Patrick's Day card to make, and my Easter cards!

The daffodils are up right next to the house.

The garlic in the garden is up, the strawberries are coming! I am so ready for Spring!

Hope you're all staying safe!

Talk to ya later!

Wash your hands & wear your mask!!

Life is too short to spend even one day in misery. ~Ravi Melwani

Not sure if you will be able to read this.....where did the buttons for the font and size go?

Nevermind, I was on a crazy view!

This will be picture heavy.

Christmas cards are still being made! Just until my desk is organized, then I'm dun!

Moms card:

It's a double Z fold, and I'd give someone credit; I found it on Pinterest.

Brysons card:

It's a shaker card. I used double sided tape from the $$ store.

Do. Not. Do. That!

I then had to use my glue like silicone, as it was leaking out all over!

It should be good; I'm sure I'll hear about it if it's still leaking when it gets to him!

Vanessa & Harleys card:

Kalens card:

I then had a card making marathon.

I let Kalen pick cards to send.

A friend had seen them & wanted to buy some, I needed to have a selection! I also got advice from a friend that sells her cards.

The following were added to the stash for Kalens friend to pick from.

Inside gold joy card

Outside & in of Happy Holidays.

Had to step up the insides!

This one is real sparkly!

 There you have it.

That's probably not all, but that's all you're getting right now!

I have also made treats for my co workers.

Of course there's no picture.

The kids gave me my Christmas present early.

It's a thin desk with 16 cubes on top. Each cube can hold 10 lbs.

Kalen is trying to help out in the crafting department.

I am a visual person, and unfortunately need to SEE all my stuff. Which means most of it is on display somewhere in the room, which means it looks like a disaster, and unorganized, but I know where everything is! The cubes cleaned a large portion of my desk off! I think I'll like them.

I sent Vanessa this picture when she asked if my tree was up.

I finally found some house numbers. I looked all spring and summer.

You know-Covid.

I had them in my cart several times from different hardware stores; however, as soon as I hit the 'ship to me' button, they'd be out of stock.

I needed adhesive, put in a Michaels order.

6inch numbers. $4.99 a piece.

Cheapest ever!

Painted them black, and hung them up. The yellow gobs at the bottom are Kalens foam attempt to keep mice out of the garage. It needs trimmed off. Haha

I just filled the mouse bait station, and we're good!

Here's my favorite little person.

He asked his mom if the sky was on fire.

I miss Alberta sunsets!

I miss him too. I'll just be grateful for the time we spent together in August! His dad's done school, so we don't facetime every night!

I better go, I am making a few more Christmas cards for the stash, just to clean my desk off, then it will be on to something else!

I am devastated.

My mom just called & told me Charley Pride died from Covid.

I had seen him twice in concert. He was my dads favorite singer.

We have become mask wearing, hand washing fools!

Stay safe everyone!

Wash your hands!

Talk to ya later!

“People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.” ― Abraham Lincoln

Hello!
Hope you're all well!
It's been gloomy & rainy here, not our usual June, and things are a little behind.
Cherries probably have another couple weeks; last year we were eating & picking them on July 1st. My cucumbers are just coming up in the garden. I think they need the heat!
Rally muggy today, but accomplished a lot!

This is the latest card  sent Mr. B!

When making it my label maker ran out of ink!

I showed Kalen & he said to save it for a 'cow' card!

This was his reaction!

I told his mother that they should all be that excited and appreciative when I send a card......I added, or do I have to send you tattoos too!?

I'd better get busy making him another one!

Because he knows that we see the same moon, I'm always taking pictures for him

This one was about 4am, and has the petunia tree in it!
It is growing by leaps & bounds!

My little masked friend has been checking things out in the yard about that time too!

Last night the weather was good, so we had the back neighbors over for a firepit & drinks(and snacks)!

Moscow Mule!

There was apricot liqueur, and apple cider on the menu too!

It was a lovely evening!

I think the yard work is caught up for a minute!
Kalen & I did some inside stuff; put my stair railings up for the basement. They've been down since the washer & dryer got moved downstairs. We hung some curtains.
Watered everything in sight. I think they appreciate it more when it's cloudy rather than scorching hot!

The back 40 needs mowed, but that can wait a minute!
If we keep it up, we don't spend as much on gas as when we first decided to mow it!
Was really slow going and took about 3 days!
Was so overgrown & weedy!
There's only one corner left; also the portion that Kalen threw all the branches from pruning, there's a dirt pile, and manure pile!
It will all get cleaned up.

Next weekend, I plan on painting my little front porch on the inside.  I have had the paint, it just hasn't made the list!
It's on the list now! I'll have to pick out a simple light fixture too. It's a bare bulb, and I'm not fond of them!

Better go!
Wash your hands & stay safe!

Give it your all. Whatever work you do, do it to the best of your ability. Jerry Dorsman and Bob Davis

Good day!
How are you?

I'll show you the card I made, then you can get on with your day!

This is for the son in law, whose birthday is next week!

He likes fishing, so did my best with some new dies.
The sentiment inside says, 'Nothing says Happy Birthday like a piece of paper folded in half.'
He texted me last week and said, that's an awesome piece of paper!

Bryson & his mom got creative & sent me a picture one day!

It was so cute!

I have baked pretzels.

They turned out amazing! Apparently I need to watch the pretzel shaping video again!

I've made decorative focaccia bread!

The bird bath is up and being used.

And when there's not a bird in it, the deer are drinking out of it!

The hummingbirds are still drinking out of the feeders!

I have made 2 Rhubarb liqueurs.

I wanted the Amaretto, Kalen wanted the orange & ginger.

Here's the petunia tree.

The pots that came were the wrong size, so Kalen reordered.
They were not available!
so I shopped in the shed & found some that fit.
They are 1/2 full of Styrofoam!

The color isn't great, but I will take a picture a week!
I have a few imposters in the pots!
They didn't know they were supposed to be pink or purple!

That's a red one in the top pot, and I guess technically the second one is pink!

It's been raining today, so did some laundry, made nuts & bolts.
Made a sour cream rhubarb pie, I'll take it to moms' for coffee when it cools a bit!

The sun is shining, so if it keeps up, the grass will have to be mowed!

The back 40 is getting a makeover,  gardens need weeded!
The list never ends!

Hope you are all well!
Talk to ya later!
Wash your hands & stay safe!
