Life is too short to spend even one day in misery. ~Ravi Melwani

Not sure if you will be able to read this.....where did the buttons for the font and size go?

Nevermind, I was on a crazy view!

This will be picture heavy.

Christmas cards are still being made! Just until my desk is organized, then I'm dun!

Moms card:

It's a double Z fold, and I'd give someone credit; I found it on Pinterest.

Brysons card:

It's a shaker card. I used double sided tape from the $$ store.

Do. Not. Do. That!

I then had to use my glue like silicone, as it was leaking out all over!

It should be good; I'm sure I'll hear about it if it's still leaking when it gets to him!

Vanessa & Harleys card:

Kalens card:

I then had a card making marathon.

I let Kalen pick cards to send.

A friend had seen them & wanted to buy some, I needed to have a selection! I also got advice from a friend that sells her cards.

The following were added to the stash for Kalens friend to pick from.

Inside gold joy card

Outside & in of Happy Holidays.

Had to step up the insides!

This one is real sparkly!

 There you have it.

That's probably not all, but that's all you're getting right now!

I have also made treats for my co workers.

Of course there's no picture.

The kids gave me my Christmas present early.

It's a thin desk with 16 cubes on top. Each cube can hold 10 lbs.

Kalen is trying to help out in the crafting department.

I am a visual person, and unfortunately need to SEE all my stuff. Which means most of it is on display somewhere in the room, which means it looks like a disaster, and unorganized, but I know where everything is! The cubes cleaned a large portion of my desk off! I think I'll like them.

I sent Vanessa this picture when she asked if my tree was up.

I finally found some house numbers. I looked all spring and summer.

You know-Covid.

I had them in my cart several times from different hardware stores; however, as soon as I hit the 'ship to me' button, they'd be out of stock.

I needed adhesive, put in a Michaels order.

6inch numbers. $4.99 a piece.

Cheapest ever!

Painted them black, and hung them up. The yellow gobs at the bottom are Kalens foam attempt to keep mice out of the garage. It needs trimmed off. Haha

I just filled the mouse bait station, and we're good!

Here's my favorite little person.

He asked his mom if the sky was on fire.

I miss Alberta sunsets!

I miss him too. I'll just be grateful for the time we spent together in August! His dad's done school, so we don't facetime every night!

I better go, I am making a few more Christmas cards for the stash, just to clean my desk off, then it will be on to something else!

I am devastated.

My mom just called & told me Charley Pride died from Covid.

I had seen him twice in concert. He was my dads favorite singer.

We have become mask wearing, hand washing fools!

Stay safe everyone!

Wash your hands!

Talk to ya later!

This will be Quick.......

Famous last words!
I'm leaving tomorrow to visit my boy, so wanted to let you know!
I worked all weekend on the baby gift for one of my bosses.......
don't worry, pretty sure he doesn't know about the blog!

Vanessa was here for a couple sleepovers and was impressed.
I said, "If I see a picture of that on Facebook before I get it to that baby; you might get a licken!"

Sorry about the pic on the messy desk (can you tell I'm working on a House Mouse!?)
It turned out better than the one on the table.
The next one's a little dark, but the rest all had a glare!
I used DP, quilling, buttons, stickers, foam, bling, you name it, it's on there!
And those mittens....I didn't know what to do with the string,
so there it hangs!

Just have to fill the boxes now!

Here's a chipmunk in a tree, being really still & quiet so I don't see him!

Sunset, and I'll have you know all the snow I whined about, melted!
I. KNOW! WTH!
It was tropical for a couple days early this week!

My suitcase for the trip!
Pretty sure Kalen hasn't been reading the blog either!

Vanessa & I weighed it Tuesday night;
it weighed 36.4 lbs. and that's without my clothes in there!
It's stuff he bid on;
and I paid for from the Silent Auction at the Family Rebellion in August.
I'm taking him 3 containers of honey, cause they gave me a case at work.
His sister gave me his Christmas present to leave there.
I might or might not have his Christmas gift in there too!
The bear is one he was bidding on at the Silent Auction;
my aunt won it with her bid, then told me to take it to him, cause she had so much fun!

So I'm off, I'll be back next week!
Hope all you peeps on the East Coast are staying warm & safe.

Stay out of trouble!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

“I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be.” -Douglas Adams

Where to start!?

Friday night I cut a bunch of willows down on the south side of the dugout.
Of course I burnt them...in the fire pit......and drank beer!

Saturday, Ray had to go help our friends.
It was the LAST ROUNDUP!
Grimm was getting rid of all his buffalo!
He helped up a couple years ago......The last post should be here.
I should've went.....I make a good gate girl, or stock trailer door shutter!
He had to be there by 8:00am.
By 8:00, I was hanging out the first load of clothes!
I tell ya I was a make work project!
I took the clothespins out.
Noticed Shadows water dish was full of dead grasshoppers, so cleaned that out & got her fresh water.
Then I noticed the birdbath, was scummy, so scrubbed that out, and refilled it!
I picked the rest of the peas, and pulled out the dying plants!
Also dug a couple non-hills of potatoes for supper!
I did another horse shoe pit!
They take 2 huge wheelbarrel loads of sand!
I trimmed the cottoneasters in front of the little deck, front & back, and gave a couple of the mountain ash a hair cut!
Walked 4 babies back over to the cat house.....they must have spent the night on the deck!
By 3:00pm I. WAS. DUN!
Came in and showered, started supper, then the guy who was gonna pump the sewer out showed up!
That was a learning experience!
Thank God that's done.

Supper was awesome with fresh peas & potatoes, and I made meatballs with gravy!

Kalen's been having trouble with his renters not paying, so I was the CEO (his words) in charge of serving the papers for the Landlord & Tennant somethingsomethingsomething hearing Monday, and giving them an eviction notice. Done and Done!
Unfortunately the tenant didn't take the call, so was ruled against.
AGAIN, unfortunately, who enforces this stuff?
I fired off an e-mail to my friend that works at the RCMP detachment.
He's supposed to go training this Friday for a sail, and thinks he has to refuse, cause this needs to be settled....he's stationed in Victoria.
They're effing with my baby's career, and this MOTHER is getting cranky!

Sunday; I finished the stove door, cleaned it out, gave it a bath, and put my birdhouses I made on a rake & pitchfork!
I'll take pictures when I have them where they're gonna live!

I did finish 2 cards over the weekend!
Got Kalens card made, Vanessa called while I was making it.
V: "What are you doing?"
Me: "I'm in my room making Kalen a card?"
V: "For what? You're making him a card for no reason?!"
Me: "It's a 'thinking of you card', want me to make you cards for no reason?"
V: "No, it's ok."

I made her one too! I think her nose might have been a little out of joint!

Here's hers:

And here's Kalen's.

I did promise him, with a note that the next card wouldn't be blue, have a ship or water on it!
Oh yeah, got the inspiration here!
And I LIED, it's NOT an easel card!

Alrighty, the kid's called me twice already tonight!
He's sooooo stressed!
I told him to have a cup of tea, and a bubble bath.....that would cure him.

Have a few pictures for you.

I have to cross a train tracks, coming & going from work.

It had a lot of cars full of lumber!

No caboose........sorry!

This was last nights sunset.

And this is the shack they put right outside my north window at work!

I climbed in there to have a look before I came home.
It's kinda neat.
There are 2 suites in it, one at each end.
An entry, with a washer & dryer, and the water tank is in the middle.
Guess we got some guys who'll live there in the winter.
D told me I don't look out that window anyway!
hahahaha, he's right, my desk is U shaped and my back is to that window!

Better go....gotta read up on the legal e-mails Kalen sent me......to make sure we're really doing the eviction thing by the book.
With the ruling today, I have to file it at The Court Of Queens Bench, and the nearest one is Peace River.
Guess I'll be spending one morning this week at the Court House!

Hope you're all well!
Ta ta for now!

Your work is to discover your work and then, with all your heart, to give yourself to it.- Buddha

Oh yoi I'm tired, but it's a good tired!

These pictures are from sunset Wednesday night....sometime after 10:00pm

The other day at work this pheasant streaked by my window!?
Did I mention the guy next door has birds & stuff!?
Not for long if they keep escaping!

The chicken's still at work hanging out with the dog!

I spent this morning cleaning the cat house garden shed.
I brought home these little fellers from work yesterday!

There's really 6 of them, and I think they're too little, but the guys in the shop were getting a little testy, after the cats went for a road trip in one of the big trucks for a few days; and they're into everything!
I had made them porridge, and dumped whipping cream on it!
I got more for tomorrow!
Oh yeah, there's a mouse in the garden shed cat house.
I found that ironic!

Here's the cat baby sitter waiting for those kittens to figure out the cat door, bottom left, hidden by the tree!
Jeez, I gotta get that grass mowed!

I think I should start a mushroom farm; it's been so wet!

This poppy was growing by the water tank!
I don't have poppies!?

I was at the tank to fill up the sprayer to kill the weeds in the dugout!
Yup, camera in pocket!
Didn't get a boot full of water this time though!
I bet the water's warmer though!

Did the laundry.
Threw supper in the oven, set the timer, and Ray & I went to an old farmhouse to get the doors we wanted.
Yes; unlike a lot of people; we know the owners, and were allowed!

On the way, we saw these cranes!
There were 6 and I think they were mom, pop & kids!

Here are the doors!
We got 5 different sized solid wood doors!
Heavier than heck, trust me!

We have to take a wagon for the other treasures I'm getting!
Different farm, same owners!
They're big farmers; gonna strike a match to all the old buildings; clear it out & farm straight across!

I'm getting five (5)....oh I can't tell you, you'll laugh!

On the way home we saw these cranes!
I don't know if they were a different family or what!

I DID make a card or 2 this week!
This was definately out of my comfort zone, but turned out great!
It's for a wonderful, fun lady!
Her kids are throwing a big bash for her, I know she'll love it!
It's larger than usual too.
It's about 5 X 7.
Needed it that big for the Cricut letters....so they didn't tear!

I've had that owl paper for a while and didn't know what to do with it!

I finally got the pile of bottles sorted today.
The store in town gave me the wrong filter for the van; so Ray took a batch in for me.
My going to Michaels Money is adding up!

I'm reading Water For Elephants...and loving it!
The kids aren't around, but I have to read the book before I get to see the movie!

I'd better go, got a busy day tomorrow too...hopefully the line in the dugout gets raised, the door on the outdoor furnace gets a new seal, and the sewer pump gets fixed!
I'll be doing the seal on the furnace door!
And I'd better mow that grass over by the garden shed, & trees!
Gawd, I'm tired just thinking about it!

Have a great Sunday!

Ta ta for now!

Have a wonderful day with many *SMILES*

Happy Independence Day my peeps to the south!

Well, the yardwork is DUN!
For a minute!
After 2 & 1/2 days of cleaning the camper, mowing, whipper snipping, planting, transplanting, building a new home for the rhubarb, cleaning up wood all over the back 40......yesterday at 2:00 pm, I told Ray I'd had enough fun in the sun, and I was going in!
It's been so windy, we haven't been able to burn any of stuff we cleaned up!
Maybe this Friday night!
I also watched the back end of a snake disappear, while mowing around the dugout! YIKES!

Listening to the radio one day the announcer said, "You know, some people can get a days worth of work in before 9:00 am."
I'm thinking Ummmm hmmmmmm!
The announcer then said, "Well whoopty freaking doo for you."
I was giggling, so didn't hear the 'rest of the story'!
Guess I shouldn't get up so early then! Oh well!

Back at work today, and it's a welcome rest...I don't have to do anything physical....just gotta THINK!

Got a few pictures for you.

This was the sunset on Canada Day!

This is the card I'm going to get in the mail tomorrow for Kalen!
See the knot!?
Guess it would show up better if it were rope!
It's a Carrick Bend!

Here's the inside!

Then my friend Sheree over here at Vancouver Island Craft Junkie asked for some help, so this is the card I made for her friend.
It will go in the mail tomorrow too!

There you have it!
What I've been working on, it's supposed to rain this week,
so maybe I'll get my cards started for the July challenge.

Better go, I'm waiting for a friend from the city to come for coffee.
Actually it's the friend I went to visit in Arizona last year!
She bought a house there!

Anyhoo, I'll talk to ya later!

Ta ta for now!
