If you want a quality, act as if you already had it. Try the “as if technique”.- William James

Hello peeps!
Been a long time.....oh I've been playing along with some challenges, as you'll know from previous posts!
Life's just been busy, and today I could've melted!

I've been to the Canadian Steel Guitar show!

Here's a picture of my cousin Jeff Bradshaw.

He's a BIG deal in that business!
It was a wonderful evening of entertainment!

I went to my aunts 'everything must go' garage sale!
I got punches, stamps, paper, glitter, embossing powder, embellishments....well 2 boxes of crafty goodness, and the largest Xyron (still in the box with an extra cartridge) for $20!!!!!!!

I've been to dinner with the gf's, and more gf's.
I've been to Mirror Mirror, and Pirates Band of Misfits!

I've had fire pit fires, and gf's and drinks!

I volunteered at a Canada Day BBQ for Friends of the Manning Library.
I have to make a thank you card for the manager for asking us!

I watched the Calgary Stampede parade, cause my baby was in it!
The ship he's usually stationed to is the HMCS Calgary!
And that link will take you nowhere, cause the sites being translated!!!!
He's the one in white...not sure why he's out of line!
hahahahaha, and sorry the pic is so big, but I stole it off the web, so work with me here!
His caption said, "Marching with the troops."

We have no shortage of wildlife happening around here!

This deer is down the driveway one day on my way to work.
He's getting horns!

These cranes were taking a walk in a field down the road.

This lone swan has been in this pond for quite a while now.

We have 'Charlotte' in the woodshed!

And tree hugger kittens....again.
Their mom's disappeared, so yeah, I'm feeding them!

My SU demonstrator is having a stamp garage sale on Wednesday, so I'll be there!
Also a wine & cheese thingy before.... I'll definately be there!

This next picture is taken one night at 10:40 pm.
I couldn't get the date & time to work on my camera, so you'll have to take my word for it!

Hope you're all well!

Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

If you are lucky enough to have done well, then it is your responsibility to send the elevator back down.-Kevin Spacey

Alrighty!
Life's sure got in the way this past week!
I went to GP on Friday, and when I got to Vanessa's, I said, "You have a plant!"
She said, "It's for you."
Isn't it great!

Vanessa cooked supper!
We had a wonderful lasagne......

Followed by awesome apple pie!

I did buy her a trivet before I left on Saturday!
We watched movies with her friends!
We watched RIO, and Something Borrowed.

I've found out that Vanessa is a lurker...Hi Honey!
Just so ya know, the next 2 pictures, are spiders!
She has a phobia!

I made a card last week before I left.

Then I bought a few treasures, & changed it up!

Much better I think!
It was inspired by Curt's card; here. Which in turn inspired this card, I tell ya, it's a vicious circle!
But it's all good!

Saw a deer on the way to work one day.

I knocked down another tree....no troubles this time!
Had to drop it before Ray turned it into a production!
I'm going to see how long it takes for him to notice it's gone!
It was a leaner, and I said, "Why don't you knock that tree down, before it's big enough to fall on the house when it blows down?"
Ray, "It'll hit the gardens."
Well......it didn't!

There's the gardens on the left, and I dropped the tree on the right! About 30 feet away I say!

Here's the after I cleaned it up picture.

You can just see the stump in the middle of the picture!

Here's my audience while I put the cut up tree in the woodshed!

Such a big help!

I'll tackle the other trees on the weekend.
It's supposed to be really nice out starting tomorrow!

Here's the tomato crop!

There's only about 1/2 of what we usually get! Good thing I have salsa left from last year!

Here's the other 2 babies that are hanging out!
I haven't seen their mom for quite a while!

One orange one, and one grey one!

I got Shadow a heated dog bed....not what I thought; it was pretty expensive, and I think I'll have to crawl in the dog house & sit on it when it's 40 below to see if it works!
I also put a door on her house, and so far she's left it up!

I really hate intensly dislike September!
All my meetings start up, I've had one every week for the last 3, and have 2 next week.
One is stamp club, so that'll be fun!

The O/S is on a cruise right now.
He asked when I wanted to come visit, and then asked if we could meet at G-ma's!
Someone misses his grandma!
So instead of going to beautiful Victoria, B.C., I might be making another trip to my mommy's!
I told him to think about the weather, cause I'd be driving, so he said he'd call with a plan this weekend!

Better go, hope you're all having a great week!

Ta ta for now!

Life's most urgent question is: what are you doing for others?-Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hellooooo peeps!
I'm becoming a slackard!
Not really, but you think I'd have more time to talk to ya!
It's August, we're not going to have rainy weather summer for too much longer!

I've been starving the kittens! Not intentionally!
Who knew they ate so much!
Remember I said I thought they were too little to leave their mom!?
Well, I'd been feeding them a little porridge with whipping cream or canned milk on it!
Every time I went over to the cat house garden shed, the dish would be empty, and they'd be crying!
I glanced at the dry cat food, which is what we feed the big cats, and it's just crumbs!
The little dumplings can't chew it up properly!
Now they get a pie plate full of canned cat food, porridge, and canned milk, and we're all happier!
Jeez, the things I do!?

I have tree hugger kittens! hahahaha

Kitty toys....I know there's only 4, they're gonna have to share!

I'm going to Grande Prairie tomorrow!
Gonna limp take the van to Fairview!
Different dealer.
I've got a rock stuck somewhere it shouldn't be, and I have a horrible shimmy on the highway!
I spent 20 minutes Wednesday night at the car wash, but I think the van needs to be lifted up.
Some of that crap dries like cement!

Sunday and Monday I'm working volunteering at the Casino for Minor Hockey!
I.KNOW!
It's the same with every organization.
Everyone wants to do these fundraisers, but no one wants to help!
These are the same MOTHERS that would bitch if their kids registration fee went up!
Fundraisers like this keep the costs down for kids, and pay for a few extras....usually!
I LOVE working the casino!
If I lived in a city I'd so be working there, as a cage supervisor, or count room supervisor!
I guess I'm a people watcher like my dad was!

The outdoor furnace has a new seal!
Hopefully I did it right!

I used 2 thingys of the gasket cement! It said to stick the newspaper in the door before you shut it so it dries.
I'm thinking whatever sticks, burns off!

The lines have been raised in the dugout!

There's Ray studying the situation!

I've been whippersnipping and mowing haying!
Especially by the dugout!
And it's gonna be bad by the camper too!

It was really thundering out a while ago.
I think whatever was going on, missed us!

A few cards.

I got this paper pack, and decided to make them all the same recipe!
I got the idea Here!

There are 5 different colors, with about 6 different patterns, so I have the orange & pink to go.
I'll end up with an assortment (sort of)!
I figure I'll stamp the inside as the occasion arises, cause some could be used for a couple things!
I also found another wedding card I want to try, but I think I'm out of white vellum!OMG!

Got my hair done today....yeah it needed it!
Medical, and drivers license, I'm good for another 2 years I guess!

Gotta go, have a great weekend!
Talk to ya later!

Ta ta for now!

The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.-Corrie Ten Boom

I was surprised today with a call from my friend Curt!
Too cool!
Of course he was helped out by my sly friend Myrna!
And just so ya know Myrna.........I packed the darn phone out of the house with me after your last comment!
And no Myrna, the doors are NOT for the outhouse; just for that you WILL have to wait until we pick up my next treasures. And Ray & the farmers place we're getting them from, can laugh all they want; cause I just KNOW when I bring them home and set them up for what I want them for.....everyone's gonna want one!

I had debated whether or not to flop on the couch for 10 minutes, but instead put a Rhubarb Bundt Cake in the oven!
Here's the recipe!
It's the second most requested rhubarb recipe....right after the Rhubarb Crisp!
And Id'a put the link there if I could find it! Found it!

Rhubarb Bundt
1/2 Cup Margarine
1 Cup White Sugar
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Egg
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Cup Milk
2 Cups Finely chopped Rhubarb
1 Tsp. Almond Extract
Topping
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tsp. Cinnamon

Grease Pan.
Sprinkle 1/3 topping in pan.
Put in half the batter.
Put another 1/3 of the topping on.
Remaining batter.
Remaining topping.
Bake for 40-50 minutes on 350F.

YUMMMMMMMMM!

It's after 6 pm, and Ray still hasn't came back with the boat!
He's gotta raise the water lines in the dugout!

I couldn't put the new seal on the stove....gotta buy more!
I guess they're made for fireplaces, and the stove has a BIG door!
I did clean out all the old gunk & stuff!

I weeded the tomatoes, and gave them a haircut!
The rhubarb in it's new home got weeded!
I cleaned a bathroom, did a load of laundry, baked the cake, and hung out with the kittens.
I mowed over by the cat house & fruit trees.....even though it was wet. I'd have left the bag off, but it's a rear bagger, and, well, it wouldn't have been any fun!
Shadow got some more matts & hair cut off her back end, and more flea powder.
Better see if it's time for us to have another treatment with the oil!

Here's the butterfly I was trying to get a good picture of when I answered the phone outside!

I told you Shadow was such a 'MOTHER'!
This cat must have needed a bath!

Yup, Shadow licked this little feller!

Or maybe she was 'tasting' her! hahahaha JK!

Ray came home for a rifle....talk about shooting stuff!
Came & got the 270, whatever that is!
His sister has a bear!
It's ate her Saskatoons, and has been in her garden!
She lives by the highway, so hope Ray doesn't miss!
I'm only allowed to shoot the 22. I think it's the smallest rifle we have!
Hope we don't get a bear, cause the 22 will only piss him off!
Better go, I guess if Ray's not boating tonight I can makie some cards!
Need one for a GF, towards the end of August!

This was one of my 'friends' status on Facebook.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
Love the people who treat you right.
Forgive the ones who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
...
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy.
They just promised it would be worth it.

Your work is to discover your work and then, with all your heart, to give yourself to it.- Buddha

Oh yoi I'm tired, but it's a good tired!

These pictures are from sunset Wednesday night....sometime after 10:00pm

The other day at work this pheasant streaked by my window!?
Did I mention the guy next door has birds & stuff!?
Not for long if they keep escaping!

The chicken's still at work hanging out with the dog!

I spent this morning cleaning the cat house garden shed.
I brought home these little fellers from work yesterday!

There's really 6 of them, and I think they're too little, but the guys in the shop were getting a little testy, after the cats went for a road trip in one of the big trucks for a few days; and they're into everything!
I had made them porridge, and dumped whipping cream on it!
I got more for tomorrow!
Oh yeah, there's a mouse in the garden shed cat house.
I found that ironic!

Here's the cat baby sitter waiting for those kittens to figure out the cat door, bottom left, hidden by the tree!
Jeez, I gotta get that grass mowed!

I think I should start a mushroom farm; it's been so wet!

This poppy was growing by the water tank!
I don't have poppies!?

I was at the tank to fill up the sprayer to kill the weeds in the dugout!
Yup, camera in pocket!
Didn't get a boot full of water this time though!
I bet the water's warmer though!

Did the laundry.
Threw supper in the oven, set the timer, and Ray & I went to an old farmhouse to get the doors we wanted.
Yes; unlike a lot of people; we know the owners, and were allowed!

On the way, we saw these cranes!
There were 6 and I think they were mom, pop & kids!

Here are the doors!
We got 5 different sized solid wood doors!
Heavier than heck, trust me!

We have to take a wagon for the other treasures I'm getting!
Different farm, same owners!
They're big farmers; gonna strike a match to all the old buildings; clear it out & farm straight across!

I'm getting five (5)....oh I can't tell you, you'll laugh!

On the way home we saw these cranes!
I don't know if they were a different family or what!

I DID make a card or 2 this week!
This was definately out of my comfort zone, but turned out great!
It's for a wonderful, fun lady!
Her kids are throwing a big bash for her, I know she'll love it!
It's larger than usual too.
It's about 5 X 7.
Needed it that big for the Cricut letters....so they didn't tear!

I've had that owl paper for a while and didn't know what to do with it!

I finally got the pile of bottles sorted today.
The store in town gave me the wrong filter for the van; so Ray took a batch in for me.
My going to Michaels Money is adding up!

I'm reading Water For Elephants...and loving it!
The kids aren't around, but I have to read the book before I get to see the movie!

I'd better go, got a busy day tomorrow too...hopefully the line in the dugout gets raised, the door on the outdoor furnace gets a new seal, and the sewer pump gets fixed!
I'll be doing the seal on the furnace door!
And I'd better mow that grass over by the garden shed, & trees!
Gawd, I'm tired just thinking about it!

Have a great Sunday!

Ta ta for now!
