"The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot." — Michael Altshuler

Well, here it is.....the long awaited, what I've been up to post!

There are a few cards, but mostly the goings on in my crazy life. It will be a few minutes read!

As you know, my daughter is a H U G E Backstreet Boys fan!

I took her to 2 concerts when she was younger, then she got her drivers license and I was off the hook. She has been to Las Vegas to see them, and 2 years ago bought tickets for Toronto...then Covid.

Her and her husband finally got to go to Toronto. This might be her 15th + concert or something!

Anyhoo, I got to watch Bryson while they gallivanted over to the east!

Here he is, all packed and ready for his adventure!

I picked him up in central Alberta, then we went to spend a night with a dear friend. Who wanted rhubarb. Fortunately we were at my aunts, who had a rhubarb jungle.

My Calgary friend, gave me a T O N of card making, scrapbooking supplies, so I made her a card out of some of them!

Then we had to get ready for Canada Day, as we were traveling to BC on that day.

We had our own little adventure on our travels home to BC.

I locked the keys in the van at a rest stop!

Bryson, 'Don't you have an extra set in your purse?'

I said, 'Yes I do!'

I called BCAA, which is roadside assistance. I have it because I drive an older vehicle, and have needed the odd tow or boost!

For a holiday, it was great service. We were back in the van, and on our way in an hour!

Bryson, 'I'm not telling anyone.'

Me, 'It doesn't matter, no one was hurt.'

Bryson, 'My dad told me that if I go without water for a long time, I could die.'

Vanessa texted me when they were home for a few days.

Me locking us out of the van was the topic at the supper table.

I said, 'Does he also add that he could have died?'

Vanessa, 'ABSOLUTELY!'

Bryson & I also took in the fireworks at the community centre in town on July 1st.

I made him a bed under my desk in my room.

Bryson & great gramma (my mom), feeding the birds our first morning here.

We went to a fruit stand & got cherries & strawberries.

That's one happy face! He loves fruit and most vegetables!

We then went to a gravel pit to find some rocks for painting at the family reunion.

He washed them all, then stuck his feet in for a pedicure!?

We also made a few cards while we had quiet time....great gramma was napping. This is the one he made his mom & dad.

His parents arrived here the Tuesday before the reuinion, as they flew out of Calgary. My brother & son arrived on Wednesday.
They all spent a day at the beach, and mini golf, museum etc.

On to the family reunion.
Mom told someone that there should be 300, but only the same 30 will show up. Which is crazy, cause this is a big family.

It's kinda sad, after not being able to have this during Covid. 2 people had to cancel that had got Covid. Our reunions are every 2 years, this one was 4.

I get that some maybe can't afford it, but am I terrible to say that they're every 2 years....save up? That's what I used to do back in the day when the kids were younger. We already know where the next one will be......Anyhoo.....

Group photo Friday night

A few more showed up on Saturday.

Those that attend had a good time. There weren't a lot of game players though.

Rock Painting.

My little family

Mom, my brother and his son that graduated from grade 12 this year and Vanessa

Yesterday I went early to help Kalen with his fence posts at the back of his yard.

He's probably on his way to Shambhala today!

I am checking on his cat Macaroni.

Just been weeding and watering early in the morning. It gets over 30C we don't go outside.

Monday was livable, and Friday's supposed to be under 30. Then it's back to avoiding outside. The mosquitoes are horrid too this year. It can be stifling hot, with a wind, and I still have to light a coil when I go out. Last week the hardware store was out of them, so will check when I go to town tomorrow.

That's all I got.

Talk to ya later.

Stay safe.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart.~Helen Keller

Well, don't be shocked!
Life has definitely got in the way this year.

I did get to the Amish auction sale!
Bought a chair!
 Always great craftsmanship!

We got to send time with Friends, Fishing and Fireworks!
That was Vanessa's title on Facebook.

Roadtrip!

Spent the July long weekend with these folks!
That's not everyone!
Gloomy, chilly, and fun!
The guys got to go fishing Saturday for a minute!

Went to the Family Rebellion!
Hahaha, it did this shortly after we got there!
Downpours sporadically all weekend!

 My family!

We went to a circus that was in town.
Was pretty well done, but don't forget, we're Smalltown, Nowhere!

It was my birthday last week, Bryson, and his dayhome provider, Maylene (Mayneen Bryson calls her) gave me this when I went ot pick him up!

I even made my mom a birthday card!
Her birthday is today.
Called her early as she was just on her way to church, then busy all day!
There you're all caught up!
We did get to the pancake breakfast, and our town parade which was held a day later because of rain!
rodeo was cancelled this year, first time in 68 years!
It's been delayed, but never cancelled.
We went to the pancake breakfast, and Tractor Parade up at the museum last weekend!
Sounds like we're all about the pancakes!
Next weekend we're going to the Corn Maze that's opening about an hour or so away! Then out for supper, and our monthly trip to Walmart! Haha.
Because we live in Smalltown, Nowhere, we can't afford to buy groceries at our one grocery store! It's worth it for us to drive an hour away. We save on gas what we pay for products.

Better go!
Talk to ya later!
Hope you're all well!

Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. -George Allen, Sr.

Good Day!

I've been home for a week!
Tomorrow's a holiday, Happy Canada Day my Canadian peeps!
I told them I'd be in to work if it was raining. It's not.
I want to finish the yard work I started yesterday after the rain, and get my gazebo up!

We had to change Firepit Friday to tonight, as I did Happy Hour at the Old Folks Home Friday night!
I'm cooking hamburgers, making a salad, and I made pies yesterday.
I'm running to town for some fireworks too!

This will be a ton of pictures, and not a crafty thing in sight, so I'll tell you what I've been up to and you can skip the pics!

I went to pick up my mom & we went to the Amish Auction Sale in Rexford, Montana.
Mom & I went to see Duane Steele.
We went to Crawford Bay. A friend from waaaaay back & her husband bought property there, and are setting up an RV park.
We hung out in Bonner's Ferry, and Ponderay in Idaho.
We learned how to play Pickle Ball.
Had lots of laughs, and a great time............I need a vacation from my vacation!

Some pictures from the sale.

Sheds & log cabins

Squirrell feeders

I bought one of these, when it gets settled in it's spot I'll show you

Here it is plugged in at mom's garage.

I wandered into the quilt barn and this one went for $100.00

I think we were parked in their pasture!

Turkey family playing in traffic

My nephew showing off in moms yard
Then he couldn't get down

In Creston

That's a lot of Mary Kay!

Since I've been home............
I made a Dr. Suess cake!
Not intentionally......

The happy recipient
See, I straightened it out with Cool Whip!

Inside

The weather........
On the right side of 0 degrees!

We hung out a Family Rebellion on Rays side.

The women on the left & middle are 2 of Rays sisters

Too much beer & heat, need a nap on the golf cart

Shouldn't have let him nap,
got our butts kicked at horse shoes!

It's all been fun & games!
Not sure when I'll get to make anything!
I've also been painting the firepit furniture.
I got all the chairs done, just have 2 picnic tables left!

Better go,
gotta get my work done before it gets really hot!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

THE BEST PART OF LIFE is not just surviving, but thriving--With passion and compassion And humor and style,And generosity and kindness.--Maya Angelou

I'm baaaackkkk!
Ok, I've been back since last Sunday, but life's got in the way!
I'd love to have a routine.....that would last at least 2-3 days!

On the 14th I went to have my stitches out!
I was there 2 HOURS!
2 hours people.....I only had 9 stitches!
That's how tight they were put in! I guess so I didn't come apart at the seams!

The drive down to my moms was painful!
There's really no place to put your foot up when you're driving!
I had to buy Advil at a gas station and pay boot leg prices!
Anyhoo, the foot quit swelling every time I didn't have it elevated on Sunday, August 19th.

This past Tuesday I quit wearing the 'boot' cause my foot fit in a shoe, and I could move my toes!
I went to GP to see the specialist on Thursday.
I was at the hospital for 3 hours, had lunch with Vanessa, went to Service Canada to renew my passport, and got to Fairview at 5:30pm to leave my van at the dealers!
Told them to call me when it was fixed!
I have no cruise control (again), it's a dust collector, and I have odd ticking noises when I turn left or right!
No one's called!

I've been getting to work before 7 this week, and staying until after 4!
I'm not complaining, my desk is almost cleaned off!
No one does my job while I'm away!
I think I'll go to work Monday, even though it's a holiday.....there should be no one there except the bosses and the phones should be quiet!

I've got the obligatory holiday pictures for you!
Fun was had by all!
There's nothing crafty in this post, so you can quit reading now if you like!

Kalen was there for a few days!
He went to Shambhala which was close to my mom's then caught a ride!
I put him on the bus on the 18th!
Before he left, some of us did a brewery tour!

The mountain was on fire where we held the family reunion!

Here's a picture at night, we watched it flare up!

I got new shoes......
The one on the left is my lovely boot, so I don't put pressure on my toes!
The one on the right is for walking on the treadmill, much safer than bare feet!

Some cousins and I did a tour of Nelson!
Took the ferry over to Crawford Bay!

These vehicles were a popular sight in my travels!

There is Sand Sculpting going on in Creston at the new Ramada!

I also spent a few minutes with my blog buddy Myrna!
Who has been much busier than me since I got home!

The drive home was wonderful!
I drove up through Radium Hot Springs;
it's been so long I had forgot about these

Had to take a samll detour to attend my oldest Grandsons graduation!
(I'll tell you that story one day!)
I met Vanessa there, she chaperoned the grad party!

The graduate with his escort!

Vanessa with the Graduates younger sister;
who got her dress off the 'Bargain' rack, cause she hates dresses!
It was gorgeous!

'The Graduate' & his gramma Gail!

Interesting pose, but in my defence it was probably the 30th time someone said 'smile'!
He's on his way today to start college next week! I'm so proud!

Home now, my house is a disaster, I'm going to look after some stuff in the garden today, sort the bottles, and make some rhubarb pies!
Hope you've all stayed out of trouble, and are well!

Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!
