Challenge #849 Allsorts In The Garden

 Hello!

Hope you are well!

It's my turn to host over at Allsorts, and I have chosen In The Garden. That is an open ended challenge, as whatever you can imagine in your garden will work! The possibilities are endless! There is the Anything Goes too.

I have fairies in my garden! She's from Lavinia and quite large. On my packaging she does not have a name, however, a fabulous fairy told me her name is Luna! This is a 5 X 7 Piece of Lavinia Scene-Scapes called Starbright. I have also stamped the Lavinia Bell Flower Vine up the tree on the right. Lots of stickles on her wings, the tree and a lot of the colored dots! Sentiment is SU!

Prizes this fortnight are 2 prizes of Lavinia stamps!

Go, see what the  DT and GD have found in their gardens!

I make stuff ....(cause get sad if I don't)

 Hello!

Hope you are well!

I made this for a newly found challenge. Sunbird Spark. My friend Gail in Norway told me about it a couple of months ago!

Of course I used a foil card stock, so after 284 pictures (That all looked the same) I just picked one!

Foil paper is from Michaels, the butterfly paper is SU from a card kit, and the words are AALL and Create.

Please play!

"The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot." — Michael Altshuler

Well, here it is.....the long awaited, what I've been up to post!

There are a few cards, but mostly the goings on in my crazy life. It will be a few minutes read!

As you know, my daughter is a H U G E Backstreet Boys fan!

I took her to 2 concerts when she was younger, then she got her drivers license and I was off the hook. She has been to Las Vegas to see them, and 2 years ago bought tickets for Toronto...then Covid.

Her and her husband finally got to go to Toronto. This might be her 15th + concert or something!

Anyhoo, I got to watch Bryson while they gallivanted over to the east!

Here he is, all packed and ready for his adventure!

I picked him up in central Alberta, then we went to spend a night with a dear friend. Who wanted rhubarb. Fortunately we were at my aunts, who had a rhubarb jungle.

My Calgary friend, gave me a T O N of card making, scrapbooking supplies, so I made her a card out of some of them!

Then we had to get ready for Canada Day, as we were traveling to BC on that day.

We had our own little adventure on our travels home to BC.

I locked the keys in the van at a rest stop!

Bryson, 'Don't you have an extra set in your purse?'

I said, 'Yes I do!'

I called BCAA, which is roadside assistance. I have it because I drive an older vehicle, and have needed the odd tow or boost!

For a holiday, it was great service. We were back in the van, and on our way in an hour!

Bryson, 'I'm not telling anyone.'

Me, 'It doesn't matter, no one was hurt.'

Bryson, 'My dad told me that if I go without water for a long time, I could die.'

Vanessa texted me when they were home for a few days.

Me locking us out of the van was the topic at the supper table.

I said, 'Does he also add that he could have died?'

Vanessa, 'ABSOLUTELY!'

Bryson & I also took in the fireworks at the community centre in town on July 1st.

I made him a bed under my desk in my room.

Bryson & great gramma (my mom), feeding the birds our first morning here.

We went to a fruit stand & got cherries & strawberries.

That's one happy face! He loves fruit and most vegetables!

We then went to a gravel pit to find some rocks for painting at the family reunion.

He washed them all, then stuck his feet in for a pedicure!?

We also made a few cards while we had quiet time....great gramma was napping. This is the one he made his mom & dad.

His parents arrived here the Tuesday before the reuinion, as they flew out of Calgary. My brother & son arrived on Wednesday.
They all spent a day at the beach, and mini golf, museum etc.

On to the family reunion.
Mom told someone that there should be 300, but only the same 30 will show up. Which is crazy, cause this is a big family.

It's kinda sad, after not being able to have this during Covid. 2 people had to cancel that had got Covid. Our reunions are every 2 years, this one was 4.

I get that some maybe can't afford it, but am I terrible to say that they're every 2 years....save up? That's what I used to do back in the day when the kids were younger. We already know where the next one will be......Anyhoo.....

Group photo Friday night

A few more showed up on Saturday.

Those that attend had a good time. There weren't a lot of game players though.

Rock Painting.

My little family

Mom, my brother and his son that graduated from grade 12 this year and Vanessa

Yesterday I went early to help Kalen with his fence posts at the back of his yard.

He's probably on his way to Shambhala today!

I am checking on his cat Macaroni.

Just been weeding and watering early in the morning. It gets over 30C we don't go outside.

Monday was livable, and Friday's supposed to be under 30. Then it's back to avoiding outside. The mosquitoes are horrid too this year. It can be stifling hot, with a wind, and I still have to light a coil when I go out. Last week the hardware store was out of them, so will check when I go to town tomorrow.

That's all I got.

Talk to ya later.

Stay safe.

FARGIN - verb-(from the Yiddish): To feel joy in someone else's success

 Hello!

Today was the last day(3 hours) at my job for that chapter of my life.

I'm tired. I got upset and frustrated; then they lifted most mandates in BC. They thought I would change my mind. I didn't. I have principles.

Feels funny.

I told Vanessa, I have no plan.

Don't worry, I didn't burn any bridges, even made a few Thank You cards....of course there's no pictures!

However, I did make 2 more dress cards. And yes, they turned out. I also found more patterns to try, but I think I'm done with them for a moment.

Vanessa needed one for a friends birthday.

She also needed a Thank you card.

This was part of a kit, but it works.

Outside and inside. The striped paper in the top pic is the inside of the envelope! It is not attached!

The 'Popsicle' type shapes were actually the card. I cut them apart to adhere them to card stock.

I had got one of my dearest friends some Photoplay paper & Ephemera. Crafting with my Gnomies. So she got a dress card with her little package.

I also sent her a small eraser. I bought a package of 6 at the $$ store. It says they are Glue & Residue erasers. And they work! Wait until your glue dries! The link goes to Amazon, that's the make of them...Crafters Toolkit. I think I paid a couple dollars for 6 small ones!

Anyhoo, she got the last dress card.....for this round!

I find polka dots to be so much fun!

When making the dresses, the smaller the pattern on the paper, the better!

Our family reunion, which has been canceled since 2019 is a go this year. (So far!)

Our Provincial health officer says we can 'gather.'

It will be in July. My aunt & uncle are coming in May to see what they can help with. They haven't been here for years either!

I DID get Kalen's birthday card made, and printed out a lemon bar recipe, and one for lemon cups!

He's the child that, when he was 9 asked, why do we have birthday cake? I told him he could have whatever he wanted. It has been lemon meringue pie ever since! There will probably be one of those too!

That card will be another post.....I have more Easter cards to get made too!

Stay safe, I hope you're still washing your hands!

Talk to ya later!

May you live every day of your life. --Jonathan Swift

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Well, it's about time I say!
Holy Moly there's been a lot going on.........
Most of it good!
Ah heck, it's all good!

These 2 said "I DO" on Thursday June 25, 2015 in Creston, B.C.

I wasn't there, but my mom was.
According to Vanessa, she was the Maid of Honor, Bridesmaid & Flower Girl, all rolled into one!
My mom said it was perfect.
Just how things should be done;
and when she asked what they were doing with the $20-$30 Thousand they were saving on a wedding, Vanessa replied that they were saving up for siding for the house! How practical is that!?
A BBQ social is planned for next month.....
I'm gonna be busy! hahahaha

Anyhoo, that was the BIG news.
Before I went to the Amish Auction Sale, I needed to make 2 cards.
Vanessa needed a 'really nice' Thank You card...as per my mother!

This was for the lady that performed the ceremony.

Also, I needed a birthday card for Harley, Vanessa's other half, as his birthday was the day of the sale!

And, over at this post was my mom's Mother's Day card!
She told me I've come a long way.
She figures this one was made when I was 10 or 11.

She keeps stuff like that!
Hahahaha!

Vanessa & Harley left the day I got back from the auction; June 20.
So all last week I painted like a crazy women at their place!
I tell people I do what I want over there, but really,
the paint is bought, or it's what they want done!
I painted the stairs & landing in their entry to freshen it up.
The shutters I was making the screen out of got done, and put together!
Here's the mess it was made to hide.

And here's where it's living!

I have also worked, worked the casino, attended a Birthday Party for a 1 year old, painted the privacy wall, whipper snipped over at their place, and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday!
We had fire pit Tuesday last night, until the thunder storm broke us up, and I had to call for a ride home!!

Better go, hope you're all well.
I'll put pictures of the Auction up next time.
Hopefully not a month from now.
I also whipped up a birthday card Monday night and forgot to take a picture, and I'm making a card for the wedding!
Talk to ya later!

Change is not only likely, it's inevitable. --Barbara Sher

I'm fine you darling peeps that e-mailed!
I've had an adventure!
Vanessa & I went to Dawson Creek, BC last Friday night for the CMT Hitlist Tour!
A MA ZING!
It was awesome!
3+ hours of music, no intermission! REALLY!
While we were there for a sleepover, we looked up this milepost!
Drove around the block twice!
It honestly is smack in the middle of an intersection!

Had to park to take pictures, because there were lots of RCMP driving through!

On our way to Grande Prairie on Saturday, we stopped at Beaverlodge to take a picture of the humungous beaver!

We also got this in the windsheild.
On the pavement!
Vanessa ducked!
Hahahahaha!

We had lunch with one of Vanessa's friends that just had a baby.
Shopped.
Then I took her home to Peace River, & shopped some more!
I got home about 7 pm Saturday!

Shadow & I are still walking, but Tuesday & today we didn't go as far as we usually do!
It's -20, with a windchill straight from the North Pole!
Wednesday's a wash, cause it's dinner with the gf's.
One's in Mazatlan!
And every second week it's Avon sorting day!

I'm on my 3rd (THIRD) card for Kalens birthday.
OMG!
The ocean/sea theme isn't working for me.
The camo pinwheels aren't doing it either!
They're very cute though!
If this one isn't right, I guess he'll just get something out of the drawer!
Which would be a little disappointing, cause I designed the cards with a flap cut out, that turns into a pocket on the inside!

I got the 'Aunt' cards made!
Better get them in the mail so they know when I'll be passing through, and they can come or not!

I'm still here, just trying to make a birthday card for my boy that will work!

Oh yeah, I'm gonna try to add a picture of him & his girlfriend Racheal; he's getting presented his Sailor of the Quarter!

Look at that!
I DID it!
Out of a zip file & everything!
And it's not H U G E!

Hope I don't get in trouble for that!
It wouldn't let me copy & paste, or watermark it, or anything!
Maybe don't tell anyone I stole borrowed Gov't property!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right! --Henry Ford

Just a note to tell you what's going on in the life of Gail!
And before I forget, the owl in this post is a Barred Owl!

I've had a make work kinda day!
It's Family Day here in Alberta, so no work!!! (At least at my paid job!)

It started with me using the electric frying pan the kids got me for Christmas!

I had to find a place for it, which led to cleaning out the
Seldom Used Appliance Cupboard!
I tossed about half of the recycled plastic containers!
I think that Pina Colada mix will be used at the first campfire of the season!
Which can't happen too soon!
It was unseasonably warm 2-3 days last week.
Now the parking lot, and all my nicely snowblown paths are skating rinks!
However, I digress.......

I then decided I needed to catch up on my scrapbooking the pictures and hand crafted cards people send at Christmas........you know who you are!!!
But, I didn't want to move my coloring off my desk.
I'm on a roll!
Those are Kraftin Kimmie Stamps on the top, and I won Fridays releases!!!
Whooohooooo!

Anyhoo, I hadn't scrapbooked 2011 yet!
I. KNOW. RIGHT!
Slacker!

So I did sonething I swore I wouldn't do when I got my craft room.......
I hauled all my stuff to the kitchen table!

Don't worry, I'm done!
2011 AND 2012!
Ray had to go to work, he'll never know!

I've finished all the chores, had supper,
I had a roast in the slow cooker,
now I'm going to see what's on TV and color some more.......
oh yeah, I've got 2 chalkboard technique cards on the go too!

I DID make a card or 2 or 3 this week........here's one!

Kept it kinda flat for mailing...............
got the inspiration over here,
and she got it from here!

I think my mom might need some more Thank You cards, and I'll be going in June.
We're going to the Amish Auction Sale! AGAIN!
Making the chalkboard cards as invites for the Aunts.

Better go!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. --Agatha Christie

TGIF!

I keep forgetting to welcome my new follower(s)!
Glad to see you!
I doubt that you'll learn anything here, but you might get a laugh or 2!

I am getting ready for a wine & cheese party later tonight!
One of my BBF's bf planned it. (One of the gf's I spend every Wednesday dinner with)
I guess he figured if the world was ending she might as well be with her gf's!
Smart man, or maybe he's trying to get on Santa's 'NICE' list!!

These are the invitations she gave out!

Ya know ya live in a small town when............hahahaha!
And what's the concensus...Do I take wine for the host when it's a Wine & Cheese party?

Wine & cheese tonight, and dinner out tomorrow with Rays boss & co workers.

I've filled the furnace, cleaned the roof, fed & watered the cats & dog!

Had 2 dinners & gift exchanges out this week.........
One of my gf's said the Hot Chocolate on a Stick didn't even make it to the hot milk!!!

AND it's blizzarding!

I made Kalen a Congratulations card, cause last week he was awarded Sailor of The Quarter, at a small luncheon with the Lieutenant Governor!

I DID ask him for pictures & such!
He found out that morning & thought his crew mates were pranking him!
The US has a great site on the Navy, Canada...not so much!

Hope I get time to whip up a few cards this weekend!
My gf's stepdad had a heart attack......she said he 'needs' a 'Gail card'!

Vanessa & Shawn will be here on Monday; I think they're staying until Wednesday!
Hope it's not too cold for skidooing!

I go back to work next Thursday! Yay me!

Here's a Thank you card I made for the local theatre.
They are very generous with coupons for the kids for Daddy & Me!

I also gave them some Poppycock and Hot Chocolate on a Stick!

Better go, gotta start the van & stop at the liquer store!
Have a great weekend!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!
