Cushion the painful effects of hard blows by keeping the enthusiasm going strong, even if doing so requires struggle. --Norman Vincent Peale

I am 2 weeks late with my last blog post!
No, you didn't miss anything.....I was all ready to catch you up on what's going on....AND....believe it or not, the internet was down!
Cell phones didn't work, my internet stick didn't work.
The only thing that worked was wifi, which I found out when I trotted down the alley on Sunday July 26th to Vanessa's,
to tell her my phone didn't work!
Of course "Thank You for choosing Telus" kept trying to tell us there wasn't an issue, and that it was our phones!
Oh well, all's well now so I'll get on with it!

I needed a card~
Haha, I've needed a lot of cards, and they are whipped up as needed!

There you go!
Now you can get on with your day!

Vanessa brought over these flowers & wine last Friday, August 7, for my birthday!

I grabbed the bottle of wine, & headed out (late) to Firepit Friday with my peeps!

It's still crazy around here, and will be until after the social next Saturday, but is slowing down....REALLY!
I had a small panic attack one evening last week, then told myself; " You've got this!"
I'm good now!
It's coming down to the wire, so I have a list.
I'm slowly crossing things off.
Vanessa is working today, so I'm cleaning house (my house), doing laundry, and making a pie for Sunday supper tomorrow.
It's our last one with Kalen, as next Sunday he'll be on his way back to college.
Vanessa & I will both have house guests next weekend, so I REALLY need to clean house!
I need to make a trip to the fruit truck (comes from BC), the hardware store, grocery store, and probably a trip to the liquor store.
New rules; anyone going to the liquor store has to get the free bag of ice with purchase!
I've been buying one bottle of wine at a time!! hahahaha

I have a ton of pictures for you!
In no particular order:
Our office is out of town....
This is the audience when I drive down the gravel road!

I call Vanessa's covered patio my 'Office'!
Here we are getting crafty for the social!
I call them 'party favors', they're for the guests!

This is the outside of the privacy wall Kalen & I put up!
We have another birdhouse for the middle post, but if it doesn't rain, this will be the backdrop for the photo booth!

This is our view sitting on the patio.
See the roof of the neighbors house?
Their deck is to the left.
We're in the ground 2 feet, and they have a raised deck.
We are not on display anymore!!!
They're not too fond of it!

This brown bear was in the ditch on my way to a meeting one morning!
He has a white stripe down his back!

I had to stop on the highway last night for a black bear!

This is the kids ugly entry; which when scrubbed about 4 times, I decided there was only a really bad coat of primer on it!
Not even paint!
The floor was done here!

Ok,  I need to wrap this up, as it's taken me 2 days to write it!
I did get to the fruit truck & the hardware store, grocery store is this morning, so is the liquor store. Hopefully Vanessa turned on the slow cooker this morning for supper!
Yesterday I got the trim cut for between the different laminate.
It goes in the doorways of the bedrooms.
The little gas heater in the kid's ugly entry got put back together & up on the wall. We spray painted it white!
I cut some more trim for the jars we're using for candles, made the banner for the birdcage that will hold cards.
My bedroom/ craft room got cleaned, so did the bathroom.
Set up the furniture with Vanessa in her spare room!
My add on last night was blueberry muffins, so they and the pie were baking after 10 pm.
One more week of C R A Z Y , then things should get back to 'Normal'! hahahahaha

Got the 5th wheel sold.
The guy came to pick it up in the pouring rain!
My raincoat must have weighed 50lbs.!
That's ok, it's gone!
One less thing for me to worry about!
I have decided it's ok for me to upgrade to a new computer; this one is 6, and very pokey!
I'm also thinking about a 'smart TV' and wifi.
Look at me go!

I do have pictures of the updated, refreshed entry over at the kid's, but that will be for another day!
I'll probably be back to talk to you after the social!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

Footprints in the sand of time were not made by folks who stood still. --Unknown

Alrighty!
Hello, Thanks for popping in!
I have promised you Amish Auction pics for a month!
I'll get right to it!

First; they were paving by the tunnel this side of Cranbrook.
Quite a lengthy delay.
It's ok, it's summer people, that's when they do construction!
This is the temperature.
Yes I'm stopped, my cruise is just set!

This is the lineup behind me in my rearview mirror!
Goes way around the mountain!
Doesn't take much to amuse me!

Rexford, Montana
Quilts being auctioned off in the quilt barn.

Whimsical playhouse

Furniture barn.
The back of my mom on the left! hahahaha

These next 2 pics are doll furniture!
I realize I didn't get a picture of the bed, but you can see it's tiny little quilt behind the tiny night stand on the right!

Experiment......

Awesome workmanship!

Interesting pieces......

This next one is at mom's.
It's her 'man' gate, something tried to get in!

Did I mention that I LOVE the mountains!?
This is on highway 22 south of Calgary!

There, you finally have a condensed version!!

I must go get my muffins made, then I'm off to paint!

Yesterday I participated in our parade float for rodeo weekend here in town.
Then we all had lunch out at the office.
I cleaned my saskatoons I had picked the night before (they were picked before Firepit Friday), did the laundry, painted one of the window frames on the garage at Vanessa's, emailed my aunt 2 recipes for rhubarb, and was drinking wine with Sarah shortly after 8 pm!
Today is a second coat of paint on the window frame, washing the entry, and it's Sunday supper!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud. --Maya Angelou

Hello everyone!
Thanks for dropping in!

I attended a wedding last Saturday & needed a card!
This is not the labor intensive one I started,
but I was able to whip it up fast, and I liked it!

Got the inspiration over here!
Thanks Claudia!

I always think I sound like a broken record when I tell you how busy I've been!
Of course I'm busy, or I'd be making more cards & blogging!
The push is on to get the house & yard ready over at V & H's before the social!
The fence is ongoing as it's been so hot, we ran out of paint (& I refuse to buy another gallon until it's on sale!), and something bit me!

Here's Cinderella/ AKA Vanessa doing the bottom foot or so!
That's her job!

We have 5 sections left and when the paint is on sale, that will be the priority!
We've hired a girl to paint the entry....
that will be done on the 23 & 24;
what a load off my mind, as I was scared of those 12 foot walls!

The whole province is on fire again, as are BC & Saskatchewan!

We had to quit painting fence one night because of the ash!

Lots of planning for the social for the kids!
It'll be fun!
I'm working another casino later this month, our rodeo (scroll down) is next weekend...........

I have the last load of laundry in the washer (for today), then I'm going to check my gf's place.
They're on their way to the Yukon & Alaska, and I'm not sure if they'll get there!
They keep closing the Alaska Highway because of fires!
She said I don't have to water anything....they know how dry it is!
Just make sure nothing's leaking etc.!
I'm babysitting later tonight so V & H and their friends can go to the movie!

Gotta run!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

May you live every day of your life. --Jonathan Swift

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Well, it's about time I say!
Holy Moly there's been a lot going on.........
Most of it good!
Ah heck, it's all good!

These 2 said "I DO" on Thursday June 25, 2015 in Creston, B.C.

I wasn't there, but my mom was.
According to Vanessa, she was the Maid of Honor, Bridesmaid & Flower Girl, all rolled into one!
My mom said it was perfect.
Just how things should be done;
and when she asked what they were doing with the $20-$30 Thousand they were saving on a wedding, Vanessa replied that they were saving up for siding for the house! How practical is that!?
A BBQ social is planned for next month.....
I'm gonna be busy! hahahaha

Anyhoo, that was the BIG news.
Before I went to the Amish Auction Sale, I needed to make 2 cards.
Vanessa needed a 'really nice' Thank You card...as per my mother!

This was for the lady that performed the ceremony.

Also, I needed a birthday card for Harley, Vanessa's other half, as his birthday was the day of the sale!

And, over at this post was my mom's Mother's Day card!
She told me I've come a long way.
She figures this one was made when I was 10 or 11.

She keeps stuff like that!
Hahahaha!

Vanessa & Harley left the day I got back from the auction; June 20.
So all last week I painted like a crazy women at their place!
I tell people I do what I want over there, but really,
the paint is bought, or it's what they want done!
I painted the stairs & landing in their entry to freshen it up.
The shutters I was making the screen out of got done, and put together!
Here's the mess it was made to hide.

And here's where it's living!

I have also worked, worked the casino, attended a Birthday Party for a 1 year old, painted the privacy wall, whipper snipped over at their place, and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday!
We had fire pit Tuesday last night, until the thunder storm broke us up, and I had to call for a ride home!!

Better go, hope you're all well.
I'll put pictures of the Auction up next time.
Hopefully not a month from now.
I also whipped up a birthday card Monday night and forgot to take a picture, and I'm making a card for the wedding!
Talk to ya later!

Positive anything is better than negative nothing. --Elbert Hubbard

Hello, haven't seen you for a while!
I've been away, got back late last Saturday night, & have been super busy........of course I have! OI!

I'll show you Vanessa's Birthday card, and a picture of a scrawny moose, then you can get on with your lives!
Cause this post will be picture heavy...........
And let me just say that having a newfangled phone means some good pictures are on there!
Soon as I get them to the cloud, I'll share more!
(And yes, I manually have to send them there, cause I DO NOT have one of 'those' phones!)

Her birthday was Tuesday.
I took her for supper at Subway!
Dropped her off; then texted her that I was coming back, as the town has supplied big garbage bins all over town for the Spring Cleanup. They had just emptied the one at the end of the street, so we cleaned out her garage!

Here's the inside of the card.
I got the big stamp on the left from Mark at
Told Vanessa she had to practice those sayings all year!

I was on my way out to the farm for potting soil earlier this week.

Here's some pictures from our trip!!!
We left Peace River on Sunday the 3rd.
Stayed at Fort Saskatchewan Sunday night.
Lethbridge, AB. Monday night.
Sandy, Utah Tuesday, and we were in Maricopa on Wednesday night!

Saw a few of these below........

These were rocks (I think) at a rest stop!
They look like dinasaur skeletons to me!

Pretty truck!

Lighthouse somewhere in land locked Utah!

Las Vegas.
We just got lunch on the south(east) side!

Our traveling companion
Charlie Brown.
He gets upset with the Dog Whisperer!

Field of corn in Arizona

Lots of solar panels on the houses there

The cacti were blooming

Covered playgrounds

We ate here!
It was awesome. I also had a spiked lemonade! YUM!

I had a blast, we did tons of stuff, and absolutely nothing.
Ate out a couple times.
Shopped til we dropped a time or 2.
Swam in the pool every day except 2 I think!
Road trips to stores, a movie, life is good!
I'll be going back!

This is what the kids did for fun while I was gone!
Built a new fence!

This is what Kalen & I did today.
A privacy wall.
The neighbors deck is about 4 feet off the ground.
The patio at Vanessa's is about 2 feet in the ground.
You can see the retaining wall we built last year.
I'll show you when we get it painted, landscaped a tad, stairs in.....
Anyhoo, even with the new fence, we were on display!
Now we're not!

Kalen said we had to atone for not being there to help with the fence!

I've worked at the Oil & Gas trade show in Peace River.
Had dinner with the gf's & Wine Night Wednesday!
I had Avon to deliver, work to catch up on, and Firepit Friday!!
I am going up the alley tomorrow to finish a little piece of fence by the front gate!
Only because the weather's lovely & I like to be outside!!
Might even get to the farm for a minute.
One of the gf's wants some perennials.

Better go!

Hope you're well!
Talk to ya later!
