“When a woman becomes her own best friend life is easier.” – Diane Von Furstenberg

 Hello!

Just a quick post this morning!

This is V & H's valentine card. Will be sent this week, so hopefully arrives on time!

This is the one I gave my mom! I know it's early; it's so she'll take her Christmas card down!

I have these odd glitter sticker sheets, in several colors that a friend gave to me. That's what's under the die cuts. I got the dies on sale after Valentine's Day last year.

I am linking these up at:

Cut It Up #269/ Anything Goes/ Must use a die cut

That's all I got!

Hope you are well!

Talk to ya later!

Stay safe!

It's Ok to be said and heard: it's Ok to be who you are.~Hailee Steinfeld

 Hello!

I will show you my Valentine's cards so you can get on with your day!

Brysons.

Because he knows what a narwhal is!?

Kalens.

I must think this is a 'guy' heart.

I used the same image for him last year!

I did add a charm, because he had bought a house in town!

Moms.

Vanessa & Harleys.

A fun shaker card.

I got a jar image off the internet, and cut it out!

Then I stamped 'conversation candy' hearts, and cut them out.

I am buying a new vehicle this year (maybe)!

I am sending Vanessa the 'build your own hybrid' that I found on the FORD site. She works at Ford. I am hoping to get a friends and family discount!

So I made Bryson a bookmark.

He likes the annoying goat in the Grinch movie he loves.

I also, because I don't have enough to do, started volunteering at a little shop here in town.

I signed up as a 'spare' but immediately had my own little 3 hour shift.

I'm ok with it. It is run on donations and volunteers, and all money raised goes to our local hospital.

 I have been making cards.

I have a few more on the go. Had to wait for the bags to put them in. I got some bags that will show the inside, because I stamped in some!

It has been quite lovely here.

Kalen has been moving; the piles in the sunroom, garage, and garden shed are going down.

I have made some Birthday cards, get well, and thinking of you. I will have to see if I took pictures.

My brother came for a short visit last weekend. Pretty sure he's the favorite!

I better go and make some lunch, before my mom eats all the cookies again, and blames me!

My aunt is coming this afternoon to help me change the flag outside. It's tattered, and hung up on itself!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Wash your hands, wear your mask, and stay safe!

Talk to ya later!

THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF ANYTHING YOU WANT~anonymous

 Good day!

Happy New Year......I'm going to just keep saying that!

I've decided you can't be too late with that greeting!

I see light at the end of the tunnel, with the vaccine, etc.

Until then; I will be a mask wearing, hand washing, order my groceries online fool!

I had some ornaments made just before Christmas. They're made out of wood. A few special people got them.

Thought that summed it up well!

My Valentine's cards are made.

I'm on to an order, which is an assortment of Birthday & Thinking of You.

Mom's card.

Vanessa & Harley's.

Kalen.

Bryson

                            I know this one is cheesy....He's 4!

A few friends were sent one out of the drawer.

I have been cleaning, and sorting in the craft area. Today there was a lot of pretty trash!

I did crochet a toque.

A friend had given me a really chunky yarn.

Vanessa said she'd like a headband in blue.

Told her I only had lime green and purple in this wool.

I did however, pick up a lovely blue in my quest to find the size of crochet hook I should have used. Might have to order it online!

I have ordered craft kits online for this year; as I am so far from a 'craft' store, I don't know what I'm missing!

I have been feeding the birds.

Can you see them in these pictures?

I just truck out to the feeders, and a whole flock of these guys fly up off the ground!

They're so hard to see!!!

We have been taking mom a meal, either Saturday or Sunday, depending on Kalens schedule.

And only if she's home alone.

Yesterday we took, ham, scalloped potatoes, harvard beets, pickles, & banana bread.

I am making a few treats for my coworkers.

It's been cold here, for us! Below 0.

Not a lot of snow, we are supposed to get some all this week. I need a new shovel, and Home Hardware has electric shovels I have been eye balling!

Better go!

Wash your hands and stay safe!

Talk to ya later!

“If you’re feeling helpless, help someone.” — Aung San Suu Kyi

Good Day!
I don't know where the time has gone!
On January 4th my mom fell outside on her sidewalk & fractured her pelvis.
I have never seen my mom in so much pain.
I took her home after 2 weeks in the hospital.
To her house!
She had to promise to shower when someone is there, and not to use her wood stove. Using the wood stove means kindling, going outside, packing wood.
I  take or make her supper every second day.
Hopefully her sisters visit the days I'm not there!
It's Chinese New Years Buffet at the a restaurant in town.
I've asked her all week if I could pick her up.
Last night she said, yes, pick me up, I'm feeling better.
Then, no, I'm not going with a walker.
OI!
Anyhoo, she's on the mend!

Vanessa did send me a picture of her Christmas card.
Next to the shaker cards it's her favorite.
That's pretty high praise!
It's real sparkly in real life!
I realized when she sent the picture, that the wooden hearts I put on look like V's!

I did get some Valentine cards made!
Mom's

 Kalens

 Vanessa & Harley

 Bryson

I love that this folds flat!

We had snowmaggedon! Nothing like down east, but it started & wouldn't quit!
This is probably day 4, and Kalen finally got one piece of snow removal equipment working!
When I complained to my family up north, they said, well
at least it isn't -40!
It's been raining all week, so the snow is almost gone!

The snow wouldn't quit, so I had a laundry soap making day!

Fels Naptha is getting harder to find just over the line in the
U S of A, so I used Zote.

The bar is twice as big, think the price is comparable!
I also ordered some seeds online, which surprised me by arriving the next week!

We  still want to get some Milkweed, as we seen Monarchs at the lake when the kids were here.
Kalen didn't think they were this far north.
Pretty sure I'm right in their path for the lake!!
Actually, I'd like to plant more shrubs & flowers, cut down on the mowing!
Also, my front yard is pretty much dirt, so would like to fill in with Hostas etc. It's shady & they are compatible with walnut trees.

Better go.
Hope you are well!
Talk to ya later!

Inspiration is some mysterious blessing which happens when the wheels are turning smoothly.~Quentin Blake

I have had a busy couple weeks!
Of course I have!
Got some cards made, I'm working on a few Birthday cards now.
Valentine cards made & sent!

 This one Kalen received.
I punched the hearts out then stuck them back in popped up!

These were Triangle fun fold cards.

I made & sent treats for everyone at Bryson's day care!

I had a chimney fire early Monday morning.
Scared the crap out of me; the chimney sweepers who arrived later in the day say "It only scares us- let it burn"!
Easy for them to say; I said next time there won't be a 100 kmh wind from the north to keep the sparks off the house!
My mom says, there won't be a next time. I already had one!
OI!

The chimney sweepers were able to come that day & fix me up!
Awesome people, and who knew I'd need them!
Thought it was just a movie!!
This is not my chimney cap, but that's what it looked like!

My day starts pretty early in the commune!
I hit the start button on the coffee machine, light the fire, go outside to check the weather, come back in and pour a coffee.
That morning, as I'm pouring coffee, I thought, where are all those sparks coming from!?
BOTHER!

When Kalen visits next I'll tell him what I want need!
On my list already are 2 metal buckets with lids, sand, a spray nozzle for the hose (don't spray water down the chimney) etc.
I didn't (spray water), I couldn't get the hose hooked up to the tap.
Forgot I have a tap right next to the chimney!

Been to Mary Poppins, loved it!
Took mom to her appointment in Fernie!
Got a job.
Wyndell Saturday night for the coffee house.
Going to 'A Tapestry of Love' performance on Sunday.
Got 2 cords of wood delivered & stacked in my little shed. My uncle helped with one, I did the other by myself.
I face time with Bryson regularly, and he phones to talk to gramma when he gets in trouble!

There's the condensed version!

Hope you're well!
Talk to you later!

You must do the things you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

Hello!
Happy New Year!
I know, Valentine's Day is this week!
It was -36C this morning!

Well, I have a treat for you!
I DID make Valentine cards! Only 2 made it on to the camera!
I'll show them to you first, then you can get on with your day!

Sorry about the quality of the pics!
I just don't have a great place to photograph pictures in this place!
The first one is for Brysons' parents!
The second is for Bryson!
It was the hardest, shcmeryist, blotchiest card I've made in forever!
Arghh! It was awesome in my head!
The bug is embossed in black, then I added flocking!
He liked it! That's all that matters!

So I hope everyone is well, and I will get to visiting blogs, as soon as I have a minute! I have been thinking of you all!

Been working on cards for the Family Reunion this summer.
We always have a silent auction, and our goods are supposed to be home made!

Been to a movie or two!
I did make tiny little Valentine treat boxes for the women at our monthly meeting for January.
I have been the after Day Care care!
I also usually have him on Mondays!
It's Alberta's Family Day this weekend, and I'm going to visit friends! Bryson's parents have Monday off, so I will have a day off!! Someone will pick him up Friday so I can leave right after work.
I have an evil cough I can't get rid of!
I did have a cold just after New Years, and coughed for 2 weeks.
The cough is back with a vengeance! Pretty sure I have shares in Fisherman's Friend lozenges!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt. -Charles Monroe Schultz

Good morning!

I had to get these last Valentine's cards up, before the day is over!
Although I did read that we have 364 other days of the year to tell people we love them!
Here's Vanessa's card.

And here's Bryson's.

He likes the bright colors!

I also made my co-worker a card! I've had this card for a while, you know; I was hoarding it! Her last day of work is Wednesday.
I'll miss her; she's opening a flower shop in her home town.
It will save her the 2 hour drive every day for work!

In other news; the Friday night craft project is coming along!
I think it should be done this Friday!
I DID make this last week!
I've had it sitting around for ever!
Now it's done!
Just have no idea what I'll put in it!

Now, I must go frost some Red Velvet cupcakes for later today, before I trot up the alley to watch this little munchkin!

He's such a happy, good little dude!

Gotta run!
Hope you're all well!
Have a super Valentine's Day!
Talk to ya later!

Life changes for the better when we realize that we don't have to know everything and we don't have to pretend we do. --Simon Sinek

Good afternoon!
I had really good intentions of doing this earlier!
Much earlier.

I went to look in my email for some inspiration for the title.
Got sidetracked and cleaned out hundreds of old emails.

The laundry got done.
All of it!

Trip to the grocery store.
Before 9 a.m.!

The trifle for dessert tomorrow.
Is done!

The paper work for me getting scammed online before Christmas.
Is done!

I am working on my second crocheted swiffer cover. I had a bunch of cotton I'd seriously thought about tossing.....mine are made with scraps! I love that they're reusable!

It's also time for me to make another batch of Laundry soap. There are lots of recipes on the internet. The one I found called for Fels-Naptha bar soap, and I have quite the stash from my trip to mom's last year! The rest is the same as the picture I took  when I bought this last year!

I will get my supplies on Monday in PR. I have appointments, and Vanessa & Bryson are coming along for the ride, and to do some grocery shopping.

I AM getting my Valentine cards done.
2 have already been sent! I'll show them to you, but you can't say anything, because they won't have them yet!!

I have replenished the birthday cards, sympathy cards (hope I never need them), Thinking of you etc.!

I have watched the little dude down the alley.
In fact his parents are having date night tonight, and going to SING

I have done a casino, been to a movie or two, had gf suppers, Friday night craft night, the flu, and of course the list goes on!

Here are some cards:

I know this last one is cheesy. Just let me have that! It's Valentine's!

These are my treat boxes I made for all my peeps for Valentine's! I'll get the stuff to fill them on Monday!

Better go!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
