One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure. -William Feather

Oh bother, another beverage is order!
Long, picture heavy post!

I'll show you the quilled sunflower first, then you can continue blog surfing!
Don't feel obligated to finish the post!
This needs a sentiment, but I'll have to think about it, or wait until I want to use it!

I dug out a cross stitch last night!
My boss needed a ruler that had circles in it.
While looking for my knitting needle gauge, I found a couple pictures I should do up!

Anyhoo, it's been an eventful week!

Earlier this week, in a random blizzard, I was looking for the elk.
Hadn't seen them yet this drug out winter spring!

Here they are at the far end of the pasture.

And here they are on the road one morning!

When I drive down there, there's just the tracks on the road!
They're like ninjas......they just vanish!

I saw an eagle!

Here he is giving me the evil eye!

No leaves on those trees yet people!

I saw the usual geese, ducks, & swans.

Then added to the mix one day was a bunch of cranes!

Hahaha, this guy on the right was giving me the finger.....REALLY!

Lookit this!

He/she was just having a rest in the yard!
So cool!

After the -16 morning on Tuesday, Spring arrived Thursday night with a vengence!
This is sunrise Friday morning!
The bridge board across the small well behaved creek, is trying to leave the scene!

This was last night!
The road goes over to the fenced pastures!
I mow on both sides of the little dirt road!
You can see my poor little spruce trees are getting a real good drink!

Here's Shadow.
She's saying, "Do you SEE this!? My forest is full of water...WTH!?"

"OH well, might as well check it out!"
Worse than a kid I tell you!

On Wednesday one of the gf's said, "Is it dry by your fire pit yet?"
I said, "It will be in a few days"
(Insert maniacal laughter here!)
It's flooding!

Here's the footwear of choice to check out the water situation!
Short pants & rubber boots!

It's gone down quite a bit already today!
I think it was just the initial thaw in the forest!

The wood furnace is shut off!
It's probably tired after 7 months of working!
All the dry wood left in the woodshed will get split for the fire pit!
I got a hug this week in the computer store for this Sympathy card!
I was buying a new TV for my craft room.
A 19" flatscreen.
I'll let you know how I like that!
I know the sound is better!

I took my peeps from the OFH to Walmart in Peace River today!
I only had a few things on my list!
Vanessa met us there, and we picked out some outfits for our friend that had twins.
She has a 1 1/2 year old too, so she's getting a sun dress and coloring book!

I was looking for a milk frother!
Vanessa said, "Are they on sale?"
I said, "I don't even know if they have them here, I just googled them and Walmart popped up!"
Vanessa, "OMG, you're just like some people that come in the store, and tell us they saw something on line, and why don't we have it!"
I said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to make a scene, I was just checking to see if they had one!"
They didn't!

Ray got new tires put on the van while I was gone.
And he washed it as a bonus!

The tire swing got fixed when I got home, and I cleaned up some more garbage in the yard!
Where does that crap come from!?
And if all the snow would melt out of the fire pit, I'd clean it out, so I'm ready!

Shadow's going to the vet on Monday, so I'll be back down in PR.
Vanessa's checking to see if they have a milk frother at her store, and Ray needs a new phone.
Shadow's not sick, she's going for her annual shots,
and I'm actually going to pay to get her hair cut!
And a mani pedi, and what ever else they figure she needs to be comfortable in the heat.
If we have heat!

Better go, been up forever!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends. --Shirley MacLaine

Better get a beverage people, this will be a long one!

Stressful week this!
A friend of ours had her twins on the weekend, and her dad died this week.
He was battling cancer.
I need to send a few cards.

Work is CAH RA ZEEE busy!

Had a few commitments, and ended with Happy Hour at the OFH last night!
Somewhere between arriving & leaving last night, I got talked into taking my old peeps to Wal Mart next Saturday.

I fixed my vertical blind that Vanessa & I wrecked when we assembled the tread mill!
I. KNOW!
We're home wreckers!
The blind got pulled off, and it busted the little clip!

I got out my trusty little dremel,  my jewelry card making tools,  some hay wire
and got busy!

I love the dremel set.
A little FYI; that sucker can drill through anything so don't drill directly on your countertops.
Just sayin!

Here's the fixed blind!

I was going to replace them, cause I've always hated them, but hey, they work!

Here's some pictures I took this week..............We'll start with the sunrise this morning!
I was up at 4:30 WTH!?

I found this nest over by the creek, which is running.
It's only about 3 feet off the ground; my mom thinks they didn't know better.

This was just cool!

Here's everyone getting along!
Some geese, ducks & swans!

And this guy posed on my way to work one day!
Wish I'd have still had the camera out when he lifted off, his wing span must have been 7 feet!

We cleaned some of the yard today................
The garbage that was sticking out of the snow, went to the dump!

Had to make some ditches in the lawn!
Remember this post, the mess they made digging in the water line!?
Well there's a lake back there!

I guess we'll have to add more dirt close to the house.

Let me give you todays weather report!
Ya know ya live in Alberta if you can go from:
10 degrees above 0, to pouring rain, to below 0 & snow!
Yup, I kid you not, and it's still below 0!

I finished a Mini Album for one of Vanessas' friends.

Then I did a make work project...you know me, there's very seldom an easy way when I'm on a mission!
I received my goodies from Quilled Creations!
I got this kit!
The instructions are not great....usually when quilling they'll tell you to make so many circles or what ever and you use one of these to measure!
These instructions say to make random circles....hahahahaha!
So I did!

That lilac is no way gonna fit in that cute little oval card!
So I made my own!
Here's the finished product.

It's going to be a birthday card for a friend.

I'm doing the sunflower now, and trying my darndest to make it to fit in the oval card!

Ok I'm done!
Hope you're all well!
I'll be visiting soon.
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

The nicest thing about the future is that it always starts tomorrow.

Let me TELL you about my day!

Ray was called to work last night and left around 5 am for a sleepover or 2 or 3!
And I'll tell ya right now that it's probably for the best!

I got up at 7 am.
Slept in for sure!
I put some Boston Baked Beans in the slow cooker, cause I've had a craving, and I used the ham bone from last week.
I put a seasoned roast & all the fixins in the oven, preset the temp, cook time etc! Cause I'm going to play outside.
Was on my second load of laundry, that I was hanging on the line, and cleaning my tub, for my much anticipated jacuzzi soak later; when I had MUD coming out of the tap....MUD I tell ya!
Looked in the washer, and it was filling up with Mud too..arrgghhhhhhhh!

Let's back up.
A couple weeks ago, Mr. Procrastinator (who lives at this address) told me that the heave in the ice, when the dugout filled, busted the rope holding the water lines & float.
Then just this past week, he told me that the ice was gone he could get a boat in there. to fix it.
See he tells me this stuff, doesn't mean it gets done.

I STOMP (cause that's what I do when I'm testy) out to the dugout, and find the float sucked up against the south side.
The water lines are sticking out again, so I'm thinking they probably took a nose dive into the south bank!
And....I can see the broken rope!
Well.....I'm nothing if not resourceful, I figure I'll get a hold of the broken end somehow, but How will I get it across to the other side?
I thought of tying something to a rope, but seriously people....I throw like a girl, and I didn't know if I could throw it over 80 feet, cause that's how far it is from one side to the other, and that's the width!
It's 120 feet long......anyhooo, I think about this as I'm wandering around tryng to find something to snag the broken rope with.
I'm also thinking if I find a long enough piece of rope I can walk it around to where it's supposed to be tied to a pole! Or, do I have to run to town in my rubber boots, and farm clothes and get some rope?
Well, I find a R E A L L Y  L O N G piece of rope in the shed, and while I'm there I grab a tarp strap...it has hooks on both ends hmmmmm!?
I tied the tarp strap to a smaller piece of rope I had and flung it out in the water, and it catches the rope!
Honestly, one try, just like that!
I tie, (wishing I'da paid attention in Girl Scouts) my really long rope to the busted piece, and start walking around the dugout.
Oh look, it's Mr. & Mrs. Duck back this year.
Yeah, camera in my pocket like always, and it's probably about here I got a boot full of water!

Of course I shrieked!
It's damn cold this time of year!
I keep going, and look, I tried to get a picture of some cranes for you!

Hahahaha! Aren't you guys impressed!?
I'm lucky I didn't fall in the dugout or loose the rope!
I'm getting around to the north side thinking to myself I don't know if I'm gonna be tough enough to pull those hoses over, or what if my rope breaks, I'm back at square 1, when I can feel it slurping out of the mud, and coming with me.
By now, full boot & all I'm ecstatic, I tie it to it's pole, empty my boot, and come back to the house!
It's not even 10 am, and I've already worked up a sweat!
I empty the washer, and set it to rinse again, and wah lah.......clearish water.
No mud anyway!

I finish my housework, and laundry, and go out to play!
Look, isn't this thee healthiest dandelion you've ever seen?!
For sure it's spring!

I make myself a bridge over the little creek with a pallet!

I get sidetracked & clean off the little deck. It had a broken planter on it, and extension cords from Christmas lights & stuff.
I prune the cottoneasters in front of the little deck.
I put away the Christmas solar lights that I left out, because I thought they didn't work all winter.
Turns out I just didn't turn them on!
So I left them out to enjoy them, but the days are getting longer, and I have to stay up later to see them, so I put them away!

I get the rake & clean up around Shadows house.

I haul & burn 3 wheelbarrow loads of dead willows & crap, and 2 of heavier stuff that's on my side of the little creek, it's heavy cause it's wet.
It rained twice, and I sat with the cat in the woodshed!
And  at 1:00 pm I was sitting by the fire pit drinking beer, cause I was about done in.
And in my defence it was probably 5 o clock somewhere!

OH, here's my fearless guard dog, when I'm busy.....sleeping in the shade of the pump house!

So; it's not even 6 pm, I've had my supper, my jacuzzi, brought the clothes in off the line, had a nap, now I'm going to look for the hockey game!
Second game in the series!

I'm also working on some cards for Kalen & mom for Canada Day.

Here's one I made, and I found the recipe here!
(No, not for Canada Day!)

Tomorrow, I'm not gonna do much, a load of laundry, and a wedding shower......that's it, oh yeah, gotta bake something for the meeting Monday too!
I'm thinkin apple pie!
Gotta go, you guys have a great weekend!

Ta ta for now!
