Allsorts #846

 Hello!

Hope you are well!

It's Brenda this fortnight over at Allsorts!!  She  would like to  see  that it's Springtime! There is also the Anything Goes option!

I have used the stencil OOPSA from AALL and Create. The background stamp is a new to me stamp of flower names from Great Impressions. I made an envelope with my envelope maker (that's the smallest), and filled it with unknown flowers. Which I think is a Spellbinder die! SU sentiment.

Was fun to make while I watched Netflix!!

Prizes are:

Two Penny Black Stamps available from Buddly Crafts

Go see what the DT have created! They are sure to fill your screen with beautiful flowers!

What happens to a frog’s car when it breaks down? It gets toad away.

 Hello!

Hope you are well!

I made an easel card. Was a bit of a challenge for me. I scored my paper twice. Apparently I am not a great follower of instructions!

Turned out cute, and I think it will be Brysons Easter card.

Be The Person you want to have in your Life.

 Hello!

Happy Sunday!

I have had these pieces on my desk for weeks for a card for my mom!

Finally stenciled and stamped a background to make them into a card!

Those are ribbon flowers I attached to a chip board vine I painted.

There is always light. If only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it.~Amanda Gorman

 Hello everyone.

I have a few cards. Except Brysons!? I made his first, I don't know what happened, his mom says she will send a pic when it gets there!

I did make Bryson an Easter bookmark, and mom got one by default. The sheet of paper made 2!

I got the pattern here!

This next one is moms.

It is pretty cheerful!

Kalen's

Who said, "what is that a wizard?'

I said it's a gnome, but it can be a wizard if you like.

Vanessa's

I got this here!

I have also been crocheting. Again.

To pass the time at my volunteer job.

This will be a plastic (grocery bag) holder & dispenser. I found it here. Only about 30 more rows to go.

That's all I got.

Still doing yard work.

Will make supper tomorrow night for the sisters.

Sheetpan quesadillas.  I use chicken breasts and olive oil instead of the butter.

They are so easy & a big hit. I usually have the stuff on hand. Serve it with a salad, and done!

Better go.

Stay safe. I find even though they lifted most of the mandates we had, I am still wearing a mask if I can't stay 6 feet away from people. And, yup, still ordering my groceries online, then picking them up.

Talk to ya later!

Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. ~William James

Hope your having a great Easter weekend!

I made 2 Easter cards, and everyone else got a little rabbit note-card with their treats!

This is mom's:

This is Bryson's:

I didn't even notice that I used the same paper on both until I was uploading them!

Bryson's was a big hit, as Tracker on Paw Patrol says I'm All Ears!

Mom's was made with a stamp set from Concord & 9th that came in my sampler from SCT for March.

The back 40 has been cleaned up.

There are trellis back there for Loofah  and birdhouse gourds.

There is a greenhouse up back there!

My patio window is home to a small greenhouse with lights & heat mats for the above plants, which have thoroughly enjoyed it, and will be moving over to one without the lovely amenities!

We need to start some other things, and in a couple weeks the loofah and gourds will make their way to the back greenhouse.

I have also started my tomatoes from the seeds I saved from last year. We'll see if any come up!

Our dining indoors at restaurants came to an end this past week, and will last until April 19th. Kalen said I didn't need to cook a big spread this weekend. Said we'd support a restaurant that had to go to take out and delivery. So we did that today. Between buying some rain barrels off the buy, sell, and going back with more money, we took lunch to moms. And it was fabulous. We had Reuben Sandwiches, and bean & ham soup! YUM!

I hung my laundry outside today. I have to go get the second load off the line. One sheet from the first will have a redo tomorrow, as some bird (big) felt the need to poop on it!

I'd better go, get my clothes in and make a cocktail!

It's Saturday night, and I'm dun!

Talk to ya later!

Stay safe, wear your mask & wash your hands!!

Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.~Desmond Tutu

Good day!
Hope you're all well!
I made some Easter cards.

Bryson's

It's little bunnies hiding in the grass.
I really had to improvise, as I thought I had a daisy punch.
I did, a baby one.
Grass? Maybe, but I found the drippy goo die!
He loves it!

This one is for mom.
Haven't seen her for weeks!
She says she's good.
It got put in the mail!
You know, wash your hands, stay home, stay safe.

This one is for Vanessa & Harley!
I had to get them both in the truck, cause Mr. B would notice if someone was missing!

This next one is for Kalen.
He leaves Tuesday for his last shift for work!
It's been wavering between winter & spring, so hope the roads are good.

I actually dug out my winter coat, boots and mitts for the weekend!
Good gravy, I'm so ready for Spring!
It hasn't been a lot of fun to be trying to do yard work!

I haven't been shopping for 2 weeks, and am seriously thinking about ordering online. Then they bring it to your car.
I am getting so paranoid!

I am still going to work.
I do what I have to then come home to my safe house and yard!
I like reading some of the stuff out there, and I don't want to offend anyone, but you gotta laugh sometimes!

Some will come out of this lock down with excellent cooking skills, others with a drinking problem.

50 Coronavirus Jokes That Should Help You Get Through Quarantine ...
 I never hoarded!
I have yet to buy hand sanitizer or wipes!
I know the stores get them in, I have never been in one at the right time!
I did make my own wipes.
Toilet paper is available.
Our stores are limiting these items.

That's all I got!
Stay safe everyone!

“Well-behaved women seldom make history.” ― Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

Hello!

Thought I'd better show you the Easter cards I made before it's too late!
This is moms!

 This is Vanessa & Harleys.

 This is Kalens.

I made this one for Bryson!
It's an explosion card!
There are a lot of pictures & tutorials out there.

My mom said peeps are chicks.
I bought her some Bunny Peeps

I mowed grass today, did laundry & cleaned house.
My weekend needs to last longer!

Talk to ya later!
Hope you're all well!

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.- Mahatma Gandhi

I skipped a week!
I did make cards though!
Good thing my family doesn't follow my blog!
I made these limited edition Easter cards!

 It's Bryson's hand!
He's not really a co-operative crafter!
He's an, I'd like to hold the pencil, and why can't I have that piece of paper kind of little dude!
They did turn out great though.
I gave one to his parents; Love Bryson, and his dad asked when he had the time to make cards!
Finding the feathers was a chore! I ran into Michaels when I was in GP, and couldn't find what I wanted!
Stopped at a $ store on the way to Grimshaw, and found bags and bags of feathers for cheap!

I went to GP for the Johnny Reid concert last week.
But not before I went to emergency at the hospital the Thursday night before!
I've felt horrible forever! That day my throat & ears hurt.
I have had a dry hacking cough for 7 WEEKS!
Ended up it was a bronchial infection in the large tubes from the lungs, AND a sinus infection.
Goodness!
I did have a doctors appointment in there, and he asked how long I had the cough; at that time I said 12 days, and nothing else was said about it!
My throat & ears hurt from coughing!
I got antibiotics, a puffer, and horrible cough medicine!
Ok. It did work. I feel tons better!

Anyhoo, the Saturday morning after the concert I was in Grimshaw to make this!

Vanessa wouldn't let me use "Oh The Places You'll Go."
Fixed her though, the letter font used here is the 'Dr. Suess' font!
Haha!

I've also made treat bags for my peeps for the monthly meeting. (Those of you that read this, and attend the monthly meeting better not blab!)
Also, the ladies at the post office, and my hairdresser!

They hold a treat & a tea bag.
The following ones are waiting for a tea bag. Apparently I drink a lot of loose tea, or they don't come in individual packages! They're on the list!

The link is here!

There you have it!
I have also been checking my friends house, who retired and decided to spend the winter in Arizona.
I have done laundry, baked, cooked supper at Vanessa's last night, and then babysat while they went out to drink green beer!
The kids spent the day at the ski hill, as it's warming up, and this might be the last weekend.
I'm working on my cards for our family rebellions silent auction this summer.
I'll need another day!

I also started some home made vanilla!
Yeah, I got nothin better to do!
I do have to get more vodka & vanilla beans!

Ok, you got me! I took this bottle out of the bar at work, and I may or may not have mixed 2 black rums together! Haha!
The link is here!

This week will be busy!
People are holidaying at work & it's payroll.
I don't work Monday; and Tuesday I have a meeting in PR, and a dentist appointment.
There's 2 days shot! For work anyway!
Tomorrow is my grandparenting day!
I think we need to start going to mini gym.
It's at the elementary school a couple blocks away Monday mornings.
It's for pre school age children.

Better go!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!

Happy Easter!

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”
Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Oh bother!
I probably started this over 12 hours ago!

Just so you know.
The scalloped potatoes are ready for tomorrow, as is the sweet potato casserole, coconut cream pie, cute flower cup cakes, coleslaw, etc. I was surprised when I looked at the time.
2 loads of laundry were done in there somewhere!

This is what it was doing outside when I got up yesterday morning!
It continued for most of this morning, and is now almost gone!
These are the cards I made this year for Easter.

The sameish!
Embossing is different, as is the insides!
I had quite an adventure just over a week ago.
I went to my dear SIL's and said you need to check my tires!
I wobble going slow!
My tires were separated.
All of them!
I'll put the info I found at the end, as the site was a nightmare!
I had to drive 100 kms, to the tire shop!
Last Saturday I picked up 4 friends, and we went to the Hawk Hills ladies day!
This was in our welcome bag!

The day was filled with speakers, demonstrations, a lovely lunch, and then we got to make a little succulent garden!

There were also vendors there selling their wares.
I got my favorite little person, a teether that looks like an ice cream sandwich!

I watched him last night while his parents went to the movies.
It was Boss Baby.
After his bottle, I rocked him, and sang.
I only sing for the grandbaby people!
I really have to bone up on childrens songs as I got down to
Oh Canada, and The Star Spangled Banner!
We're gonna be patriotic if nothing else!
Better go, need to relax for a minute!

Have a great Easter!
Eat too much, and laugh too much!
Enjoy your loved ones!

Hope you're all well! Talk to ya later!

Tire Separation
Question: A tire dealer recently told me that the radial tire on my rear wheel has become separated. I took the car in because it was squirming down the road. Exactly what did he mean by separation, and can it be repaired? What causes tires to separate?--M.S.
Answer: A radial tire is a sandwich that is usually made of a cord body, steel belts and rubber tread. Separation occurs when either the steel belts come loose from the cord body or when the rubber tread comes loose from the steel belts.
In either case, separation is a serious condition and almost always means that the tire has reached the end of its life, no matter how much rubber tread is left.
A separation usually throws the tire grossly out of balance, resulting in a heavy thumping noise as you drive down the road or the squirming sensation that you describe.
http://articles.latimes.com/images/pixel.gif
Although the tire may look normal when it is on the car, once it is removed you can clearly see that the tire is out of round. Sometimes the separation manifests itself as a large bubble on the tread or the sidewall.
Another indicator of separation is something known as a mole hole, which is a knot or bump on the sidewall that results from distortions of the cord body or the belts. Mole holes, which look just like a mole or gopher hole in the ground, are about the size of your fingernail.
Unfortunately, there is no way to repair a separation, because the damage has occurred in the very foundation of the tire. You should check your tire warranty, however, because such failures may be covered under the workmanship clause.
Separation can be caused by many things, such as poor overall quality or excessive tread wear. Sometimes, a puncture can damage the cord body, and even though the tire is repaired initially, the damaged cords will eventually allow separation. Another cause is worn suspension parts, such as struts, which allow a cupped wear pattern that puts a lot of stress on the tire.
Tires have been vastly improved in their ability to resist blowouts or other sudden losses of air pressure. But separations sometimes are a precursor to blowouts, which are among the most dangerous mechanical mishaps you can experience at highway speeds.
Aside from safety reasons, consider the possibility that the tire could throw off a steel belt or tread that could rip up your fender well and cause hundreds of dollars worth of damage.

Set the table and block your schedule. Greatness wants to be your guest. --CSG

Hello!
I feel I've been neglecting you!
I always have good intentions, then something comes up!
I'll show you the cards I have made, and you can get on with your day!
This is a birthday card I made for a friend for the end of February.

These are the Easter cards I made the kids.

Mom got one out of the stash!

You know I make my peeps, the kids of the bosses at work, and a few of my co workers treats for some occasions.
I got to work one day after Valentine's Day to find this on my computer & in my space!

He was busy with the sticky note pad & stamps!!!!
 Made me smile!

We're not too busy to do the things we want! We make time.

Thursday evening we went to the movie, Norm of the North
We thought it was cute!

Last night I ditched craft night to go out for supper with the crafters, and then go to one of the schools to listen to Eva Olsson. She's a 91 year old Holocaust survivor.
She's amazing, and if you ever have the opportunity to see her; go!
She talks about "Hate" and "Bullying".
She talks about not being a bystander, if you see something that bothers you, do something.
Her attitude made me smile..........she could have come away from that a totally different person, but she chose to forgive, move on, and spread her message!
The slide show is horrifying; Vanessa especially, can't believe that people are that mean & uncaring. The movie "The Woman in Gold" bothered her.
We take for granted what we have, and just can't imagine that happening.
All because of where we live on the map!
Pretty sure that can happen anywhere, and Eva's statistics and numbers were just as horrifying!
Her final message was to never take anything for granted, and to tell the people you love that you love them every day!
We all know this, but Eva brings it home with, she never got to say goodbye to her mother, or siblings; no final hugs etc. They were gone.
At the end, the MC said she was sorry there wasn't a bigger crowd to hear Eva speak. Eva said, "That's ok. Those that needed to be here, were."

So; I'm hoping to bake today, laundry's on the go, Vanessa is working, and I always have coffee with her the Saturdays she works.
Might watch a movie, make a card..........that's about it on my agenda for today!

Hope you're well!
Talk to you later!
