I feel I've been neglecting you!
I always have good intentions, then something comes up!
I'll show you the cards I have made, and you can get on with your day!
This is a birthday card I made for a friend for the end of February.
He was busy with the sticky note pad & stamps!!!!
Made me smile!
We're not too busy to do the things we want! We make time.
Thursday evening we went to the movie, Norm of the North.
We thought it was cute!
Last night I ditched craft night to go out for supper with the crafters, and then go to one of the schools to listen to Eva Olsson. She's a 91 year old Holocaust survivor.
She's amazing, and if you ever have the opportunity to see her; go!
She talks about "Hate" and "Bullying".
She talks about not being a bystander, if you see something that bothers you, do something.
Her attitude made me smile..........she could have come away from that a totally different person, but she chose to forgive, move on, and spread her message!
The slide show is horrifying; Vanessa especially, can't believe that people are that mean & uncaring. The movie "The Woman in Gold" bothered her.
We take for granted what we have, and just can't imagine that happening.
All because of where we live on the map!
Pretty sure that can happen anywhere, and Eva's statistics and numbers were just as horrifying!
Her final message was to never take anything for granted, and to tell the people you love that you love them every day!
We all know this, but Eva brings it home with, she never got to say goodbye to her mother, or siblings; no final hugs etc. They were gone.
At the end, the MC said she was sorry there wasn't a bigger crowd to hear Eva speak. Eva said, "That's ok. Those that needed to be here, were."
So; I'm hoping to bake today, laundry's on the go, Vanessa is working, and I always have coffee with her the Saturdays she works.
Might watch a movie, make a card..........that's about it on my agenda for today!

Mom got one out of the stash!
You know I make my peeps, the kids of the bosses at work, and a few of my co workers treats for some occasions.
I got to work one day after Valentine's Day to find this on my computer & in my space!

Love your monochromatic cards and that sweet note is endearing. I guess we all need random acts of kindness sometimes. I cannot for the life of me understand that there are people out there who claim the Holocaust never happened. Tonight, we're going to watch a lecture on TV by a female professor and expert on terrorism (http://www.uu.nl/staff/BAdeGraaf), on terrorism, its historical context and how to deal with it. Not sure if I would have the courage to stand up against injustice, but it's amazing what we are all capable of (good or bad) if the need arises. I can only hope I will make the right choice.

What a beautiful array of cards (and I especially like #1, the floral oval was a perfect aperture for the marbling I see under it..such a pretty look). Enjoyed reading your post, and can imagine how awesome it was to hear this survivor's memories. We hate to think that something similar could happen again...yet, it could! For the courage of someone who endured that awfulness, to have forgiven, moved on to a rich life, is nearly unbelievable. Not sure I'd have that strength of character, but I sure do admire it. And yes, our young folks of today, can't seem to grasp that mankind can be so evil towards one another...but - sadly - mankind can! TFS & for an inspiring post. Have a great week.

Your pink card made me realize that I could do "something" with the shaving cream technique cards or faces or whatever you call them that I have made and didn't really know what to do with. lol

I hope you're having a good week! I finally got to read your post - it's been a busy weekend here with friends visiting. I can't believe you actually got around to making Easter cards... there won't be any from my side this year :-( Next weekend will be Creativa again and I will certainly buy loads of new supplies - only wondering when I should make use of them! As for the Holocaust: after the elections in three states over here last weekend, "one wants to walk around spanking people with history books" as someone so nicely put it on FB. Soon there will be no more Evas telling people about their experiences and I hope these experiences can be kept alive in other ways...
