Happy Easter!

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”
Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Oh bother!
I probably started this over 12 hours ago!

Just so you know.
The scalloped potatoes are ready for tomorrow, as is the sweet potato casserole, coconut cream pie, cute flower cup cakes, coleslaw, etc. I was surprised when I looked at the time.
2 loads of laundry were done in there somewhere!

This is what it was doing outside when I got up yesterday morning!
It continued for most of this morning, and is now almost gone!
These are the cards I made this year for Easter.

The sameish!
Embossing is different, as is the insides!
I had quite an adventure just over a week ago.
I went to my dear SIL's and said you need to check my tires!
I wobble going slow!
My tires were separated.
All of them!
I'll put the info I found at the end, as the site was a nightmare!
I had to drive 100 kms, to the tire shop!
Last Saturday I picked up 4 friends, and we went to the Hawk Hills ladies day!
This was in our welcome bag!

The day was filled with speakers, demonstrations, a lovely lunch, and then we got to make a little succulent garden!

There were also vendors there selling their wares.
I got my favorite little person, a teether that looks like an ice cream sandwich!

I watched him last night while his parents went to the movies.
It was Boss Baby.
After his bottle, I rocked him, and sang.
I only sing for the grandbaby people!
I really have to bone up on childrens songs as I got down to
Oh Canada, and The Star Spangled Banner!
We're gonna be patriotic if nothing else!
Better go, need to relax for a minute!

Have a great Easter!
Eat too much, and laugh too much!
Enjoy your loved ones!

Hope you're all well! Talk to ya later!

Tire Separation
Question: A tire dealer recently told me that the radial tire on my rear wheel has become separated. I took the car in because it was squirming down the road. Exactly what did he mean by separation, and can it be repaired? What causes tires to separate?--M.S.
Answer: A radial tire is a sandwich that is usually made of a cord body, steel belts and rubber tread. Separation occurs when either the steel belts come loose from the cord body or when the rubber tread comes loose from the steel belts.
In either case, separation is a serious condition and almost always means that the tire has reached the end of its life, no matter how much rubber tread is left.
A separation usually throws the tire grossly out of balance, resulting in a heavy thumping noise as you drive down the road or the squirming sensation that you describe.

Although the tire may look normal when it is on the car, once it is removed you can clearly see that the tire is out of round. Sometimes the separation manifests itself as a large bubble on the tread or the sidewall.
Another indicator of separation is something known as a mole hole, which is a knot or bump on the sidewall that results from distortions of the cord body or the belts. Mole holes, which look just like a mole or gopher hole in the ground, are about the size of your fingernail.
Unfortunately, there is no way to repair a separation, because the damage has occurred in the very foundation of the tire. You should check your tire warranty, however, because such failures may be covered under the workmanship clause.
Separation can be caused by many things, such as poor overall quality or excessive tread wear. Sometimes, a puncture can damage the cord body, and even though the tire is repaired initially, the damaged cords will eventually allow separation. Another cause is worn suspension parts, such as struts, which allow a cupped wear pattern that puts a lot of stress on the tire.
Tires have been vastly improved in their ability to resist blowouts or other sudden losses of air pressure. But separations sometimes are a precursor to blowouts, which are among the most dangerous mechanical mishaps you can experience at highway speeds.
Aside from safety reasons, consider the possibility that the tire could throw off a steel belt or tread that could rip up your fender well and cause hundreds of dollars worth of damage.

Every strike brings me closer to the next home run. --Babe Ruth

Good morning!
I've honestly been trying to make a card....for weeks!
Just hasn't happened!

I made some Easter Bark.
Bought the wrong M & M's, but they were a big hit anyway!!

Made 'bird nest' cupcakes!

Vanessa & I went to GP yesterday to get the
rod pulled out of my toe!

WARNING: GRAPHIC X-RAY!
When the doctor left the room I took pictures of the computer screen!
See the 3 screws!?
I had no clue!
I told Vanessa, "when I tell you my foot hurts right there;
that's why!"
You can see the rod is beside the screw left in the toe!

This is her watching across the hall, as that lady had about 3 rods in the toes of each foot!
(My 'matching shoes' are in that bag!)

I still have swelling, and tenderness.
The doctor explained that because this was a 'redo',
it will take 3-6 months. WHAT!?
And I'm supposed to 'take it easy'!
And, it's ok to get it wet now;
I can have a real shower!
That borrowed shower stool is going back on Monday!!!

Here's a before:

Here's an after!

I took my softest most comfortable Sketchers, and they were still tight. SIGH!
Because summer's coming I'm supposed to use SPF50 on my foot, so it doesn't get irritated!?
No hot tubs, pools, etc. until my incision is healed( I still had stitches!?), and the hole in my toe!
No running, OMG!

It's going to be a quiet weekend here!
I don't have to make Sunday Supper!
I told V not to worry, my friend P & I would roast hot dogs in her backyard!
I will cook ham next Sunday!
Doesn't matter when we have it, as long as we're together!

These are the treats I made all my peeps!
I got the tutorial for making the 'Diaper Fold pouch' here!
I will be busy tomorrow handing the rest out!

I've got a table full of AVON that needs to be sorted & delivered today too!
Going to see if Craft Night Friday can be moved to this afternoon, or tomorrow afternoon!

I'll leave you with this!
I thought it was so cute, and actually smelled like chocolate!

Have a great weekend & Easter everyone!
Travel safe if you're going anywhere!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!!

If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

Hello!
I've gotten a reprieve from painting etc., and am actually still in my housecoat drinking coffee!
I. KNOW! WTH!
In other news it's -26 here this morning......I think Mother Nature is napping!

The restoration guy came Tuesday to check out Kalen's house.
It's a mystery where the water came from, and if it will ever happen again!
The place has weeping tile, it drains properly....WTH!?
Told us to "Put it back together, the 2 X 4's look like they just came out of the forest."!!!
So we went from this:

To this:

In 4 days!
Vanessa has a room mate moving in tomorrow!
I cut the rest of the trim yesterday, and it will go on today.
I painted 1, yes ONE ceiling tile!
Told Vanessa, her & her friends could have a paint party some rainy day!
A ceiling tile at a time, cause it made such a difference!
I am getting a microwave this week for the house.....

Kalen's birthday's on the 1st of April, and I sent him money for his move to Alberta.
I SHOULD HAVE said, "I bought you a microwave for your house for your birthday!"
I'm also picking up laminate for the 2 bedrooms upstairs;
and I took a new dryer vent package over yesterday.
There's more dryer lint in the basement.........the hose is duct taped.......
Ya know yur a redneck when........
One of her friends will install that!

Vanessa's already moved in.
We're gonna do the big bedroom first;
she'll move over;
then we'll tackle the scary glow in the dark orange room that hurts my eyes!
We're gonna do some more painting in the basement, get some updated light fixtures,
already got the taps in the bathroom fixed, we're on a roll!
Have to do some outside work; if Spring ever comes!
Good thing I don't have too much on my own to-do lists!
Hopefully, we're done in a week or two!

In case you think nothing crafty's been going on at the Luck house..........
When Vanessa was here to pick up MORE STUFF,
and have supper last night, she said,
"When did you have time to make a card?"
Hahahaha!

I sent this poppycock/the card attached to the birthday party Ray went to last week!

And I made these.............

I got the idea here; and while they turned out amazing, they won't hold anything!
And GOOD LUCK trying to get your treats into the water balloon!
So, last weekend when Vanessa's friend came to play with us;
we made these:

We left a hole to put the treats into;
I'll show you the finished result when they're all put together!
It was really labor intensive; I'm glad I started early;
I think my mod podge was past it's due date,
cause it was like"Getting high on Stazon!"
It's now in the garbage!

So there you have the rest of the story......kinda!
I'll just keep plugging along!
I might even get back into the craft room today after laundry etc.!

Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. --Helen Keller

Hello everyone!
Hope you people in Canada are enjoying the long weekend!?

Ray got back from Phoenix Wendsday night.
Sicker than a dog!
The funny thing is, he didn't get sick from anyone or anything in the U.S. of A.
He got sick cause his BIL arrived sick from Canada, and they all stayed at the same house!
I hope I don't get it....knock on wood!
He did good in the shopping department though!
Our coffee pot crapped out a few days before he left; I bought a cheap one at Fields until they go on sale.
He came home with this!
Oh Happy Day!!!
He also picked up some new phones that were desperately needed!
Oh yeah, the wedding was wonderful, he figures there were about 100 people there, and except for the 4 neighbors they'd invited, the rest of the guests were Team Canada! hahahaha

Anyhoo, I was going to make my go-to wedding card to send the new bride & groom;
of course I had to look it up again because I can never find the template! It's here!
I dug out my Xyron I got at the Garage Sale, and can honestly say I'll be using it more often!
For everything!
It turns what ever fits in there into a sticker!!!
Who knew!?

I put all the pieces through.....

Stuck them on some light (cereal box type) cardboard......

Cut them out, and put them in a marked envelope!
Of course I'll remember where I put it! HA!

Here's a crappy picture of the finished project!

It's a gatefold, her dress closes it with a little magnet;
I put a little envelope inside so we can send some cash.....
US cash, cause they have a condo in Phoenix!

The weather's been lovely,
Shadow & I will go for our walk today before the sun heats everything up to slush & muck!

Vanessa will be here today after work!
Also one of her friends from town is coming for supper!
I'm cooking today, the scalloped potatoes are already in the slow cooker!
Making an amazing dessert, I'll try to remember to take pictures!

Vanessa's also bringing me a little present I bought myself over the phone yesterday!
A treadmill!
It was advertised for $2199.99.
I.KNOW!
It was on sale; I used the points I'd accumulated on my credit card,
and paid less than $700.00! (With GST)
It has a lifetime warranty on the motor & frame.....
I shopped around!
Ray's sister took hers back, and I really need excercise of some sort in the winter!
I'll be setting it up next week,
because it won't be long before Shadow & I have to take a break....
It will just be too muddy!

Hope you're all well!
Thanks for popping in to say HI!
Your comments alwasy make me smile!
Happy Easter everyone!

Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

There is No Such Thing in Anyone's Life as an Unimportant Day.-Alexander Woollcott

Hello peeps!
Hope you had a wonderful Easter if you celebrate it!
Ours was good, Vanessa & Shawn were here!
We had ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet potato casserole (it's to die for; like eating candy!), vegies, hot cross buns and I made a pineapple sauce for the ham I wasn't too fussy about; so yesterday it got turned into muffins and a pineapple loaf! For dessert I made a Red Ribbon Delight or something to that effect.....one word....awesome!
Vanessa brought me my treasures from Michaels!
I needed some ribbon, hahahaha, really, I needed adhesive!
So she brought me 6 packages of Tombow adhesive runner permanent refills! 3 in each pack!
I tell ya, adhesive is hard to come by around here!
She brought my popcorn from Costco!
Big Orville Redenbacher jugs!
And a wonderful 3 tier spiral planter for outside...that was for Mother's Day!

There was an afternoon of quading!

The elk have made it to the back 40!

This is Shadow coming out of the creek, and she took a flying leap, and got me soakin wet!

Her & I are trying to clean out the willows.
It's still pretty wet though!
It did get to +15 C today, so was almost tropical.
Didn't need a coat, that's for sure!

This is what got delivered to work today.
Apparently it's Secretary's Week!
I love my job!

I'm also ready to get back to creating stuff!
Had a nice break!

Can't buy tickets to go see Kalen until July.
He only knows 3 months ahead what his schedule is!

Better go, talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!
