Good evening! I started this before 7am, and am just getting to it now!
I have done laundry, worked up my garden boxes, hauled $#it, made supper, and a cake, then I had enough so I showered!
I still have to go close up the greenhouse, but that can wait a minute!
I made 2 grad cards for my SIL's gramma. She needs them for the end of June. They are already on their way!
Hope the kids are happy with them!
I have sent Vanessa's birthday card too.
I have one more craft related picture, then you can get on with your day!
My Xyron needed a new cartridge.I took it out carefully so I'd get the replacement in properly.
I ended up U-Tubing it!
Hahaha, must have taken me 20 minutes!
Facetime photos
Doesn't take much to amuse us!!
This munchkin is finished preschool!
This next picture is the greenhouse, with load bearing pool noodles!
The apricots.
Lavender is going in to the left.
The upright posts need to have the fencing put on for the loofahs & gourds!
The south side of the back fence is finished.
We also did the front & rest of the south side a couple Saturdays ago. I told Kalen he better use me before I'm usless!
My knee surgery is June 9th.
Fencing
We're hoping it keeps the deer out.
Kalen run a strand of barbed wire at the bottom.
The contraption at the top is how we tightened the fence before tacking it onto the 4X4's
We are pretty sure the deer don't bother lavender, but we want to harvest the loofah & gourds.
Last year the deer even ate the tops off our potatoes!
Last picture.
First sour cream rhubarb pie of the season.Today I made rhubarb bundt cake!
Yesterday I took mom to an appointment an hour away.
We(as in Kalen & I) are going to see what's available in town for seniors.
I said I would pay for 2 Meals on Wheels a week to be delivered if we have that.
Kalen & I will still make a meal once a week.
I also need to find out if someone does home visits, light house work etc.
We will be having "the talk' next time we're there.
The one where she wants to be independent; but isn't anymore.
It's not fair to all of us to go for a visit, and there's a mile long list of chores to be done. She has 2 sisters here too. One is 70, and one is about 64.
We all just want to do our own yardwork.
Then there's the worrying!
I am waiting for her to burn down the house. She has 2 wood stoves.
She hurts herself and can't remember what she did.
She missed Mother's Day, sleeping in her chair.
We had a lovely lunch, cleaned up, left her a plate of food in the fridge, and 2 desserts.
She stayed in that lazy boy chair for 4 days.
I called her and said, 'you know if you're sick, you can't go to your appointment.'
She said, 'Gail, I'm not sick. What I have is not contagious. I hurt my ankle, I don't know what I did.'
I said, 'did you fall?'
Mother, 'You'd think if I fell, I'd remember.'
But she doesn't.
We are telling her that if she ends up in the hospital again, they won't let her go home, because she lives alone.
She is very forgetful, gets disoriented.
We would like if she would move into an assisted living place.
She says I am living here while I can still drive.
And she shouldn't be driving.
Barb, don't you call & tell her.
Kalen is so stressed, and he's got 600 projects on the go.
He just wants to go have a visit with gramma, and a game of cards.
He stresses over her to do lists.
Anyhoo, have a great rest of the weekend!
I am sure these are first world problems!
Wash your hands & wear your mask!
Talk to ya later!
