One of my friends stopped by the Lodge where I work yesterday.
She's dying of cancer.
She's lost her hair, she's bloated, I wanted to cry.
I told myself...."You put a smile on your face Mary Sunshine and get out there."
I don't see her very often.
I send the occasional card to let her know I'm thinking of her....she lives 3 hours away.
That...I'm sure is just an excuse.....What is my problem?
She can carry on a conversation, we joked about crocheting. She said she "hadn't crocheted forever," and I said, "I'm not showing you again!" We laughed.
She said, "Remember how long it took me to learn?"
I said, "That's because you're left handed, and it always looked backwards to me!"
We talk about her treatments...she hates them.
We talk about her kids, and mine. My baby will be 22 on April 1st. And hers will be 30 in June or July.
Even though I don't see her often...I think about her a lot, and wonder what I could do to help!?
I know she appreciates the cards.....It seems like such a little thing, but they really brighten her day.
She's not very old.
I hate getting news about her not doing very well.
I want her to get better!
I don't want her to die!
