Nice doesn't mean doormat, it simply means being kind in your interactions whether its a yes or no.

Hola people!
Thought I'd bring you up to date, sort of!
Here's yesterday mornings temp.
Waaaay better than the last 2 Mondays!

In other news,
it's dark when I go to work. :(
We sprung ahead!!

I have 6 cards for the aunt!
Maybe 12 was a stretch, but hey it's not June yet!

Here's some deer which moments earlier were playing in the traffic!

Here's an escapee from Hogwarts!!
He's a really big feller!
Was at the entrance to the driveway yesterday!

Here's my bottle tree a friend of ours made!
He brought it over on Sunday!

It's not where it's going to live, but I had to try it out!
He did a really good job, and is making 2 for himself!

For our next trick at the Luck House, Kalen went hiking yesterday!
He called me yesterday morning to tell me he was hiking from China Beach to Bear Beach (hoped he wouldn't see any bears).
Me: "So you'll call me by supper time tomorrow?(today)"
Kalen: "Well I'll probably be up early so I'll call by noon."
Me: "OK"
Noon today and nothing from Kalen.
I went to town for the mail for work, giving him the benefit of the doubt;
they ARE 1 hour behind us.
At 2:00 pm, I email 3 Navy friends, and 2 park email addresses I found on their sites!
Of course I sent a warning text saying "I was sending the calvary!"
He texted me at 2:30pm, just when the nice lady from rlc parks called me back!
I told her all was well, better safe than sorry, and Thanked her profusely for getting back to me!
Meanwhile, Kalen texts at 5; jumped the gun a little didn't you!?
I said Nope, you didn't call!
Turns out he got to the campsite; 9- 10 kms, and as he's walking, his back is getting sorer & sorer!
He put up his tent, and layed in it from 5 pm yesterday, to 8 am this morning.
Took his tent down, packed up as best he could, couldn't even tie his boots,
and took forever to hike out!
The terrain is rough going!
He called me tonight AFTER he'd been to the hospital,
and got pain killers & muscle relaxants,
but holy moly, this kid is in shape.
Any path is a good excuse to go for a hike........
Maybe he won't go so far next time....
I don't know, it's what he likes!
My question is; "When do you stop worrying about your children?"
Then I think, Never mind........
I tell my mom the day I'll be at her place!
The only rule is I have to be there before dark!
If I give her a time, she just worries!!!!

Alrighty, better go!
Hope you're all well!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

Great pictures, that owl is a bit haunting, though! You're in the dark now again (in the mornings) but maybe it's a consolöation that that will happen to me the last weekend in March... when you probably already see the light again!

Good going on the cards and glad to hear that Kalen was something like fine in the end...

Looks like you have a great start to your quilting cards ... they are turning out so nice. That's one massive owl. And the answer to your question is NEVER!!!!

Loved all these wonderful quilting cards. I have to try this technique. Here's another one to take a look at: http://ourlittleinspirations.blogspot.com/2014/03/using-scraps-for-background.html. This reminded me of an old worn, well-loved quilt. Hope you'll have time to take a look & enjoy. Enjoyed seeing the pictures of what is going on in your part of the world. Glad it's not down South! Great bottle tree. How pretty this will be with the sun sparkling through the glass when summer arrives. Nope, you never get to where you don't worry about the kids. It's part of being a Mom. TFS & Happy wkend. Hugs

OK, at the risk of sounding like a big stupid person, what the hell is a bottle tree??? I haven't the faintest idea. Secondly, you'll never stop worrying like a Mom, because that's what Moms do, especially the good ones, and you are one of the best in my opinion. Your kids are so lucky to have you as their Mom (and you can show them this to prove someone said that!) I LOVE that owl picture and I love those "quilt" cards. Really striking! Take care of yourself in all the madness. . .Hugs, Curt
