WOW

I know it's been like 'forever' since I was on here last!
The rest of the buffalo were rounded up, and shipped 2 weeks ago tomorrow!

Toodle ooooo....that's the last of the buffalo leaving home!
We had 100 even. We had one rogue bull that was Grimms, we left in the pasture, as we couldn't get him rounded up.
Then he ran away from home, which didn't bother me at all, because he wasn't ours!
Last Wednesday (Canada Day) I was up at 6:30 am, and going to make coffee. I was looking in the back yard when I noticed some of the biggest mountain ash back there was laying on the ground. I thought, "I wonder if the wind did that?"

Then I saw the big boy! Strolling around the yard...he was pretty busy tasting trees and such, then jumped back into the pasture!

He was slaughtered the same afternoon! He weighed 835+lbs. hanging weight! Here's a picture of his footprint and my dirty leg! I'm size 8.

Now

there

are

NONE!

So, Ray & I went camping this last weekend. Left on July the second, and came home on the 5th! Took Kalen with us, and fun was had by all!
Have to go again! We went to Hilliards Bay on the Slave Lake. It's about 2 1/2 Hours from here, but is great...the fishing was fun! Food was great! We never got home until after 9 pm on Sunday night!
Vanessa got home the same night from her wild & crazy trip to San Diego! She called the next day to say she had a wonderful time!

Sad

Today I went to the celebration of life (The minister says that's what funerals are called these days) of my friend I made the Thinking of You card for.
She was 52.
I'm a little weepy.
The minister also said not to ask God 'why' or any of the other things people ask when someone dies. Well......WHY not!?
She was too young.
I just had coffee with her 2 weeks ago.
I'm gonna miss her.

The funeral was in Grande Prairie.....I've been in a funk all day.
I was going to lay one friend to rest, and picking up wedding supplies for another.

It's just one of those things, even though we don't like to think about it, life goes on. That was the hardest thing after our Jason died. You have a house full of friends and family, and the day after the funeral....no one. They all go back to their lives, which really isn't fair.....cause you're thinking the world will end, it's unfair cause life as you know it is shattered and will never be the same.

On another note, the rounding up of the buffalo is going well....Friday we got 26 in.
We had 5. Now we need 9 more and the truck can come and get them!
I told Ray I didn't feel like rounding up tonight as I was feeling weepy!
Hope I didn't jinx anything. It'll be nice to have 42 out of there. Then the rest go in August or September, and we'll be free to have a life again!
I'll let you know how many there are after we get 42 out of there!

Senior's Week is next week....have a full schedule planned. It outa be busy!
