Common sense is the knack of seeing things as they are, and doing things as they ought to be done. --Harriet Beecher Stowe

Hello all!
Hope this finds you well!

Things I've learned this week....hell, I learned it Tuesday already, and the week had just started!
Do NOT fill the outdoor wood furnace on a work day without wearing your stylish toque.....
2 words..............
HAIR SPRAY.
Go ahead & laugh, you've all seen the movie Backdraft ........nough said!

Anyhoo, I did get a picture of the back of some deer trying to escape down the cutline on the main road across from the driveway.

I also laughed when I saw this,
but was pretty happy that some of Vanessa's 20something friends weren't playing on it at the time!

Guess the tire swing needs a new rope in the Spring!

I did make some cards for Valentines.

This is for Vanessa, pretty sure she's forgotten how to lurk!

I got the inspiration here!

Here's Kalens.
I told him that I hoped it made up for the slippers/ his word,
that was his Christmas card this year!

I got the inspiration over here;
she does waaaaay better stuff than me,
but she's ok about sharing ideas;
 and I DID listen to her, and got a watermark for my pictures...
SEEEEE!!!!!!
Now I just have to have a minute to make it cool!
I STILL have to download my pictures through Picassa...WTH!?

In other news,
I was supposed to have my second turn driving the Handivan for the community run this morning;
but called there, cause I'd heard the lodge was quarantined.
It was;
I didn't have to go,
and one of the volunteers in town was going to check the seniors apts. to see if anyone from there wanted to go to town.
I figure the manager at the lodge should be calling us in a case like that!?

Also, I'm so busy at work, I'm not sure if I'm coming or going!
We had 68 employees last year.
When I told one of my bosses that;
He said: "68 stellar employees."
I said: "Not even half....hell not even a dozen!"
And we laughed.........
I know I'd go bonkers if I had to deal with some of them every day!

I figure by Monday I'll be caught up enough to work on some more T 4's.
Good thing they don't have to go out until the end of February!

I'm working on some note cards.
I'm getting pretty stingy with my Christmas card sending!
I received a few after Christmas, so will send a card!

I also got a lovely letter from a dear friend's daughter.
My friend's in a facility way down south, and I try to stop now & then.
I don't think the daughter knows that!
She thanked me for keeping her mom in my thoughts at Christmas time!
So I've printed out the picture that was taken of us last time I was there,
and I'm going to send it to her.
I know her mom doesn't remember that I've been there!

Hope everyone's well, and staying out of trouble!
Talk to ya later!
Ta ta for now!

    You are amazing. Love both cards.
    Love the deer pics. The mental pic of you and the outdoor furnace made me laugh.
    It could have been funny if they were on the tire swing.
    I was doing the roof thing today but it was only my awnings. My gosh what a pile of snow we got!!!!!

  6. Oh yes... the season for Valentine's cards is coming up for the North Americans... As I'll be heading out for a vacation next Wednesday, I'm glad I didn't need to give that a thought ;-) But yours are beautiful! No more Backdraft incidents, please!

  7. Hi Gail, I am so inspired when I see you do a scene card. I just love them. It is not as cold here today as it was yesterday so i am glad for that.
    The trees were beautiful yesterday with all of the frost on them. Talk to you soon.

  8. Hi Gail, you are a hoot! Love the pic of the deer. We are in the city and have a small population that roam about a one mile radius which includes our house. They visit at night and eat bushes and flowers, but I love them and love seeing them in the snow.

    Your cards for your kids are wonderful. Love the sentiment on the first one so much and the Moon shaped like a heart on the second is fantastic.

    Hugs
